The use of Hercules where it should have been Herarcles made me question what else might be inaccurate in this book.

Cultures of the Past series. A good book about the Phoenicians, who were the Tyrians, Byblians and Carthaginians, who were the Canaanites. The worst part of it is, their history was all written by their enemies, who won the wars.

The best part of this book were the pictures. There were a lot of pictures of beautiful ancient Phoenician artifacts. The writing was OK, but it seemed a little unbalanced to me. I wanted to hear more about the history and less about the religion. But then again, maybe that's just me.

Slightly better than Odjik's book, and more detail on the religions. However, a few searches on Google will get you much, much farther.
