Letsea Brechenworth has a secret, and she’s not telling.

As administrator of her ancestral St. Charles, Missouri estate, Letsea’s mindful of its future, leaving her own heartfelt dreams on hold. When she hears the voice of the ghost of a deceased family connection, she changes her life’s direction.

Despite her busy schedule, Letsea promises to help the spirit find peace about a decades old murder and alleged cover-up. Then a fortunate meeting with a notable private detective, fills Letsea with new hope of finding romance.

Undercover Special Agent Godrick Lockhart is pulled from his Christmas vacation to discover Miss Brechenworth’s interest in the murder of FBI Agent Reynolds, nearly a century beforehand.

He observes her at the famed Whispering Arch in the Grand Hall of St. Louis' Union Station. After an awkward introduction, he manages to interview the elegant heiress.

This was a good read, though it took me a while—about 75 pages—to really settle into the story. Once it found its rhythm, the characters and plot came together nicely, making it worth the wait. It’s a well-crafted book overall, but that slow start nearly had me putting it down before it truly took off.
