Very fun book and just loved the house party theme with good friends and finding love.
Celia is at a house party and has an accident where the newly titled Duke comes to her aid and saves her. This is how they meet and where it all begins.
Keith has a new title, he has just become a Duke and he needs to marry. He learns that Celia is known for her matchmaking abilities and asks her for her help in finding a suitable match. Unfortunately he has no interest in the person Celia introduces him to or any other - all his interest is focused on Celia.
Celia enjoys helping others find their match but she has no interest in marriage for herself - until Keith enters her life and things get wonderfully complicated.
Loved the relationship between the H&H, they are both great characters. There is passion, there is heat, but there is also wonderful banter, joking, and communicating between them. Its not just a physical attraction, there is a deep pull between these two.
I received an ARC from the author, all opinions expressed are my own.
Spicy Regency- Overall I really enjoyed this whole series. They are all stand alone but the characters make repeat appearances so def more enjoyable if read in order.
I did not read these stories back to back so I may be wrong but this story seemed much spicier than the previous stories. Which on the one hand is fun, regency bedroom scenes tend to be on the more predictable and sometimes boring side. This was anything but.
However, on the other hand, this did steal from the story. Their relationship felt more superficial and based off physical attraction rather than a genuine respect and interest in the other.
the plot also got a little twisted. He is very much a domineering type which is also his biggest fear and of course the reason for the big ending brake up. This could have been done a little better because I did feel he was too pushy and not very nice at times.
Over all I’d recommend the series. They’re fun regency stories with many friendships and characters to look forward to!
HEA: Yes Spice: open door, and 4/5 heat Cliffhanger: no
When I was clicking on the two-star rating, the comment that was associated with it was "It was OK" This is how I would describe this book.
It had the plot, it had the potential but it wasn't executed well. I think the Editor plays a major role here.
Some of the things that irked me: -Who constantly thinks in their head and describes a scene with their mother around by her first name? I would understand if they were estranged or this is how he always does it. But he loves his mother and he is very proper towards her therefore this doesn't make sense. -The Epilogue was literally the next scene! It was nothing special -Then in the epilogue, they mention if you want to know more about Celia and Kieth and how they manage their relationship in the future read the epilogue on the author's website! I would like to get this in the book that I bought that is physically in my hand.
I enjoyed this steamy, well written story. The newly created Duke Keith came from Scotland, where he was a Laird. He had decided he needed a wife to help him restore his finances. He met Lady Celia, who was regarded as a spinster and also a matchmaker. Although Celia tried to guide him to Lady Alicia, he was not attracted to her. However, there was a strong attraction to Celia. I liked the banter between Keith and Celia and also the support that their friends gave them. I liked the idea of the group of Dukes offering friendship and guidance to a new Duke. Celia's matchmaking skills certainly had a big effect on the Dukes and their wives. An enjoyable read.
Another well written story by this fantastic storyteller. Full of drama, love, heat, steam, intrigue, passion, adventure, twists and turns. Celia is at a house party but while swimming, she has some issues and is saved by Keith, who just happens along at the right time. Keith is a new Duke who needs to marry to help put money back into his Dukedom. He hears that Celia is a matchmaker and asks her for help. So she has him meet her friend, but there is no sparks between them. He does feel the pull toward Celia. It's a back and forth between them with explosive feelings. Has a great group of returning characters from earlier books in this series. Would recommend to everyone. I received this book and leave this unbiased, honest review.
Wonderful book and characters. Neither one wanted to marry, but Celia is a matchmaker and Keith asks her to find him a bride. He needed a wife with a dowry to expand the coffers since becoming a duke in England as he was a lair in Scotland. He returned to England as his mom wanted to go back to her beginning roots. Keith meets Celia by the lake swimming at night when she was stuck in the reeds. Their story begins here and forever ended with the getting married and having their HEA . Loved the extended epilogue but would have like to see if they had more children in their life and seeing Keith being a wonderful father. Would highly recommend the series and author. Happy reading!😊
It was a brisk night for her to do her dare but it was as good as it would get she had taken off her clothes and stepping into the pond and it was freezing. And then she heard a voice oh no someone was there.. She was going to get out of the water and her leg was caught by reeds. The person on the beach was a man. She was trying to swim to shore when she got a cramp. When she looked to the shore the man was in the water coming to rescue her. But she was so without her clothes. Need less to say she was so embarassed. But he helped her to get to shore.
The way that Keith & Celia were both bold & unconventional made them a great match & their conversation fun to read. It was also great seeing the character from the previous books & how their stories happily continue.
Keith fear, while noble, was a bit frustrating, it was also frustrating how they both carry on one way with their actions, & another way with their thoughts & what they said. There was one unfortunate part that lasted a bit long for me, though I loved how much of the book was with them consistently around each other, talking & joking.
This is the fourth title in the Daring Dukes series by Sally Vixen. Caught at last! Celia’s dare finds her skinny dipping in the dark. Alone? I think not. Saved from drowning by a dark haired stranger who she later finds out is a Scottish Duke. Romance and miscommunication follow in this steamy regency romp. I always enjoy the way the author incorporates characters from previous novels and integrates them into the current story. As always, the author does a great job of storytelling and the ending is an HEA. If you like steamy, romantic regencies, you’ll enjoy this one
This was a great story with a great plot. I love how other stories inter played into this with the same characters. My biggest complaint was it was way too graphic for me. It didn’t stop me from reading though. I just skimmed over those parts and resumed reading.
It was a lovely story and enjoyable. I think most readers would enjoy this plot. The characters were very interesting and the female lead was very strong. If you like characters that challenge each other than you will like this book. I didn't enjoy the child abuse mentioned. However that's what happened often during that period of time.
I liked this book. The Duke that never expected to be a Duke. His father was a Scottish Laird who was a very mean, cruel man. He was afraid of becoming his father, but Keith was an honorable man. Cecilia did not want to get married. She saw that most men did not treat women with respect. I love a happy ending.
Love both main characters; Keith and Celia. He believed he could never have happiness or love. She was content with her status as a spinster. Once they met the attraction was instant. Together they discovered that all of their believes were unfounded! Hugely Recommend!!!!
This is the final book in the series where the five friends have to complete a dare. All the books have been wonderful to read and this one completes the series wonderfully
Amazing romance full of interesting characters and a wonderful storyline, it is an exciting and steamy story that I loved reading, All of the romance novels in this series are amazing!
Loved this book, Scottish man, warrior, handsome not shy meets English woman like no other English woman feisty, outspoken! Definitely a page turner, A must read will not disappoint. Totally into Scottish and English lasses story.
This book started with an interesting idea but failed to deliver any real story. There is no mystery, adventure, intrigue but depends on steamy relationships between the two main characters. Very disappointing.
The story is very dramatic. You have a man running from memories in coloring a woman who decides to never to let a man take control of her life and the trials and trauma they go through, including lies being printed in the scandal sheets I highly recommend this book
This is a compelling story of a cruel father and mistreated wife. Just because a son looks like his father does not mean he will behave the same. It's definitely worth reading.
Celia has made a match for her friends but doesn't want a husband herself. Along comes the Scottish Duke Keith. Her world gets turned upside down. Great book and series.
I just binged this whole series in a matter of 2 weeks and this book by far is my favorite in the whole series. The banter and the love is just too sweet.
Keith was to die for, but the story dragged on a bit, and the conflict derived from the exact same place that the previous MMC's did - so it felt very repetitive.
