Dominic Hearst is a SEAL who has to leave his little mountain hideaway every once in a while when duty calls. He's found life and happiness away from the madness in the sleepy little town with his young wife of six years. Together they have a love that nothing can come between, or so he thought. Until his last deployment when he returns home to rumors of his wife in the arms of another man. Not one to take that lightly he goes on a rampage set on destroying the guilty parties, until his wife turns up pregnant and claims the baby is his. She's always proclaimed her innocence about the night in question but he was too angry to hear. Now things were coming to light that shed some doubt on the rumors and this hard as nails soldier has to get to the truth before he destroys everything he'd ever wanted in life.
I will keep this short and sweet hero thinks his wife is cheating on him and treats her like garbage. He kicks her out and won't listen to her explainations! Wow and let's not forget the whole pregnancy thing! Basically I wanted to do this to the hero the first half of the book:
Omg this hero was one crazy SOB alpha for sure, but honestly it's not worth 3.99 for less than 60 pages. I should have just skipped it. That would be my recommendation here unless you can find it for under one dollar I would skip. He does eventually gets his head out of his ass but by then It was too late! Still love the author but this book was very hard to love with grammar and sentence structure mistakes galore.
Wow what a cover. (mine is a dude) I read this a couple of weeks ago when I was stressed and looking for easy book trash… and J.S. typically delivers … but her earlier stuff is rough. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have read this had I noticed it was from 2014.
The book starts with the H (Dom) already having kicked the h (Maddy) out of their house because she kissed another dude at the bar while he was on a mission. He is SUPER DUPER/HULK SMASH FURIOUS and won’t even allow her to speak. Stuff happens, things are revealed and that’s the plot. 🤷♀️ Some weird bits happen like her going into heat and drugs that make people do crazy stuff for weeks.
Bottom Line- I enjoy smut, but it needs to be somewhat edited and to make sense…this delivers neither. There are so many editing issues, but the biggest problem for me was the lack of a logical plot. It needed a lot more drama and things to be a little fleshed out.
I tend to be really picky when picking up books with military men still active. I hate reading over the top bullshit that I know would never happen. Since this was short I figured what the hell. Not only that, but the description sounded interesting. Many wives do cheat on their man as soon as deployment starts. I swear I want to cunt punt those bitches.
Anyway, back to the point. There were some definite roll of the eye moments but it wasn't bad. It's your typical Jordan Silver book. Hot sex, alpha guy, meek little girl. I kind of wish it went on. It had a lot of detail I. The beginning and then just ends. I'm still confused why the girl did what she did.
I thought I had read just about all of the Jordan Silver books that were out, apparently I missed a couple. If you have read any stories by JS, you know she can do a sexy alpha. This story was no exception.
Dominic put the A in alpha. He was OTT with Madelyn in every way. Hopelessly devoted in love, he's crushed when he comes come from a deployment and hears that his wife was seen in the arms of another man. He gets so angry that he is horrible to her and then goes and roughs up the other man. He doesn't even let her get a word in, just tells her to get out. He actually was pretty harsh with her.
Madelyn is crushed. She so in love with Dominic and she knows she would never cheat on him. She doesn't know really what happened because she doesn't remember that night. She is hurt because Dominic was so mean, but she can't even defend herself. Now she finds out she's pregnant and has to tell him he's going to be a dad, although he doesn't even want to see her.
Once new information comes to light, Dominic starts to see the error of his ways. Now he has to get to the bottom of the situation that is quickly becoming more than it first appeared. Cue the tremendous grovel. I will say that he did try to make it up to Madelyn. A few things that bugged me though -
-Dominic didn't even give her a chance to defend herself (even though she couldn't remember) He just wrote her off as a cheater and sent her away. He claims she is his soul mate but he was quick to believe others
-there was no explanation why
-he wouldn't listen to anything Madelyn had to say but when her friend told him that something was suspicious that night, he instantly looked into and believed her (thank goodness he did though)
--ott alpha male who head over heals --weak heroine --no cheating whatsoever --sizzling sex scenes-classic JS --no ow drama --om drama -see above --hero pushes heroine away for a few days --good grovel --ok epilogue with HFN ending. It was just a year out and would have liked a better look into the future
A very short novella, not worth the price. Many things I didn’t like- and the hero’s behavior to the heroine wasn’t one of them, unlike many readers. - the heroine went partying with her friends and actually flirted and kissed ow while the hero, a SEAL, was risking his life on a mission. So he had all the reasons to be hurt, offended and awful to her. He was always truthful and faithful even if he was far from home and the only one thing he wanted from her was she behaved truthfully to him. Yes, when he found out she kissed om he threw her out of their house and told her awful things but lets be honest, if he had been the cheater we would have expected that she threw him out so… no double standard for me, she was guilty and deserved all his scorn. And after all, since the book is also written from his pov, we know he loved her, wanted to take her back and forgive her but was unbelievably hurt. Isn’t it reasonable? Imo yes, it is. So maybe his behavior was the only thing I liked and understood of all the book. Then I didn’t like many other things. - the length. Too short and cut, but actually there’s only a big misunderstanding that is solved in not so much time. - half of this very brief novella was sex. After the misunderstanding is cleared all the rest was sex. Meh. - his language was coarse, rude and swearing. More fit to a 17 old rapper with anger management issues than to a 34 yo navy SEAL. Not for me. When his son is born he refers to the baby as “the little fuck”, as an endearment. I don’t know if the author thought that since he’s a man he must think on those kind of … terms. The story could have been good, a wife who kisses om in front of other people in the town bar, then she admits all and after some days she tells the hero she’s pregnant. I don’t want to reveal too much but she was a victim and the hero too was a victim, but I really understood his reaction. But something was not right, maybe the writing style, maybe the too many missing things, I know I really wanted it to end. And all that swearing. It’s not a ya book. I haven’t really appreciate the reading, it was too short, too focused on sex and too little on the characters’ personality and marriage. Not for me.
A woman's body went through enough wear and tear, what with giving birth and then suckling a kid for her to have to do this shit to herself. Any man who didn't appreciate his woman after that shit, that made her feel like she had to whip herself into a frenzy trying to get back into a size two or what the fuck ever, was a fucking dick. 3 stars!
Dominic and Madelyn have been married for five years. She was eighteen when they married and he was twenty-six. He is of course her first everything. For him it was love at first sight and his feelings for her have only gotten stronger.
Dominic, a Marine on leave is excited to be home and spend time with the love of his life. A few days into his return he hears some rumors about an outing his wife had with some of her friends, one being Simon, a guy she has known all her life. There is mention of some improper behavior happening.
Dominic goes straight home because he needs to know what this is all about. He talks to his wife, the love of his life, the only woman he has ever loved, like a husband that has questions and needs answers to the things he has heard.....(Not even close!!)
Does Dominic know this to be fact?? NO! Because his wife doesn't have a chance to say a word while he hurls hurtful, demeaning, disparaging insults.
Just Wow!!
I am aware reading is entertainment, especially these type of books. So I am usually okay with the OTT crazy alphas written by this author. A lot of times I find myself chuckling at some of the nonsense. After all they are books and not something that I would be agreeable to in real life. But this.....Hell No!
All I can is I am a masochist, because I actually finished this book. I needed to know what in the world happened with Madelyn and I also needed to see this guy crawl thru hot burning coals as he begged his wife for forgiveness.
Well, it did not happen. She has to come back to him because
A few days later he has a suspicion as to what may have happened. He is of course sorry (pig!) and works at getting to the bottom of things. (Loser!) And people will pay for hurting his beautiful, defenseless and innocent wife. (The nerve of this guy!)
3 1/2 stars, When Dominic comes home from over seas' he finds out his wife has been unfaithful. Angry and hurt Dominic throws Madelyn out. Now the only thought on his mind is revenge, but Madelyn comes back to tell him she is pregnant. Dominic isn't sure at first if the baby is his but finally admits to himself that the baby is in fact his. Excited but still angry Dominic lets Madelyn move back in for the sake of the baby. Trying to move forward for the bay's sake Dominic still struggles with the feelings of betrayal from the one person he trusted more than anyone. Going out one night to clear his head Dominic is told something that makes him question what happened that night with his wife and her friend. Now Dominic is a man on a mission to find out the truth and to fix the damages he has done.
This was a nice fast read. Dominic starts off as a big fat jerk but quickly redeems himself and fixes all that he has done, he is Jordan Silvers typical hero: possessive, strong, determined, and sometime too stubborn to see whats in front of him. The intimate scene's were great and though the story was short it had everything to make it a complete story. I would have like the see the villain pay and not just hear about it but overall this was a fun hot read. *This book is told from both Dominic's and Madelyn's point of view(but mainly Dominic's)
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
3.5/5 stars
Dominic is a SEAL who has returned from deployment and hears rumors that his wife was caught making out with her best childhood friend, Simon. Dominic is a zero tolerance guy and doesn’t want to listen to anything his wife says. In his defense his wife Maddy keeps apologizing and crying. He kicks her out and is not nice about it. She shows up at their house a few days later and tells him she’s pregnant. It’s Dominic’s baby so he lets her back in the house so he can keep an eye on her for his kids sake. He’s still very angry with her and has even gone to see Simon and beat him. One evening he’s feeling particularly mean and walks out of the house as Maddy has dinner ready and goes to a diner in town, there he sees Maddy’s friend Brenda. She has hit on him a couple of times and he’s rebuffed her, he’s not a fan of her. While he’s waiting for his food another friend of Maddy’s comes to his table. She tells him something was not right the night they all went out, Maddy was not acting like herself and Brenda wouldn’t let anyone but Simon close to her. She tells him he needs to find out what happened that night, she doesn’t think Maddy is to blame for anything that people are saying. The more he calmly thinks of it the more he realizes that his wife would never cheat on him, he has a bad feeling that there is more to this story. When he gets home he gets a hair of Maddy’s and sends it off to be tested by a marine friend of his. As the two talk he is more and more certain that his wife was drugged. Poor Maddy has been dealing with bad morning sickness and Dominic has been taking good care of her. At first reluctantly but now with genuine feelings. He even lets her back into their bedroom and when she’s feeling better they have sex, lots of it. He doesn’t tell her is suspicions yet but is back to his loving caring self. Maddy is grateful that he has forgiven her. When the results come back positive for GHB he apologizes and tells her he messed up, Maddy consoles him and has such faith in him that he feels even more of a jerk for not trusting her. He acknowledges that his wife was doubly wronged. Once by a trusted friend and second by him not having faith in her. He finds the drug dealer and gets confirmation that it was Brenda that set Maddy and Simon up. He talks to Maddy and gets all the details of what she can remember, which isn’t a lot because of the drug. Simon tells him what he remembers and he knows now for certain Brenda is responsible. He knows he can’t kill her so he messes with her by sneaking into her house and mixing things in her drinks to cause her to go nuts. He also tells key people that Brenda drugged Maddy. So everyone turns on Brenda. Thankfully the baby was just fine and all is ok with them, Dominic is even friends with Simon now. Maddy has a healthy baby boy and soon the two are back to having lots and lots of sex.
Liked that Dominic admitted when he was wrong and apologized to Maddy. Would have liked more comeuppance for Brenda and to know why she did it. Would have loved for him to confront her and verbally eviscerate her. I wanted her to know this was her punishment for messing with Maddy.

Everyone that knows me knows that I can't stand for a man to be cruel to his woman, in any way. I always find stories like that very very emotional for me. I went into this book having complete faith in Jordan Silver. I knew she wouldn't break my heart.
But I will completely be honest in saying she took me for a ride of utter devastation to complete bliss. All in one short but sexy as hell book. I went from scared and upset to understanding and mad for both of them. Then pure happiness by the end.
Dominic is furious, he isn't gonna let her get one word in. I immediately was cringing and thinking oh my gosh! I don't know if I can take this. But as Jordan Silver has a knack for doing she brought me into the minds of the characters.
Dominic was only furious because of how much he loved Maddie. I saw how at the same time he wanted to give into this rage, he also had so much love and remorse. I actually bawled like a baby when he realized the truth and how much devastation his initial reaction had caused his love to feel.
One man against a town and nobody was left untouched. The ending was beautiful as it was HOT and I can't wait to dive into Jordan Silver land again.
Over the top alpha male. Military husband finds out his wife cheated on him but he can't divorce her cause she finds out she is pregnant. Hot and sweet read!
Hot Hot Hot. This read like a Lynda Chance story, but with less finesse and a LOT more swearing. Dominic is a raving jerk to his wife after he hears from several people that she messed around on him. Just when I was about at my limit of him being an over-the-top asshat to Madelyn, he starts to rethink things. Like maybe things aren't what they first seemed. Madelyn is pretty much a sweet submissive doormat. There isn't much to say about her, except that she works as a foil to Dominic's super hot alpha manliness. I didn't really mind that she was a doormat because I was so focused on the character of Dominic. I love the ending. I get tired of the books where the MCs are overly moral like some kinda disney story. Dominic goes all Hammurabi on the villain and it was sweet!
(Honestly, I have no idea if I should hide this review or not considering the fact the blurb already gives everything away) First thing first-Like who in their right mind thought this cover page was a good idea? You're probably wondering why I even read the book if I didn't approve of the cover page...My answer :Remember the quote "Don't judge a book by it's cover"? Ok, Who am I kidding? I read the ebook version ,as in, the one without a cover page and I was kinda hoping Jordan silver would come up with a book that actually makes sense like 'forbidden desire' to some extent did. Also the blurb felt different. Little did I know the book was gonna be like every other book by Jordan silver that goes on to degrade every girl within a 5 -mile-radius by calling them several extensions of the word 'bitch'. Take for eg-Bitch, Crazy bitch, Psycho Bitch, Stupid Bitch, yada yada(Like...we get it. There are a lot of female dogs foaming at the mouth let loose). My rating is a 2.5 and not a 3. Oh and apparently the guy is too much of an idiot (I totally didn't figure that out myself).

Now I am damn sure Jordan Silver ghost writes her books by different wannabe college student writers. There's no way so much quality difference between her books. I mean how can an author write one book with so much literary maturity and then write this kind of book that starts with a man saying to his wife "Bitch get the fuck out of my face". Nuh Uh....this is not the same author. This is some rookie kid who wrote this at one sleepless night for 10 dollars or something. The writing, the plot and the vocabulary everything was a disaster. And oh, the vocabulary part is easy because it all consists of different ways you can use the word "Fuck". Fuckity fucker fucking fucked. I mean, one should play a game of drinks everytime the word fuck comes out. The whole bar would drain and pass out. This book is a joke.
I swear people love to use drinking as a get out of jail free card. Ugh. Granted this author started this book off one way and then ended it another. I was truly hating on the FMC for her I’m sorries and I was drinking excuse. But the author cleaned her up by making her a victim.
So while I can see that it wasn’t what it looked like, I still didn’t like the FMC. I also didn’t like the MMC because he kept calling his soulmate a “b!t€h”. The lack of respect no matter the reason always makes me think the relationship isn’t truly solid. And lastly I didn’t like this story because there isn’t any real pay back or comeuppance for the villain.
This book is still way better than the last Jordan Silver book “Savage” that I read in terms of rational thought. That’s still not saying much. It’s not a well played out story.
I bought and read this years ago. When Ammy decided I wasn’t good enough after 20-ish years or so, then Ammy deleted all of my reviews. This was one of them. If I remember correctly, I was not impressed with the MMC. He’s not a Hero because he completely lost it and actually kicked her out of their house. She’s pregnant, too.
He beats up her friend without actually asking anyone what happened. He finally gets his head out of his behind but it was too late. I didn’t care that he finally figured it out. He was a loser…
It’s short, and there’s actually plot. But I don’t think I’d recommend this one. Ms. Silver has done better stories. This one just angered me…
Dominic and Madelyn captured my attention in this intriguing tale. Dominic is home from his SEAL tour to talks of his wife betraying him with rumors about who is really the father of her child. Madelyn tells him that she has not betrayed their vows, and Dominic is determined to get to the bottom of the rumors going around. Will his discovery rekindle the love between them and put the rumors to rest.
I found Ms Jordan last year sometime, I went a little crazy and I think I read 12 or 13 of her books in a row! She is so talented and writes about real things that goes on in real relationships! There's nothing wrong with fantasy and romance,! but sometimes reality is sexy!
OW drama = OW drugged the h which caused h to act out and kiss another guy; OW was secretly drugged repeatedly by the H which caused her to act strange and get her ostracized by the people in the town
Maddy screwed up...or did she? Dominic is all alpha male and in in love with his wife until she kisses another man. Lots of recriminations and anger until Dominic finds out what really happened. Great characters, a fabulous plot and writing. Fabulous story Jordan Silver!
This was a quick and hot story of a man who believes his wofe has betrayed him. She swears she doesn't and what insues is a mic of anger and finding out the truth.
God awful! The H is verbally abusive to the h. Like incredibly! No redeeming qualities AT ALL! I wound up flipping the pages just to end my eyeball misery.
