The story that began as a simple Retriever case has become the tale of the fight against a thousand years of evil.
The wolf shifters have Niceros to take down. The Vampire Twins have to deal with Cassius. The Second Kingdom is in disarray and Simeon, Asher and Phin are desperate to calm the unrest.
An alpha needs to accept his role, a blood demon has to become the King he was meant to be, and the Vampire twins have to end the war.
Against all this, Reuben and Ethan, lovers separated for a millennium, are thrown back in to a war to end the poison that is Ludvik Peitrol.
In a battle on the barren fields of Arberfan is where this story will end.

My one star is just a personal distaste. First off this series got way more serious and turned out NOTHING like I expected when I read book 1. But when I read book 1 I really fell for Joseph and his dead love of his life. And I get in book 3 he falls in love with Phin. I guess I kind of don't understand why it wasn't harder and there weren't more emotions to struggle with with Ethan came back. They both had their other loves-Ethan's predated Joseph-but if you love someone shouldn't there be....more. Love doesn't just disappear, it's not like they broke up. Ethan died. But I saw no lingering of emotion, and in the end when (yeah, spoilers SPOIIILLERS) Ethan died with Reuben, they turned into ghosts and neither, but especially not Ethan, turned back to acknowledge the twins. If the twins could see them, they could see the twins. You'd think he'd turn back to his friends, the other love of his life (how many times were we told Ethan loved him back?) and at least wave or smile. Nope, just Rueben saying, before death, look for us in the book. Even if you moved on, or went back to your first love, I feel like there'd still be emotion and caring not this lack of interaction and thought or easy acceptance. So, my one star is just a personal opinion because I'm really sensitive about topics of love.
But also, I did not see all the plot and serious-tone when I started book one O.O
The Third Kingdom will be a world of equality and liberty for all. It took a monumental battle to destroy the evil looming over their world for a thousand years; nevertheless, all the prophecies have finally come true.
The Third Kingdom is the sixth book in the Supernatural Bounty Hunters series. Each book features a couple destined to be mates. In this episode, the mates are Ethan, a human and Reuben, a vampire. Ethan is the murdered victim in the first book The Vampire Contract. Vampire Micah Jamieson is falsely accused of killing Ethan. Wolf shifter Connor Strand is sent to arrest Micah and return him to the Glitnir Court. However, Micah and Conner are destined mates. So instead of turning Micah over to the court, Connor chose to run away with Micah.
Ethan and Reuben are part of the underground rebellion started by Micah’s twin brother, Joseph. The rebel’s mission is to ban discrimination by allowing good magic to openly flourish in the kingdom again; the old rules said two supernatural beings with magic cannot be together. The other part of the mission is to accept mixed bloodlines as equals; Asherkan is a blood demon that has royal elvish blood was rejected as the rightful King of the Second Kingdom.
RJ Scott has created a stimulating climax to this enjoyable series. The villain has been vanquished, lovers have been reunited for all eternity and the healing of a kingdom has begun. Also included is a list of all the titles and characters in the entire series.
This book was a let down and disappointment. I have purchased and read every book in the series and found them stimulating. This book wrapped up the series and answered all the questions and possibly will have a spin off series in the future. But it was too busy, too much and not thoughtful put together in just 116 pages. This story was supposed to be about Rueben & Ethan, but now just finishing the book I feel no closer to know them. We catch up with the other couples from the previous books, which was nice but the amount of focus on each couple in this short read without much focus on the main couple (in my opinion) I found frustrating. It seems to be rush to wrap everything up in a tidy little bow, but unfortunately the ribbon is frayed. Hopefully if there is a spin off series the end does not feel so abrupt.
I liked the ending, but there was one major issue towards the 3rd quarter of the book that really irked me.
*spoiler*
Connor wakes up to be reunited with his family and then*boom* he becomes Declan and Levi is handing him his clothes and DECLAN is reuniting with his family (Declan, might I add, admitted to having no family left except his distant cousin - Nick). Then, Levi & Declan are miraculously by themselves and no family remains in the seen.
This happened in a previous book as well with Declan and Connor getting mixed up when it came to the "family" issue. This time it was worse because it seemed like two separate scenes were merged into one.
The editing really needs to be stepped up. These seem like stupid mistakes to be missed by both the author and the editor.
I found that this installment was the best written of the six, and addresses each of the couples, both personally and for their roles in the final battle at Arberfan. The love and connection between brothers Joseph and Micah, as well as all of the mated pairs, is made evident in subtle ways, such as how Joseph can tell Micah the frequency and duration of Phin’s visits, how the various characters speak of their other halves to each other and the hope that they will succeed, and finally be able to live free.
Overall Series Review: This is an overall series review as you really can't read just one. Each book may center on a different couple but each is just another piece of the puzzle that is Supernatural Bounty Hunters. The mystery behind the vampire twins, Joseph and Micah, quest for peace leads us on a journey of blood, deceit, death, and love. Another great world created by RJ Scott that brings you a little bit of everything and makes for a great Halloween read. Who am I kidding? It makes for a great read anytime of the year.
As I have read this series I found it harder and harder to keep reading each book. By the time I have come to read this book, my main thought is to read it and get it over with so I can out this series behind me. Unfortunately while I usually enjoy books from Thai author, this is a series I don't see myself recommending or rereading.
There's 6 short stories split between two volumes in this series. Each story focuses on different couples but with a continuation of he overall story, to achieve peace in all of the Kingdom. There's a prophecy of vampire twins that will lead this revolution.
Because the books are shorter, I think it was a bit harder to achieve the full on chemistry with each couple, plus continue this intense story. But just because it falls a little short in that department, doesn't mean his wasn't a page turner.
Magic has become a rare thing in the Kingdom, and to admit that you are magic is admitting a sentence. Glitnir will try and use you for their own diabolical purpose. That is why Joseph, the leader of the Resistance, keeps his magic secret and his telepathy with his twin, a secret for as long as he can.
This series features numerous amounts of paranormals/shifters and what "class" each race holds. How some para's hold other classes in lower regards, you know, like society today, and how the twins and their mates are working so hard trying to fight for equality to bring ALL races together.
It is such a great plot and story line, I love the imagination of it all and how she interconnects different race as mates.
Being that these are all short stories that interconnect, I thought RJ did a great job wrapping it all up in the last book. It isn't just about one set of MCs, but all of them. Each doing their own thing to ensure they have backing in the Resistance. Not to mention, Joseph is trying to do all this without starting a war and losing precious life. He does good for the most part, yet some sacrifices must be made in the end.
Overall this was a great story and I liked visiting their world. Aside from some of the rushed chemistry, I give it 3.75*
