Gunner Shit went down, and my cousin, Mikael, the leader of the Gothenburg chapter was arrested and is serving time in prison. Annika did this. She was the apple of our eyes when my parents fostered her, and my fondness grew for her in more than a brotherly way. But something changed in her, and she turned against us.
I hadn't seen her for three years until last week when a girl similar in features to Annika appeared on the Gotland University campus. Her name and hair are different, and she wears glasses, but I know it's her, and I'll keep pursuing her from afar, obsessively, until she breaks.
Ronan The awkward kitchenhand I hired at The Savile Club is a girl I've seen before naked, uninhibited, and beautiful. As I watch her closely, the mask begins to slip, dark secrets are revealed, and an insatiable hunger grows to climb between those legs and tear her apart.
Mikael Released from prison today, and I have only one goal. To hunt Annika down and destroy her for what she did to our family and business. Eye for an eye. She owes me her life.
Annika I messed up badly. Now, I live in fear under the watchful eyes of enemies stalking me, eliminating any man that comes near while waiting for the right time to strike. That time is now. Mikael has just been released from prison, and I know they will taunt me until I'm broken before taking my life.

So I started skimming this one fairly quickly. Though I think the idea of this story is good, the execution of the writing is pretty bad. The book is mostly ‘filler’, stuff that’s written, but doesn’t add anything, only delays the progression of the story and annoying as hell. Even with skipping almost everything of that, I could follow along with the storyline without problem. Essentially, there’s maybe 50 pages of true important storytelling in this book, even if that.
The author also changes between present and past writing, which is something that is annoying but I can understand in beginner-writers. Edit: I have now seen that the writer is anything BUT a beginner. Wow, I’m amazed that someone who’s published multiple books, even has books that are read by more than 1000 people, hasn’t worked out how to write in present tense or past tense, consistently. I’m also amazed now by the amount of typo’s and the weird sentence-building etc., I truly thought I was reading a book from a beginner writer!!
I liked that every character had a pov, it made it at least a bit more interesting. There wasn’t really any ‘relationship’ development, but they have sex pretty quickly after meeting. In a short amount of time she has sex with 3 different guys (1 isn’t in the harem) and even though I’m all for a girl being boss over her own body and being promiscuous isn’t anything bad per se, it did feel a bit much in this book because there’s so little emotional development between the characters. It mostly feels like she hasn’t grown out of her coping mechanisms yet, and unfortunately, that doesn’t make for great long-term relationships- which i guess would this story build up to as this is only book 1.
I wanted to ‘finish’ this, to see if it would become more interesting for me to read the next book, and though it ends on a cliffhanger that could made book 2 interesting for the intrigue, I won’t be reading it. I’m afraid the second book won’t be that different in writing style, and it just wouldn’t be worth it for me.
I’m not trying to discourage the author to write, because, as I said, the idea of the topic is good! But I do think, after writing so many books (more than 20), the author might get some more training in pronunciation, grammar and hire someone to do the editing, as well as training in how to write and keep it interesting.
“They’d never hire a girl like me with the flexibility and gracefulness of an African Rhino.”
“Seriously? Stalking is not a healthy hobby”
It has taken me a moment to write this, it is rare for me to pick up a book that I end up not enjoying. Unfortunately this was one of those, I loved the idea and the set up for this story however it was very surface level and lacked the depth for the environment and characters. As much as I am keen to see where this series goes, I am hesitant as I am unsure if the writing gets better.

The book was good, there was a bit of a slow confusing story line. But mostly I have 3 stars because of the Spelling/grammar mistakes and some parts of the story got confused, like saying the masked man’s kisses were different to Ronans but the mask man never kissed her. And then her calling the masked man by his actual name before she knew who it was. Also mixing up the pov of he said instead of I said…. Idk it kind of took away from the book
Enjoyed this book. The plot was good and has me intrigued. Cliffy ending and I wanna know what happens so book two is must. It did have errors in it that were annoying but I could get past them to keep reading as I said I enjoyed the plot and characters. Mafia, hidden identity, past connections,. Coming forward to finding out all the twists.
