🌶 1.5

what a wild, wild book. i can genuinely say that when sebastein described it as a “spicy, thrilling, introspective & emotional” read, i literally had no idea what to expect… but it certainly was all of the above. from start to finish it took me on the craziest adventure - majority of which i absolutely did not see coming. lisa is on the verge of burnout & accepts an invitation for a wild weekend on the island with her ex. the trip uncovers a host of thrilling secrets that threaten to throw her life into a tailspin.

the third party narration took me a minute to readjust to, but with the amount of detail required to build out such complex stories made it necessary. I found myself questioning every character in the book (even lisa) & overanalyzing every word or action that seemed out of place. it truly felt like i was part of the book, which made it really engaging to read.

the book is set in various cities across canada as well as parts of saint martin which was really fun to read. i truly loved the little bits of history & geography that was sprinkled in with each new location. normally too much background or description pulls you out of the story, but this was just written so well that it blended in seamlessly with the story & as a result wasn’t jarring in the slightest. the whole thing was just written in a way that flowed so nicely, i swear it felt like i was watching a movie most of the time.

the chapters were a little on the long side so that was the only part that was a little hard to digest. as a result the book was a little longer than expected, however looking back, i don’t know that any part of it could have been omitted or shortened for the sake of the length. everything just…fit.

extremely clever & wildly entertaining.

📖✨ Book Review ✨📖

Always to Be Found by @jsgazaille

At the brink of burnout, nurse Lisa decides to shake up her routine and accept an invitation from her ex-boyfriend for a vacation in Saint Martin. What begins as a relaxing getaway soon spirals into an unexpected adventure, filled with twists and long-buried secrets. The story blends romance and suspense, where desire and mystery lead Lisa on a path of self-discovery. From the glamorous island of St. Barts to the stunning Magdalene Islands, Lisa’s journey becomes increasingly complicated as a dangerous mystery threatens to unravel her life.

💭While the premise of a weekend getaway with exes might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it certainly adds a provocative layer to the plot. While I’m all for sexual freedom, Lisa’s actions sometimes felt more like an escape from her deeper issues rather than a solution. The mystery element kept me intrigued, and I found myself wishing there had been more of that to balance out the spicy scenes. As a Canadian reader, I particularly appreciated the historical references and vivid descriptions. Overall, if you’re looking for a book that mixes romance, spice, and mystery, Always to Be Found is worth a read.

Thank you @jsgazaille for the opportunity to read your book. I look forward to reading what’s next! 🏝️

Thank you to the author for the gifted ebook copy of your Novel "Always To Be Found". All opinions are my own.

After seven years together, Lisa and Mark open their relationship for one reckless weekend. Burned out from work and craving escape, Lisa falls effortlessly back under her ex Tony’s spell during a getaway meant to mean nothing. But desire quickly turns dangerous as secrets surface, situations she never imagined herself in and deception creeps in from those she never suspected. Always to Be Found is a popprovocative thriller where trust unravels faster than control.

Book Review (spoilers below):

Trust no one… especially the people closest to you. Always to Be Found kept my attention from start to finish. Lisa goes through a wild few months and ends up tangled in a situation she never asked for—with people she never imagined could hurt her the way they did.

Of all the betrayals, Claudia’s hit the hardest, followed closely by Tony. Lisa always knew Tony was capable of lies and deceit, but Claudia? That one stung.

The twists kept coming, and this story definitely takes you for a ride. There’s suspense, a bit of spice (one major scene that’s easy to skim if that’s not your thing—I get secondhand embarrassment with super spicy scenes 😂), and layered character connections that made everything more intense.

This is J.S. Gazaille’s debut novel, and I absolutely recommend checking it out.

I want to start off by saying that I received a complementary ebook. In return for my honest thoughts and review. Now I didn’t know to much about going into this book. Only that it has some spice in this book. And I was here for the spice. I haven’t read anything from this author. I do know this is the author debut novel. This is author will be been my new auto buys. I love the world and the characters this author created.
I really enjoyed this book and had some questions for our FMC Lisa. Now I do think Mark did give Lisa test and didn’t think that she would actually follow through.
How can Mark suggest that to go see their exes. I would never. I have to say that this book is definitely a page turner for me. Yes this book did take a me a little longer to finish. I didn’t want to rush through this book. Oh and let’s not forget the spice in this book.
Now I was super surprised about the thriller and the freaking betrayal that Lisa went through. Lisa had to deal with a lot of unexpected things. I love that the author touched on somethings in this book. I don’t want to spoil this book. I do highly recommend this read.

Thank you J.S. Gazaille for a copy of your book!

I have to say, I didn’t know what to expect from this book from the start and that held true throughout the entire book! Lisa, the FMC, faced a wide amount of tests, betrayal and decision making throughout this entire story. Definitely not sure that her decision making was always top quality but oh well (lol).

Being Canadian and having this book based in parts of Canada was super fun to read and I appreciate the appropriate description of the places mentioned throughout the book!

The final betrayal and twist while a bit predictable based on a line I caught in the middle of the book was still super intense to read. I originally was expecting to come in another way and I’m glad the author decided to go the route he did.

Personally, I struggle with longer chapters. And I did struggle a bit with the length of some of these, as someone to needs to start and end on a new chapter each time I pick up my book some chapters were a bit long for me.

Overall, for a debut novel, I did enjoy this! Something a little out of my usual read that was fun and kept me interested. I look forward to seeing other publishings by this author!

This book has some really good twists and storyline but I do have mixed feelings about Lisa! Supposedly in a happy relationship for seven years with Mark, he gives her an ultimatum of sorts, meet up with your ex for a weekend to see if we made the right choice. Exes from both sides got in touch to meet up and Lisa went along with it.

Meeting up with her ex Tony was more than she bargained for, it opened up a mystery that needed solving, twists and turns, secrets uncovered and a real page turning, entertaining book.

I liked the investigating side of this book, clever writing keeps you guessing and would recommend. I loved the ending and glad it ended like it did!

I’ve been in romance and fantasy central lately so I was excited to start something a little different

At the edge of burnout, Lisa decides to shake up her life and accept an invitation from her passionate ex-boyfriend for a holiday in Saint Martin. The trip turns out to be more than Lisa bargained for as she embarks on a thrilling journey where many deep-rooted secrets are uncovered

I felt like this book can’t really fit into a specific genre but was very entertaining. I felt like there was almost a pinch of every genre in here and a cross between romance and thriller

It took me a second to get into the third person writing style but it did grow on me

I loved that there was so many twists and turns. I predicted some of the outcomes but still enjoyed the way they unfolded. I felt myself questioning multiple characters and their motives throughout. I honestly can say no one felt completely out of question- even the main character. The last quarter of the book definitely exploded with multiple twists

I enjoyed the emotional side of this book. There was a lot the main character went through & It added richness, depth and extra element that sometimes are missed in these kinds of books.

I found the descriptive imagery in the writing made me feel like I was along side the main character on this journey. I loved that it was set partly in Canada & that the author explored some history and facts 🇨🇦

The chapters were a bit longer than I’m used to BUT they were broken up a little so I didn’t end up minding this in the end

Overall this was a very solid debut novel for this author and I can’t wait to read more by them

Through her self discovering journey, the main character will make you reflect on relationships, love, trust and family. It’s a fun, intriguing and touching story. And beware, it will make you want to travel to the islands! I highly recommend this book!

This was a great read, an easy read but one that did not disappoint. A feel good book, a journey of self discovery and hope. Something I could relate to.

A well written story, where you could picture yourself on the beach, but a story with a twist

Look forward to reading something else by JS Gazelle.
