I enjoy Laurie Halse Anderson's books for older readers more than these ones but they are still entertaining enough. I also get them for my young friend Erin who loves to read them, and so I will continue to get them, read them and forward them to Erin for her enjoyment,.

Another great edition to the series. I enjoyed learning more about parrots and birds in general. I love the characters and their challenges in these books.

During spring cleaning, Zoe catches a bit of blue at the neighbor’s bird feeder. When she looks closer, she seeks a green bird with a blue head. It’s a parrot! Of course, Maggie doesn’t believe it and teases her unmercifully. When Zoe sees the bird again, it talks to her. And, this time, she has a green feather to prove its existence. Within a short time, there are fifty or more parrots perched in the tree branches. In the midst of all the bird excitement, Zoe’s mom calls to tell her that she can finally come home- to Los Angeles. Zoe should feel happy, but she’s not. The very next day, Zoe’s mom walks through Dr. Mac’s door and expects Zoe to leave in a few short days. What about Sneakers and the talking parrot that she’s named E.T.? What about school, Gran, and Maggie? Zoe’s loyalties feel pulled in so many directions; she doesn’t know what to do or what to think.

Zoe is a volunteer at her Grandmother's vet clinic. One day a flock of parrots shows up in their backyard. Are they wild? How will they survive?
