"What's Baking? For Regina, it is Raspberry Shortbread Cookies."
Regina Doust owns her bakery in the small coastal town of Rye, N.H. When Mrs. Jamison asks her to provide various baked goods for their annual Christmas Party, she’s excited to do so. A last-minute change in the menu happens as Mrs. Jamison orders more food because her son, Kaspar, has come home with twenty guys from college. Regina manages to bake enough treats in time with the help of a handsome man who works for the catering company.

Kaspar is a bit taken aback by being put to work before his parent’s annual Christmas Party for the company workers in Rye. Being one of the largest employers in Rye, his parents hold to the motto to keep the employees happy. They asked him to come and oversee the company in Rye; at first, he was disappointed with the assignment, wanting to work in Boston, at the headquarters, but accepted his job in Rye. Slowly, he begins to understand why he’s placed there and why his parents felt it was the best place for him to learn the business. Not to mention that he’s captivated by Regina and her Raspberry Shortbread Cookies; they are just as unique as the woman who’s baked them.

Every girl in town tries to woo Kaspar. Because of Regina’s attraction to him keeps him at arm’s length. Slowly, they begin to have a friendship. When a serious accident happens at the fish processing plant, tension begins to rise. Kaspar keeps his distance from Regina to keep her from harm’s way. Who is attacking the plant? Is someone out to kill Kaspar? Why? Can he and Regina manage to develop a relationship as they work through all the crazy events that happen in town and at the plant? Not to mention, why are her Raspberry Shortbread Cookies so desirable? as well as the baker who makes them.
