Nothing made sense To hide from her ex-boyfriend Lori Lawrick runs to her Aunt Jan. Jan runs a bed and breakfast, and Lori decides that might be what she needs to put her life back in order. She will help her Aunt cook and plant vegetables while she decides what to do with her life. He said he was born to make tea At her Aunt’s B, Lori meets Byron, a handsome jeweler who creates incredible works of art in gold and precious stones, but he says it is his duty to make tea. While the tea served in a fancy dragon-shaped teapot is excellent, it is not what she would consider putting him to his best use. She dreams of him, and when he kisses her, she wants to chop into a tree the statement “It happened here” explaining the magnitude of the effect the kiss had on her.
The B stands at a nexus of several different worlds Lori comes to realize nothing is what it seems at the B There is a witch who threatens Byron’s life when she asks for tea. Plants grow overnight when watered by the tea, and then there is Byron himself who infuriates her and at the same time makes her pulse throb who is never around when the tea is served. When Lori discovers a real dragon who terrifies her, she must find the strength to save Byron, the B and maybe the entire planet from evil sneaking in from a portal from another world.
Dragons, fairies, mages, wizards, evil and good weave in and out of this tale of a educated woman discovery that things are not always what the seem.
Lori Lawrick's life is on the perfect track as she just delivered her Doctoral Thesis of Anthropology and so nailed it, so she jumps in her car and goes to her OCD BF's, Andrew, house to share her news. After she walks through his opened front door, her life and world are devastated and she flees in terror. It's not everyday when your BF has a skinless remains of a human foot on the floor as he is naked, cooking it and mumbling in a weird language! Lori runs to her car, calls the police and for some unknown reason jumps on a plane to her kooky Aunt Jan's B&B.
Byron, Brew to his close friends, has a past that is shrouded in mystery and myths. He lives at The Dragon's Roost (Jan's B&B) and has the most beautiful gold and jewelry store in the world. To the town, Bryon crafts and designs the most breathtaking jewelry with Dragon's gold and unique jewels, but they fear him. To humans, Bryon seems to have this power flowing through his veins and it scares them away.
When Lori and Bryon meet, their two separate worlds collide as a older and crusty man named Authur puts a Dragon's gold wedding ring set on Lori's third finger of her left hand. Lori is transported to endless visions of her and Bryon getting down and dirty, walking hand and hand, playing with dark eyed children and growing old together. As she comes out of the trance, Bryon looks like he experienced the same thing. Bryon volunteers to take her to The Dragon's Roost, but she will have to get in the door by herself. What's that suppose to mean, IF she can get in? When they reach her aunt's B&B, Lori's sane world slowly begins to dissolve into insanity.
Aunt Jan welcomes her with open arms, a protection kiss, delicious food and a really beautiful, exquisite and unusual Dragon teapot. Lori starts to freak out internally, when she swears the teapot WINKS at her. With the sexy, leather wearing, 12 pack and golden eye Bryon around her, Lori has so many steamy, hot and "Yes, do me now!" dreams that she craves him even more. Bryon can't stay away from sweet smelling and sexy as Hades Lori, but he can't fall in love with her, it could kill him. With so many spoken references of dragons and Bryon, color towels with powers and feelings, delicious food galore, a kitchen that totally and magically cleans itself, the warming and sensual Dragon tea, a witch, her crazy EX, a strange and scaly kitty, and so many other strange and unearthly things begin to happen at this quirk B&B. Will anyone tell Lori what Bryon is? Can she love some THING? How will Bryon protect Lori from the evil and cruel Andrew? Who is hunting who? How long until these two JUST DO IT? Will Bryon allow himself to be unprotected, so he can truly love Lori? Will Aunt Jan ever stop cooking? What exactly is chained up in the basement?
This is my first book by Ms. Bennett and I enjoyed the unique, kooky and slightly off kilter characters. Ms. Bennett created each individual character out of love. She brought The Dragon's Roost world alive with all the quirky and mysterious objects, animals and also the creepy rooms. I loved the budding and fragile relationship between Bryon and Lori. Ms. Bennett writes great and awesome sexual tension between these two. I was enjoying the book and then portals opened and I got so lost. The story does lead up to the mysterious happenings, but the story went SciFi on me. It was like someone took part A and C and inserted SciFi in the part B. I did finish the story because I grew to love Lori, Bryon, Aunt Jan and even crusty Authur and I had to know what happened to them. Ms. Bennett can spin a great yarn, but lost me in the middle. I would read another of her books because the girl can write. I gave her a score of 2 fingers up (the SciFi part brought the score down) and 7 toes because of her amazing, hilarious, loveable and "so real to me" characters.

A DRAGON'S TALE by Betsy J. Bennett is an intriguing Paranormal Erotic Romance. Filled with whimsical delights, such as wizards, fairies, a dragon's tea, and yes, dragons and it would be remiss not to have a witch with a huge ability few others possess. A secret or two, a teapot and of course, a bit of lust.
Lori Lawrick, running from an ex-boyfriend, Andrew, who not only may be a murderer, but he is a wizard, intent on using Lori to get what he wants, the Dragon's Roost, her aunt's Bed and Breakfast Inn, which is situated on the nexus of worlds. And Bryan MacLauchland, a dragon who can turn himself into a teapot, yes, you heard correctly a teapot, when someone wishes tea. He has been wounded in a fight to save the Inn. Lori discovers she is a witch, who possess a unique and powerful, power, she can close portals. Nothing is as it seems at the Dragon's Roost.
Lori and Bryan have a powerful attraction, more than just lust, but a passion few find together. Together, they must fight to save the Inn, and come to grips with their own powerful emotions and survive the battle that is coming.
A magical tale where worlds collide, passions fly, and love blossoms. A delighted tale of magic and love. An intriguing tale with engaging characters and an intriguing storyline with a bit of mystery interweaves magic, danger, and love into the story. Received for an honest review from the publicist.
