Heart Bound was an incredible debut! From the very first chapter, it swept me up with its emotion, action, and heart. I loved the mix of sizzling chemistry, a sweet romance, and a plot that never slowed down.
Dragons, fated mates, trials, and a beautifully written sense of found family made this story everything I could want in a romantasy. The journey the characters go on was captivating, and that cliffhanger at the end left me immediately reaching for book two.
KT Carpenter has truly won me over with this debut. I’m officially a die-hard fan. If you love romantasy filled with magic, dragons, and high-stakes emotion, this book deserves a spot on your TBR.

I absolutely adored every single part of this book. Ellie is an amazing FMC, the bond with her dragon is so special. They are the same soul in different bodies. A love that is truly unconditional.
Our MMC, Tristan, is a soldier and her personal guard. He is broody, HOT, kind, and although he has a rough start and a tough life he cares so deeply for his friends and Ellie.
Every side character except one (iykyk) is perfect. Stella, Breccan and Kyla are the best friends and support for both Ellie and Tristan. They are unwaveringly loyal, kind and supportive in every way.
I recommend everyone read this. I have been waiting for this book since I first saw K.T. post on tiktok that she was writing it, and it DID NOT disappoint. 🩵

First of all, I would never in a million years believe this was K.T. Carpenters debut novel if I didn’t know it. The world that KT created was absolutely magical, I could not put this book down!
I am still emotionally processing the ending of this book, and let me tell you it absolutely wrecked me!

Princess Ellie is shocked to discover the secret her mother has been harboring for 25 years, the fate of the realms magic depends on Ellie and her bonded dragon Saphirixia.

I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for Soulbound to be released!! Needing a book to cleanse my dark romance loving soul, I was recommended this book by a friend and it did not let down at all. K.T. Carpenter is a fantastic writer that literally transports you to a different world with her writing and I predict bestsellers in her future.

I was hooked from the beginning! I loved the bonded dragons in this story, they are fiercely faithful to their bonded Fae and also feisty and sarcastic at times. They truly made me laugh out loud. The bond between the FMC (Ellie) and her best friends is so solid and I loved how much they truly support each other, “until death”. The bond between Ellie and the MMC (Tristan) is undeniable and grows through the whole book.
Ellie and her friends go on a journey to fulfill a prophecy and give back all Fae their magic. Will Ellie and her Bonded dragon (Saphirixia) make it through the trails and prove they are worthy to restore the magic? I have been waiting months to get my hands on Heartbound and am so excited to now be able to share with you all! This is a romantasy filled with all the same tropes you loved between Fourth Wing and Powerless.
As I mentioned, the bonds in this story were truly beautiful. It was such a breath of fresh air to witness relationships filled with healthy communication and that were able to withstand difficult circumstances.
The character development in this book was also spot on. Our FMC starts off quite unsure of herself and throughout the book grows into a strong young lady who is willing to protect her loved ones fiercely. Our MMC truly learns how to love again, unconditionally.
This is a story that I’ll recommend to anyone. I cannot wait for book 2 (ps it’s already in the works 👀). Thank you for bringing us such a wonderful story filled with light K.T. I can’t wait for the world to read it 🫶🏼

This would be the perfect book for someone wanting to get into the fantasy genre. This was a very cute story about a girl and her bonded dragon and the special connection they share. However because of the special bond they share they are the prophesied bonded, meaning it’s up to them to break the curse that has suppressed fae magic for centuries.

This was an enjoyable romantasy read about a princess and her dragon, their bond, and how the strength and courage of one girl can change the world.
For a debut novel this was decent. The writing was a little choppy and repetative at times, but not enough so that it killed my enjoyment of the story. The characters and world are well developed ad the bond between Ellie, her dragon Saphirixia, and her amazing friends was well written and drew me in.
If you enjoy stories about fated mates, dragons, trials, prophecy, and strong friendship, along with some spice between the FMC and MMC, you should definitely give this book a try.

When I tell you this book got me hooked from the jump…Wow!!!! Just wow!!! This was amazing read. The characters, the world building… phenomenal!!! And the spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 !!! I lost count on how many times I ended blushing and giggling like a high school girl!!! And get me started with cliffhanger!!!! The cliffhanger left me wanting more!!!!! Thankfully the 2nd book is in the works. I don’t wanna give any spoilers away, but I just want to say this book is 10/10. Definitely recommend if you like worldbuilding fantasy with a bad ass female main character with immorally, gray MMC, throw in some dragons and some spicy spice in the mix. then this is your book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.9/5 stars!!!! I just want to say that I am absolutely honored and privilege to read this book for my sweet and wonderful boo thang!!!!

Think if Fourth Wing and A Court of Mist and Fury had a baby…this book would be born. Following the journey of Princess Ellie, this book includes dragons, fae, fated mates, royalty, found family, spice and more! I definitely think Heartbound could be a good intro book for people who are new to this genre. Though there were some parts that felt a bit dragged on for me personally and the book overall could have been a little shorter in my opinion but, that’s how I usually feel with the first book of romatansy/fantasy books since there’s a lot of background information and world building initially. I’m new to fantasy and romantasy but I truly enjoyed this read. It was beautifully written. Easy to follow and keep up with the world building. I loved the magic aspect of it. The characters were whitty and I loved the banter. And it has dragons! 🐉 who doesn’t love dragons. I’m glad book two is out since it ends with a cliffhanger. I’m excited to read more from K.T! Highly recommend.

This is series was my second one to get my feet wet in for the romantasy genre and it didn’t disappoint! The world building is authentic and very detailed oriented. I could picture it all so vividly in my mind while reading this story! Ellie, our FMC, showed so much growth and became the person she was meant to be, which is fierce, protective, and strong! Her bond with her dragon is pure and perfectly woven in such a way that it is exquisitely rare. Then there’s our MMC, Tristian, a broody man that discovers you can’t always take what’s said about a person at face value. It was interesting to see Tristan trust his instincts about Ellie and able to reflect that there’s more to her than meets the eye! I truly enjoyed this story and would highly recommend it!!!!

prophecy and trials
Ellie learns that she is not only a princess but the one everyone has been waiting for. To fulfill her destiny, she has to hunt down the enchantress and go through a series of trials to help break a curse.
This book was a fun read. We get to see a princess who cares about her people so much, she is willing to sacrifice herself to break a curse.
The MMC is also not the only love interest, so have your popcorn ready. Did I mention those of high station are bonded to dragons?!

This book was a fun read. We get to see a princess who cares about her people so much, she is willing to sacrifice herself to break a curse.
The MMC is also not the only love interest, so have your popcorn ready. Did I mention those of high station are bonded to dragons?!

From the very first page, Carpenter’s writing drew me in with its lyrical prose and rich descriptions, creating a landscape that felt both familiar and fantastical. The bond between the FMC and her dragon is beautifully developed, showcasing themes of friendship, loyalty, and bravery. As they faced challenges and uncovered secrets, I became deeply invested in their journey.

Through the pages of Heartbound, I was taken on an journey that not only captivated my imagination but also touched my heart in ways I never expected. The story follows Princess Ellissandra, a strong and resilient FMC who, alongside her bonded dragon Saphirixia, faces trials that test the very core of her being. As someone who has been navigating mental health struggles, this book couldn’t have come into my life at a more perfect time. I saw so much of myself in Ellie’s strength—her battles, her growth, and the way she never gave up, no matter how difficult the path ahead. The writing flows so effortlessly that it’s almost impossible to put the book down. Each chapter left me racing to the next, as the plot continued to unfold with beautiful love, intense action, and, of course, plenty of spice. If you’re a fan of dragons with a bond so deeply genuine and powerful, this book is FOR YOU. The connection between Ellie and Saphirixia was nothing short of awe-inspiring. It wasn’t just about magic and adventure; it was about loyalty, trust, and unconditional love. 😍 The pacing of the book is perfect (for me) —there’s a healthy balance of thrilling action and heartfelt moments that kept me satisfied.

I think that this might be the most eloquently written book I’ve read in a while. I found myself loving these characters because of how well they were written. With that being said, there were many times that it was a little too much. That because of the amount of description, it took away from the story. For that reason, I rated this book as a 4.5 ⭐️. Overall, so good and creative. I cannot wait to continue this story!

What in the twisty fantasy is this?! This is a debut?!
I'm unwell. & I think I'm in love.
Magic, dragons, and fated mates sold me with this one immediately, but what I didn't expect was the unique spicy scenes, the secrets, the ultimate betrayal, and falling in love with this story.
K.T. did a phenomenal job with this debut, so much so that it is easily forgotten that this is her first published work! This book is going to be your next fantasy obsession and you won't regret picking it up, I know I was absolutely privileged to be able to read it early!
My favorite part about this book was the layers, and how it felt like with each trial the FMC faced we peeled back another piece of the story and revealed more and more understanding of the FMC and MMC. And can I just say that the spice in this book - INCREDIBLE. My highlights speak volumes to how much I enjoyed the romance within these pages.
I know if you decide to pick up this new fantasy, you will not regret it, and you may perhaps fall in love, I know I did! Be prepared to immediately want more though, because the ENDING will leave you speechless.

I was thankful to receive this as an ARC from K.T. Carpenter.
The story follows the magical bonded (dragon and fae) of a princess, Ellie, and dragon Saphrixia (a princess in her own dragon culture). Magic is solely gifted through bonds of dragons, a curse in the land that Ellie (spoiler-sorry) is destined to break with her bonded Sapharixia. They travel with a small group to break the curse and embark on their quest to unlock fae magic, which is not favored by all in the kingdom.
I loved the small bits of banter with the dragons and their grumpy, protective, know-it-all personalities. The friendship trio of three of the fae characters is precious and something I enjoyed reading, along with a healthy, loving relationship with the King and Queen of the fae (Ellie's parents). As a reader, I wanted more in different areas of the story and found that I wasn't fully invested in the "trials" Ellie faces.
Tristian's performance as the MMC was all right. The ending adds a really good twist, but it was the drama at the beginning that had me hooked, especially with Jace in the mix.

It's only a 4 because GR doesn't do halves!!! This is a 4.5★ read and with book 2 it's sure to be a 5★ series!!! I couldn't put this book down. Literally, passed out with my kindle in my hand because it was that consuming. World building is hard and can get wordy and clunky in fantasy books... this book did NOT have that problem! The amount of detail was just enough to give you the picture and let your mind take the journey with the characters. The magic system was beautiful and elegant in a way that was obtainable and intriguing. The found family aspect made my heart soar. The conflict and the internalised struggles that the MCs go through is so relatable and raw. The cliffy got me on edge screaming for book 2!!! I cannot wait for others to read this and fall in love with the world this amazing author has brought into being!

This story is full of action, adventure, friendships, loyalty, love, bonded dragons, and fated mates! I enjoyed every bit of this adventure! The plot and character development was so detailed. The world building was so good, I felt like I knew everything and was there. The love story between Tristian and Ellie was such an emotional journey. I was rooting for them the whole entire book. They both deserve some happiness! The side characters are so good. I want to know what happens with every single one of them. Breccan was my favorite friend! I love that all the friends are very loyal and true friends. Ellie and Saphirina's bond is so sweet! Also, Tristian and his dragon's bond reminded me of brother's bantering. They made me laugh. I wasn't expecting the ending! If you love fantasy adventures, you need to read this story!
