Hi, my name is Abby. I hope you enjoy my exciting new romance and erotica stories.

I love stories about strong, female protagonists that give you a good character arc and background to the action as well as providing the steamy details of what they get up to. I am particularly attracted to themes like wife-swapping, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and public and group encounters.

I am thirty-years-old and live in the beautiful forests of rural Ontario, Canada, with my two dogs.

I hope you enjoy my stories. You are always welcome to contact me at: abby@type-writer.net

TITLE: Tainted Rose
SERIES: (The Darkness Trilogy #2)
AUTHOR: Abby Weeks
GENRE: Dark | Adult Fiction
PUBLICATION: April 11th, 2014
MY RATING: 5 STARS

Warning! This book contains triggers that some readers will find distressing. It is not for the faint of heart.

Just like Book #1 the author states that: The following story is based partially on events from my life...

WILL ADD MORE TO THIS REVIEW TOMORROW

Hearbreakingly raw

The only thing I'm finding in these books so far that could improve them reading wise is the double sentences that appear eradicate those and the whole story would flow better and make for easier reading..And I don't mean this to sound disrespectful to the author that is not my intention..

Love the story line, I went into this expecting it to be dark and gritty and Abby Weeks has definitely delivered that, I think this one is a touch darker than the first book..What I liked more with this book over book 1 is the fact that we're given more back ground information than we were privy to in book #1

So what I'm really liking with this trilogy is that it's not sugar coated, it will appeal to some readers but not others, you need to have an open mind whilst reading this, it deals with rape on a regular basis, it's raw, gritty, it's dark and it will cause triggers in some people so before you want to read this or are thinking about reading this you need to think about the above..This series is not a walk in the park, puppy dogs and all that romantic shit but I generally do hope that Rose does find her Knight in Shinning Armour at the end of all this..

There's a difference between reading something purely fictional to reading something intermingled with factual elements based on what an author has endured makes for hard reading and for me so e of what's written in this book is harder to stomach than the previous book..

Enter Josh Carter He was looking for a girl he hadn’t seen since she was twelve years old, when her father had been brutally killed. He was keeping a promise he’d made a long time ago. Rose didn’t know it yet but he was going to change her life forever.

DNF @ 57%.........siggghhhhhhh........

I am not sure I can say exactly what it is about this book for me to quit reading. Just a lot of little things, from the boring flashbacks that happen a lot to the too descriptive of minor details that have really nothing to do with this story.

A lot of the story was the same thing over again.

I had high hopes for this trilogy!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am a huge fan of books featuring motorcycle club culture, and almost anything featuring a dancer of any kind is sure to snag my attention. I prefer my biker themed reads to be gritty and unforgivably “real”. This is that and much, much more. Warning, this is an extremely dark read. This storyline deals with a lot of explicit abuse, and rape, so please be aware that this book might be a trigger landmine for some readers. I personally love pushing my reading boundaries, so that was not an issue for me. If you are a fan of Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J. Roberts , or other non-consensual themed books, you might want this added to your to-read list.

The blurb for this book says this is the love story of Rose, a stripper in an extremely bad situation, and Josh the last member of the Sioux Rangers bike club, out for revenge. I felt that was a little bit of misnomer because this book primarily deals with Rose and her mistreatment by the villainous Dark Rebel MC, and in particular Serge their Vice President. The majority of Josh's part of this tale is important, but it isn't the force moving this crazy train along. Rose goes through so much at times, tears actually came to my eyes. This pushes past eroticism, and more in the realm of sexual torture. There isn’t anything to “pretty up” what is happening to the heroine throughout.

This is a great beginning of a new series, but I did have one small issue. I personally felt this book should have ended at about the 90% mark, and the rest of Rose and Josh’s story should have been picked up in the next installment. It made the wrap up feel a little rushed, in my opinion. That being said, this made for an extremely gripping biker read. I’m really curious to see what happens next.

Updated 06/18/18: some disturbing things related to #Tiffanygate made me want change my initial rating of this book. I'm still on the fence about it...but opting to just leave sleeping dogs where they lay, and hope they stay there.

Holy Shit! This book is brutal. I love a good "bad boy MC" book. Like seriously love them. But this book is not that. It is not the loveable rapscallion leather-wearing but loyal MC guy book I love. This is something different. This is HELL x 3.14 NO.

Rose is tainted. Yes indeed. She didn't start that way. She was raised in a MC club. A club were the members were loyal to each. They were family. But for Rose things change when her father is killed. She no longer has the family she grew up with.

I won't give away the HOW of how her life came to be what it is because I want you to have that moment shock you like it shocked me. But know that her life now is crap. C. R. A. P. She is forced to dance and much more in the cold Canadian north.

Can we just take a moment and say....what the hell Canada? I had no idea there were such mean people in Canada. My perception of Canadians is skewed by Alex Trabeck, Alan Thicke, and Micheal J Fox. I mean ok...Justin Bieber is a jerk. But for the most part I think of Canadians as nice mellow guys. Not so here.

Back to the story......Rose needs to escape the life she is in but sees no way out of it.

Rose blanked her mind. She didn't want to remember the details of this. She didn't want all of it to be ingrained on her memory if she could avoid it.

We don't meet Josh until way into the book. So far into the book that I was beginning to worry we would just get Rose's crap life and then THE END. Josh knows things. Like things about Rose she doesn't know. Josh is a shining light. But he comes in so late that we don't get enough of him.

Josh and Rose have a history she doesn't even know about, but can they have a future. That is questionable considering the Not Michael J Fox guys looking for them.

The story is good, brutal. I thought the timing could have been better but I just wanted Josh sooner. I loved the woven backstory that we get later on. There will be more of this series. I want more. I want more happy. Cause there is not much happy here. Alan Thicke...where are you????

Like the first book in the series, this one begins with Rose in a hopeless position. She's been property of the DRMC for 2 years now, being forced to strip and service club members at a bar in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the inhospitable Northern Canadian wilderness with no hope of escape or rescue. Honestly, I don't know why she didn't take her own life. When things get even worse and she decides she'd rather die trying to escape or commit suicide than live another moment in those deplorable conditions, she finally gets a break.

Josh, the only living member of her father's club is introduced. He sets out on his own mission for revenge and inadvertently discovers Rose's location, setting out to rescue her from the DRMC. It seems that Rose has finally gotten a break!

Surprisingly, there was absolutely no mention of Patrice in this book. I really expected him to make an appearance, but it never happened. Maybe he'll be reintroduced to the story in book 3. As one of the main characters in book 1, it was weird to have him entirely absent.

Another thing that was shocking, or at least unbelievably stupid, was that when the opportunity presented itself to kill Serge and other DRMC members that had brutalized Rose they left them ALIVE! What kind of dim-wit would do that!?! Josh and Rose deserve a Darwin Award for that moronic move. Maybe she is suicidal after all.

*some minor spoilers ahead

Tainted Rose is the story of Rose Meadows, a 23 year-old woman who two years ago was forcefully taken to a dismal bar in the middle of nowhere in Canada. Rose’s life is a living nightmare from the moment she is taken by the Dark Rebel MC. She’s forced to work as a stripper and whore; she is abused, raped and mistreated in every possible way by a group of men who consider her worthless property.

Her story is brutal and harsh, no details are left out and the villains are absolutely repulsive. The violence is vividly described so I felt at all times her pain and despair with the sexual abuse, the extreme loneliness and her vulnerability. Although the book is written in 3rd person, it was easy to get inside Rose’s head and understand her thoughts and emotions. The torment she faces is both physical and emotional, and Rose knows that sooner or later she’ll be completely broken if she can’t escape her personal hell.

The beginning of the book was a bit slow; we get a lot of descriptions and background information and I was hoping for more action or dialogue. I did feel later that the background details were essential to fully understand her situation, but more dialogue would’ve helped keep the story flowing.

Our hero, Josh, doesn’t make an appearance until halfway into the book. I do wish he would’ve appeared sooner because there was so much suffering in Rose’s life that I was anxious for her to finally have something good happen. Josh is finally introduced and before he meets Rose we get to hear his tale and how his story is connected to Rose’s past. Even though I was longing for an earlier meeting between them, I do understand why the author introduced Josh at a later time and why their personal histories needed to be told separately.

I enjoyed the book in spite of the heart-breaking scenes and I was completely immersed in the story so that by 60% I couldn’t put it down. The descriptions of Canada and scenarios are fantastic so I felt like I was there. I loved both of the main characters and the fact that they were candid souls regardless of their actions and circumstances. I don’t agree with a decision they make at the end that will likely bring dire consequences, but their choice is part of who they are and what makes them unique.

I was thrilled to finally see Rose and Josh together, their connection is poignant. When they finally meet at the bar where she works, Rose’s first impression of Josh is

“It was as if the entire room, the entire world, filled up with sunshine when he entered” .

As a whole I felt this book was drama rather than romance. I believe their story is still untold and I would love to see how they face life together and truly become one. On that note, I am really looking forward to the next book!

A copy of this book was generously provided by the author for an honest review.

The first 75 percent of this book was so depressing, degrading and a disgusting nightmare I didn't know if I wanted to kill myself or kill Rose the main character in this book so she didn't have to suffer anymore.

I wanted to kill every single mother fucker in the book by cutting their penis off and stuffing it in their mouth. While carving there faces up and slowly watching them die while forcing them to beg forgivness from Rose.

Not even the last 25 percent could redeem it for me. You can only read about so much abuse, rape, the sickness in this world that makes men think they can degrade and abuse with their power, before you say. "Id rather die than go through that", ....or read about it. Ever again.

I don't know how I got through this book or even why I tortured myself reading it. I may need therapy after this. cuz all I can think is DIE MUTHA...FKAS... while imagining myself killing each and every biker that sickend me in this book.

This was a very emotional story. This is not for the faint at heart, this has some very hard scenes to read but that what's makes the story so deep. It was very well written. I read this in one setting the story was so gripping. My only complaint is the romance was rushed at the end, this is supposed to be part of a series, so maybe the next installment follows Josh and Rose and there newfound romance.

4 Dark, Disturbing, Abusive stars.

Tbh this series is one of the grittiest MC books I've read. It's not even a love story... well not until the second half of the book where the 'hero' was finally introduced. This book was f*cking brutal. There were scenes that were hard to read but since I'm a fan of the author's vivid, compelling writing style, I couldn't put it down. Rose Meadows was the exact definition of the word "tainted". I could hardly imagine how brutal her life had been in the hands of the DRMC. In Tangled Rose (prelude to Tainted Rose), she was kidnapped, repeatedly raped, degraded, humiliated, and so much more I could barely think of. Now, two years later, she was forced to work in a bar ran by the Dark Rebels, strip, and be a whore for vile, disgusting men. I thought the scenarios in the first book was bad, but hell, it was even worse in this book. My heart ached for Rose. She didn't deserve any of the abuse the DRMC fuckers had given her. I abhor those men to the point of killing them in every way possible in my mind. The author's writing was so strong that I could intensely feel Rose's unbearable pain and constant misery. (Jesus, I was dying for someone to just fucking rescue her and someone who would kill those fucking bastards who abused her.) But just when Rose was about to lose hope in grasping her own freedom, we met Josh Carter, the man who would finally save her in the hands of the devils.

This book was brutally heartbreaking and utterly believable that it would pull you in up to the very end. If you're a fan of dark, disturbing biker stories, you would love this. The author was able to tell her readers how sick and twisted life can be and I am in awe of her. I'm dying to read the next book!

2.5 Revenge Stars!

WARNING: May be disturbing to some readers!

"Respect few, fear none."

Rose grew up within the life of bikers. Everything was taken on one bloody Sunday, her father and anyone considered family was gone. 10 years later she's now a slave to the rival MC that took her family out. Rose is trapped in the middle of no-where, forced to strip for truckers and bikers. That's until Josh Carter comes to town, will he be the one to save Rose from her prison?

I thought this was written rather well. The character development was there. There were just too many details about the land, factories, and truckers. I get the author is trying to paint a picture in our mind, but it made me lose focus on the story! I tried to keep reading every word, I didn't want to miss any key information. The more I read, the more I skimmed, I already knew what was going to happen!! To be fair, I enjoyed some parts. Rose's choices were really weird to me, I didn't understand or connect with the things she did. (No Spoilers)

I just didn't get the shock and awe that I need in my MC books. Just my opinion. I'm sure others that don't read dark books that often will be shocked.

Taking a deep breath, not sure how to rate this book. I usually rate a book according to how much I enjoyed a story, but I don't imagine this is a story to enjoy. So I'm going between 2.5 to 3.5 stars, but only because i don't want to sit on the fence.

It is predominantly a story of the tragic situation a girl has the misfortune to find herself in, simply by making a massive error in judgement. Rose had my sympathy, i felt her pain and wanted the best for her but couldn't imagine how she could flee the hell she was existing in.

This feels like a story someone would sit down and tell you to share the horror of trusting the wrong people, of taking a chance to make easy money. Well it worked, the result was not what you would wish on your worst enemy.

If this is the beginning of a new series, i would read on, hoping that the story would continue in the vein of the last chapter.

This is VERY hard to rate!!! On one hand i felt the need to rate it 5++++ stars just because of the way it made me feel...icky!! I mean I respect someone being able to write a story that makes me just keep saying OMG what?!? On the other hand I have a hard time rating a book with so much terrible stuff happening OVER and OVER a 5. I went into this series blind, so I had NO IDEA that I was getting into such a depraved world of bikers. These are not your normal bikers! I think the ending was REALLY rushed, I wanted something like that to happen the whole book but when it finally did it felt rushed. I am on to book 3, I may need therapy after this is all done!!=)

One I started reading this book, I was completely addicted. I spent my free time reading.

Abby Weeks takes the reader on a brutal ride with the main character, Rose Meadows. One horrific event changes her life. The story is very well written in the third person.

I was able to feel the pain and suffering that Rose had to endure. Her abuse was described in vivid detail, I was horrified. She endured two long years of emotional and physical abuse at the hands of vile, disgusting bikers. These bikers were part of an outlaw motorcycle club.

The differences between a couple of the outlaw motorcycle clubs is a part of this story. Some live by a moral code, even though there is illegal activity. There exists brotherhood, loyalty, respect and family in these clubs. Unfortunately, Rose becomes a piece of property to a MC that lives by no moral code. All that exists is brutality.

Even though Rose was forced to strip, she tried to make the best of her situation. I know it sounds messed up, but I understood why she wanted to be good at stripping and wanted to have new attractive outfits to wear. Rose needed to have some control over some part of her life. Her story is about survival, she needs and wants to be rescued from her humiliating life.

Josh is introduced much later in this book, I liked that his character was introduced later, even though he is a main character also. Josh and Rose have a connected past, he is aware of their connection even though Rose isn't. I liked the outcome of their meeting.

This is a very brutal book. It is definitely not your average MC book. The violence, killings, and rape are described in vivid detail. I don't like average books. After all is said, any book that sucks me in from the first page and keeps me reading through all the shocking abuse, deserves 4 stars.

I was given this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for a great read, I am looking forward to the next one!

Tainted Rose by Abby weeks

4 Stars

Being a huge Sons of Anarchy fan, when I read the blurb on this book, being about an MC, it was a no brainer really, I had to read it. Oddly enough I haven’t read a book about a bikers before even though I grew up with a Dad who has rode all his life and still rides now even in his 70’s!

Now the DFMC is absolutely nothing like the romantic notions I have about these gangs. There is no loyalty amongst them, they stick together through fear and fear alone and not because they consider each other as brothers, who they will defend to the death. The way they treat women, as worthless possessions to be used and abused is frightening and this powerfully written book shows us just how darkthis world is for one such female.

The daughter of the president of a rival club, Rose, was ‘taken’ and forced to work in a bar in the middle of nowhere just as a means to revenge, even though her father is now dead. For the last two years her life has been filled with violence and she is left with no hope.

Tainted Rose includes some very graphic rape scenes and is not a book for the feint of heart. It is written in a way that gives the reader lots of description and inner thoughts rather than being dialogue driven, but I found it extremely easy to connect with both her and Josh who makes an appearance in the latter part of the book.

Both their stories are told separately and lead up to the point where they are connected. I felt the book ended too soon just when they meet it’s practically over leaving me wanting to know what happens with them next!

This is a series I will continue for sure, though it’s dark it drew me in completely and I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end.

First of all let me say this is a very brutal book. To say it contains triggers would be putting it mildly. *Contains rape abuse and extreme violence* I usually don’t mind MC violence but this was way beyond a normal MC book. That being said I still enjoyed the story I just wish the hero & heroine had more time together.

I pitied Rose mostly because she was getting numb to her situation. She had lost the fight and let them break her. Yes she had strength to endure everything for years so I like that about her. I did appreciate how she tried to make the best out of her horrid situation.

To honest Josh saved the book for me. After reading about such horrible men for him to swoop in with more honor in his right hand than the whole fucking Dark Riders MC was extremely refreshing. He was a stubborn man who wasn’t going to give up until he caught the man who murder his father. Then when he found out about Rose he was like a man possessed.

The plot had great premise, it just feel a bit short for me. Mostly I think because I wanted more. It was a good setup for a series. I will admit I teared up when Rose’s father was dying in the flashback. Ok I really cried but it was so sad yet so honorable.

~Special thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.~

I received an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Note to readers... if you are not into dark reads, violence and sexual abuse, this book IS NOT for you. It is a very dark read. Personally I prefer my MC books dark and gritty, this book is exactly that and more.

I read the book in less than a day... I was so absorbed in the story, I could feel Rose's pain. There were passages in the book where I was literally holding my breath to the point of getting dizzy ! The author has a way of making the story come to life. The book is based in Quebec and Ontario which was a first for me, the cities and towns mentioned in the book are ones I know personally, even my hometown is mentioned and that made the book feel even more real to me.

Rose life takes a turn for the worse when her father dies and later taken by the Dark Rebel MC, her life becomes a living hell. Her story is brutal and the author has a way of describing the details of her abuse in a way that you truly feel her pain and despair. I will not go into details of the story because I believe you need to experience it yourself, but believe me if you love gritty, dark, violent MC books, this book is for you !

I can't wait for the next in the series !

~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~

This book two of a three book series. I found this book difficult to get through. I found myself skimming through most of it. It became so repetitive that I was almost bored and that shouldn’t be the case in a story such as this. The only redeeming quality in this book is meeting Josh. Thank God he finally showed up, I was losing hope! Josh is out for revenge, little does he know that his revenge will ultimately lead him to Rose and help her get her revenge as well. As much as this book wasn’t for me, I will read the last book in the series just to see how it turns out.

Characters: The characters were well written

Sex: yes but not consensual most of the time

Religious: no

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: yes

Genre: Dark

Would I read more by this author: yes

Review of Tainted Rose (The Darkness Trilogy #2) by Abby Weeks

Review done for Hooked on Books & CherryOBlossoms Promotions

3 out of 5 stars

Rose Meadows is suffering at the hands of one of the most gruesome motorcycle gangs in the world, the Dark Rebel MC. She was kidnapped and made to work as a stripper in one of their dive bars in the middle of nowhere.

She is repeatedly raped and tortured. She doesn’t think she can last much longer. There doesn’t seem any hope to get out of this nightmare for her.

One day a stranger from her past comes into the bar to rescue her. Josh knew her father and promised to look out for her. When he finds out where she is and what she is going through, he is determined to get her out.

This book is dark and brutally violent. This book had the makings for a really good MC book but the ending was disappointing. I thought that Josh would have been more vengeful when he had the chance. Bikers don’t just let anyone who wronged them go. Josh and Rose making love their first night together after all she had been through felt wrong as well.

Overall I thought the book was ok.

I liked this book. Alot. Maybe to much considering the horrific things that are inside it.
Rose has become employed at a very secluded little club in the middle of no where. Few men go to this club, but when they do Rose is expected to perform.
She is very unhappy and most of the time takes her self to an other place mentally.
She wants to get out but has no way to.
That is until someone from her past shows up.
He is the key to her freedom.
In order for them to leave they must face off against the VP of the MC club in which she works for.
That is a nearly impossible feat. But if there is a will there is a way.

I cant wait until I read the next in the series. Well done Abby.

I really don't know how to rate/review this book. The first 50% was very bleak and depressing-the descriptiveness was almost too much for me.
I almost got bored with the repetition of Rose's existence (being brutalized).
I was ready to give up at about 54% but then there was a POV change and we meet Josh. Thank goodness we FINALLY get some break from the monotony of Rose's life with the DRMC.
The end of this book just frustrates me - no spoilers, but I just don't get it.
I do enjoy a dark read, but this book just didn't sit well with me.
I will finish the series, as I need a Happy Ending to this horrific story.

This is a dark and dangerous book, which takes a long time to say very little and then seems to rather rush to the ending. There was an intensity to it, which made me really think about what I would do in that situation, but then the flicker of spirit would be doused out. I'm glad I have read it, as it is thought provoking, but light reading it certainly isn't!

I went into this one with no expectations. It was tough to get into, I skimmed a lot. There seemed to be things that were repeated, within the same page sometimes within the same paragraph. I did really like Josh's character, bringing him in was brilliant. It saved what was left of this book for me. I enjoyed reading about him and his revenge against the MC.

This is supposed to be the second book in a trilogy and while it picks up where Tangled Rose left off, this book also finally answers those questions we were left with from Tangled, as well as rehashed (though not in as much detail) how she came to be in the strip club where we find Rose. Really, I was left with impression that the novella of Tangled came to be written after this novel and... I was a sucker.
This had numerous editing errors that did impact the flow of the story and pulled you out of it trying to get it straight before you moved on.
Also, I was very disappointed with the "ending" and how the two characters ended up together at the end. It was a rather "wham-bam-you saved me-I love you" type of scenario. It just didn't jive for me and felt a bit rushed.
I know there is another book in this "trilogy" and we still need a solid answer to what happens to the villains, but really... I can't bring myself to care, or buy the last installment of the trilogy to find out.
What a let down.
(If I new how, I would go back and edit my review of Tangled Rose, that's how disappointed I am with Tainted Rose.)

Tainted Rose is at times heart-wrenching, and brutal.

Rose Meadows has had a very difficult life, she doesn't know how she'll make it through one more day.

Josh Carter's life hasn't been easy either, and he has spent ten years looking for retribution.
Abby Weeks takes you on their journey, into their world, you feel Rose's pain and desperation.

I felt Josh's determination to make things right, and I was hoping with all my heart that Rose would find a way out.

Will they find a way? Well, you'll have to read this amazing, heartbreaking, and yes, hot story to find out!

** I was provided a copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review **

All thoughts, feelings, and opinions are mine.
I can't wait for the next book, I need to know what happens next!

Heartbreaking, cruel story especially as it from some of the author's life experiences.

Sexual slavery, rape & massacre are not easy to read about but I'm taken into a world of despair in the safety of a book. Continually using & abusing I can't fathom the mentality of the men who do this.

I wish the best for the author but with the rage this book evokes I can't continue to journey with her.
