Robert (Bob) Phillips is a rookie author whose friends have encouraged him to share his God-given spirit, enthusiasm, bigger-than-life personality, and love of people with others so that they may be inspired to meet their life challenges.
Bob was a Shriners Hospital patient from 1945-1957, a current member of Medinah Shriners for 56 years, and employed at Shriners International headquarters in Tampa, FL, for 22.5 years. He has been a member of the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation for 54 years.
I had the privilege of knowing Bob when I served as the Chief Medical Officer for all the Shriners Hospitals from 2000-2012. I particularly enjoyed being part of the men’s Christian group at HQ that he organized. Bob’s story about his OI and his multiple surgeries and his determination not to allow that to interfere with his accomplishments is an inspiration to not only kids with OI but to kids with any “disability”. What has always impressed me about Bob is that he always gave God the credit and the glory. I am very pleased that we have kept in touch. Well done good and faithful servant!
