This is quite a cheaply done primer for the Shan language (spoken in Myanmar and Thailand), written in Thai. Students probably use it to learn how to write the Shan script and how to more or less pronounce the letters, although the pronunciation is given in Thai as well, albeit a strange version of it. The content confused me quite a bit, and I wasn't sure why the dialogs in the book were so repetitive and words were given more than once while others were missing. Some of the dialogs were even given in both directions, Thai-Shan and also Shan-Thai. In the end of the book there's a wordlist of Thai words written in Thai script, along with their Shan translation written in Thai script, followed by the Shan word written in Shan script and the Thai word written in Shan as well at the end. Very confusing, because it's sorted by topic. There were also some introductions to the way the letters are written, but due to the poor printing the arros can hardly be made out. Phew. But nevertheless I managed to learn quite a few things about Shan and I can actually read their alphabet now. So it did help me.
