4 - "Wake up to the truth!" Stars!

I can honestly say I have never read anything like Darkness Falls before, and I mean that in the good sense... Sleep and dreams, are something that we all have in our lives and Erin Kellison has taken those two things and given them a uniquely dark and fictional spin.

This is a weird one for me in that although I knew and understood exactly what was going on whilst I was reading it, trying to explain the book in a review is proving difficult. A lot of the main plot points would be considered spoilers, but to say that Malcolm Rook and Jordan Lane’s initial meeting is about as far from your average introduction as you can get would be an understatement. Both on a ship to dreamland, so to speak, one is nervous as it is their first experience in the Rêve, the other is essentially talent spotting, that talent may not be something it’s owner is essentially aware of, or will wish they had once they learn of it.

"Sleep is an alteration in your brainwaves, and Rêve is simply getting everyone on the same frequency."

Although based on truth, Jordan quickly comes to realize that there are an awful lot of grey areas that the general populace are not told about when it comes to Rêve, and through her initial association with Michael she starts to understand that she may have more in common with him in relation to this than she initially assumed.

She’d known him all of thirty-six hours, and for most of that she’d feared him.

Their attraction is instant, their connection intense, and while the world, dream and otherwise is irrevocably changing for Jordan, her snark, confidence and level-headedness, shows Malcolm just how special this woman is.

Darkness Falls, is certainly the setting stone for the beginning of the Reveler series, you are introduced to several other characters of note in Jordans’ sister Maisie and Rook’s boss Steve Coll, this book ends on a cliffy, but bearing in mind it’s a series of eight and all have been released, there are no worries about dipping right back in, with the next book Lay Me Down which continues this unusual and interesting adventure.

ARC generously provided, it was my pleasure to provide the above honest review.

Hm. I've got nothing. Was it bad? No. Was it good? Not even close. It just happened, and as I've begun typing this, I've already started to forget everything. Just another medicore book that will fade into the watery memories of books long dismissed.

Here is the skinny, Jordan and Maisie are sisters and they go to this newly legalized collective dreaming shindig. Guess who breaks all the barriers and is the fucking best at this? Yep. Jordan. The big sister. Little sister of course was up to no good, and was generally shallow. Oh I bet you know what's going to happen next! Did you guess that the one guy out there to scope out any potential talents spotted Jordan? You did, didn't you? Que longing, lust, electricity, over protectiveness, and a little bit of fear.

That's about it folks. I will say that the length of this book affords some short cuts in the plot development, it's a tiny bit smexy and the overall concept is pretty cool. Apparently there are only certain kinds of people who can do what Jordan and loverboy can do, and it leads to darker, more troubling things. Perhaps that will be developed more in the next installment, one can only hope.

THREE AND A HALF TO FOUR STARS!

I've always been an unapologetic Inception fan and so when I read the blurb for this book, there was no way that I could pass on it. And I was not disappointed at all, not only did it bring all my Inception feels to the fore but it also had me drowning in its own feels as this book had its own style, despite there being similarities within the dream world and concept.

Darkness Falls is a paranormal romance that is set in what seems like a contemporary future. Reve, the french word for "dream," is a pop culture phenomenon thats taking the world by storm, with so many people signing up to enter a shared dream space where they can indulge in their fantasy lives. One such person is the ever reluctant and sensible Jordan Lane, who, accompanying her sister Maisie into the dreamworld, is marked by a Chimera agent by the name of Malcolm Rook. When it becomes obvious that Jordan has an uncanny ability for the dream world, she becomes the target of an unknown, shady organisation. Thus begins Jordan and Rook's fight for survival, but they quickly come to realise that Rook's demons may be a far greater danger.

I quite enjoyed this book. I found myself relating to Jordan in that I've always been the sensible sister, always shouldering the responsibility so that my younger sister could be absolutely carefree, so I definitely felt a connection pretty much from the get go. What made me absolutely love her was how she grew into her wicked powers and how absolutely fierce she was when it comes to protecting the ones that she cares for. This is a woman who is more than capable of rescuing herself and it just makes my heart thump wildly in admiration. Rook, for me was a good character, though he didn't stand out as much as Jordan did. I did, however, appreciate how protective and possessive he was of Jordan and how he drew strength from her to face his own demons.

How did a man catch up with his own nightmare? He had the answer now: when his woman was fighting it every step of the way.

Right on, bro. Right on.

Also, what really worked for me was Joshua. I don't know about you guys but evil/scary kids have the power to scare the hell out of me. And when I say scare, I mean whimper pathetically while hiding under my bed covers. So when I read about Joshua and his freaky appearances, I freaked out appropriately and cheered Jordan on.

So why not five stars? Even though I really enjoyed this book, there were several aspects that stopped me from being head over heels in love with it. The first is the length of the book. I understand its a novella, but I feel this book could have been so much more if it was longer. Its such a rich concept that 115 pages couldn't possibly be enough to fully explore not just the dreamworld but the characters as well. Which leads me to my next point that everything unfolded rather quickly, often times too quickly. For Jordan and Rook, whilst I had no problem with the instant attraction between them, I would have loved it if the author could have built their relationship up more. I found myself wishing for some witty banter or for some training sessions that would somehow turn steamy. For the story itself, I wish the fight scenes could have been prolonged for us to get a better grip on Jordan's powers, to learn her limits and possibly see it begin to evolve. The only other issue I had was the writing style. I know everyone has their own unique style but I found Erin's a bit so-so for me. At times it was brilliant and well suited for the story at hand, at other times I found it sometimes awkward, often making scenes disjointed somewhat.

Overall though, I quite enjoyed this book. Definitely need to check out the second book in this series!

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

Oh my sweet Goddess, this book! I purposely hadn't read the blurb, and when I started reading and was thrown - head first - into this stellar new world, I could only gasp. I actually went outside to relay the concept to my other half (who could have cared less) because I simply had to tell someone. :)

Remember those Choose Your Own Adventure books where you could pick different outcomes? Have you ever had a serial dream; one where you dream a continuing story night after night? Imagine those together as a new popculture rage, wherein you pay to share a dream landscape with others and lucid dream your deepest fantasies within that landscape. Now, throw in some individuals who are naturally open to getting into and controlling these dreams and landscapes on both the good and evil side of the coin...

This book was instantly compelling, utterly intriguing, chock full of absolutely incredible characters, and had plenty of wit and sexiness to round out the dark goodness.

I'd love to tell you more about the incredible characters, but in so doing, I'd be forced to give spoilers and I just don't do that. Suffice it to say I would highly recommend this book!

5 skulls for Darkness Falls. I'm reveling in the sheer genius of this fresh new world, and the masterfully spun tale from the mind of one of the best dark fantasy romance storytellers around.

Loved it! I fell in LOVE with Erin Kellison after being introduced to her 'Shadow Series' 2 years ago, so I was pretty excited to read a new series from her. The Reveler Series did not disappoint. As a novella series, I knew that I would fly through each book, so I decided to wait a little while before starting them. With 4 books in the series out now, I thought that it would be a good time to start. Well, in just 2 days I have completed the first two books and have already started reading the third.

Darkness Falls is a short and easy read, but still full of action, adventure, fantasy and romance. Of course I wanted more, I always want more, especially with novellas. But, knowing that the story was a novella I expected it to be short. Still, the idea of shared dreaming, the potential for danger, the unmistakable and irresistible pull of attraction and chemistry were all present. Kellison is known for creating and developing characters that you love, and then jumping between the heads of the two destined to fall in love in her books. I love her concept of following two characters, and introducing others along the way, who will eventually be the star of their own love connection in a future installment. Knowing all that, I was not surprised that she continued her formula here, albeit on a novella series rather than a full length novel series.

In Darkness Falls, we learn about Réve, a way to share dreams and fantasy with other dreamers, yet there are things that are not well-known or understood to the general population about the process. Further, there are people that share unique talents or abilities beyond the norm within the 'dreamwaters,' there are monsters lurking about where they shouldn't, inside and outside the dreamwaters, and although the story is just beginning for Jordan and Rook, it also seems to come to an end rather quickly. However, Kellison does not just leave those characters out in the cold. They are sure to appear in the future installments of the Reveler series, as Kellison has a knack for keeping her lovable characters around.

My Recommendation for Darkness Falls: If you are looking for something different, yet a quick and easy read, this book is a good fit. This Novella series is written more like episodes, meaning that questions will not all be answered in each book, yet there are more just around the corner. Kellison is the author that keeps on giving because she continues to produce books within her worlds, so you are just left hanging wondering what happens next. The Reveler series is not all released at once, yet the books have come out close enough together to make the short wait between installments worthwhile. Plus, this book is FREE right now, so what are you waiting for?

I like the idea behind this series A LOT. That said, I thought the ending was incredibly abrupt. Not only in terms of not tying up the overall arc (I'm assuming that carries over into the next book), but in terms of how the relationship between Malcolm and Jordan played out. Everything seemed to be moving forward and working nicely and then, BOOM, they're together and that's that.

Okay, wait. It's not so much that they were together (let's be honest, I expected that), but that we got no closure to Malcolm admitting it. "This is my special lady friend." *end scene* I had to go back and reread the last few pages to see if I'd missed something. For the record, I didn't.

Beyond that, the idea of Reve was fascinating. Shared dreaming, billed as being completely safe and non-addictive, yet with a dark side no one talks about. Malcolm is very predatory in his pursuit of Jordan. He knows her world is going to change the moment she steps into the dreaming and he's not very sympathetic to that at first. As he gets to know her and sees how she got drawn into everything because of her desire to help, he begins to see her in a different light. Still, he's rough around the edges and comes across as hard and tough more often than not.

Meanwhile, I can appreciate Jordan's desire to keep her sister out of trouble, but Maisie made me raise my eyebrows more than once. She's so willfully clueless at times, it hurts. Jordan's life was put in danger because of her. Jordan's entire life is uprooted because of her untruths and the position she'd put herself in. While I'll admit Maisie couldn't have known that Jordan would have drawn the type of interest she did when she stepped into the dreaming, I had a hard time liking her.

(This isn't even Maisie's book and she got more paragraph time in the review than Jordan. Go figure.)

Imaginative and enjoyable (up until the abrupt ending), I'm curious how the overall arc will play out. Something bad is in the dream world and I want to know what it is.

I like the premise but I find myself getting lost in the story. Like are the events happening in the now or is it in this other plane? DARKNESS FALLS is making me insecure like I feel dumb for not "getting" much of the story. Psychic fantasies are tricky like that I guess, there's so many shifts that could happen without much preamble.

This one is going to be hard for me to review. In fact, this author was the reason I wanted to review this group of novellas. Her Shadow books are one of my favorite series. In this start of a series, it was a short read, but not always an easy one. The world was hard to follow but after a while, you did get used to some of it and so some of it flowed even though you didn't quite feel like you had a complete grasp of what was going on. I feel that this will clear up as the series goes on. It was also quite short and so you are left with a lot of questions. It also works in wanting to continue the series because I wasn't ready to leave and wanted some completion of the story I started. What was great about this series was the characters. Although I am not completely sure about Malcolm, I know he is someone to root for and want the best for him. Who I really enjoyed was Jordan once her walls started to come down and her wicked sense of humor came forward. I give this book 3 stars, and I am intrigued enough to want to continue the series and find out more about these characters and the world in which they exist.

This series must be read in order. This is the first book.

At first I didn't understand what was going on... Much like Jordan I did not know what to make of the phenomenon of the Revelers but I was nonetheless sucked into the story from the very beginning! The author made me feel Jordan's apprehension and unease before I even knew what the wonder drug actually was. That is awesome writing for sure.

Rook on the other hand I could not bring myself to distrust even when he distrusted himself lol. I could just see beyond his petty recriminations somehow to the fact that as long as you are on his side you are safe. He thinks he is a villain but it is just not the case. I really love him as a character!

This book was a romantic suspense thriller with a dash of paranormal romance. I loved both main characters for their humor and wit in the face of challenges and adversity. I laughed a lot reading this book ... To the point I really got sick of answering what was so funny :D I am totally going to go start reading the next book Lay Me Down: Reveler Series 2 right now!

***This series is suitable for adult readers only

This is the first time reading this author and I was drawn to this by the genre and the blurb. It seemed alittle different than most and after reading alot of paranormal that is the hunt. Not really knowing what to expect I dive in and right away this author is able to snare me with the characters she has created and brought to life. What they are doing is very intriguing and you plunge forward wanting to know about this dream world and what it is they are actually doing. Blends it fantastically with the times that you can almost imagine it yourself. Love how she uses people's addictions to get them hooked on even this the dream world. Excellent mix of characters to give you a full body read with a balanced mix of good and evil. Understanding though that there is a battle of sorts though that is going on also. Right mix of heat and not having it overshadow the plot is a plus. Their abilities are interesting and have become even more intrigued on the ones not even mentioned yet. Meaty story that will have you going that is a great beginning to what I have found to be a different and refreshing series. Received a copy for a honest review.

Interesting story, but I did get confused in some parts. The story mentions Chimera, and as a big fan of mythology I went online to read more about Chimera but nothing seemed to match with this story. That didn't stop me from reading but I am confused about what's going on in the back story. (This is just one of my personal quirks and not a detraction against the story in any way.) I put book 2 on my wishlist.

I went into this book thinking that it was going to be a paranormal story so I was a little confused by the premise. But once I figured out what was going on (it's more of a sci-fi story) then I was totally on board. I really like the connection between Rook and Jordon and I look forward to seeing what happens in the next book.

I have mixed feelings about this one but it was enough to pull my stars to round up to a four.

The beginning of the story is what really brings me to low the ratings. Too much is not explained well. To modify that statement, I mean that even though much information is covered in the first part, there is way too much important information left out or with little in depth explaining to move forward without feeling a bit unsatisfied.

An easier way of explaining myself, would be to say that if a story went on telling you that someone was chasing them for half the book but not telling you why, sometimes not even a who, you'd end up feeling more inclined to abandoning a book after a while. So despite getting all the information, you end up still having a vague reasoning for their actions or anyone else’s for that matter. This is what I mean in this story. You get much of the mechanics of it but your purposely left without the important details to gain any sense of the plot. Maybe the hold off, is to have the readers surprised with the information. I don't know, but it doesn't work well here. It works against it. You know that the lead male is policing the dreamscape but why? Who are the people (or the reasons for organization to go to such lengths to find them). Why are these special people being sought after? Why doesn't he want to recruit her. What will happen when she is recruited. Those things. The reasoning is left out and it almost became the reason for failure in the story.

Enough about that ranting. Despite the beginning part that I mentioned, the author did a very creative make up for plot and settling in this story. Although, I wanted to point out that the over protective big sister got a bit too much at a time or too, but she did pull back just in time before I decided to shuck, or fling the story into file 13 and call it a day.

The story does end leaving you intrigued as to where this story might go. However it also ends without really tying up a lot of loose ends. It's really just open ended.

I gave it a four star because I didn't find any horrible grammar and editing issues to warrant my ire, so that is a plus. In actuality I place this as more of a solid 3.75. I am at the wall as to whether I will continue to pursue this title further down the rabbit whole. I am suspicious of Maze's behavior to know I can be turned off easily by her actions and stupidity since she is written to be immature and lack common sense. I do know that there is potential for those qualities to be honed in by the strict and controlled Coll. Just don't know. Maybe a coin will have to be tossed to decide. Let fate intervene.

All in all, it still was a good enough story, the settings did pull you into them, and the possibilities are endless for where it can possibly go in the future. We'll just have to see.

I received this ebook for review from the publishers via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review. I was in no way compensated for this review.

I adore Erin Kellison's Shadow and Shadow Kissed series, so this new series she wrote definitely piqued my curiosity. Darkness Falls is definitely a different kind of read, there are no paranormal creatures running about, but there's still an element of magic, of other, of some pretty weird stuff. So it definitely had a lot of appeal going for it from the beginning.

It's a contemporary/future-ish setting, where the very rich can pay to experience the Reve, which is a sort of dream world place where you can be anyone you want to be, do anything you want to do. You live your dreams. Jordan and her sister Maisie go to one of these very expensive parties, and it's not at all what Jordan had been expecting. Feeling an obligation to protect her younger sister from all things, as she had since their mother passed away, she wanted to go to keep her safe. But the Reve is a complicated place to behold.

I'll admit, there are some things that still kind of confuse me with this one, and it's mostly the groups of people. There's Rook, he's a Chimera which is basically a police force (of sorts) for the world of Reve. He makes sure people aren't sneaking in or you know, doing things they shouldn't be. And for some reason, Jordan is special and has Chimera potentiality and she gets "recruited" to be one, Rook takes her under his wing.

Then there's some bad people, I don't think they had much of a name. Basically we got bad guys vs good guys and the bad guys, naturally, want Jordan too. Since this is the first in a series and they're novellas on top of it, I gather that we just can't know everything just yet. Other than those few complications that I had with the "groups" of characters and their purposes, Darkness Falls was a rather enjoyable read! I love new series and new world-building, new characters...just all the newness!

Naturally, there was definite romance between Jordan and Rook. It treads the lines of insta-love. Sure, the moment they see one another it's not love, but lust, but you can bet before the novella ends, it's love. I kind of have a love-hate relationship with insta-love. Here, it didn't bother me so much, but I guess I just hope to see more relationship developing between Rook and Jordan as the series moves along. That is if Erin returns to characters. I have the second novella to read as well and it will star Maisie, Jordan's younger sister and a "coworker" of Rook's! Should be fun!

Really interesting dreamscape and the people who work in it.

Something called the Rêve has taken the world by storm. Often called the new "drug", Revelers are in a craze, oftentimes selling everything they own just to be part of another Rêve. The Rêve is a dream-world where participants are actively involved in cognitive, lucid dreaming; in this world, they can be who they want, do what they want and interact with other Revelers. It's almost like real life, being that they are lucid and aware, yet asleep. It's not always a party - there's a downside to Rêve with the Scrape and the Darkside. Nothing good comes from those areas, which is why there are Chimera agents like Malcolm Rook and Steve Coll.

I really liked the Chimera and everything associated with it. I can see why people would go crazy for it, it really is a neat concept. In the beginning, the details of the Chimera and the bad places are a little fuzzy but as the story goes on, it got a little easier to kind of piece things together. I also like how some of the agents and potential agents, like Jordan, have different powers that can help them with policing the world. People don't always use the Rêve for good things; there are bad people using it for nefarious purposes.

The characters were pretty good for the most part. I liked how at first, it was hard to tell whether Rook was one of the good guys or one of the bad ones. Jordan and her sister were cute together, but the constant terms of endearment (sis, lil sis...) started to get annoying. The romance (naturally) was a bit rushed, but that can be overlooked because the story itself takes place only over a couple of days. Insta-love, but it needs to be in such a short amount of time.

I recommend this if you are looking for something different in the world of paranormal romance. The Rêve and Chimera really were quite exciting and I am definitely looking forward to the next in the series to see what's in store for Maisie and Coll.

In a world where almost everyone is looking for a quick fix, the only truly safe place is in your dreams. And some brilliant entrepreneurs have created a way to manage even that. Lucid Dreams are the newest thing..a safe and UN escape. That is until someone figures out how to turn those dreams into nightmares.

In book one of her exciting Revelers Series, Erin Kellison manages once again to capture the imagination and offer us a powerful "What If".

Jordan Lane was forced to grow up fast. Giving up her dreams if becoming an artist when her mother died and she was suddenly responsible fir her teenaged sister. Even though life has gotten a bit routine she is happy or rather content. If only her sister, now an adult, would just get with the program. Still in big sister mode, Jordan agrees to attend a Reve (a shared dreaming experience), a reluctant participant but once inside Jordan literally discovers a whole new world. AND a talent fir controlling the dream.

Malcolm Rook has been involved in lucid dreaming since before it was even considered real. He has a talent for the dark side if dreaming and has been working with an agency that polices lucid dreaming. Because really dreams can host some of the darkest fears. And greed can live anywhere.

Dark and Deadly is putting it mildly. Rook and Jordan sizzle first in their dreams but when they cross over to reality things really start to steam.

This story is totally unique a real treat. It's rare that we find a new premise and I must say that after I indulged in this absorbing read, I was completely captivated and can not wait fir the second book in thus series. Fortunately fir all if us, book two Lay Me Down, was released on May 14, 2014. I will be posting that review next Monday.

A truly great book.

Darkness Falls was originally part of the Dark and Deadly Anthology..

This paranormal romance is a mesmerizing journey into the fascinating world of dreams, fantasies, desires and different realities. Agent Malcolm Rook is recruiting dream masters for Chimera and Jordan Lane is undeniably gifted but wary, but soon the dreamwaters proves too exhilarating and their passions ignite, but delving too deep stirs up a nightmare they must defeat or be lost forever in darkness.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with suspense, fantasy, drama and romance. The author brings the world to life with well written scenes and details that create a complex and fascinating world that captures the imagination. The characters are strong, compelling, easily understood and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and endless possibilities arouse curiosity and fantasies drawing the reader deeper into the world and ensuring they want to know more.

The attraction between Jordan and Rook radiates not only from every page but deep within the dream world as well, but Rook has some emotional issues from his past that makes him think he’s unsuitable, but he doesn’t count on how strong and gifted Jordan is. The reader gets caught up in the intriguing world as Rook introduces not only Jordan, but the readers as well to the enthralling and addicting world of shared dreaming.

First let me say, read this series in order. I read the third one first and while I enjoyed and was intrigued I was a bit lost, but this one has cleared that up, while I am on this subject adding a glossary of terms might be helpful. The world is complex and intriguing which keeps the readers completely engrossed in the story from beginning to end while entertaining them with drama and passion, although I feel that the story could have benefited from being a little bit longer.

~ 3.5 Darkness Stars ~

Darkness Falls is book one in the Reveler series by Erin Kellison. I’m not sure how I feel about this. I’m not a big fan of things that do with the mind, dreaming, and/or time travel. I always feel there is to much to take in and to many options.

Darkness Falls is about dreaming, living a life within your dreams. It’s a shot read, but not an easy one. I had a hard time following the world at times, eventually I got use to it and some things flowed even though I did not have a complete grasp of what went on. Things will probably become more clearer as the series progresses. The characters are interesting. Malcolm is a character you want to root for and Jordan has a impious sense of humor. Their is some heavy flirting, a sex scene or two and an element of danger. The ending leaves you with some unanswered questions and a feeling that you need to read on to complete the story.

Darkness Falls is part of the Dark and Deadly box set, but also can be picked up solo. I went back and forth on Darkness Falls between liking it and not, but by the end I felt it was a good read. I would like to see what happens in book two, but it’s not a story I felt I could read again over and over.

Darkness Falls by Erin Kellison

Given this book free for a review.

Jordan Lane is going to a Reve with her little sister, Maisie Lane, she is not sure of this group dreaming thing but she isn't about to let her sister go alone. At 21, Miaise jumps into anything new regardless of the danger.

Malcom Rook, alias for this mission is Micheal Reese, is looking for new talent to work in the Reves to protect them from intruders and hunt criminals in their dreams. He spots Miaise at once as one who will take to the dream scape, thinks her older sister might but she is very controlled in the waking world he would have to see if she made it into the dream.

Miaise lied to Jordon, it was not her first Reve, she had been doing thing for months and was actually a paid courier, but now she was getting nervous about the places they were sending her.

Jordon and Malcom click together both in the Reve and while awake. When a client try to entice her to fear Malcom and go with him, even though there is a lot she doesn't know Jordan chooses Malcom and leaves her old life behind.

Nightmares try to separate and kill them. Can they fight their way through and awake again? Or will they be caught in the Darkwaters of their nightmares?

Loved this story! I rate this book five stars and will be reading the rest of this series.

I give this book 4.5 Stars

I downloaded this book for free and almost didn't read it because I discovered from the reviews it was going to be an incomplete story, and I'm getting a little tired (ok, a lot tired) of getting to the end of a free book and having to buy something to finish the story. Which is why I didn't rate it a full 5 stars.

Boy am I glad I changed my mind! This was a really interesting story, not my usual read, but like Jordan I got sucked into the story and wanted more, and more.....I loved Jordan and Rook and the interactions between them. I really loved Jordan's sense of humor as it developed through the story and she made me laugh time and time again and at the end I teared up with her when she went visiting with Rook.

I was so intrigued by the possiblities of the story between Coll and Maisie that I immediately purchased the second book and can't wait to start it as soon as my review is done.

The only thing that would make this story better would be if the series was sold as a bundle, I understand that writer's need to make money but the length of these stories for $2.99 each is pushing my limit, the excellent writing and intriguing story is the only reason I didn't just walk away and start another book in my TBR pile.

Sexy, dark, and edgy. Just my cup of tea. I really enjoyed this story. It took me by surprise, but I was hooked right from the beginning. I was immediately swept up in the world Ms. Kellison has created and absolutely loved the concept. The premise is fresh and original and kept me totally involved from beginning to end. The idea of dream sharing sounds so cool. That's what happens in Darkness Falls. Jordan only wants to protect her sister, Maze, so she agrees to go to the Reve with her and enter into the dreamscape. I won't go into any more than that you'll have to read to find out what it's like.

The descriptions were great, and just so you know, like the real world, the dream world needs policing. That's where our mysteriously sexy Malcom Rook comes in as he hunts for the perfect talents for recruiting to work for the Chimera when he encounters the beautifully gifted Jordan Lane.

As a side note, I must admit I found myself crushing on Rook from the very beginning. I recommend this book to lovers of paranormal and stories about dreams. You won't be disappointed. Darkness Falls gets 5 stars from me

All about dreams, living a life within your dreams can be fun or very dangerous as Jordan will soon find out. Jordan is a older sister of Massie. Massie talks Jordan in a night of fun by going to a Reve.
Little does Jordan know that her night of fun wasn’t going to end like she would like. Her sister is up
to dealing with people on the “wrong” side of dreams.
Jordan's talent is felt/seen by Rook a agent, with a talent to master dreams. A attraction sparks between
Jordan and Rook, as he tries to protect her from things she doesn’t understand.
I liked the writers style, not the content as much. I don’t know it just didn’t do anything for me. At 115 pages, it wasn’t a “short” read, but just seemed like something was missing. I liked the whole dream thing, maybe if it didn’t seem rushed. Some excitement and danger and a hot scene or two. Heavy flirting (smiles). I'd like to try another in Ms Kellison's work. I liked it ok, In sure you will enjoy it.

Sexy, Dark, Edgy & Complicated!

DARKNESS FALLS by Erin Kellison is the first book in Erin's new Reveler series. I would highly recommend that this series be read in order as there is a rather involved continuing story and interconnected characters who figure prominently in each book.

There's quite a bit of darkly intricate information crammed into these 115 pages and I have to admit to being initially somewhat puzzled by it all. Still... this story served as a good set-up for the series and I really liked the hero and heroine.

Erin Kellison has created an interesting world in which Revelers (dream walkers) can enter Rêve (shared dreams). Initially, I found the story to be a bit confusing. It's a short book (~ 120p), so I expected things to be made clearer sooner. Words were used to describe the world and the characters, but there was no explanation for the words, if that makes sense. Once I had a better understanding of the world, the story moved rather quickly and I enjoyed the ride.

I'm fascinated by the idea of interacting with others within shared dreams. I will definitely continue the series.

Jordan has her first experience with the Rêve and meets Rook, who's an agente of Chimera, tracking individuals with strong talents in the Rêve world and fast he understands that Jordan has strong abilities.

Someone else is interested in Jordan but his intentions aren't good.

While a strong attractions develops between Jordan and Rook, they also have dangers lurking.

This is a riveting new world, full of characters that kept my attention and even after "The end" have me thinking about them and what comes next.

This story really took me by surprise but WOW, I absolutely loved everything about his story line. It is different well written and such a fast paced read. Erin writing is unusual but not even in a bad way. I feel in love with the characters and was sad to see it finish.
The dream realm and the story behind it isn't like anything i have had the pleasure to read. Erin has a new fan in me and I can not wait to see what will happen next. It makes me wish I had one of these males in my dreams.

* I received this novel in exchange for an honest review *

Darkness Falls by Erin Kellison was a short, sweet, sexy read!

Did the cover catch your eye? You should check out what's inside the cover. This was the first in the Reveler series and I would certainly pick the next up.

If you're a fan of Paranormal with some sauce, this one is for you. I loved the world the author built with dreaming, etc. It was unique and made this fast paced and hard to put down.

Very enjoyable!

Good but short

The story was new and exciting. It definitely draws you in quickly. The first "book" (8 chapters) I got free but there are 4 more out. I imagine they are just as short. While I really enjoyed where the plot was going I can't justify $12 (currently $2.99 each). I'll keep my eyes open for a sale for certain.
