It’s a lie. Everything I’ve ever told him is a lie. The biggest one of them all is the one I tell myself when I think of him. We can’t be together. I know that. He even says it, though in more colorful ways, of course. But my company doesn’t care about feelings, just finishing the job. Find Candy, destroy everyone who gets in the way, and get out. That’s all this is, a job. Nothing more. It can’t be. No matter what my heart begs for.
CASPER—
Trust is something I build from. My military career, being part of the brotherhood, it all started from trust. I walked away from the solider life once that trust was broken. The club has given me no reason to do the same, only showing me ways to lead it. Now that I’m in charge, I want to build on that foundation, but how can I preach it when I’ve had the wool pulled over my eyes from the start? When I brought the enemy behind the front lines and left us vulnerable?
I thought she was one thing but found out she isn’t. I should walk away, but a debt is owed, and I must pay for it. It’s either me or another brother, and I’m not going to let her trick anyone else. Fool me once, but not someone I care about.
The job is work together and find someone. Easy. Nothing to it. The cover story is that we’re a couple, one active in the BDSM lifestyle. Hard isn’t the right word, but when I see her in her first outfit, it’s the only thing that comes to mind. And they booked us a room with one bed.
This might have started out as paying off the club’s debt, but things are about to get more complicated. Because if I’m not careful, I’m going to want to find a reason to work and play together again
Trigger This book contains swearing, violence, and scenes that some readers may find uncomfortable. And lots of fun times between the sheets.
After traveling all over the world as a child, S.J. Rowe has found a home in the southwest with her husband. She continues to visit exotic destinations around the world with her best friends, and when she is home, she splits her time between watching baseball and singing in the car. To unwind, she finds herself enjoying a good cup of coffee while curled up watching Star Wars.
I like this series, but this one really dragged for me. I normally can read them in one sitting, but it took me 3 days to get through this one, kept putting it down to read something else.
I found the start to be confusing, when all of a sudden the Crazy 8's showed up and all of a sudden there were all these names on the page, flying left and right, it didn't help that they were mostly male names and I knew these were woman, it made it hard for me to connect the people.
The rest of the book was boring to me, didn't get the connection between Billy and Casper, then the whole BDSM club with connection to a sister chapter, that seemed off. Law was so certain about the different Presidents, it seems odd that this could have gotten by him and yes I know the "real" president wasn't part of it, but how can you be that clueless about your own club.
By the end of this one, I was just glad to be done with the book.

This is the seventh book this phenomenal series and this is Casper and Billie's story. This is a well written action packed, emotionally charged story, with found family, friendships, heartbreak, twists and turns, loyalty, danger, suspense, intrigue, secrets, tension, humour, witty banter, challenges, determination, acceptance, loss, undeniable chemistry, and love, which all leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and captivating addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I'm happy that we got to know more about 'Wendi', aka Billy, in this one after meeting her in the last book. Casper is a good guy and doing his best as the new president and suddenly a whole bunch of stuff is going down and secret identities are being revealed, whew.
There were a couple parts that I thought didn't fit well into the story. Part of Billy's past that was revealed felt like it didn't have much purpose besides making Casper take care of her I guess. Also, there seemed to be a connection with Casper's brother possibly, but then it went nowhere and seemed random.
Still an entertaining read and I'm ready for Domino!

REVIEW: Casper is the seventh book in the Hounds of the Reaper MC series that tells the story of Casper, the newly appointed President, and Billy or as she is initially known by the MC as Wendi the Vet that saved Domino's life. Their story hits off with a bang when it is discovered by the MC that Wendi and her sister Penny, who is called Jack, are actually are members of the group called the Crazy Eights which has helped them in the past though had been very mysterious the whole time. It was such a crazy and intense moment when Casper finds out that the person he thought was Wendi and her sister Penny are actually members of the Crazy Eight that are known as Billy and Jack. Billy and her sister Jack are there to find their missing member Candy which the MC has also been looking for but now they need to work closely together to find her after Intel has shown that she will be auctioned off at an exclusive BDSM Club.
The moment that Casper and Billy start to tell each other about their pasts is when everything starts to change for them on a personal level that leads to them falling in love. It was fun to read about all the crazy things that Billy and her sister have gone through to help people though it was emotional on the personal trauma that Billy had with the lose of her baby Blue who I think was Casper's younger brother's child from the info they shared. The moment that Jack pops up on the laptop screen was exciting which only got better with her monologue that ends with a rocket being launched into the room. When Casper gifts Billy her property leather kut was an emotional moment that showed that they are both in love. SJ Rowe delivered an action packed love story between Billy and Casper that had me rooting for the HEA and has me anxiously waiting for book 8.
Casper is the new Prez of the mother chapter of Hounds of the Reaper and the mysterious vet who’s been on his mind for a few months has finally been outed as someone else.
He’s beyond angry with the deception, before he can get his head round this new information the club learns that the Crazy Eights are finally calling in their favour. It’s an explosive journey for Casper and his vet of the many names. The big question is will they walk away from each other or will they take a chance.
I was a little disappointed at the humongous double standards from Casper and the other men of the MC. I probably shouldn’t have been because it was keeping true to their characters. Suffice to say that Casper doesn’t handle it well when he’s on the pointy end of the “club business” mantra that the MC practices with anyone who’s not a patched in member. The phrase isn’t actually used as such but the sentiment is still the same.
The overarching plot is full on in this book and I expect it’s only going to increase.
Casper and Wendi’s action packed romance unites a former military sniper/newly crowned President of the Hounds MC and a cunning undercover operator who has been hiding in plain sight right under the club’s nose. One of the things I love most about this series are the ah-ha moments when the author drops revelatory nuggets into her mastery of developing a story within a story. Wendi first came to light in book 4 in the series and her backstory and the author’s ability to drop nuggets along the way just blows my mind. I’m actually taking notes on the bigger picture for the enjoyment of future books in the series. Having just discovered this author it’s been a joy to enter her world and a bummer that I’ll actually have to wait in anticipation while she spins her magic. What starts as an unlikely pairing of dominant, distrustful personalities leads to a compelling revelation of Wendi’s tumultuous past, the enormity of the presidency that Casper is unsure he can live up to, and an undeniable sexual connection that can’t be denied. Just buckle up and enjoy the ride!
Talk about taking this series in a different direction. It definitely was not like the others with the undercover work and such. I'm still not sure how I feel about it to be honest. The only thing I'm sure about is that I hate a third act break up was added. I read this series because it didn't have them, so for it to be in this book was a bit of a disappointment. I'm really hoping that's not the case in future books.
Also, keeping the news about Law secret and the way Casper broke it was BS.
I’m so sorry that this is such a low rating…. I really wanted to enjoy this installment like I’ve loved all the others. But between the editing errors, the misuse of words, and the sheer implausibility of the entire story, I was really disappointed. This felt like a heavy handed and haphazard attempt to wrap up all the loose ends and various plot lines from previous books. It was so divergent from what I’ve come to love and expect from this series that half way through I literally asked myself if Rowe had someone else write the book under their name.
This whole series has been amazing!!! I devour them. I love the depth of Billy’s character. And I can’t wait to see how her past plays in going forward. Was Casper by her side we are in for a ride. I love that all the books tied together, even though the couples are different. You can read them as standalone, but it’s such a great storyline you’ll want to read them in order.
Things are moving fast in the mother mc and Casper is now in the driving seat. Add in c8 and operatives now identified under their nose another enemy is identified. Seems like a crossover and the brothers of the mafia princess name an appearance too. Lots of action and Casper and wendi travel down the is she or is she not old lady material. Enjoyed the book and pleased ruby has the truth given to her.
Wow! Finally find out about the vet and her sister. (Spoilers ahead) They are crazy 8 which basically is a whole gang of badass females. We have a bunch of questions answered but now we have even more questions. 😱 The hounds are getting loaded with badass old ladies so I’m sure that’s gonna be big when the final showdown comes.
An excellent read. I absolutely loved Casper and Billie’s story ❤️❤️❤️ The Hounds of the Reaper MC is a must read series, fell in love with all the characters. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
We finally get answers from C8! I have been waiting for the Casper book since his appearance in Chains. We get to see inside of him a little more but still come to the end with questions. I can't wait to see what else is revealed in book 8.
I really cannot get into this book. As with the other books, its long and tortuous for no reason. Takes too long to get to the meat of the problem. But hey, Casper and Wendi do find their HEA.
I think so far this one is the best. Casper was a great character! And Billy had so many layers. Part of the story had me crying, but it was so good. It all came together at the end!!
The series just gets better with each brother that gets his own book. Casper did not disappoint. He and Billy have great chemistry. Can’t wait for more!!
