Bear Willis: Mountain Man: Hang Em' High: A Western Adventure

Rate this book
A brand new Mountain Man adventure from Peter Alan Turner!

When Mountain Man Bear Willis decides to drive a herd of wild mustangs to Fort Laramie, he knows the journey will be long, hard, and dangerous. But he didn’t reckon that he and his sons would have to battle their way through Comanche attacks, prairie fires, and horse thieves.

Somehow, they reached Fort Laramie just in time for the 1851 signing of the Horse Creek treaty. Figuring the mustangs were safe, Bear let his guard down and joined the celebration. Returning to camp, Bear finds rustlers made off with some of the herd. Now Bear is in a race against time. He has to recover the horses or face a penalty from the government.

Will Bear find his mustangs? Will he bring the rustlers to justice? Can he convince the Army’s Quartermaster to pay a fair price for his horses, and will he return to Texas with his sons and the money earned from the sale of the mustangs?

Writing has always been a lifelong dream. Finally, at 71 years young, that dream became a reality. I am honored to be part of Dusty Saddles Publishing, the leading publisher of Western Novels. Currently, I have several Western Series on Amazon: Chet Henderson: Texas Ranger Adventure Series, Bear Willis: Mountain Man Series, and Willie McGee: Mountain Man Series. Along with a co-write with my granddaughter.

In creating my Westerns, I wanted to do three things, be authentic, create likable characters, and tell a good story. With a lot of hard work and prayer, my books have been well received, so, I must be doing something right.

I live with my wife of fifty-three years and our cat Moxie on Rattlesnake Ridge. We are lucky that our children, grandchildren, and great-grandson all live close by. When I'm not writing, I enjoy woodcarving, fishing, and pampering my classic Jaguar.

I donate a portion of the profits from my books to Veteran charities, including the Veteran’s Independence Project.
