Milo Kyrovsky is the enemy.
And yet he's his addiction.
Milo doesn't belong is this world.
But, Milo is the only thing he wants in the world.
He wants the one man that he can't have, the man he should never care about, and for reasons he can't understand yet, all he can think about is Milo Kyrovsky.
They were always meant to hate each other. Their lives demanded it. That's why he had always kept so much distance between them because if his family knew about his feelings, it was going to start a war.
No matter how hard he tried, the undeniable attraction between them kept pulling them together. They keep trying to avoid the secrets that hide in the shadows and he knows that sooner or later, they are going to destroy one another.
The only question left to ask was, who was going to survive?
Deviant Legacy is the second book in The Notorious Legacy Series by Sophie Dyer and I have to say that I am in love with not only the world that Sophie has created but also the characters that she has created.
Here we are following our two MMCs Milo and Alvaro. Alvaro is Alanis's twin, and Alvaro is ready to replace his dad and take over his dad's position within The Five. Alvaro is not only quiet but also on the grumpy side, but despite this, you can see how much he he cares about the people he loves and cares about. And then we have Milo, and Milo is a character that you just can't help but love. He is so charming with this perfectly crafted carefree attitude, or at least that's what he wants you to believe. Beneath it all, beneath the well-crafted exterior, he's hiding this deep heartache, a pain so deep it's heartbreaking, and so many secrets it's just stunning.
I loved how well-crafted this plot was. You could tell how much time and effort Sophie took in developing it. And the tension between Varo and Milo from Precious Legacy morphed into what felt like a living thing in this book. Milo and Alvaro are supposed to hate each other, they are supposed to be enemies, they are supposed to be working against each other. But, somewhere along the lines the lines get blurred and things start to blur and get complicated.
I adore how with Varo you don't have to guess who he is, what he is, what he is thinking. With Varo, you always know that he is what he appears to be and you don't have to guess anything. I love the way that he appears to be just another open book and you can read him easily.
Milo on the other hand has all these secrets that he's trying to keep hidden and trying to handle and keep track of. He's keeping himself closed off not wanting to let anyone in, not wanting to let anyone get to know him or learn his secrets.
What I loved was watching Varo break down all the walls that Milo had carefully built over the years, ripping away Milo's carefully created facade, forcing Milo to open up and let Varo in. I loved how Varo got into Milo's head and got to know what was really going on in Milo's head and in the world that Milo had carefully created.
I loved all the twists and turns that Sophie brought into this book and you never knew what was going to happen next. This was a roller-coaster ride of emotions and Sophie Dyer had this perfect way of bringing it all together so perfectly.
And the ending, the ending of this book left my jaw on the ground and it honestly took me a few minutes to pick it up and close my mouth.
I highly recommend this book, this series and honestly, I would recommend anything by Sophie Dyer.
