David H McTaggart was born and lives in central Scotland just outside Glasgow. He left school at sixteen with barely any qualifications, and started his working career in a bakery, which lasted two days.
He then spent a few months in panel shop in a garage, and struggled to find any meaningful work until he turned twenty-one, when he put himself through his LGV driving test and became qualified as a truck driver.
After a few years driving, working in various industries, he went to college for a few years. On leaving college he worked in a mobile phone manufacturing plant, before being made redundant when the plant closed. Then he returned to driving trucks, which he still does to this day.
