Maggie McKenzie loves bad boys. The more tattoos and piercings the better. She never dates perfect, pretty boys like Caden Callahan. They’re boring as hell. But one night, Caden is a very bad boy indeed, and she wants him. Oh hell. She wants him more than anything in the world, and she’ll stop at nothing to get him.
Caden Callahan has always fought the inner demons lurking within him. He’s managed to keep a low profile until now. For some reason, Maggie brings out all the darkness in him…the darkness he desperately tries to tame. He wants Maggie, but he won’t give in to her until she gives him what he wants: a relationship.
Annie Green loves romance and happy endings. When she’s not daydreaming about characters, she can be found hanging out with her husband and three children. Please feel free to contact her. She’d be happy to talk to you.
I loved Maggie she's one of those people who doesn't hold back what she's thinking, "let me get this straight. You just jacked off in my bathroom while I was standing there watching...and now you're going to go?" Also if she likes something she's going to let you know, "and when I sprang free, I heard her moan. "So effing big," she said, reaching into the middle console, pulling out a condom and rolling it onto me. Just the feel of her fingers touching me nearly made me come." She also let's you know what activities you'll be doing at night, "his arms wrapped around me, pulling me against his warm skin. "If you think you're going to be sleeping at all tonight, you're wrong," I said softly, my hands trailing across his stomach." I think I liked Caden and Maggie's story more than Damien's and I really hope Jonathon gets a story because I loved him hardcore.
Maggie and Caden's book was a little too YA for me. It was downright raunchy in parts and did nothing for me. Maggie's character came across as juvenile and just interested in sex and nothing else. Caden repressed his feelings and put a mask on for the world. Their relationship was rocky at best and I did not feel all warm and fuzzy when they got together. It was not my cup of tea, but it may be all right for someone else.
I saw this book and it looked really interesting. Then I realized that it was part of a series and there was a book before this one. I bought both books but I still read this one first considering you don't have to read this book second to understand what is happening. Maggie McKenzie is a very talented pianist that is studying at a special college for it. She loves to play Classical Music but she does not look like she fits that type at all. Maggie has alot of tattoos on her body and dresses pretty revealing to show off her attributes. Her parents are still together but it is questionable if they still love one another. Maggie's father is a Tattoo Artist and her mother went against her own father (Maggie's grandfather) to be with him. For 19 years, her grandfather had no interest in seeing or getting to know his granddaughter Maggie. Caden Callahan appears to be a really good guy but he has dark secrets and what he believes to be dark urges. He feels that he needs to keep himself in control and not let these urges get out of control. He has a younger sister that he takes care of and tries to protect from the system and his mother. His mother is a druggie who has disappeared for weeks now. Maggie loves bad boys, especially ones that have tattoos and act like it. Caden does not have any tattoos but then he saves her and shows that there is more to him than how he appears and acts sometimes. Caden wants Maggie but he wants her to commit to a relationship with him, not just hook up with him for a short time and then go on her merry way. Maggie does not believe in relationships after seeing what became of her parents love. So they play a game to see who will give in - will Caden win and they enter a relationship or will Maggie win and they just have no strings sex.
This is a very good story and definitely worth the read. I will be reading the first book with Damien and Temperance.
I'm a big fan of this book and the other book in the series, Never Enough. I love the characters. The stories feel realistic and not overly dramatic. Can't wait for the next book!
