THE GRIPPING TALE FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR JADE JONES
Meet Angel Hardaway; an impressionable young girl who blindly falls in the hands of a handsome, smooth-talking pimp. After high school ends, life seemingly begins. But instead of taking the path that leads to a bright future, she instead takes a different, much darker route. James "Jay" Anderson not only opens Angel's eyes to a whole new world, he also introduces her to a quick and convenient way of making cold, hard cash. Floating on a dream, Angel obliges, unaware of the hidden danger that also comes with the territory. If her new gig and love interest aren't enough, things really become complicated after Angel becomes romantically involved with her long time friend, Maurice. With the two most important men in her life pulling her in opposite directions will Angel be able to tolerate it all? And most importantly, will she be able to handle her new-found hustle?
Nobody's Perfect Angel has been redesigned, republished, and renamed THOT
Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.
Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.
Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.
This was my first time reading from author Jade Jones. I really enjoyed this story it was over 500 pages but it was a quick read. This book takes you inside a naive girl named Angel who goes through so much life obstacles.
I felt bad for Angel but then she kind of put herself in her situation, she should have known to never trust sonmeeone she didnt know and she put way to much trust in Jay, who she mets walking home from a party one night. It is always the people you least expect who can turn your world upside down!
The title says it all no one is perfect, perfect is more what you see in yourself.
There were a few parts that seemed kind of rushed a bit like quickly going from one thing to another, that i had to go back and reread it like what happened, but it didnt really take away from the story, but I guess just something the author can be aware of for the next book.
Read this story and travel with Angel as she travels down a long obstacle only to wonder how did she get in this mess, she also tried to figure a way out. Overall a good book i did enjoy it and I will read more from this author!
This was my first read by this author and it definitely didn't disappoint. I'll be reading more of her work in the near future. Oh how I wanted to climb through the pages and save Angel. The devil had me fooled in the beginning but once he showed his true colors I couldn't wait for him to get a good beat down. I loved the friendship between Angel and Maurice, it didn't take a blind man to see the true feelings they held for each other and in the end that's what I believe saved lives. Oh and I loved T as well, his ultimate sacrifice melted my heart.
Page turner this was good even though Jay made me mad as hell I hope Angel gets her life together I'm on team Maurice side in this and I hope there will be a part 2 as always Jade Jones you've done it again
When I think of THOT I think of THAT HOE OVER THERE!
Angel had it all going for her. She worked hard because she wanted to make something of her self. She had it all going for her until she met Jay. The one man who could make all her dreams come through and she did not have to do anything but look pretty.
She quickly learned that Jay had alternate plans for her and that she was replaceable. She turned into someone that she herself did not even know. Even one of her best friend gets turned into a THOT. Angel did not know how she was going to get out of the web that she was in.
Maurice her only true love attempts to rescue her. Read or listen on audible to find out if he is successful.
I didn't see that ending. Angel went thru hell n back just to make it back to her true luv. She suffered so much n deserved that happiness. I'm that she doesn't end up in the same situation due to the way the book ended tho. I'm glad that Maurice could for her n take her back. This book was very good. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Angel was young and naive. It was easy for Jay to get to her because she was young and she was looking for someone to love her. She went through things that no young girl should have to experience. This is suppose to be a standalone but I would love to see more from these characters.
THIS BOOK WAS INTENSE!!! IT REALLY MAKES YOU OPEN YOUR EYES TO ALOT OF THINGS!! SO MANY YOUNG GIRLS GET CAUGHT UP IN THAT LIFE AND IT ENDS BADLY... LIKE TREECY!! I FELT SO BAD FOR HER!! HOPING FOR A PART TWO THO!!
I have been holding off on reading this one but it turned out to be BOMB.COM!!! It was so good. Poor Angel was not cut out for that life. I love Maurice and the man he became. I wonder what happened to Monique? Anyway is this the end or what?
This story title was different from what I expected, i thought it was going to be something completely different but I was completely wrong it was good and very interesting so many twist of events also
Great storyline. This was emotional read as well since Angel real went thru a lot. Maurice real loved Angel he was there for her during her high school years as well after when he came back for her. Great read....,
I definitely love the book however I believe the title is very misleading. I believe this is the first book that I have read by you and I will be reading more.
What would have made THOT better? The story did not flow smoothly, It needed better transitions from one event to the next;. so the listener/reader is not confused.. I felt there were a lot of holes. The story lacked character development.
What could Jade Jones have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you? More attention should be paid to word usage, character & story development, and continuity
How could the performance have been better? The narrator has a decent voice, but was the incorrect choice for this story. While I'm glad Cee Scott did not narrate the story, a females narrator should have been chosen.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities? The plot had potential had it actually been developed AND been a hood love story. This was a story of a misguided child finding her way.
Any additional comments? The author appears to have a common theme in all of the books I have read/or listened to thus far. All the women are weak, simple and reckless. The men tend to be womanizng and abusive. Even the men who "love" the women are still the kind that "strong arm" their women.
This book was so good but damn it if it don't have me passed off on so many levels!! I don't know where to begin!! I am angry at Maurice for how he broke Angel's virginity but just pushed her aside afterwards which I feel is why she took the path she did. I am happy he found her and I want her to just be free and happy with Maurice and MJ....but her past won't leave her alone!! I hate Angel missed out on years with her mom....I am grateful that Thaddeus showed up when he did....can't wait to see what his letter was about. Come on Part 2!!!
Liked this read, I felt Angel was a bit naive and needed to stand up a little more for herself instead of just settling every time for what I consider was wrong things. The in and out activity that happened with Maurice was charming but he needed to be a bit more forceful to take the relationship to the next level. Always practice what your parents taught you and follow your intuition. Good read on a whole.

This was a good read, I wasn't crazy about the ending but it did keep you interested throughout. Maurice thanked Angel for letting him be her 1st then he got all weird on her but he did come back for her, he showed her love when she didn't know how to or what it was. Now Jay and his stable was a whole other story, but a pretty good one. I would recommend this to be read but wouldn't put it on my top 10 list of best reads. Love this author though ")
Angel was a confused young female who truly loved her childhood best friend Maurice. Once she met Jay, her life went downhill quickly. After reading almost all of Jade Jones's books, I'm sure of 3 things: 1) It's going to be a banging page turner that I will not put down until the book is finished; 2) so well written I feel as if I am in the story watching the drama unfold; 3) the book will be exciting, full of turmoil & chaos. The book Thot did not disappoint. Great read!
I felt so sorry for Angel in this book. She never knew what she was truly getting into with that conniving Jay. I felt so sorry for her. The real life situations & circumstances that Jade speaks of have you reeling. The story keeps you engaged...never a dull moment. Once again, Jade leaves you captivated & wanting more.
OMG!!! I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE BEEN A WHORE OR A STRIPPER. THEN THE PIMP BEATING YOUR ASS ALL THE TIME, YOUR BODY BUT HIS MONEY. SHIT I HAVE TO KILL YOUR ASS FIRST OF ALL. AND HER DAD SAVE HER LIFE @ THE END WOW BECAUSE MY MOUTH DROP OPEN WHEN I GOT FINISH. GOOD JOB JADE
This book just of been one of her early ones that she just decided to release. Not half as good as her usual books. Really slow and I put it down several times.
Ladies we need to learn how,to stand on our own feet!We do not need a man to validate our lives ! This was a sad story, but true based on the world that we live in ! Keep your heads up and live your life for yourself !
Jade is a very exciting and visual writer. As I read this story I was able to see the words come to life right before my eyes. I'm to look for more books by her she is just that great of a writer.
This was a very good read. I don't expect anything less from this are. I read this straight through...couldn't put it down. 1-Click. You'll be glad you did.
