M Guida has always loved fantasy and romance, especially dragons. Growing up, she devoured fantasy books and all kinds of young adult books. And then she found romance and a whole new world opened up to her.
Now as an adult, she fell in love with academy romance and has blended all of her past loves into one compelling series. Dragons, vampires, elves, demons, and shifters all attend Legacy Academy.
When she's not writing, she lives in the colorful Rocky Mountains with her fur baby, Raven, and enjoys taking her for walks.

This is a Vampire mafia romance that can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the other books of the series since many facts from the previous books are mentioned, which will make the reading experience better!❤️
Gianna is a member of the powerful vampire mafia Santi where her brother is the vampire lord. She didn’t want to be a mafia princess, let alone a vampire. One night she sneaks out in New Orleans and is caught in a war between wolves and vampires. She is viciously attacked by the enemy wolves that want to send a message to her brother. With her life in peril and assassins on the move, Gianna travels to Salem to visit a witch friend who lives near a Magic Academy full of magical creatures. I absolutely loved the setting, the descriptions were so vivid! There she meets Dimitri, a born vampire with a troubled past and family. They were instantly attracted to one another , but her brother is strictly against it. The chemistry between them is electrifying and the spice is 🔥🥵
Dimitri feels an intense protective feeling towards Gianna (I love the protective trope!) which is necessary since evil lures in the darkness searching for magic & power and they want to use Gianna and Dimitri for their dark purposes.
What you can expect: ✨Vampire mafia ✨forbidden romance ✨fated mates ✨werewolves X vampires ✨enemies to lovers ✨set in New Orleans & Salem ✨fast paced
I could not put this one down til I had devoured it whole. Dimitri and Gianna's chemistry was so addictive and their banter and tension was beyond swoonworthy!!
What to Expect: —Enemies-to-Lovers —Dual POV Chapters —Forbidden Romance —Morally Grey MMC —Vampire Mafia —Magical Prophecies

I liked this story and found it fun to read. Add one vampire princess with some trouble and in danger and one vampire with a hidden agenda and a snarky attitude and get a fun entertaining story. Some mystery and suspense add to the overall feel to the story besides the romance element. Plus vampire mafia characters add to the fun. Enjoyed all the supernatural beings and thought it was fun to read and had me laughing at times.
This book is part of the French Quarter Vampire King series, and the main characters are mafia princess Gianna Santi, who is practically a prisoner in her brother Angelo’s home in New Orleans, and Dimitri Dragan, a born vampire based in Salem, who has a shady past and has a reputation for betraying people, not that many know the truth of that fact. Gianna was turned by her brother some four hundred years ago, to save her life, and she has lived under his strict control ever since. Escaping her bodyguard and sneaking out of her room one night, to go to a bar and meet friends, is nearly the end of her. Another woman with her friend, actually a wolf shifter, gives her a warning that she is in a dangerous position and being targeted by a selection of wolves. As she leaves early and goes back down the side alley, in order to transform unseen into her bat form, it is too late, and she can smell a wolf shifter behind her. He attacks her and she finds she is paralysed, unable to transform or even fight back. A whole pack of wolves come and join in attacking her and leaving her petrified, only saved by the appearance of her brother and his men. She is left near death, having been poisoned with wolfsbane, not allowing her vampire self to heal. Her brother wants her out of town, away from the werewolves and somewhere safer, after a magical object showed her being killed in a warehouse in town. Angelo is not one to forgive an error or a mistake, so she has to plead that he doesn’t kill her bodyguard Jaques, who is like one of the family to her.
That leaves her being forced to travel to Salem, which is controlled by witches and where her best friend Louise’s birthday party will be. At least she will get to stay with friends, Louise and Augustus. Petar Dragon will now be her personal bodyguard, someone she has never been comfortable around. She will also be introduced to their friends Rose and Valentin, the younger brother of Dimitri and the reason Dimitri broke Dracula’s rules and worked for his father for a while, all to save his brother. His father Petar was not a nice person and tortured Valentin all the time, until Dimitri stepped in to stop him, but it all came at a price. Valentin lived through years of torment, physical beatings and verbal abuse from his father Petar, but refuses to avoid Louise’s party just because Petar will be there! Angelo and his family broke away from Dracula’s rules, even though it was Dracula who rewarded Angelo with the ability to shift into a bat as well as a wolf. Angelo as been buying up loads of magical objects, in a hope to renew the magic in his Aeternum Stone, which is flickering out, as are the wolves’ and the Dark Fae’s. It seems Angelo has sent Petar to Salem with his sister, to get Petar to get something from the dark magic High Priestess at Goody Magic Academy, the birthday party just gives him a reason to send him with Gianna. The unfortunate news is that Gianna will be staying with Petar, in an apartment across from Louise and Augustus. Augustus has a magical elixir for her and that helps her to heal her body, but her mind is another matter.
Dimitri finds himself attracted to Gianna as son as he sees her getting out of the car at the academy, but puts it to the back of his mind, as he needs to know what his father is up to. That is soon forgotten about as Augustus gives Gianna the elixir and her body started convulsing, causing Dimitri to come crashing through the balcony doors in his bat form. He is angry that someone in the room has hurt her and holds her in his arms as she falls unconscious. He doesn’t realise why he is so ferociously protective towards her but will figure it out soon enough! They are fated mates and he won’t leave her, nor allow his father anywhere near her. Although Petar has received something from the Head Mistress, which he will use to make Dimitri follow his orders to steal some magical objects from the academy and from Angelo, threatening Gianna and Valentin if he doesn’t do it! He forces Dimitri to come back to New Orleans with him and Gianna, and to join the Angelo family. Who his father is working for is unclear, but it definitely isn’t Angelo. Angelo forces her to come back home the next day, even though the wolves have a contract out on her. He isn’t happy about the news of her and Dimitri being fated mates and beats Dimitri up as soon as they arrive. Thankfully, he manages to fight back for a short while, but not for long, since Angelo is so much stronger than him. Gianna tells him not to kill Dimitri or she will leave and so he makes him his new chauffeur!
Dimitri and Gianna have no choice in who they are bonded to, but Angelo certainly doesn’t appreciate it, and Petar is forcing Dimitri to steal from his new boss Angelo. Gianna is willing to defy her brother to protect Dimitri from him, but Angelo forces a wedding upon them for the end of the week. Petar pushes action onto Dimitri whilst Gianna is out choosing her wedding dress, and her brother is at a meeting. She is not secure, and Dimitri gets a glimpse of something wrong and has to race to rescue her. It will not be the last attack, and Gianna will be traumatised once again, with Dimitri coming to her rescue just in time and willing to give his life to protect her! The wolf king denies his people are involved and magical items going missing has Angelo questioning the local witches as well. Gianna and Dimitri get targeted again when out in disguise in town, this time ending up where Angelo has feared, the very place he had seen a vision of her being killed. At least Angelo now believes that Dimitri will protect his sister, Gianna, even if he isn’t quite as powerful as him and finally allows him to become part of his family.
So much more to be uncovered in this series, with Petar’s twisted use of Dimitri for his own evil plan and his hidden boss whoever that is, and Angelo will soon find love, something he has always said he would never have, but it comes unexpectedly even for a closed off and hard heart like his! A book that definitely had you rooting for Dimitri and hoping Gianna will survive all of these attacks and the real people behind everything will be found. I can’t wait to see if Petar gets his just desserts and look forward to seeing what happens next. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout, and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
If you're like me and were raised by Twilight and the Vampire Diaries so you could become a dark mafia romance girlie as an adult, then Kiss of Blood and Sin needs to be on your tbr. It's the perfect meeting of both of those things: vampire mafia romance!
The story follows Gianna, a reluctant vampire mafia princess turned into a vampire by her brother, who is the clan leader. When a magic mirror reveals a plan to unalive Gianna, her brother sends her away for her own protection. But the assassin's identity is a mystery, and Gianna trusts no one. At least until she meet Dimitri, a dangerous, snarky vampire who may be the key to her survival. Just one problem: her brother doesn't like Dimitri, making their instant attraction forbidden!
This was a very enjoyable read, and like other books by M. Guida, quick! This story perfectly captures the atmosphere of a dark paranormal urban fantasy, complete with the age old rivalry between vampires and werewolves, while also emulating the "clan" dynamics and danger of a mafia romance. I was especially fascinated by Angelo, Gianna's brother. I love how protective he was of his sister, and how dangerous he was, even percieved through Gianna's POV. I can only imagine how addicting this dark and handsome mafia leader will be in his own book (which is coming next!)
The romance storyline between Gianna and Dimitri was also quite enjoyable. I especially enjoyed Dimitri, who is the sort of snarky that will appeal to fans of characters like Damon Salvatore or Dean Winchester (and I LOVE them!) I do wish they'd had some more meaningful interactions though. Thier dynamic shifts quickly from strangers to adoration. One of their tropes justifies it, but I was missing some angst to truly feel invested in their happily ever after.
Rating: 3.5 | Spice 2.5 (multiple explicit spicy scenes on page, but they're not too lengthy or excessively descriptive)
Thank you to the author for gifting me an ebook copy to review. Opinions are my own.
I will be updating this review as I move along. I'm hoping it gets better. so far not convinced that Gianna isn't a whimp who's fine living in her "gilded cage" "under a Creole moon" -- that's some hokey writing right there. I'm so far not. afan of the writing, pacing or descriptions -- I live in New Orleans and this just reads like a fantasy story in a real place, because FQ + New Orleans has a lot more guts, blood, piss and shit than that girl can deal with. Also seems really sketchy to be calling this a French Quarter vampire book if the MC is already running away to Salem to avoid these big bad wolves. I'm also tired of reading "exploding pain" every other paragraph in the beginning. Dmitri also seems like a callow asshole who's got unresolved Daddy issues and uses his weak brand of sarcasm to deal with his unresolved trauma. He comes off as blustering, annoying, and overcompensating. Super not into him. Also, are these characters really vampires, or superhumans with a bat mode built in?
Kiss of Blood and Sin is a book in the French Quarter Vampire King series. When I first read the overview for Kiss of Blood and Sin, I became captivated right away and knew that I had to read the book to see what it was all about. Kiss of Blood and Sin has aspects of Vampire and Mafia romance. Kiss of Blood and Sin is a prequel into the French Quarter Vampire King series. Kiss of Blood and Sin is the narrative of Dimitri and Gianna. I loved learning about Dimitri and Gianna as well as witnessing their love come to fruition. The chemistry between Dimitri and Gianna was undeniably electrifying and spicy hot. Author M Guida has created a spectacular vampire and mafia romance book. Kiss of Blood and Sin is suspenseful and certainly a page-turner of a paranormal romance story. I would most definitely recommend Kiss of Blood and Sin to anyone who loves vampire and mafia romances.

I'd normally give 5 stars to M Guida's books but I deducted one for two reasons. Dimitri's incessant snark, whilst initially entertaining, became more of a chore as there was no let up at any point. The second reason is nothing to do with the writing, more about whoever prepared this ebook. To leave a chunk of editorial direction in full view is just sloppy. If I'd made a comparable error in my working life, I would have been in deep trouble.
Angelo seems grumpier than usual in this series but I guess he has to counterbalance Dimitri! I am going to go on to the next book but not with quite the enthusiasm that I normally do with an M Guida offering.
My only problem with this book was I wish it was longer lol not that it needed to be longer I just hated to see the story end !!! The vampire world in M Guida's books is wonderful to read about. I love how her books could stand alone but I loved reading all the stories about these characters. Dimitri is the classic bad boy but add in he is a vampire and there is fantasy for days . I think all M Guida books are so fun to read and all her characters make you want to read more and more about them and I am looking forward to the next awesome story she writes !!!
I really liked Dimitri who started off as a jerk but quickly became my favorite. Gianna on the other hand didn’t do anything to get out of her gilded cage; 300 years old and her brother treated her like she was a young in and didn’t teach her self defense. I agree Angelo was a bad mother shut your mouth 🤐 but he was being duped by a member of his staff. Pater definitely didn’t get a father of the year award especially considering his threats and in my opinion I still don’t get why Gianna was targeted by the wolves. They were relentless and the story feels unfinished. I get Angelo was the Mafia king so target him not the pathetically helpless sister!
What I liked: -The story; vampires, werewolves, fae, and witches with mafia. The vampires in this world are more traditional and they turn into bats. -The romance was very enemies to lovers and filled with tension. -The setting; New Orleans and Massachusetts. -I liked how this book reminds me of the other vampire books 20 years ago but mixed in with the popular fantasy romance vibes.
4 out of 5 stars, really good.
Thank you for the free copy, Booksprout.

Gianna wants more freedom, but her brother wants to protect her from his enemies. Dimitri has a reputation for trouble, and a mouth bound to sink him into fights. He crosses paths with Gianna and finds his world turned upside down. I loved Gianna and Dimitri's story, the danger, banter/sass, suspense and their romance.

First off- this cover. Omg. So beyond stunning. We absolutely adore @mlguidawriter and her books. Fast paced. Romance. Enemies to lovers. Vampires and wolves. Mafia princess 👀 she is a made vampire. He is a born vampire. Slightly forbidden. This book also gave me all The Originals feels. Which is one of my fav series ever. If you love dark paranormal romance, vampires and morally grey men. You will love this steamy vampire romance! Definitely recommend for a quick binge read!
This smirking smirk of a smirk book finally got to the point where I couldn't finish it. The author needs,to learn a synonym for "smirk". First off that is a,stupid word, and to use it on at least every other page shows no thought or creativity on the writers part. I would recommend pulling the book, edit it again, take out 4 of every 5 " smirks" and release it again. All joking aside, I would bet money "smirk" was in this 347 page Book 200 times.
This is a story that has lots of action whether it be fighting or romancing. I have fallen in love with the main character and feel for what he has gone through and the choices he has had to make to keep his family safe even without them knowing. This book tugs at your heartstrings.

I did enjoy this book, the author weaves an enjoyable story full of action, violence, adventure, mystery, chemistry and connection. I loved the mix of witches, vampires and werewolves. If you have had the pleasure of reading some of M Guida's earlier books will recognise some of the characters.

We have magic, suspense, action and more. Oh don't forget dark and steamy. We have Dimitri and Gianna's story. Steam is on with them, but what will happen if her brother finds out.? Can Dimitri and her be together? You will want to keep reading until you find out.

While this was a little too insta-love for my liking, I enjoyed the story. I appreciated Dimitri's snark but wished to see a deeper relationship between him and Gianna. I noticed a lot of names from other vampire series. Was that a coincidence? I also loved that these vampires shifted into bats! I'm always drawn to the darker characters, so I'm excited to read Angelo's story next.
4 1/2 stars A wonderful look inside what should be a fascinating series starring two equally fascinating characters. I loved how quickly these characters came to life and how easily I found myself engaged in their story. I cannot wait to read more.

I really liked this book. I'm severely ADHD and usually dnf more books than I finish but never lost interest in this story. There is a bonus scene being emailed to me. I hope it covers the two things not wrapped up in this story. Kinda leaves you hanging on those but its a great book.
What an awesome story! It's a dark paranormal urban fantasy romance with vampires vs werewolves. It can be read as a standalone though it would most likely be more enjoyable if read in the series order. My favorite kind of book.
Part of the French Quarter Vampire King, a dark paranormal urban fantasy romance with vampires vs werewolves. It can be read as a standalone though it would most likely be more enjoyable if read in the series order. I enjoyed reading this story with its drama.
I love the banter that comes from Dimitri. However, I DNFd it and 65% because I was over how fast it was going. I jumped to the end and the last 3 chapters were so quick and ending with no real answers. While it can be read as a standalone, make sure to read every book.
