Trans* 101:: Exploring Gender Identity

Rate this book
What is Trans* ?
Trans* is the newest umbrella term for people who are transgender, transsexual, agender, pangender, bigender, two spirit, and so many other labels. But what does all of that mean?

Many people believe that sex and gender are the same thing, but they aren't. Sex and gender, while they can be related, are greatly different in the end. But what are the differences? A transsexual and a trans* ally walk you through the basics of what sex and gender are, how they are formed, and why it matters. There is a heavy focus on trans* people as they are the ones who are showing how vast the world of gender is and are often given a great deal of grief for it.

Included is a basic etiquette guide for how to handle talking with a trans* person if you don't know how and short bios on famous trans* people so you will never have to say you don't know any trans* people again.

The book is not horrible. That said, as I read I felt as I could have written it myself.
