If the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy and the Crossfire Trilogy made a baby, it would be called Break Me Slowly.
I quite enjoyed this one. I had just come from a very intense read so this fit in perfectly. Short and steamy. When I first saw the title I expected a dark read which it wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing light about the characters’ pasts. They both come from abusive backgrounds and we get a glimpse of Adam’s and in much more detail, Katelyn’s.
We were two broken people who couldn’t communicate about the darkness that was swallowing us whole.
I quite liked Katelyn as a heroine and if you love controlling/possessive men, you will love Adam.
You belong to me, Katelyn. Your body, your mind, your soul. I won’t stop until I have it all.
While I enjoyed it, I will say that if you’ve read Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared To You, then you will find the story very familiar. There is also the case of insta-love which I know some readers find too unbelievable. I on the other hand have no problem with it. If I can ‘believe’ that a super sexy, super rich guy that flies his own planes and sails his own ships at the young age of 27 can fall in love with an ordinary girl who works in a hardware shop, then I can believe that two people can look into each others eyes and fall in love without saying a word. It is all fiction after all and I tend to enjoy things in books that I would not dare do in real life ;)
So all in all, if you go into it looking for something like FSoG, then you’ve found the right book.

Barely 3 Stars
A wannabe Fifty and Crossfire, even down to the words: "I'll try". It could have been really good but I thought the story was anemic and thin. Nothing was in depth. Nothing was really told/shown who Adam is and was. What does he do? Who are his friends? What makes him tick? Dunno the answers to all questions. I did like Katelyn. But I want to know about Adam. I loved that he groveled at the end to get her back... just love that scene.

Remember when you were coming down from reading the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy and the Crossfire Trilogy and you were left in that cloud of nothing will ever compare to these, what am I going to read, the book hangover that doesn't seem to go away. Well, I give you your Tylenol, Break me Slowly.
I enjoyed this book more then I thought I was going too especially after I read some of the reviews. I probably shouldn't have liked it as much as I did but this book is exactly what you need to cure a bad book hangover. It's quick and its HOT!! The Characters’ pasts are very similiar to what I am use to, they both come from abusive backgrounds. Where we get to really know Katelyn's, Adam keeps his guarded.

I liked Katelyn she was different but the same as the other Heroine we read about in these books (Yes, that means she is a virgin). She has a terrible past but she is still open, loving and warm. Katelyn doesn't like to be touched but that all changes the moment she locks eyes with Adam. Their love is intense, out of control and emotional. Their love has that similiar Gideon and Eve feel but it also has their own twist on it which makes you fall for them.
"What's your name?" "Adam Kinkade" Damn. Even his name sounded sexy
Oh how I love a good Alpha, Own your soul man and Adam took that and ran with it. Adam has secrets, he is a multi millionaire and he is beautiful! He is charming, he is controlling and the instant he sees Katelyn he has found what completes him.
He had shattered me. Any plan or idea I had about controlling myself, or my emotions, was gone. I could only hope that he's catch all the pieces he'd broken and put me back together.
"With every breath my body grew weaker. Adam was my drug, and though he stood right in front of me, I knew I should run away or suffer the withdrawl. And it would be painful.
"You own my soul, Adam."
This book has flaws and it does have that "Trying to be Fifty and Gideon" thing going for it! There is also that I am a virgin and you're a mega millionaire so of course we are in love and let's ride off into the sunset and live Happily Ever After. But isn't that why we read, isn't that what we want when reading that unrealistic blinding love that takes our breath away and leaves you saying "I want that pretty women love" the love you know only exist in books. The love that makes you roll over and kiss your significant other.
"Hey, Wait! Did you just do some kind of Jedi mind trick on me to get me to invite you in?"
"The Force is strong in me." He smiled
"I think I'm falling in hate with you."
Go ahead you know you want to meet him....

This is my first read by this author. And i m going to write a very short review.
This book lacks of originality. The stort is copied from FSOG. The characters are 1 dimensional. Both of the characters are immature and selfish. Their chemistry is lacking therefore the steamy sex is dry.
I am not impress at all by this book.

IT WAS SUCH A FEAT TO FINISH THIS! March 28, 2013

Two weeks! that's how long it took me to finish this. It begun with a good promise of something that might be really enjoyable. But after about 200 hundred so kindle pages, it went down hill. I don't know why an author would write a scene that's quite hard to believe and swallow, so demeaning on the heroine's character.
SPOIL ALERT!!!
One particular scene is the Heroine, Katelyn Gunn, after finding out the apartment where her mother lives was sold to Kinkade Properties only to be demolished, breaks into James Kinkade building, barges into his private office, yells and berates him for buying the building to demolish and where would her mother live. James told her to shut up, commanded her to kneel down, unzip his pants, take his d*-k out and service him, and she did! SHE DID! WOW! Honestly? And when that was all done he orders her to get out, shoves her out of his office and slams the door to her face! What? Really??
I kept putting this down, I just can't seem to continue without getting so annoyed. On top of that, it's almost a copy of many different popular books out there ( I won't name them ) combined together and made into this book. I swear it's like reading same book only in another city with different name of characters. It was so frustrating I even surprised my self I made it to the finish line, but not without a lot of groaning and hair pulling! Jeez!

This one was around 3.5 stars. I was very close to Bared to You, nearly down to some of the same lines.

And Megan & Brian??? WTF where did that come from? There was like ten seconds spent on that disaster of a situation...
Katelyn meets Adam when she is nearly run over by his car as she stands dazed in the streets. Kate has deep issues from her past and closeness and touching is a trigger that sets her off...but when Adam gets near her a calm finds her that she had not experienced. She was not afraid of him and she found she trusted this stranger.
Adam is a rich bachelor who rarely dates the same woman twice. He vows to make Kate his and is pretty intense in his attempts to get her into his bed. He has some dark issues that linger from his childhood that he refuses to open up about.
So we get this mix of FSOG and the Crossfire Series... lots of intense sex, a light play with bondage/dominance, abuse, trust issues and then that instant spark of being 'bewitched'.
I have to admit that the end of the book although very rushed had a great chance at being so great. If it had played out a bit longer I would have melted over his confession when he gave her that piece of paper and what he told her. It was crazy and it was intense but I liked that part alot.
I enjoyed this book though. I shouldn't - maybe I am in Gideon withdrawals but I love the books with the over the top intense scenes. Adam was a complete alpha-male with really big issues and there is just something about that. Oh, and Kate is ... you'll never guess... a 23 year old virgin.

I discovered I'd already read this book when I opened it, still I skimmed back through it. In a variation on the beautiful virgin tumbling at a billionaire's feet trope, here we have our innocent walk out in front of his (chauffeur driven) car. Both Katelyn and Adam have secrets to hide as expected in this genre and both are unable to stay away. Alas, no trilogy is necessary to tell their story. However, there IS a trilogy in this series. Next up, Possess Me Slowly tells Katelyn's roommate Megan's tale of love.

This book really disturbed me at times, there were some scenes I couldn’t understand. Like this scene in Adam’s office that was so wrong...Had the heroine not been a virgin, this scene could have been HOT (IMO anyway) but there it was just wrong, I do not get how an innocent virgin (with such an abusive past and the issues Katelyn has) would go for this. I will not get into the details but I just cannot understand this scene and the eagerness of Kate.
But in the end I still quite liked it, it was a good read even though it definitely felt like a pale copy of Fifty Shades. I would have liked it more I think if the author had gone more into details, the secondary characters Megan and Brian are quite present in the beginning but just disappeared to reappear toward the end of the book like out of nowhere.
I feel like pieces of the book were missing and that I read it in fast-forward.

Too rushed.
I do have to say I didn't mind it, it's great for one of those in between a heavier book, type of reads. It was quick, fast and typical. Way too rushed. The first 1/2 was so completely rushed that it was hard to believe. Some scenes I had a hard time grasping the reality and believing in the book. It felt as though it was just too forced, trying too hard to be like 50 and B2U and not at all letting us connect with the characters.
Most of the time, I couldn't stand Adam. I love the whole jerky, alpha male...but he was over the top. We don't get to fall in love with him at all and he just comes across as a jerk. I did warm up to him later in the book, but like I said, it was all just too fast and too rushed. Also, Katelyn, in the beginning, came across as an immature little girl. She seemed very juvenile and I had a hard time picturing Adam being in lust with her. We don't get to see the characters grow or develop, one minute they meet, the next he is asking her for sex. We don't get to see any sexual tension.
It was not bad, it had potential. It's great for a quick read.

Sheesh... this series sucks. Why do 90% of the novels in this genre revolve around billionaire male-protagonists who just happen to own private planes??? I'm pretty sure that an average man can enjoy BDSM just as much as a gazillionaire. The Christian Grey, Gideon Cross, Damien Stark story angle has been overused, & frankly I'm tired of it. *1/5 stars*

I'd like to start off by saying that I fell really liked he main characers' names:
Katelyn Gunn
Adam Kinkade >>>Wow! just fantastic. Their names were apropos.
Apropos to what?; you may ask...
Well, Katelyn is like a Gun, where concealed and on safety is harmless, non threatening, inconspicuous. Until it is touched the right way, raised and exposed, the safety undone and fired! A force to be reckoned with, fierce, dangerous, aggressive, hot! Until its switched back to safety, cooled down and concealed once more...although, only when it comes to Adam Kinkade.
Adam, is kinky in all of the definition of the word. He is unconventional, sensual, sexually heightening,primal/carnal, raw, rough, but tender to his touch, he is at both extremes at different times-it varies and dependant on their surroundings. There is no figuring him out. He rises, ;) to his challenges...be careful what you ask for when asking anything of him and be ready to accept what he will give!
I thought the book was ok, it had a twist. I just couldn't help give it comparisons to Fifty Shades of Grey. The main guy is smoking hot, beef cake, wealthy CEO, Domineering, past issues with abuse while a child, which transcends into making him the way that he is now. Regardless of therapy, only the love of a woman he wishes to dominate redeeming him. The main girl being unsure of herself, submitting easily even though her mind and body rebels but doesn't :/
...(what else, what else...ah, yes) she gets rejected by this lust of a hunk and acts out by getting plastered and drunk calling him. He gets pissed that she is drunk and out at a god forsaken hour and rushes to her without her knowledge...conspicuous virgin until SURPRISE sex and then (ha! I have to borrow this>>) Defcon-Freak-the-F*ck-Out by the guy. Upset because of how he acted without knowing that she was "innocent". Really, he should have been ashamed regardless. Incorrigible. Throws money her way, decides on her outfits and goes shopping for all her feminine needs and stalk piles one side of his closet for her, without her even knowing. seriously?! The only thing that I expected that didn' happen was him chanting and bellowing while penetrating "This.Is.Mine" HA!! "You.Belong.To.Me", LOL...It was made clear that they were to be exclusive, but in a suttle, by the way, this is what I had understood. Was it your same understanding? *raise one of my eyebrows*
A twist in this story is that the female protagonist also had an abusive past with her parent. There really wasn't a plot. I would imgaine the power of love healing all and making us whole, would be he message. How two people can make each other whole and strong. I mean there wasn't any dealing with mom. Things happened and it just was. Adam really didn't open up to Katelyn, she just put pieces together and she figured it out. As a result, he gave her proof just to prove his commitment and trust to her. Katelyn's bestfriend Megan, was just there. She was at one point with Brian her boyfriend, all was well and then one day its as if he fell off the pages. Not a word about him until the end. No signs of trouble in paradise, just speculations, until towards the end. A plugged in after thought, "oh, yeah, and by the way..." Katelyn's aunt and uncle, the only other family mentioned, weren't accurately described. The mentionings of them were random and spread out. The mention of Tim being a creeptastic uncle, but not really doing much but gawking at one point, to grabby the other. To all of a sudden making a pass on Megan. Getting along fine with her aunt Grace, Grace being a great person, but hypocritical, to then describing both as drunks at a party and neglectful as parents...to then BAM, plug in "Oh, by the way #2..Grace is being boned by Brian! 0.0 Um, Im dizzy. This is an alphabet soup in a book, letters swirl until they connect and make a word. In this case, situations swirl and then connect to make a story.
To add head injury to dizzyness, one appearance by Adam's stepdad and all hell breaks loose and the one that takes the brunt of his hell is Katelyn. Especially after trying to buffer Adam; he "sprints" away, and is frozen for a while until he reanimates and does Katelyn hard and brutal in the back of the limo. She takes it and then after arriving at his house. Gives him space, then finds him to talk to him and he just throws daggering hateful words at her and just kicks her out. To suddenly hours later track her to her house, letting himself in with a key (she never gave him, but he got from management [I would imagine] because he owns he building), *breathe...* exchanges of words, hands an envelope of his past med. records he harrassed from his therapist (only mention of one). Continuing on...shows Katelyn a receipt of an engagement ring he bought the day he met her, by almost running over her.

I can't imagine writing is easy, I would like to write a book one day. I hope I do a great job. I haven' yet and give my props to all that have done so, no matter the outcome and were brave enough to get it out there for public speculation and enjoyment...Deuces!!
Just this looks like different ideas to a book, placed in a timeline and then printed with a cover. Again, this story was entertaining, but I was lost many times. I had to go back, reread and then move forward. Its like being in a conversation with two other people trying to straighten and match; who did what to whom? who said what when? When did they get where, how? Ugh!! P.s. about the so called sexual challenge that Katelyn and Adam were putting each other through, there was never a mention of a winner or a tie. Definately no loser as far as I was able to notice. Its as if the challenge was dropped back and then forgotten. The sexual situation at the VIP section of the club, was erotic!! Good golly ms. molly!!

A force to be reckoned with, fierce, dangerous, aggressive, hot! Until its switched back to safety, cooled down and concealed once more...although, only when it comes to Adam Kinkade.
Adam, is kinky in all of the definition of the word. He is unconventional, sensual, sexually heightening,primal/carnal, raw, rough, but tender to his touch, he is at both extremes at different times-it varies and dependant on their surroundings. There is no figuring him out. He rises, ;) to his challenges...be careful what you ask for when asking anything of him and be ready to accept what he will give!
I thought the book was ok, it had a twist. I just couldn't help give it comparisons to Fifty Shades of Grey. The main guy is smoking hot, beef cake, wealthy CEO, Domineering, past issues with abuse while a child, which transcends into making him the way that he is now. Regardless of therapy, only the love of a woman he wishes to dominate redeeming him. The main girl being unsure of herself, submitting easily even though her mind and body rebels but doesn't :/
...(what else, what else...ah, yes) she gets rejected by this lust of a hunk and acts out by getting plastered and drunk calling him. He gets pissed that she is drunk and out at a god forsaken hour and rushes to her without her knowledge...conspicuous virgin until SURPRISE sex and then (ha! I have to borrow this>>) Defcon-Freak-the-F*ck-Out by the guy. Upset because of how he acted without knowing that she was "innocent". Really, he should have been ashamed regardless. Incorrigible. Throws money her way, decides on her outfits and goes shopping for all her feminine needs and stalk piles one side of his closet for her, without her even knowing. seriously?! The only thing that I expected that didn' happen was him chanting and bellowing while penetrating "This.Is.Mine" HA!! A twist in this story is that the female protagonist also had an abusive past with her parent. There really wasn't a plot. I would imgaine the power of love healing all and making us whole, would be he message. How two people can make each other whole and strong. I mean there wasn't any dealing with mom. Things happened and it just was. Adam really didn't open up to Katelyn, she just put pieces together and she figured it out. As a result, he gave her proof just to prove his commitment and trust to her. Katelyn's bestfriend Megan, was just there. She was at one point with Brian her boyfriend, all was well and then one day its as if he fell off the pages. Not a word about him until the end. No signs of trouble in paradise, just speculations, until towards the end. A plugged in after thought, "oh, yeah, and by the way..." Katelyn's aunt and uncle, the only other family mentioned, weren't accurately described. The mentionings of them were random and spread out. The mention of Tim being a creeptastic uncle, but not really doing much but gawking at one point, to grabby the other. To all of a sudden making a pass on Megan. Getting along fine with her aunt Grace, Grace being a great person, but hypocritical, to then describing both as drunks at a party and neglectful as parents...to then BAM, plug in "Oh, by the way #2..Grace is being boned by Brian! 0.0 Um, Im dizzy. This is an alphabet soup in a book, letters swirl until they connect and make a word. In this case, situations swirl and then connect to make a story.
To add head injury to dizzyness, one appearance by Adam's stepdad and all hell breaks loose and the one that takes the brunt of his hell is Katelyn. Especially after trying to buffer Adam; he "sprints" away, and is frozen for a while until he reanimates and does Katelyn hard and brutal in the back of the limo. She takes it and then after arriving at his house. Gives him space, then finds him to talk to him and he just throws daggering hateful words at her and just kicks her out. To suddenly hours later track her to her house, letting himself in with a key (she never gave him, but he got from management [I would imagine] because he owns he building), *breathe...* exchanges of words, hands an envelope of his past med. records he harrassed from his therapist (only mention of one). Continuing on...shows Katelyn a receipt of an engagement ring he bought the day he met her, by almost running over her.

I can't imagine writing is easy, I would like to write a book one day. I hope I do a great job. I haven' yet and give my props to all that have done so, no matter the outcome and were brave enough to get it out there for public speculation and enjoyment...Deuces!!

Okay this is obviously fifty shades meets crossfire series but you know what I liked it anyways. Even though I said before I was done with this overused formula but something about this book was entertaining. The characters were interesting and their chemistry was hot.
I didn't like how Adam and kate's relationship was a bit rushed and then slowed down and then rushed .. it was a little messy but hey I enjoyed it anyways.
I'm not that much into trilogies as a matter of fact I kinda of got sick of em but I was surprised to find out that this book ended and that was that because I felt like there was so much more that should have happened. We never met Kate's mother and her trauma thing was never really faced , Adam's step father thing at the end felt random and unsatisfying .. now that I know that the story is over I keep thinking seriously ? that's it ?! The plot was interesting but I don't feel like all loose ends were tied neatly.
Overall I enjoyed this book a lot but the story needed more resolution at the end or at least a second part to deal with all the issues that the main characters suffer from , I mean sure they get their HEA and all but it needed more.

This had potential but I think it was a bit rushed and some of the scenes were just uncomfortable and unrealistic. Again, another book with a skittish virgin who immediately has sex like a porn star. She doesn't even let her best friend hug her because she was abused as a kid, and all of a sudden, she lets a stranger do all sorts of things because its "lust at first sight"? Their first sexual encounter in his office was just awkward, but I read it in one night, and it kept my interest sooooo, lol i gave it 3.5 Stars

This book angers me. I mean I like it but, seriously the way the guy Alex talks to the girl Kate is ughh I want to punch him in the face. I had to constantly put the book down because I was ready to throw it at a wall. Kate is stubborn which is sightly annoying and Alex that man needs to chill he has this whole stalker-like thing going on and it's really annoying cause Kate clearly has no interest in you. But then bam Kate's all over Alex which is sweet but in a weird way it's miss leading at least to me it was.

This started out well enough, especially for a virgin meets millionaire type of book. However, it became super rushed. It felt like the author had individual scenes written and then just smash them together. It was a shame, because this book had a lot of potential. My favorite part of any romance the getting to know you part. But this book had very little of that. The relationship went from 0 to 60 in two seconds.

I really enjoyed Joya Ryan’s Reign series (mainly because of the 2nd book), so I was excited to start this series. Much of this felt rushed and in some places read as though pages were missing. A scene would abruptly stop and then skip ahead leaving me wondering how we got there and what happened in between. I’ll likely pick up Ryan’s next series but am likely done with this one.

Overall, Break Me Slowly was a solid and reasonably enjoyable story. It definitely had the trappings of all the other polished billionaire/young naive woman stories that many of us have read ad nauseam since the popularity of such books. Adam and Katelyn were not much different from the protagonists in similar books. They were both damaged and the two of them were bound together by their brokenness. Katelyn's shade came as a result of the damage--mental and physical--inflicted on her by a disturbed mother. Adam's darkness was a bit more deeper, or so we can assume. My issue with this book is that Adam dug all into Katelyn's past. He new about everything that happened to her. Adam's past. Seriously, not even an honorable mention. The reader is able to glean what happened to Adam based on the clues provided but the situation was never discussed between he and Katelyn, and I do not count the ending when Adam handed her his psychiatrists file. File does not equal discussion. I also had a problem with the way Adam treated Katelyn when my Kindle was at 95%. Frankly, I had issues with the inequity in their relationship of him taking everything from her and giving nothing of himself. However, that ending when he basically turned their relationship on its axis ticked me off. I'm not joking...my Kindle was at 95% and I was thinking, "What the heck was that? What just happened here?!?!" I felt like clawing his face off. His emaciated apology was nothing to combat how he treated Katelyn. Sure, I understand he was damaged but you do not treat someone you love and who loves you that way.
But I could have tolerated all of that. The book was still a four star read for me even with those issues. What dropped the story a full star for me was the scene in the town car after Katelyn and Adam left the restaurant after running into his stepfather. His response...his physical reaction...with Katelyn was absolutely unacceptable. There was no reconciling that behavior for me.
The ending felt rushed because as I mentioned, at 95% there were major unresolved issues with their relationship. Ryan had 3% to resolve the story which felt hastily done. An epilogue of some sort would have been nice to show their lives in the future.
Finally, the Megan, Brian, Tim, and Grace element to the story felt too contrived. I get that there had to be a setup for Posess Me Slowly but the integration and execution was lacking. The storyline felt too random--like forcing a square peg in a round hole. It should have felt seamless but, as it was, it only felt like a bland afterthought.

First of all, Katelyn is one of the worst heroine ever. I know I've just started reading this book but she's really an idiot?
She wanted to go out with him when she doesn't even know him. He's a stranger for God's sake. So what if he bought you a blouse because he ruined yours. That doesn't mean you can think of inviting him for coffee. What if he's a serial killer mmh? Normally, when a heroine met someone like Adam, rich and beautiful, they try to stay away. They play hard to get. But do you? No. You just want to go out because he's gorgeous. Honestly you're so stupid. And after he asked you to dinner, you asked him to go for coffee. AHHHHHHHH. He asked you out, why are you asking him out again? Omigod. Kill me now.
And Adam what's with the jealousy? You just met her and you're already fuming and glaring at her friend? Shouldn't you get to know her more before you start being jealous and shit? What's with the attitude eh? It's a bit too much for my liking.

I freely admit, I do like me some billionaire meets virgin BDSM romance from time to time, although I still haven't tried out EL James and Silvia Day. I have read good stories, excellent stories and bad ones, and then I have read Break Me Slowly which I will shelf under worst SoG formula book ever.
If there's one thing I am a sucker for it's a gentleman dom, a hero who is commanding, sexy as hell and takes what he wants, but simultaneously is well behaved and chivalrous towards women in general and the heroine in particular, all of which Adam Kinkade is ... NOT.
Imagine a seriously damaged virgin heroine who is invited to dinner by a gorgeous, beautiful billionaire. So far so good. She's a bit reluctant, doesn't know how to deal with it, all in all is in way over her head and maybe even reacts a little bit stupid, due to all her hormones playing up. But nothing too TSTL for this reader. She discovers that Mr. Kinkade bought the residential building where her bipolar mothers lives and that he is planning to tear it down for new development. Enraged she races into his office to ask him WTF ... and he says "kneel", she drops down and for the first time in her life feels really really good. Huuuh? She then proceeds to give him a blowjob, her first one of course as she's, as already mentioned, a virgin. After coming in her mouth he leaves her unsatisfied and tells her that she really has "to work" for it if she wants to talk to him again.
It's clear, he's an asshole, and sorry, I usually don't use such words, but in this case I can't think of anything else suitable. But the heroine, apparently, is so overwhelmed by lust that she doesn't slap him but becomes his willing doormat. Grrr, worst DNF in 2013.

This was my first book by this author, and let's just say it was so good I went and purchased book 2 and 3 of this series. This is book one of Joya Ryan's The Shattered Series. It was everything I want in a romance, interesting story, strong and likable characters and hot sizzling passion between the two main characters, in this case Katelyn and Adam.
The opening of the story as graduate student Katelyn Gunn heading for her first day of assistant teaching when she is almost hit by a car. The nervous and inexperienced Kate is shocked to realize that it isn’t the near death experience that has her heart racing, but the sinfully sexy man behind the wheel. Adam Kinkade is ultra-wealthy, devastatingly handsome, and the most powerful distribution mogul in Chicago—he is also the first man who ignites emotions inside of her other than fear. Adam is a man used to getting what he wants. And he wants Katelyn—naked and often. Willing to stop at nothing to possess her, he relentlessly pursues Kate only to discover that it is she who possesses him—completely. Passion turns to possession, and Adam’s controlling nature and seductive hands sparks a desire so strong, it destroys her own demons. But when desire turns to addiction, Kate fears that it will rage too hot, and shatter her sanity.
Ms. Ryan can really write passion but she is also able to write a sensitive story about a young woman who grew up in a household of abuse and a man who has had to get over his own inner demon's.
Very good novel with the right blend of story and passion with no cliff hanger. So glad I have discovered this author and can't wait to read her other two novels in the series. Sensual level I would put at a 9. Highly recommend this read.

I can't decide between 3.5 or 4 stars...
As much as I hate to say this (because writing original stories is hard these days), this book is obviously a FSoG rip-off. Not that I don't like FSog, God knows I totally do, but I'll appreciate a book more if it has its own 'life'. This book could be so much better, if only I weren't constantly reminded of FSoG as I flipped through pages.
But let's set that issue aside, I want to say I love CEO Adam Kinkade (you heard me right, he's kinky) and Katelyn Gunn. They're both survivors of scary abusive childhood and anyone who has gone through hell deserves some random applause. It's not easy for them to work on their past, but for the sake of their love they eventually did. I'm glad, HEAs always brighten even my gloomiest days.
