Eight islands make up the Spiral. Eight families plot to seat themselves at the head of a royal dynasty.

Atum, the son of a dethroned lord, yearns to leave the Spiral forever. However, his reclusive father—still bitter more than a decade after being thrown out of power—refuses to give Atum that freedom.

After Atum gains the ancestral ability to turn into smoke, he seizes the opportunity to make a deal. To earn his freedom, Atum will help his father reclaim his place as king.

In doing so, Atum must endure the many manipulations of the Spiral’s lords and ladies. He must also rush headlong into a journey that will take him to a dark forest of undead creatures, a fiery volcano of immense threat, and a dream realm that haunts his conscience.

Old alliances will be rekindled, a rebellion will be sparked, and one young man will decide the fate of the Spiral. What Atum can’t see is that no one will walk away without sacrifice.

ARC Reader Book Review 🤍

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a fun read, I loved the storyline w/ the 8 islands & different bloodlines, inheriting powers. I was intrigued right from the beginning & now I’m craving more. What 👏🏽 awaits 👏🏽 Atum 👏🏽
I need to know lol!! And how will the power shift change the isles?! This was such a nice palette cleanser esp since it’s a comic book & I could give my mind ease not trying to imagine everything lol.
The different pools also gave me heavy Lazarus Pit vibes w/ a twist (Which there were a few of 👀), I loved it. I wish it went more into depth than it did, but I’m also not complaining.
It was an overall fun comic book read!!
