King
My good intentions always led to disaster. The cold hard truth is that I was never meant to be a father to Lily. Staying in Treepoint, Kentucky for a few weeks to get to know my daughter was meant to be a time of discovery, instead I find out that she’s married to a killer and living in a sex club. I’m going to find out how to destroy The Last Riders and give Lily the future she deserves.

Evie
He thinks I’m a whore; he doesn’t know me. I’m nobody’s fool, but he thinks he’s going to use me to find The Last Riders only weakness. That’s his biggest mistake of all. There’s more to me than meets the eye. King thinks he’s too good for me, that I’m less than dirt in his eyes. What the King of Queen City is going to find out too late is that I’m his judge, and I hold his life in my hands.

OKAY. I'VE ABSOLUTELY HAD IT WITH THE LAST RIDER HOES FEMALE MEMBERS AND THEIR HYPOCRITICAL DOUBLE STANDARDS!
description

CASE IN POINT:

'"Is this supposed to turn me on?” Evie turned back to face him, taking him by complete surprise. “Sorry, I don’t get turned on by women getting paid to take it up the ass. Nor being paid to pretend to be a high schooler.” Her eyes narrowed on his. “She is pretending, isn’t she?”
“Of course, I don’t deal in kids. What kind of man do you take me for?"
“Someone who would make a dime off someone taking it up the ass,” she replied sarcastically."'
~King [VIP Room 3], Kindle page 96

In the above quote, Evie implies that women who freely have sex with lots of men aren’t whores because [as Jewel loves to say] they simply “love to fuck”; it’s the women who fuck for MONEY that are the real whores. In other words, Evie’s better than the women who work for King because she GIVES it away while they CHARGE for it. What’s more, men who provide an environment and clientele for women who *GASP* get paid for sex, and have the audacity to *GASP* take a percentage for the privilege, are no better than the scumbags who sell children to child molesters.

TO WHICH I RESPOND:
description

First, the women who work for King are there VOLUNTARILY; they can leave at any time; they can CHOOSE another occupation. They CHOOSE not to. In fact, as soon as King realizes that one of his strippers is showing signs of distress, he immediately offers her an alternative CHOICE:

'“If you need to take something to get on the stage, I can put you on serving drinks.”
“No. The money’s not as good.
“Then don’t screw up again,” he warned without sympathy.
“I won’t."'
~King [VIP Room 3], Kindle P. 91

NOW, I ASK YOU: “If Evie looks down on King and his employees because they CHOOSE to earn a living doing the same thing she does for free, what does that make Evie?”

Second, we know Evie likes taking it “up the ass”. We also know she likes watching other club hoes females “take it up the ass”. Therefore, it’s safe to say that ass fuckery, of all manifestations, DOES actually turn Evie on.

WHICH BEGS THE QUESTION: “If Evie thinks “free” ass fuckery is a turn-on, but “paid” ass fuckery is a turn-off, what does that make Evie?”

Third, Evie’s accusation that King is no better than a pedophile pimp is not only unfair but also absurd. In exchange for providing a safe environment and a ready clientele to LEGALLY OF AGE women who CHOOSE to strip and/or have sex for money, King receives a portion of his employee’s income. When an arrangement is mutually agreed upon and monetarily beneficial to all parties involved, it’s not EXPLOITATION, it’s BUSINESS. It’s no different than hair stylists who give a percentage of their profits to the salon owner in exchange for the opportunity to acquire clients and a station to cut hair.

SO, YOU GOTTA WONDER: “If Evie considers profiting from women who CHOOSE to have sex with men, exploitation; but, considers membership to a motorcycle club that REQUIRES women to have sex with 8 male members, equal opportunity; what does that make Evie?”

THE ANSWER IS *Drum Roll Please*...
description

SPEAKING OF HYPOCRITES, MS. BEGLEY SEEMS TO BE A BIT OF ONE HERSELF.

Consider the following:

'"Evie didn’t apologize for her harsh words"'
~King [VIP Room 3]. Kindle P. 98

In Razer’s Ride, Razer tells Beth to “Stop it!” when her embarrassment made Evie “feel bad”. Last I heard, embarrassment was an involuntary emotion. Yet, Razer felt no qualms for making Beth feel guilty about something she had no control over. ~Kindle P. 154

In Shade’s Fall, Shade tells Lily to “Stop it” because she “pales” when Evie suggests she not knock drinking until she tries it. Hmmm…isn’t “paling” an involuntary bodily reaction? Yet Lily’s the one Shade reprimands for experiencing an internal reaction she cannot control, not Evie for comments she intentionally made to someone she knows has serious psychological issues with alcohol. ~Kindle P. 241

TRANSLATION: The only people who should feel guilt over making other people feel uncomfortable or bad, are those who have uncontrollable bodily reactions or emotional responses, while people who intentionally verbalize comments, or act in ways they know will be hurtful or embarrassing to others; get a pass.

description

Finally, Evie's snide comments about Desmond and Marta, "The Upper Class", pretentious food, expensive wine, and King's penthouse REALLY grated on my last nerve! Her disdain for Marta's lack of intelligence and superficiality is laughable considering dialogues involving Bliss & the other LR hoes females are limited to:
description

As for turning her nose up at King’s lifestyle, I guess "Thou Shalt Not Judge" only applies to things Evie approves of. If you like buffet style meals, cheap whisky, communal beds, and DNA spattered sheets, you’re in luck; if you don’t, you’ll be scorned. Evie hates salad? [I mean really, how pretentious could a salad be?], fine wine, and tastefully decorated living spaces; if you like those things, expect to be maligned.

SOUND FAIR TO Y'ALL?
description

BOTTOM LINE: If Ms. Begley ever wonders why so many people harbor an intense dislike for the LR hoes, it’s NOT because they let anyone with a cock [as well as some who don’t] fuck them; it’s because they’re repeatedly & unapologetically inconsiderate of other women’s feelings, intolerant of other women’s choices, and disparaging of anyone who lives a lifestyle different from their own. If she created situations where the hoes were held to the same standards as all the other women in her books, it would go a long way towards lessening our animosity towards them.

Lots of slut-shaming and double standards being expressed right here. Why are we so willing to forgive the heroes in the previous books for their promiscuous behavior and not the women? I think everyone who enjoyed any single book in this series should have to read this if just to confront their own discomfort with a heroine who enjoyed sex prior to the hero. Also, I feel like we should be way more disturbed that King is a super dick-bag, drug-dealer, and pimp than the fact that Evie enjoys sex. Just sayin'.

6/27/14 Update - I finished King today and really enjoyed it. Evie was pretty kick ass (and managed to get past my lingering resentment over her treatment of Beth in Razer's Ride). 5 stars for real. I hope Willa gets a book.

No. No. No. No. Well I liked the other books, but this one is too much. Come on. Evie? Really? And King thinks she's a whore? Well King isn't the only one.
I really hope the lead lady changes because that is just waaaaayyy too awkward cause she not only f***ed King's daughters husband but she's about to go after her dad.
And the way King is described I wouldn't expect him to end up with someone like Evie.
I think this character has reached her limit of whore-ness and it's just that in pretty much every book she's having sex with the lead male so I think I will SKIP this book before my head explodes. And as for the lead males... Well, in the previous books, they're just as bad as Evie and I've always felt a bit weird constantly reading about which club girl the hero was sleeping with, so yeah, I think I've had enough of this series. Soz.
P.S This is MY opinion and last time I checked, I was entitled to it.

Ok, I'm skipping this one. I'm not a fan of the club girls. I don't find them appealing as the main characters for books. I don't like how to the girls all the men are is an interchangeable dick. A perfect example of that is in Knox's Stand when Jewel was arguing with Diamond about Knox's dick. She was saying take this man or that man, but not Knox. All he was to her was sex, and while I know how it was meant in the book as a joke to prove a point, it still did not sit well with me. It also drove home the point of how the club girls really don't even know the men they were sleeping with all the time except for what they like, want, and need in bed.

On the flip side of it, it's a double standard because the men were just as guilty and well used as the women were, but they make great heroes at the end of the day. Why are we so much more forgiving of a man enjoying his sexuality than we are a woman enjoying hers? I have no idea, but there it is.

4.5 Loved it!

King is awesome in this story, but the character I fell in love with is Evie. I adore the fact that she accepts herself as she is, she never pretends to be someone else, she's not that fragile little girl who just wants to be accepted (like so many main characters in romance novels).

The story was great as well and I absolutely love Begley's writing style. She has a way of catching your attention and never letting go.
This is one of her best books, IMO.
Enjoy it!

I LOVE Jamie Begley's Last Riders, VIP, and SEx Piston books. I just couldn't finish this book. I got about 30% in and just couldn't wrap my head around a ho getting her HEA. First off, Evie has sex with Lily's husband and now goes after the father because Shade's asks her to spy on him? COME ON! Background on Evie comes out and she's raped when she was in the military by 4 guys. Shade finds her. She is loyal I get it....but WHAT rape victim (of that brutal) will do the things Evie has done? None that I know. Sorry I LOVE the other books and would recommend them to everyone but I just can't do this one. Sorry not my cup of tea.

Sure, I've had my Evie issues, everyone has, but keep your judgmental ass comments to your fucking self. Until you've lived her life, or say even read this fucking book, SHUT THE FUCK UP.

What the fuck bitches?!?!?! It's ok for a guy to do it, but fucking hell, let a female do it and she's the biggest fucking slut ever,

I didn't like "Razer's Ride" so I'm not really sure why I gave this book a try. Stupidity maybe? Yea. Must be stupidity. Because I subjected myself to more awfulness (if that's even a word).

Evie is a grade A bitch. She's not only a hypocrite (mocking others while she lectures anyone who looks her way), but she's also a snob, and a master at fishing for complements. The way she lured Shade into saying King's strippers could learn a thing or two from her made me want to puke.

I've decided not to read anything else by this author. She just can't seem to create likable characters. I realize that Evie's back story was supposed to excuse her standoffish behavior, hardened personality, inconsiderate comments, and slutty lifestyle; but it just doesn't work for me. A lot of people have abuse in their past but they don't use it as an excuse to treat others badly.

It would be nice if Begley would begin to create characters who actually learn from their past mistakes, make strides to overcome a painful past, and make marked, observable changes in their personality. I find no enjoyment in reading about people who never grow and mature as individuals. If I want to spend time with a shallow, selfish person who never changes, I'll read "Gone With the Wind." At least Scarlett isn't rewarded for being a self-centered bitch.

Não consigo simpatizar com as mulheres do clube... elas passam de mão em mão servindo todos os caras...
Mas a história é bem escrita e vou continuar acompanhando a série.
---------------
I can't empathize with the women of the club they passing around serving all the guys ...
But the story is well written and I will continue to follow the series.

=====================
Evie gripped Train’s ass, pulling him closer. “Fuck me harder.”

She was hardly ever in here unless there were two or more of them fucking. Jewell and Cash had left an hour ago, trying to catch a few hours of sleep before the day started.

Jewell laughed. “Ever since he fucked Killyama, it’s like he’s trying to prove his manhood.”

“He nearly got Lily killed. The stupid bastard couldn’t protect her when she was a kid, but he thinks he can make up for it now.”

“Anything, one little piece of dirt that can get Lily hurt, and I want to know.”

She had somehow expected Lily’s father to be much older, not this aggressively-in-your-face, sexy male. Wow, Evie thought.

“It’s more of a sex club than a motorcycle club.” King’s hand tightened on one of the papers as he read.

Working at the factory all day and partying all night was becoming old.

“When has any woman turned me down? Plus, she’s a whore. She fucks all the men in The Last Riders and most of the women. Why would she turn me down?”

I don’t know which I’m going to enjoy more: fucking her or getting Shade out of Lily’s life.”

“Did you tell her about me?” Evie licked her dry lips. “No.”

She didn’t know what was wrong with her lately.

“We put you in Knox’s old room. That cool?” “That’s perfect. He had the biggest...

It took several attempts before she managed to shove a snoring Train off her.

Sliding out from between him and Cash, she managed to get out of the bed.

“That would be nice.” “You’re content at the store instead of using your degree? After all, anyone can be a cashier.”

Willa was extremely shy and self-conscious of her weight.

“Does Lily know you’ve fucked her husband?”

“Anxious to get back home to all the men?” he said cynically.

“You fuck them all or just certain ones? Do Beth and Lily participate in the orgies?”

They are both in committed relationships, and they are completely faithful to each other. I, on the other hand, can fuck anyone I want.”

“I would never fuck you, either. I could catch something.” His contempt drilled a hole through her heart.

After Beth said he looked worse than he was, it didn’t take much to figure out he’s trying to place a wedge between me and The Last Riders.”

He stared out at the dark mountains, wondering whose bed Evie was in tonight.

King came out, reaching his hand back in for the beautiful woman sliding out of the car with a seductive smile aimed at an elegant King dressed in an expensive dark suit. King’s arm circled the woman’s waist as he escorted her inside the expensive restaurant.

She leaned forward, putting her face in his. “I know you’re old,” her insult struck a nerve, “but there is such a thing as condoms. I’m not the one who doesn’t practice safe sex.” “I’m not old. I’m only forty-three.”

If she wasn’t The Last Riders’ whore, he would have already made a move to fuck her himself.

“Do you make a lot of money, filling factory orders?” “That was a crass comment, besides being out of line.”

“Why? Because I’m Lily’s father?” “Yes.” “Why would that make you feel uncomfortable when you’ve slept with her husband?”

“Are you always a greedy bitch when you fuck?” “Yes, and I prefer doing it without all the chit-chat,” she moaned.

“Whose fucking t-shirt are you wearing?” King looked furious. Evie licked her lips. “Train’s.” “Take it off.” “You’ve got to be kidding me!” “Take it off!”

King came out, his arm circling the waist of a beautiful blonde. She appeared younger than her with a blue, ruched dress so tight Evie was amazed she could walk. King opened the car door for her and then bent down to give her a lingering kiss before helping her into the car. Shutting the door, he tapped on the roof, signaling Henry to drive away.

She wondered how many times over the last few weeks Henry had dropped off one of King’s lovers just to pick her up afterward.

Well, he had shown her he could keep his emotions under control. She could, too. It was time she got back on track and did the job she had been sent to accomplish.

“Why? Did that bother you? You don’t give a damn who The Last Riders fuck.” “I didn’t care. I just wasn’t in the mood for a threesome.” “I thought threesome’s were your forte.” Evie’s

Begley can have me lmao one moment (just think Sex Piston and her crew) then have me dropping my mouth open in shock at the turn events in the story. This book was definitely no different. I absolutely love how the series are combined. Now it's not just about one motorcycle club, but THREE! The Last Riders, The Predators and the Destructors/Blue Horseman.

This story opens doors for a few more books too! At least three that I could see. I see Penni's story coming soon. And Lucky... And more surprising, I can see more in store for Lily and Shade! (I think that's everyone's favorite love story in Jamie's world). I'm really interested to see which book that individual story is going to fall into. There is a world of more danger up ahead for these club(s). I love watching these lives continue on and learning about all their pasts.

The only thing that saved this book for me was the fact that Shade was in it. I honestly would have stopped reading this book if I wasn't afraid I would miss something for the next book in the lineup. Here's to hoping the next book doesn't disappoint me like this one did...

Cheyenne‘s review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

3.5 STARS

I am going into this review stating very bluntly that I HATE Evie, I have since Razer’s Ride. My fellow Guilty Pleasure reviewers can attest to my hatred of Evie, it is well known. I kept them entertained with my random comments while reading this book. I was hoping that in King that she would find redemption, but sadly at least for this reviewer, she did not. I am not going to spoil anything because that is not who I am. You do see that she hasn’t had a happy go lucky life, far from it, and I did feel for her, but nothing is an excuse for basically being a whore for a club. And I am sorry folks but to me that is what Evie is. In my eyes she isn’t a member, none of the women are. They flaunt who they have been with openly, and in the process hurt the wives of the members by doing so.
What I did love was King. Was he perfect? Oh hell no but he honestly had reason to change his ways and he set out to do just that. King was no saint, please don’t let my love for him make you feel that way. He did what he did to survive, he thrived and then knew when to walk away. He didn’t just walk away for himself, he did it for a very good reason. What did you think I was going to tell you? Sorry folks but nope you will have to read it for yourself to find out.
Now before you all start throwing things my way let me state that I actually enjoyed this book and I am a fan of these series. I am not in any way bashing the book, it was well written. It made me pissed, laugh and want others to be happy. I just have an issue with Evie, that is all. I am torn writing this review. I really liked certain parts and really hated others. I really just hope that the rest of the VIP series and Last Rider’s series go uphill from here because I have enjoyed both up until the last couple of books. There are some twists and turns in this book and I am looking forward on how they may play out for the rest of the series. I really want Cash’s Fight to come out and redeem this series for what it was when it started; gritty, sexy and leaving us readers wanting more.

This is Evie and King's story.

Evie is one of the original women in The Last Riders's club. She sleeps around and she enjoys their company. However, she is hiding her past. Only a few are privy to her past and she would like to keep it this way.

King is Lily's Dad and also the King of Queen City. He has legal and illegal businesses. After getting hurt trying to help Lily, he ends up needing help from Beth and later on Evie to change his dressings.
King thinks he can get Evie to open up about Shade and the MC. Shade wants Evie to get close to King.

One of the two will win in the end.

My thoughts:

I like King a lot. He has helped Sawyer and Vida before. He has a good heart despite being in illegal dealings. I liked him even better in this one. I think Jamie humanized him a great deal and I was pleased with his character.
I'm not going to lie, Evie was not my favorite character. I thought she was rude at times and King should have just walked away from her. He deserved better.

In regards to the secondary characters:
Beth and Razer are still sweet together and when Sex Piston talks to Razer, my heart broke a little bit.
I'm glad Lucky is back but I'm sad to see Pastor Dean's gone. I know Penni and Jackal need a book and Train and Killyama. I wonder if Brooke will create more problems for the MC.
I'm committed to this series and I'm excited about Cash and Rachel being next.

"I didn't want to love anyone, either, but the one thing I've learned in my line of work is, you can't stop a bullet once you've pulled the trigger."

Sensuality level (1 being kissing only and 5 being Penthouse Letters graphic:: 3, some graphic scenes, but not particularly titillating
Grammar errors/typo level (1 being what you'd see in any book, 5 being this read like a rough draft): 2, noticeable errors

Would I re-read?: Yes, I probably would. I don't think this author is for everyone, as she does write a different kind of story, but what I particularly liked about this book was that she took a heroine who has sex--and has sex with lots of guys and done it frequently--and made her a heroine of her own book. I think that's pretty much equality at its finest and I hate how many people I've seen say they won't read this because they can't get past a heroine who's been so sexually active in the series. Many readers seem to hold heroines to a much higher standard of purity than heroes, and that seems to be a form of silent slut shaming, even if people wouldn't want to admit it. I'm glad to see a heroine who's unashamed of her sexuality.

Any problems I had with this book lie purely in story structure, and have nothing to do with the hero or heroine.

Wow, I can't believe I'm writing this but..... I love King....and I love Evie ....and I loved them together. I really didn't see how their story would play out when I heard about this book, but as always Ms. Begley is amazingly talent and kind of a genius. I wasn't a fan of King in Shade and Lily's book. The way that each story intertwines is really cool and it sucks me in each time I read one of her books.

King wants to move forward and try to be a good dad to Lily but he's not thrilled with her choice in a husband. He was determined to break Lily and Shade up by digging into his past and proving to Lily that he's a bad guy. Once I read that, I started to get real nervous b/c I'm a BIG Shade fan and I didn't want to find out anything about him that would change that (other than what we already know about the Last Rider's). Luckliy, Lily succeeds in changing Kings mind and in doing so they fall for one another. I love each and every member in these books... We even get some time with Sex Piston! I find that whenever I read one of Jamie's books, as much as I want to devour it I take my time and savor it b/c I know I hate when it's over!!! I'll be looking forward to more from Ms. Begley. I think Cash's story is next. :-)

My favourite so far.

Before 'Shade's Fall' I'd never hear of the Last Riders or Jamie Begley, a friend of mine reviewed 'Shades' and I knew I had to read it, she said to really appreciate it I had to start at the beginning with 'Razer's Ride' and read them all, I was less than impressed with 'Razer's' and if it wasn't for the fact that I wanted the full a Shade and Lily experience I'd have given up, but I continued on and the books either got better and better or they just grew on me, maybe a mixture of the two. I loved 'Shade's Fall' and I'm glad I took her advice and read them all, I'll admit I wasn't sure about 'Teased' and 'Tainted' I didn't particularly like the blurb and it took me awhile to actually get round to reading them but again I was glad I did. So with all the background books behind me I was just waiting for this one, my hopes were high and I did worry that I'd built it up too much, especially when the cover was released, I read a book ages ago called 'King' by L J Dee and it was the same guy on the cover and while reading 'Shades' this is the guy I pictured so the King in this book was 'my' King, it couldn't be more perfect.
To say this is my favourite so far is huge because I loved 'Shade's' but this book is fantastic, it has everyone and everything, loads of Shade and Lily, The Last Riders, Penni, The Predators, Henry and of course King and Evie. I started reading this last night and half way through I tried to sleep but I couldn't I just had to know what happened, I was up until 2:30am reading this and I'm so glad I was, I just can't praise it enough, I loved it, can't wait for the next one, I was hoping it would be Penni and Jackal but Rachel and Cash are good.
There's always something in every book that I don't like as much as the rest, in 'Shade's' it was the thing with Knox and Diamond, just didn't see the point in that, the thing in this book was minor but I was disappointed in Lucky, I'd spoken to my friend before hand and we'd hoped that he wouldn't start having sex with all the girls, and I surprised how clueless he was regarding Willa but then he is male so I suppose we have to let him off, I thought he was perfect for Willa because she deserves someone special and I thought he'd win out over Rider and while I still feel he'll get the girl in the end I'm less sure he deserves her now he's proven to be a man-whore like the rest.
Fantastic book, loved every minute of it.

"King" is the story of Evie and King.

I have to say in all the last rider women, Evie is my favorite because she's so likable. Yeah she sleeps with every club member but why not? All the men did. Jamie pairs her with King, the mafia lord and Evie's stepfather.
In this short book, their romance begins with dubious intentions - both out to gain information from one another but turns into much more. It has moments of heartbreak and angst, but overall a sweet read.

My favorite parts were Lily and Shade. I loved how this book gave so much history of the last riders. Which is also why I don't see why this was a VIP book instead of last riders book. I also didn't appreciate the cliffhanger ending. King himself I find lackluster.

So.. After reading some of the reviews my curiosity got the better of me and I was hoping to read more of shade and lily so I decided to give this book a try.

Surprisingly I didn't hate it. I'm not saying that I loved it or that I want to read about bliss or jewell in the future or any if the club women but jamie really managed to deliver in this story.

King and surprisingly Evie actually grew on me.

It was a very heart wrenching tale on Evie's side As to why she ended up with the last riders and why she is the way she is.

All I can add to that is i hope shade destroys Brooke! What a horrible piece of work !!

Oh...you girls are gonna LOVE King!! I found that I love Evie even more after reading KING...she is truly amazing...and I am so happy that Jamie gives us her under belly for a change!!

Full Review closer to release date, but know that KING should be on your Must Read List!!

If you are waiting for KING...make sure you have read The Last Riders and The VIP Room Series, not that you need to...but WHY wouldn't you!!

4.5 Stars

One of the best in the VIP and Last Riders series. The author continues to surprise me; my two favorite books have been about characters I thought I could care less about (Knox and King). This book set the stage for several other potential couplings/stories lines that I'm very excited to read. I hIghly recommend this book.

Evie’s a very strong woman, definitely someone who’d be a wicked bff. King is such a business man, Penni is awesome especially when she almost made King, Ice, Jackal, and Henry have heart attacks 😂😂😂 and Shade-always the protector!! Oooooh, a new villain is in town: Brooke😳 Poor Willa!!! I love Sex Piston and her crew, it’s fantastic how the males scurry away from them🤪 Lucky still pouting…over spilled cupcakes 😆🧁😆
Gotta admit, I had tears again🥺😭😭 WoW❣️❣️❣️

KING AND EVIE

After the drama in the last book Shades Fall, Lily now knows that King is her Father. After things settle and King has had time to reflect he decides he's not happy that Lily is married to a man like Shade. He stays on in Treepoint hoping to find a way to get Lily away from Shade. But King has no idea who he's dealing with, the Last Riders are not just any MC there's a lot more to them than King realises. But he will soon find out who he's messing with. Shade assigns Evie to keep a close eye on King. Neither King or Evie are fools, they've both been through a lot in life. When King returns home, Evie Follows with Penni, Shades half sister. It's there in King's city where he runs things that he and Evie get closer.

I must admit that I wasn't too keen when the author announced that she was writing Evie's story, she's a member of the Last Riders and one of the club women. But if there had to be a story featuring one of them I'm glad it was Evie, I honestly have no interest whatsoever to read books featuring the other club women, Bliss in particular.

I liked King and Evie together they were a perfect match, though I did feel the sex scenes were rather low key between them. The other characters from the previous books were fairly prominent as well. There are some new characters that are introduced, one who has a connection to Evie. That seems like it's going to feature heavily in the future. I'm also finding it difficult to accept the fact that Pastor Dean is no more. He didn't seem to waste any time in moving back into club life and all that entails. He's firmly now established as his alter ego Lucky. I was surprised that his former flock seemed to so easily accept that without even a second thought. I like how Shade will go to any length to protect Lily, I just wish it didn't involve Shade telling Lily so many lies, even if they are lies by omission. It also seems now that the two separate series The Last Riders and The VIP Room seem to be merging so you'll need to read both if you want to be kept in the loop.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS HERE............
There's a claim made by Evie in this story about her and Shade. All I have to say is that's not how it appeared in a scene from Knox's Stand. Nor when Shade confessed to Lily in Shade's Fall. How he had enjoyed all the women in the house except for Beth, Winter and Diamond. Or when Lily got upset when the club women went on about how wonderful the shower was in Shade's room, Evie included. Overall I liked this story three and a half stars for me.
