I’M WITH YOU. WHATEVER IT TAKES
The Alaskan Tails series is a spin-off from the Mystic River Shifters Series. It will showcase people that were mentioned, but never had their own story. The stories in this series are shorter novellas, unlike the longer tales, which are about twice as long. Once again, it was fun seeing characters that we met in previous stories have their own tale.
The story will involve an Alpha wolf from the Silver Ridge Pack who has been cursed by an evil entity that claims rights to the lands and a witch who has been cast out by her coven for engaging in unseen magic. Brought together, they must work together, protect Silver Ridge, and allow good to win over evil.
“I curse you, Neville Lawless. You and all the alphas to follow. The Silver Ridge Pack will abandon this land you stole from my ancestors.”
“You are hereby banished from this coven. You are no longer one of us, and you are forbidden from practicing magic. You must leave immediately and never return.”
I liked Neville Lawless and Tamzyn March together. They must trust each other, relying on each other's strengths and abilities to work together. Once Tamzyn moved to Silver Ridge, she helped people. She has her shop where she sells herbs and roots she gathers. She will discover things deep in the woods, a dark force at work, and realizes trouble is coming.
“The game had changed, and she was no longer just a bystander. She was a player, and she would do whatever it took to protect Silver Ridge from the darkness that threatened to consume it. But first, she had to find Neville. And pray that she could trust him.”
“There was a storm coming, one that threatened to tear apart everything he had built. But Neville Lawless had never backed down from a fight, and he wasn’t about to start now.”

The story is a fast-paced, action-paced fated-mate story that brings two unlikely individuals together. A cursed alpha wolf shifter and a banished witch. But together, they accept that for the greater good, they must discover who or what was causing disappearances and deaths in both the human and the supernatural world, and stop it. They will be tested and must put their full faith in one another to destroy the enemy and protect Silver Ridge and the future.

This is a quick read that still manages to have a lot of

This is the story of Tamzyn and Neville. This witch and alpha wolf shifter are fated mates with a prophesy. I enjoyed the intense suspense, action, paranormal characters and spicy moments. This is a page turner. I received an arc of the book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What an exciting read. Delta James has combined an ancient prophecy, a wolf pack with a curse placed on their Alpha for multiple generations, a powerful witch banished from her coven, and a vampire who has been around almost from the beginning of time. Regardless of which paranormal you have a penchant for reading, the bases are covered with aplomb. Of course, with fated mates involved, there is going to be the exhilarating chemistry vibrating through the air. I loved it.

Just as she was about to lose herself forever she pulled it back to her human form. Someone saw. She had to run. She was stopped. She was judged. She was banished. She made a new life. She became the towns healer. Then a customer came rushing in to help find her son in the woods because they say she can find things, people and know the woods. As she entered the woods the deeper she went the more magic, dark magic she felt that should not be there. She was in danger. She poses a threat to the dark ones. A captivating read that was simply impossible to put down, amazing and action filled
This was another simply fantastic addition to the Alaskan Tails Story; it was written at such a pace that once you begin reading it is simply impossible to put down until you reach the finale and discover the actual outcome.
The description throughout the book of the actual environment they live in is breath taking and the characters Tamzyn who is a witch and with quite the reputation of being a tough cookie and taking no bull from anyone. She is surviving on her own after she was basically banished from her coven after she tried out a little magic that dabbled in dark forces.
Neville is the Alpha of the Silver Ridge and he is actually the fated mate of Tamzyn however actually getting her to accept this fact is not easy and he needs her by his side as there is a lot of strange things happening and her magic would be a great help.
As their fates are firmly intertwined, they have to work together if they are going to win the fight before them and to do this they must first accept they are fated, then they hve the fight of their lives on their hands.
This is a really riveting read and I guarantee that you will be as blown away by this book as myself.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Neville Lawless is the Alpha wolf for the Silver Ridge Pack. Things go horribly awry, and dark magic appears and things get worse for a long while. Neville does his best to mitigate the problems and protect both his pack and the locals, but people are disappearing. Tamzyn March is a powerful witch, born into a powerful coven in the Pacific Northwest. Her mom is the High Priestess, but even she couldn’t save Tamzyn when she does something that is forbidden. I liked the book a lot because we got to see more of what a coven is and how it is run, plus how dark magic is dealt with. Because she did something forbidden, Tamzyn is banished and warned. She ends up in Silver Ridge, Alaska and opened a store, where she used herbal remedies. However, she had to keep her true nature hidden. I found that she is just so powerful, that it was almost impossible to do this, especially with the all of the things that were going on there. The book gets spooky as all get out. I really enjoyed it and need the AC on. Boy, not only for the steam from Neville and Tamzyn, but because of the fear sweat as I worried about the townspeople and the pack. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

"An Amazing Shifter Romance series"
This series is Incredible. Every story is exciting and fun to read. You will love the awesome and unique characters.
Neville is a sexy wolf shifter. After he became the Alpha of the Silver Ridge pack. He became cursed one that would destroy him. One he could not find a way to break.
Tamzyn is a spunky young strong witch. After she is banned from her coven . Tamzyn moved to Silver Ridge. Where she opened a special herbal store. Then one day one of her customers came to her for help. It seemed the woman's little son was missing. In the woods outside of town. The town people don't know she is a witch, but the do know she is special.
While looking for the child Tamzyn comes across a dark magic! She is given a message that dark forces are coming for her. Tamzyn finds the child unharmed. Only now she is worried about the dark forces. As she does research she discovered she and Neville seem to be a part of a prophecy. That it seems their fates are entwined. Did fate lead them to be together? Could she be Neville's fated mate? Can they stop the evil that has come to their town?

With the build up to the climax, you expected the granddaddy of all firework displays. What you got was the sound of a single kernel of corn being popped. It reminds me of a movie quote, "the Atlantic is like a swimming hole compared to the Pacific".
In His Spellbound Mate by Delta James, we got a swimming hole after the lead up to a big ocean.
I'm a fan of Ms. James work but I have watched the decline in the quality of the storytelling, and/or the proofing and editing. It has been a while since she managed to get them both working together.
After starting the book, my hopes rose to great heights thinking I was going to be pleasantly surprised because I was not assailed with error after error in spelling and editing and infinite repetitions of the same themes and dialogue. My hopes were dashed as I neared the end of the book and where a grand battle should have taken place there lay a nothing burger. Two or three pages wrapped it all up.
I continue to read her work but I don't buy the books anymore, it's a crap shoot as to what you'll get with each book. If it isn't in KU I don't read it.

I am normally a huge fan of Delta James. I’ve purchased, read, enjoyed many of her stories. All told, easily 70-80 e-books; she is prolific!
His Spellbound Mate, somehow, just didn’t win me over. Nobody could be more surprised than I am.
Tamzyn and Neville just didn’t reach me.
I’m not a huge fan of ‘magic’ stories, they just aren’t my thing. (Might be splitting hairs for some, but I don’t consider her Shifter stories as ‘magic’ per se. )
Will I read Delta James’ stories in future? Yes, of course.
Will I read the blurb more carefully? Maybe read a sample first? Absolutely.
Do I hope to have access to more ARCs as they become available? Yes, please!
Because that just happens to be MY preference, and it appears this trope will figure more prominently in some future series’ entries. For folks that enjoy that genre? Go for it!
Delta James is STILL a great storyteller, world builder.

Tamzyn is the daughter of the high priestess of her coven. She has always felt there was more. One day she decides to try dark magic but of course someone sees her and she is banished from the coven with the proviso of not ever using magic, ever. She decided to go to the town of Silver Ridge on the Alaskan peninsula to begin her new life. She knew that there were shifters in this area and felt she would be safe. She did not tell those that live there that she was a witch and found a nice place to make her home.
Well assisting a mom in finding her lost son she came across an area with dark magic.
Neville is the alpha of the Silver Ridge pack. The alpha of the pack has been cursed but no one knows when or why it happened. As he is slowly losing his hold on his wolf Tamzyn appeared in the area. Once he saw her he knew she was his faded mate.
This is their story of the past, the present, and the future for them and the pack.
I highly recommend this book and all in the series.

Overall this was a quick read with some good plot points. I thought the beginning setup of the story was very well set up going into the background of both of the main characters and setting up what feels like an epic challenge for them to overcome as their paths collide. It fell a little short for me when the prophecy starts to unfold and the two characters and their relationship deepens. I felt like the story should have been longer considering how long the build up to the big “battle” was. It didn’t really make sense how the FMC went from a “hell no I am an independent woman who can take care of herself” to “yep, so happy to be protected” in what felt like just a few short paragraphs. The solutions to their issues fell into place a bit too easily for how long it took to get there. Overall I think a fun read, and may continue reading the other books in this series.

I enjoyed the whole aspect of the witches, the coven, and Tamzyn exploring the strength and range of her powers. I thought it was interesting the way the curse on Neville and his pack was resolved.
There was much more suspense in this book than I expected. I know what the prophecy stated yet it felt more like Tamzyn's show than anything else.
I had questions. If Tamzyn could shift on her own, what happened when Neville claimed her? I also didn't understand, based on Tamzyn's trial and her sentence for her "crime", how she was able to do the things she did in the forest? What happened to Tamzyn's mother and the rest of the coven? Did any of the witches know she used her magic?
All in all, an entertaining book that seemed to become more fast paced as the tension and suspense increased. 3.5 stars.

This was a wonderful mixture of supernaturals: pshapeshifting and witchcraft. Neville Lawless fought hard to become the Alpha of his pack, and had to fight even harder to maintain control over himself once he obtained the role. Tamzyn March was always different from those in her coven. Her desire to learn and experience more would cost her more than she ever imagined. When strange things start happening in Silver Ridge, Alaska, it will take evert resource they can muster to determine the cause... but will they be strong enough to overpower the evil that lurks in the darkness?
This gripping story of an underdog and an outcast joining forces to fight against overwhelming odds to protect the innocent is one of courage, determination, understanding differences, acceptance, and love. I love this series, every story is so beautifully written with amazing characters, set in the breathtaking Alaska landscape. Neville is the fascinating, stubborn, alpha wolf of the Silver Ridge pack. Tamzyn is a beautiful, powerful witch, she was banished from her coven. Silver Ridge is now her home, she feels dark magic in the forest, trouble is coming. Neville and Tamzyn join forces to discover what is threatening their town. I love the chemistry between Neville and Tamzyn as they search records to discover who is behind the curse and dark magic. this book was fantastic. a thrilling mix of magic and wolf shifters. tamzyn is a witch with unheard of power but she pushes the limits and does something forbidden so ends up exiled from her coven. neville is the pack alpha in alaska where tamzyn moves to and after a hard fight to claim the alpha position he finds out there's more to it then he bargained for.
ppl start going missing so tamzyn is asked to help find a child. in the course of searching she finds traces of dark magic and investigates. finding info about an ancient prophecy she finds out that her and neville must work together to solve the mystery and defeat evil.
great characters richly developed, a detailed plot with plenty of action adventure suspense danger and magic to hold great interest. and of course love and romance too.

Wow! This just started strong and kept building! Tamzyn was a risk taker and a very strong (and headstrong) witch and, perhaps unwisely, tried to push beyond the boundaries set by her coven into magic deemed forbidden. Despite being banished from her coven and moving far away to try to live quietly, she still allows compassion to pull her into helping people in the community. Neville, as the alpha of the Silver Ridge Pack, is very strong and responsible, but a curse is slowly sapping his control. As they both work to protect the pack and the community, they realize they are fated mates and the more they work together, the stronger the bond and the stronger THEY are. Good read - couldn’t put it down!

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book this good. I usually enjoy reading Delta James books but lately have felt there’s been something lacking. This book is back to her normal high quality writing. Tamzyn has been cast out of her coven and has settled in Alaska. Neville is the Alpha of the local shifter clan. This book has a high woo woo factor that I really enjoy. What I especially enjoyed is the FL and ML don’t automatically jump straight into bed as soon as they meet, despite being fated mates. This book has an actual story and doesn’t rely solely on sex to keep my attention. I really really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend reading it.

Ok, maybe it's the wolves but when the author writes about the wolves, she aces it. The action will take hold from the very beginning in the Northwest coven and carry through into Alaska. The reader is kept guessing who the bad guy/gal is until the very end. This is Tamzyn and Neville's story. We did find out one little nugget - does the magic work on their fated mate. Yes, I had visions of the witches turning their mates into toads when they ticked them off. I can't go into a lot of detail because the book a novella. Just do yourself a favor, read it. Magic and action collide together to create magic action. This story was thrilling and captivating. Two individuals come together to fight an enemy. A force to be reckoned with. Even for a short story, it pushes and builds on the fact Tasmyn and Neville need to fight together as one. Turns out, that couldn't be further from the truth. Tasmyn does it on her own and the storyline doesn't give an explanation why. Even though it was reiterated it would take them both to fight the darkness. Kind of annoying how a lot of books are having a feminist outlook like this. I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Delta James crafts wonderful stories in all her books and this is no exception. Tamzyn was expelled from her coven because she practiced unseen magic, forbidden by her coven. Nevelle is a wolf shifter and alpha of his pack and was cursed to lose part of his humanness with each full moon.

Her Spellbound Mate is full of deception, good and evil, prophecy, mystery, independent strong with with an equally strong wolf shifter. Between these two underdogs we see that when mates work together they are stronger than they ever imagined. This author is a expert world builder that just astounds me whether it is a full book or a quick novella. This is Neville and Tamsyn's story and they find out that they must work together to destroy the prophecy and save the world as they know it. Their chemistry is off the chart as the slowly admit their bond. I love the magic in this book you will not put it down.

Tamzen and Neville are against time and trying to prevent the veil from splitting and causing Havoc upon the earth. There are things that are happening that only Tamzen can help prevent. Neville who is the now Alpha did not realize that the other Alphas before him were cursed which goes back a hundred years apparently if not more. So the more feral he becomes the stronger the darkness creeping from the veil. Action? Yes. Mystery and suspense? Most definitely when it comes to a witch and a wolf. Not as long as the other reads from this author but still very good.

A fast paced novella, well written with interesting elements and obviously some juicy bits. The descriptions of the rugged Alaskan landscape are absolutely picturesque. Neville, the cursed Alpha has to team up with Tamzyn, a witch banished from her coven after dabbling in forbidden unseen magic living in Silwer Ridge when dark forces threaten. Tied by a prophecy they have to fight together. The fated mates bond strengthened their power. A HEA relaxing read. I have enjoyed this series from book 1.

I admire the creativity of this author who blends the different worlds of the universe she has created. I started with her wolf shifters, than met other shifters, touched on the hellhounds and now the blending of witchcraft and dark magic with shifters. But, her books have become more novellas than novels and I find if difficult to make all the transitions in the brief form.
Still, a captivating experience that always leaves me wanting more.
