Haleigh Lovell is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of THE LIST series. Haleigh doesn't always do cardio, but when she does, she calls it writing. #beastmode
I enjoyed the first one more, but I think this one is a better book because of several reasons:
1) Conflict makes plots go round--> there weren't many things happening in Vivian's list, but this sequel was emotionally gripping that dealt with issues such as PTSD and detachment that accompanies a soldier's homecoming. There was a ton of development there.
2) Julian--> What I love about the writing is that every character sounds different, and like if I walked into a room blindfolded I could tell who's who from speech alone. Julian was no exception and his personality added to the mix.
3) Growth, growth, growth--> So much of it, and it felt natural in the time span allocated to the plot. They grew as separate people, their love grew, and I just felt like they knew each other better. This made the marriage actually believable rather than rushed and cheesy, which I seem to find with every romance novel these days.
Yeah, this book was better. And how could we forget about the hot and steamy sex that they keep on having everywhere BUT a bed.
This is so much better than some of the more popular books I've read this year. I'm glad I've continued this series.
I spent my night half-laughing, half-squirming in my bed. It was my bad I read it during my bed time, I thought it would help me sleep, but this book had me so hooked I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning just to finished it. Trust me when I say, this is worth all those dark spots under your eyes.
The first time I met Liam and Vivian was when I read the first book, and I really think they were perfect for each other. It didn’t matter when Liam enlisted and went to Iraq, I knew the both of them can survive the distance because their love was real. What I didn’t expect was what is going to happen in between their separation that can affect their relationship.
War can change a person, and it was what happened to Liam. Things happened that made him a different person when he came home. He was aloof, he preferred alcohol, and he was so closed-off – they didn’t talk anymore. Oh, they still do it – and when they do it was pretty much explosive, but a relationship needed more than mind-blowing sex (can’t believe I’m saying this! ;)).
Their relationship suffered. She didn’t know what to do at first. She was lost too. She was tiptoeing around him. Her old Liam was nowhere to be found, a stranger came home to her.
If you loved this two in the first book, wait until you read Liam’s List. Most especially Vivian, I have never seen a girl who fought to hard for a relationship. It was hard, it was daunting, it was emotionally draining for her, and what she was experiencing was not for the faint of heart. I knew there was those times when she could have easily given up and leave him – but she stayed. She stayed with him, loved him with all that she has, offered him everything that she can – and in the end, all her efforts were rewarded. She got him back.
It’s not just Liam and Vivian, there were so many secondary characters who have made this story downright amazing – starting with Chelsea, the best friend – OMG. She was so freaking funny I couldn’t help the sound of laughter escaping my lips, and there’s Merrick – who is a toughie on the outside, but a softie on the inside, his letters had me in tears. Just like the main characters, they play a vital role in the lives of Liam and Vivian, and they too have their own stories to tell.
Liam’s List proved that love can heal just about anything. It is love that gives the greatest strength for a relationship to survive the biggest obstacle that fate can throw at them.
I love the fact that it has no cliff-hanger, and I get to creep inside both their thoughts. Liam’s List had made me laugh so hard, hurt so hard, panting so hard, and fell in love all over again with the two characters.
It’s not the load that breaks you down. It’s the way you carry it.

I loved this story! Loved, loved, loved this book. Every part of it, the ones that make me smile and cry and both at the same time! Let me first say if you have not read Vivian's List start with that one, this is the second part of the story.
I loved the first book and Liam and Viv both so much. I was so glad that the characters stayed true to who they were in the first book. I absolutely loved how dorky Viv was at parts. This was an amazing read, much like Vivian's List this book had me both laughing and crying. At at least one point I was laughing and crying at the same time!! I loved that while dealing with a horrible part of Liam's story it was not magically fixed. Their was a happy ending but it did not just happen. I love, love, love both of the book that make up this story!! This was a great ending to an absolutely amazing story!!
I loved this story so much!! This book will not be taken off of my Kindle because it will be read anytime I am looking for a great story to fall back on!!
Liam's List is volume 2 of a two-part series by Haleigh Lovell. When I read her debut novel, Vivian's List, a few months ago I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it and I could not wait to see what was next for Vivian and Liam. I read VL in one sitting and the same thing happened with Liam's List. It was another page turner! I really liked VL, but LL had a little extra something. Miss Spicy Cinnamon Vivian and Mr. Hot Peppers Liam sure know how to spice things up ;)
Liam's List picks up where Vivian's List ended. Liam's has left for Iraq to continue is military mission. Vivian is keeping busy with school while she awaits Liam's return. Having the person that you love away for such a long time is difficult. But, Liam and Vivian soon find interesting ways to ''keep in touch'' ;) After tragedy strikes, Liam returns home broken. He will never forget what happened in Iraq. A part of him dies after that tragedy. Vivian has been separated from Liam for months. When he comes back home she sees a drastic change in him. They grow apart and their relationship suffers because of Liam's behavior. Liam can't find his way back from the darkness that has been suffocating him since he left Iraq, but Vivian will do whatever it takes to bring happiness back into Liam's life.
I loved Liam List!!! It was very different from VL and I liked how the story was written. Vivian and Liam lived tender and steamy moments. They laughed and cried together. Vivian showed her unconditional support to Liam when his life was a complete mess. His emotional scars were deep and it took him some time to overcome all the emotions that he was feeling. What I loved about these two is that in VL, Liam was the one that encouraged and helped Vivian discover who she really was. And, in LL she helps him. This book was emotional and heartbreaking. It also felt so real to me because these are things that happen to couples in reality.
Vivian and Liam once again set my kindle on fire!!! Holy Crapola!!! These two have something against having sex in a bed ... lol!!! Oh, what a steamy interesting list, Liam!!!! *Fans self*
Overhall, this was a great sequel and I liked the banter between all the characters. I was happy to see that Vivian reconnected with her brother Julian. I really hope we get to see more of these characters. Julian and Casey would be quite an interesting couple to follow and I'm positive that these two together are FIRE!!!!!
I give, Liam's List, by Haleigh Lovell 4.5 sensual, memorable, emotional, flirty, sex-on-a-glacier stars! <--- Yup! That was freakin' hot!! Great series by Haleigh Lovell! I can't wait to see what's next by this awesome author! ;)
First off I really should warn anyone that is reading my review of this book. Your gonna need the following items: tissues, favorite drink, comfy jammies, favorite ice cream (you are so gonna need it too cool off), DO NOT DISTURB SIGN, and of course your favorite chair. I was first introduced to Liam and Viv in the first book Vivian's List (which is awesome) there story continues in this second book that blew me away so much. Liam heads off to war in the final chapters of Vivian's List and the author surely does not miss a beat in picking up and sucking you in from page 1. I could say that this author had me from page 1 but that would not be true this author had me from her first book. Again I felt like I was intruding on a love affair that had no beginning and surely no end. This author gives us education in the war that our men are fighting for. Our freedom and what happens when a man comes home broken. Viv is a strong woman that does not back down from turmoil she is a woman that embraces all that life has to offer her. She embraces Liam's love even though he sees himself as broken a few times in this book. The truth is that the author gave me a sense of comfort in Liam's list. The sex is HOT HOT HOT...STEAMY too. You really need to pick up this book as well as the first and just be entranced in all the books have to offer you. So with all that said I am so not going to give away any of this book. I am a reader that does NOT read teasers of any kind. So take it from me get your copy of these books and enjoy them. Does Viv and Liam get there happily ever after? Hmmm want too know? I ain't telling lol
Also I want to thank the author for a fantastic read. Your awesome. Oh and since I am a Navy Mom and Ex-Navy wife this book meant more than this author knows to me. Thanks again and Happy Happy Reading
This is the continuation of Vivian and Liam's story. I knew as soon as it was ready, I had to read it!! I had planned to start this book in the morning when I got up but instead made the mistake of starting it at 11pm and then didn't put it down till I finished it. I loved it!! There is still 2 words that come to mind when I think of Vivian's List and Liam's List........HOT & STEAMY!!! Liam's list did not disappoint!!
At the end of book 1 Liam is heading back to Iraq. I was worried for the both of them but knew they would be ok. What I didn't see coming was all the hell Liam would have to go through :( War will change a person and that is exactly what happened to Liam. When he comes back home he has changed and rightly so. Will Vivian be able to stay strong and stand by his side no matter how hard it may get?
This book was happy, sad and at times very heartbreaking but so very true because this is what happens in real life everyday.
I loved all the secondary characters. I am glad we got more on Vivian's brother Julian but I still need more on him!! I am hoping that there will be a book on him and Chelsea in the future :) If so, I hope we get more updates on Vivian and Liam!
I have to say that after I finished Vivian's List a while back I was anticipating this sequel. Liam's List is very hot yet heartfelt. It's real. While reading it I imagined that a lot of couples with military ties go through gees tough times, but it was great to see Vivian stand by Liam and watch their love grow. I'd love to see a book about Chelsea & Julian!
So beautifully written... I love a book that make you feel all the emotional turmoil of each character the good ..the bad ...the ugly.. can't wait to read future books from this author :)
Story was beautifully written. It had happiness, sadness and a happily ever after. I am glad Vivian didn't give up on Liam after he came back from Iraq.
I read Vivian’s List last November and absolutely loved it. It was unique and Haleigh Lovell’s writing style was superb. When Ms Lovell asked if I would like to read the sequel, I couldn’t say no, I just had to find out what Liam had on his list and where these two lovable characters go. Liam’s List was extraordinary, I was so emotionally attached to this book and I couldn’t put it down. Again Vivian and Liam are struggling to keep their love together and with the fun characters of Julian and Chelsea, it’s incredible!
Liam Sykes is in the military and currently based in Iraq. It was a hard decision to leave Vivian, but Liam wants to finish his term and be done with it. He has made some amazing mates along the way that are more like brothers, but that makes it even harder when he loses some in battle.
Knowing his mission is dangerous Liam is determined to keep his brothers safe and is broken beyond repair when their convoy is attacked. Feelings of guilt, anger and disappointment are emotions that will not go away and Liam returns home a different man.
Vivian knows as soon as she sees Liam that he has changed. His eyes are darker, he won’t smile and everything is rougher. Liam is skittish, quick to anger and alcohol seems to be his only escape. Vivian is worried she is losing him and is fighting with all her might to keep them together. But Liam doesn’t seem to want to fight anymore.
Nothing seems to penetrate Liam’s mind and when Vivian gets some advice from a professor who is a veteran himself, Vivian finally understand some of what Liam is going through. Slowly, very slowly she tries to give him what he needs and in return Liam is figuring out the only safe place for him is in Vivian’s arms. If Vivian can keep holding onto her patience, they just might live happily ever after.
Vivian talks Liam into creating a bucket list, both sensual and conventional. Vivian is surprised with his list and excited to help him fulfil the items. Will working through Liam’s list help bring the couple back together emotionally as well as physically? Can Liam work through his feelings and bring Vivian back into his heart?
Enjoy the ride with Vivian and Liam, and with a little help from Julian (Vivian’s brother) as they try to accept that life and people can change, but love is a constant if you allow it to be. My Dad is a Vietnam Vet and through Ms Lovell’s words, I was able to understand some of the emotions that are attached to that time in his life. I had tears and heartache for Liam (and my Dad) from the meticulous detail of emotion and relationship he dealt with throughout. I cannot put into words the feelings that went through my heart. BUT I highly recommend this book to every new adult romance reader.
Holly hotness! This book Was súper steamy and really beautifull , i had no idea how Good it Was ... So much better than the first one... Fuller story , more characters , and some dificult tópics but a very Good read . What can i Way about Vivian's friend ...OMG they aré hilarious i really Was crying so heard on some with the things that the friends did ..." " Tomy ,Tomy ,Tomy".... Haaaa so funny and the sexting thing hilarious! All and all it's a very Good book
“Liam´s List” is written in Vivian´s and Liam´s first-person narratives. Their narratives change irregularly. Lovell´s writing style is detailed and vivid and makes it easy to connect with the story and to feel the character´s emotions. Most part of the book I read in a train so there was no chance to show my emotions while I read it. It never hits the spot when you sit in a room or in my case in a cabin with strangers and cry like a baby. So I hid my real emotions but had a huge lump in my throat and couldn’t swallow it while I read the story. So emotionally was the course of story. That does not happen very often for me but “Liam´s List” is extraordinary.
While “Vivian´s List” is a single storyline book with Vivian´s and Liam´s relationship in the center of the story, “Liam´s List” has multiple storylines. That’s a fact I really appreciate as an enthusiast of more storylines even when Lovell didn’t need another storyline in “Vivian´s List”. Aside from Vivian´s and Liam´s relationship the book is about their separated life during Liam´s tour in Iraq and their necessarily adjustments with the aftermaths of war when he returns. I´m still really impressed with Lovell´s handling of the book´s topics and the story intensified my impression that she really researched the topic at full length. She describes the everyday routine of a soldier in war and the consequences and aftermaths of his deployment for him and his environment very realistic and authentic.
I know how controversial the discussions about the Iraq war were and how heated the discussions were hold so I really appreciate the fact that Lovell writes totally unbiased about the origin and development of the war. She doesn’t choose a side and influences the story with patriotic propaganda. She stays neutral and lets her main and minor characters elaborate all sides and arguments of the story. She portrays a really realistic and authentic picture about the war in general and the Iraq war in particular. I loved every minute of it!
There seemed to be a lot of unnecessary details in this story and the dialogue was very weird in parts. There'd be a normal conversation going on and then randomly a bunch of slang terms/sayings would be thrown in. I wouldn't have minded had there been a rhyme or reason to it, but there didn't seem to be any in this book.
Also, I was not a fan of Vivian. She was trying to force Liam into getting help, and he clearly wasn't ready for that, and that drove me nuts. I really wanted to smack her. I didn't want her to leave him to become an alcoholic, but I think she could have gone about trying to get him to get help in a different/better way. The poem/writing that her philosophy professor gave her pointed that out to her.
Liam's List was an amazing story!!! Even through his tough times, I loved when he finally opened himself up to Vivian in order to protect their love. The writing style for this book was incredible because when Liam lost his brothers overseas it was truly as though I lost someone close to me. I'm so happy that Liam and Vivian were able to withstand their trials and tribulations because they seriously make a wonderful book couple. Liam is on my top list of HOT BOOK BOYFRIENDS and this is a definite MUST READ!!! Haleigh I seriously hope their is more to come because I'm excited to read whatever you write!!!!
It is so hard to find an author that can write a decent sex scene and not write "shattering" when explaining an orgasm. Thank you Haleigh. They were very refreshing sex scenes, very steamy. It was so hard not to cry when they boys were writing their letters before their mission, so heartfelt. I was very nervous about how this book would turn out with Liam's PTSD consuming him along with his guilt. I'm so glad it took a turn for the better. Don't think I could have handled him totally pushing Viv away.
this was a different kind of book for me and i did like it tells liams story of how he comes back from iraq an has to deal with what he did an witnessed there an how viv the love of his life helps him deal with it ,its hot an steamy in places and also sad obviously with the issues it deals with but there is also laughter an her friend is hillarious the stuff she comes out with. i think it is worth the read its not long and i found out a few things i didnt know.
So many feels after reading this book. I really liked Viv's growth, so strong and mature and pretty much doing everything she can to help a broken Liam. I actually cried with the letters and kudos to the author for the whole PTSD explanation, I ended the book with so much hope and a silly smile across my face. I'm not going to lie, I need a Julian/Chelsea book RIGHT NOW. I already know I'm going to laugh my ass off with their craziness.
This is an amazing follow up to Vivian's List. Liam is back in Iraq and Vivian is left to pray for his safe return. They keep in touch through calls, Skype and care packages. Will Liam survive the war in one piece and can Vivian love the man who returns to her? This is a real story of our times, of love and war, of who we are and who we can become. This story deserves more than 5 stars, Haleigh Lovell is an amazing author and I can not wait to see what she does next, she is my hero!
This series ended up hitting close to home for me. I was a great way to wrap up the 2 books. It was not as steamy as the first book was and I missed that. The book ended on a high note which was good but I wish it had like a chapter that was 10 years later.
I don't often write reviews so this should tell you how much I enjoyed Liam's List. I read Vivian's List in one day and got Liam's List right after I finished! Both books got me out of my book funk!! Very detailed writing, loved ALL the characters and I can't wait for Julian's story!!! GREAT writing of a very emotional, HOT, STEAMY, funny book! Can't wait to see more from this new author!
Fabulous follow up to Vivian's List. Beautiful, romantic, HAWT, haunting, Amazingly handles tough topics. This gave me lots of food for thought. Bless Vivian and Liam. Now can we get one about Julian? Please, Haleigh?!
This is probably the best book I have read in a really long time. I both laughed and cried at many parts in this book. Vivian is a strong woman and her love for both her brother and Liam goes above and beyond. Excellent book!
This is the first book of Ms. Lovell that I've had the pleasure of reading. This is a 5 star work of art . This author has managed to combine some important current issues, with a beautiful romance and some salutary sex scenes. Phenomenal 5 star read! Recomend!
Wow this was a great book!! Liam and Viv have a true and deep love, but it will be put to the test This story is beautiful and the tragedies are heartbreaking and all to real A beautiful series and must read, I'm about to start third book
