In The Token, part 1-4 we met physical therapist, Faren Mitchell who after being diagnosed with a brain tumor was hit by a Harley Davidson driven by billionaire Jared “Mick” McKenna. For reasons that will unfold, Faren decided to keep secret both her illness and her working graveyard at one of his strip clubs to pay for her mom’s medical care. Their budding romance was constantly overshadowed by traumatic pasts, shocking revelations, menacing villains, lies, deceit, secrets, crimes and corruption. But when they finally came together it was perfection!

The Token, part 5 will open up to the aftermath of part 4’s shocking cliffy. Faren and Mick’s romance takes the main stage with them exploring each other and deepening their bond allowing for some off-the-charts sex.

But several villains are still lurking making themselves known. Plus Faren and likely Mick still have secrets to tell…. From bliss, to indescribable heart-break, part 5 delivers such a roller-coaster of events and emotions I am uncertain if part 6 can repair….

The Token, part 5 took me from sky-high ups to rock-bottom lows. And like the previous installments it ends with a cliffy - this one positive, but not powerful enough to offset the trauma of previous events. I am looking forward to part 6, The Token 6 for the conclusion of their story.

Just when it looks like a happily ever after is close at hand, Faren is once again robbed of that life path.

Token 5 is a jarring addition to The Token Series. You can not help but be once again propelled into the tumultuous emotions, heartache ache and complete awe of the strength Faren displays. Just when I thought I had my emotions under check, Eros sends us into tears of a totally different nature. That being said, let's not forget the quirky, fun, and snarkiness that perfectly balance the gut-wrenching heartache.

Leaving me wanting more NOW, Eros created a story that will stick with you long after you are through. Perfectly blending sorrow and joy, heartache and happiness to create a marvelously executed storytelling.

Get ready to have your world rocked, AGAIN! The Token 5 by Marata Eros will take your heart on a wild ride that will make it soar one minute and plummet to the ground the next. How much can Faren take? How much does she still have to give? Even the moments of great joy have once again been tainted by a stalker, a dirty cop and worst of all, by Mick. Seriously? Now? Thank goodness for KiKi, Faren’s biggest advocate, staunchest supporter, gotta love that feisty, mouthy girl’s loyalty. (A lesson that could be learned by “He Who Shall Remain Nameless,” (not harping on you at all, Mick, honest))

On the plus side, there is heartfelt, sizzling romance, a la Marata Eros, who, once again also presents the best dialogue ever between characters. Every time I think Marata Eros cannot possibly get any better, BAM, she does, while maintaining the kind of writing style I love! She is unafraid to shove each scene in your face, filled with tension, intrigue and every emotion imaginable! But what Ms. Eros does to our Faren, you have to read to believe!

A perfectly delivered installment in The Token series, number 5 leaves us sated but not quite satisfied, being that Faren's harrowing tale has not come to a happy conclusion.

Faren & Mick finally find a bubble of peace and happiness. They're together, stronger than ever, but Faren's guilt for withholding her terminal illness from Mick, is weighing her down and she feels it's time to fess up. Grief, betrayal and misunderstanding come into play.
Jay "the lap" has become a dirty stalker and the corrupt cop Taggart is letting his presence be known. What else can seriously go wrong?

This my friends, was a gut wrenching tear jerker. Don't get me wrong, there is a whole heap of happiness, hilarious snarkiness (c/o Kiki) and delicious lovin' but oh how the tears did fall for Faren and her terribly unfair lot in life.
Marata knows how to evoke a tidal wave of emotions with her talented writing. I read it way too quick, it was over before I knew it and the wait for book 6 is not going to be a patient one!

Again, Ms. Eros has masterfully delivered a kick-butt story that you can't help but want to follow. My fingers and toes are crossed for Faren. Bring on The Token 6!

Throughout The Token series we have been treated to bombshell after bombshell and you will be pleased and frustrated to know that in book 5 of this series the biggest bombshell to date is reviled and it will leave you stripped to your core – now I did NOT see that one coming!

We join Faren and Mick directly after hearing the knee knocking news of Faren’s pregnancy. To become pregnant after having sex just the once what are the odds? Well there again, we are talking about Faren here who seems to have the worst luck in the majority of situations!! But there are so many questions in this situation that need answers but Faren is almost too afraid to ask…….Does Mick still want her? Does he want the baby? Does she want the baby……Does she have enough time left to have the baby? With all of these questions swirling around in her mind she finds it hard to concentrate, her mind bursting with unanswered questions, which the answers are capable of raising her up or destroying her.

With her mother’s debt finally paid off and the shock of her mother waking up, each day feels like a betrayal as she keeps the secret of the baby and her medical condition close to her heart. Just spending time with her mother, allowing her sent and voice fill her feels like it is healing old wounds and providing her with the strength she needs to face her current circumstances, no matter what her mother comes first. A beautiful flourishing relationship begins to unfurl supporting her – but will she tell her mum her secrets? Can she tell her mum that she has but a short time left with her and that time has again cheated them?

Tannin Mitchell is a stubborn woman with a heart of gold, she loves her daughter with all her heart but when she wakes from her coma the world has changed in frightening but also exciting ways. The last time she saw Faren she was protecting her, Ronnie Bunce beat her so badly she fell into the coma, but she held out long enough to help Faren, her last wish. Now she awakes to a world where Faren is no longer the same young girl studying, a shy, and innocent in more ways than one, beautiful girl. But Ronnie Bunce had taken that innocence from her personality and scared her for life, her hand barely working, now he was dead, Faren older and time had been cruelly snatched from her grasp. Only time itself could heal this rift, this Tannin laughed at!

With the cold creeping in and Jay texting her to remind her of their agreement, Faren realizes she suddenly has far more to lose than she ever has had before – this time she really could lose her heart……..

I read books that I enjoy at a rather rapid speed devouring information as it washes over my imagination. Authors that are able to create a world you can slip into are very talented and in my opinion Marata Eros is talented!! Marata Eros has managed to stop me dead in my tracks more than once with this latest addition to The Token Series and I cannot wait to read the next instalment.

My Rant: The Token 5 picks up where 4 left off. Just when you think you are safe the unspeakable happens in this book. I am completely fascinated by this plot and its characters. Marata continues to amaze me by the way she spins this tale. Faren is hit with more emotional drama just when you think she is in her happy space something happens to completely turn her off course. Emotionally I was not ready for this. I just couldn't believe what was happening as I was reading the story. I am balling, tears are welling in my eyes because Faren is hurt and the object of this infliction shocks me. I am rocked down to my core and unable to get past this sweet torment. I love Mckenna, I mean love him but right now I want to bust him upside his f** head. My boy is just not thinking straight. I understand his logic, i get it , I really do but Jared if you are reading this you dum a$$ get your ish together , what are you thinking.

Kiki is a real hoot and the type of friend you want at your back when thing take a turn for the worse. She does major damage control and stays on guard for anything thing. Most of all she is hilarious. She has all the remnants of a girl with a uniques stye and outlook on life. Her spontaneousness and throughout patterns floor you. Marata was really creative with this characters personality and wittiness. Kiki is that home girls and some and you grow to lover her throughout the series more and more. Thron is starting to peck at my heart a little bit at a time because i have this thin line between love and hate for him. His bull-shitery is unspeakable but he is loyal to the core. He never knows when to shut his trap before matters get worse. But you love him because he says what everyone wants to say but don't have the guts to do it.

The plot was faced paced and when you get started you cant seem to let go. Marata writing style is sassy and incredibly witty. She writes with an air of piazzas which makes the token such an addictive hit. I crave it need it and think about it all the time. Thats why I heart her so. She is unique and you have to be open minded to get it ,but when she lays a book out there with a storyline such as the Token 5 and the complete token series you can help but fall into her rabbit whole of endless possibilities in her plots. The Token 5 is witty, raunchy, action packed, sexy, emotionally gripping and all out ball busting fantastic. I love , love , love the token series and I am so looking forward to book 6.

Overall I love this book and the Token Series. I rated this book 5 out of 5 Purple Rant Hearts and would recommend this book to anyone that loves a romance that is an emotional roller-coaster that is full of action. This book has all the elements of a great story with a edgy twist. I will be adding the Token 5 to my favorites list.

After learning some shocking news Faren has a whole new worry to take into account. As their relationship grows and evolves Faren realizes she cannot put off telling Mick about her terminal condition any longer. However, things take a dramatic turn and Faren is left in a position she never thought she'd be in. Will one of her "plans" get Mick back a second time around?

"Redemption is ours together. His for me, and mine for his. We're each other's catharsis."

As the installments continue I can feel the story start to slowly close down. Some major plot pieces have been taken care of yet there is still enough plot for more of the story. I was slightly disappointed at the revelation in this installment- just wasn't exciting in my opinion. But... about halfway the angst and drama picked up so I enjoyed this part of the story as much as the others.

FINALLY Faren sheds her meek persona and starts to stand up for herself- or maybe she's been around BFF Kiki too much. Mick's character takes a turn for the worst and he becomes the "broody" "damaged" type of male character- but Faren isn't having it. Thorn and Kiki come out of the dark and start to show their personalities as they navigate around Faren and Mick's lives. Each character really shined through in this part of the story and I felt as if I were right there along with them.

It's bittersweet to be nearing the end of Faren's story... I'm anxious to see how everything turns out but I'll be sad to see her go! Overall a four star read but bumped to five stars for the major plot twist at the end- and I mean MAJOR.

This instalment is a KICKER with CHILLI on TOP.

Getting so close to the end I can taste it but I really don't want it to end.

Mick and Faren are a meant to be, fully chemistry laden, soul mate couple.

The sexy scenes are off the charts hot and plentiful in this addition.

Wow Mick's idiocy in this instalment shows a plenty but is understandable, and hopefully a resolution is near.

Kiki is still her hilarious self and a constant joy to read. Thorn is getting more intriguing.

So many awesome revelations and neat little bow. Its getting so close now to the conclusion of Faren and Mick's story. (Yes I wish it wasn't going to be over either).

I think this is the most emotional of the series so far with some happy and some sad tears (mostly happy)

Marata Ero's constant roller coaster plot twists and refreshingly original characters are the best reasons to love her work. I know when I pick up a new story of hers I will be constantly entertained and turned inside out with that leave me wanting a whole lot more feeling that comes when you read an incredible story.

All up BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT instalment, cant wait to read what happens next. Will most definitely be continuing on with this series especially since the next one is the conclusion.

I’m not even sure where to start. I’m devastated, crushed, heartbroken, angry, frustrated and yet I’m more in love with Mick now than before…even if he is acting like a complete ass. I am so caught up in this love affair that is Mick and Faren that while reading, my heartbeat accelerates, and I hold my breath in anticipation of what will happen next. A perfectly woven web that just keeps getting better.
~ Faren ~ “I could never have enough of what he gives me. I’m so greedy it feels like an addiction.” And what a beautiful addiction Mick is. I just can’t get enough. I want more.
Redemption is ours together. His for me, and mine for his. We’re each other’s catharsis.
~ Mick ~ “You can’t show me heaven, then toss me in hell Faren Mitchell. It doesn’t work that way.” Gah!!!! I swear that man ripped my heart out!! I couldn’t decide if I wanted to cry or scream……so I did both!! Oh how I would love to know what goes through that man’s mind, what he thinks, how he feels….(hint, hint Marata).
Another must read so addictive; it will leave you craving for more.

I'm really enjoying this series. Although predictable it's a really great story.

Now with Faren's stepfather gone, there is one headache down but plenty of other issues still linger keeping you enthralled in the story-line. We still have crazy Jay, who I now believe knew what Faren meant to Mick all along and have a feeling he was the other person in Rose's slaying. Then we have her medical issues and the rabid cop out to get anyone associated to Mick.

My heart breaks for Faren and her current situation with Mick, but her amazing mother gives comfort during this difficult time. Thorn tries to help the situation only to make it worse on accident of course. I really hope he ends up with Kiki in the end.

We get a not so much surprise ending, but it still leaves the reader eager to want more. May can not come fast enough.

Predictable

Well, I knew she would do it and she did. Of course, I won't tell you what the author did but I will say I was a little disappointed. I love the action and nail-biting drama. I love her boyfriend but still think she whines entirely too much and expects people to forgive her while she plays judge and jury. Then again, boyfriend did a really dick move in this book. If I was her mother, I would have found a way to kick his ass. Good book though because I still grind my teeth about the characters stupidity days later. I recommend this series to lovers of romance/erotica/drama. Keep on reading those stories my fellow bookworms!

So Faren's big reveal to Mick made me cringe and I had to keep going. I would say this book was better than 4, but I'm still cringing about how this will end. Not digging the Jay or Ronnie things. At all. And the showdown with Tagger had me scratching my head.
