Glow in the dark!
The tenth installment of Manix Abrera's Kikomachine Komix has never lost its flair to make my heart smile. Sanduguan ng Sangkalawakan may not be the best in the series but this certainly is a very memorable one for its fans. The comics started great, it has given me consistent laughs. Worth mentioning is the Banahaw arc. I believe it is the best in this volume. Oh Prof. Nilo Ocampo? Asteeg mehn. This volume's cover is by the way the best for me among the ten.
Sanduguan ng Sangkalawakan struggled in the middle part though. The punchlines felt a bit forced while other strips were too preachy and not funny at all. Even Bertong Badtrip's ever-gruesome but satisfying retribution to annoying people regressed to Bertong Badtrip being well, just badtrip. But it managed to redeem itself in the homestretch. The occult, classroom situations, gore, introverted behavior, and metaphysical banats are funny again!
Kikomachine Komix 10 has an unexpected touching moment. And wow that was tearfully memorable for me.
Thought-provoking at the same time, entertaining.
The tenth book of Manix never fails to deliver your everyday batch of weirdness deep-fried in hell’s armpits. Yes. It’s that good. And maybe socially relevant. If you consider popping eyeballs a norm.
GLOW IN THE DARK 'TONG LIBRO NA 'TO!!! Haha. Nagulat talaga ako. Minsan kase tinabi ko 'to sa pagtulog tapos naalimpungatan ako in the middle of the night--tapos natakot ako konti kase nag-give off ng greenish glow ang book na 'to.
Anyway, Sir Manix never fail to make me laugh.
This volume helped me a lot in getting through most of my public commute life lately, and as expected that being left me laughing out loud on jokes I really found funny. With my beloved quirks, and characters on board, sorry not sorry people, you've got a weird one here. Last but not the least, its cover glows in the dark! I cannot even! Rakenrol!
Rak-en-rol! Asteeg! Hardcore!
