"The Hill" is an exciting and entertaining finale to author Carol Ericson's "Brody Law" series. Set in San Francisco, this suspenseful four-book saga follows the adventures of the Brody brothers as they deal with current-day issues and also work to resolve the decades old mystery of "The Phone Book Killer". Their once-respected lawman father, Joseph Brody, had been implicated as the killer, and he apparently took his own life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. His body was never found, and his sons were left to deal with the devastating emotional aftermath. The author did a great job with this series by creating four distinctive personalities for the brothers, and then finding their match-mates in four equally unique female characters. In "The Hill", youngest brother Judd Brody works as a private investigator and provides protective services for a very elite and wealthy clientele. Beautiful blonde heiress and media magnet London Breck turns out to be far more than a pretty face and paparazzi princess. She's both dazzling and down-to-earth, and she's more than a match for Judd in more ways than he cares to admit. When she hires him to investigate suspicious activity involving the company she inherited from her father--including threats to her personal safety--they discover that their families have a mutual history which may help them to solve the mystery of "The Phone Book Killer". The problem is, they'll have to stay alive long enough to prove it, and then maybe they'll have a chance to found out if the sparks between them will soon burn out or lead to a lasting passion of a lifetime. "The Hill" brings the "Brody Law" romantic suspense series to a satisfying solution and offers readers a terrific twist of events at the exciting conclusion of the book.

I was so anxious for the final book in this series to see how it ended! I wasn't expecting to have it actually be my favorite book in the series but it was! I loved the characters, Judd and London! London was the only daughter of a megarich CEO of a global company who recently died. She has long been known as a party girl across the globe and spoiled rotten by a father who wasn't available much and who lost a mom too young. Now that her father is gone, London has been selected to be the CEO of the company and several people aren't happy about that. Judd, who is a p.i. and a bodyguard, meets London at a society affair. London is almost kidnapped but Judd saves her so London hires him to be her bodyguard. As the two try to figure out why their pasts keep intersecting when they've never met before, the attacks on them keep escalating! The whole series has been about why Judd's father allegedly committed suicide 20 yrs. ago by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge because he was a serial killer (and a cop) but none of his sons have believed it and the ending is such a surprise, I was completely caught off guard by it! I always enjoy catching up with characters from previous books and the last chapter in this one does that! I would definitely recommend this book! It kept me turning pages late into the night!

When Judd Brody agrees to do some bodyguard and investigation work for socialite London Breck, he has no idea what he is getting into. Judd trades his biker boots and devil may care attitude for suits and the boardroom. Still, he gets the feeling that the corporate image is as much a charade for London as it is for him.

London Breck is determined to step into her father’s shoes as the CEO of her family company. When a failed kidnapping, a break in at her apartment, and a dead body throw her off balance she turns to Judd for help. It cannot hurt that the man is easy on the eyes and fun to be around too.

As London and Judd get closer to the root of the mystery, they discover the secrets in Judd’s past are tangled up with those of London’s family. As passions spiral out of control it will take both of them to unravel the truth. In the end the Brody clan will discover nothing was ever like they thought.

It would be helpful for readers to pick up the previous books in the Brody Law series to catch up on the drama. Judd and London have a sparkling chemistry and plenty of witty dialogue to enjoy. The final twist may strike readers as just a little bit unbelievable, but in fiction anything is possible.

This was an exciting finale to the Brody Law series. The Hill concentrates on Judd Brody, the youngest of the brothers and the least affected by their father's suicide (now that they all know he was not the Phone Book Killer). Or so it seems.

When Judd meets up with London and they discover their lives are crossed somehow, they team up to discover how. Their feeling for each other grow by the minute. Judd's need to protect London keep them close enough for the inevitable to happen. And happen it does! Sizzling hot romance!!

Through it all, London keeps getting tips from criminals, her dead father, people who were around when Judd's father leapt from the Golden Gate bridge all those years ago. How do they all tie together? Judd and London follow the clues, people with answers keep disappearing and finally - they find the truth.

Carol Ericson wove a great story, spanning decades and managed to tie up all the loose ends with The Hill. Great mystery, great solution. I liked the interaction between London and Judd. The action was believable and all in all, a very good read. I would definitely recommend this to my friends.

so far the series is good and excited. I like their attractions for each other. I read from the bridge until the hill, and I love it.
But, I was kind disappointed for the last scene when their father coming to the light. after the years "hidden in the dark", he came from nowhere and make everything make sense.
I kind of said "oh come on, you couldn't just 'poof' and forgot everything else you leave in the past. your actions already ruined your family, you hurt your wife and your children. and after long years in the dark, you appear in front of everyone like a hero. not so good!!!"
if I can say "I love the stories but I hate the father and his happiness, because I think he is not worth it after everything he did to his wife and children. not hero but coward and kind of selfish. He gone to live in the dark and leave his wife to take care their children and disorder case without saying anything."
I am sorry if my comment bothered you. I just wanted to express my opinion. no offense. Beside the coward father in the last series, I love everything in this series from first book until the fourth. I was hooked from the beginning until the end.

In Ericson’s romantic suspense novel, P.I. Judd Brody gladly agrees to safeguard socialite London Breck only to be disappointed. He had high hopes for parities and fun and found instead an attraction he never expected to find.
For London, her past is catching up to her but it didn’t compare with the terror she now faced. It was time to confront her family and their secrets and she could do it—as long as she has Judd by her side.

A sizzling conclusion to the Brody Law series.

Sadly the series ended but this was a grand slam. This is filled with suspense as you went around San Fran with P.I. Judd and his client. Then it is sprinkled with romance and ends with a kicker. Out of the books this was my fav.
