Beyond Head Knowledge: Knowing Christ Who Satisfies Our Hearts

Rate this book
Do you desire close fellowship with God but don’t sense His presence?
Have you ever questioned the reality of the Christian faith, wondering why you don’t have the joy and peace promised in Scripture? As the daughter of a pastor and saved since age four, Naomi longs to follow God, but He seems distant and far away. Though she practices the disciplines of the Christian faith—Bible reading, prayer, and Scripture memory—these do not satisfy her thirst to know God.
Beyond Head Knowledge is the true story of a young woman grasping the promise of Jeremiah 29:13–14, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart,” and the discoveries of her heart she made along the way.
To seek. To find. To know God.

*I received a free copy of this book for an honest review from a giveaway*

Before reading the book I was a little worried about the book leaning toward an "everything is love and fluffy bunnies" approach while at the same time hoping for something of great depth and truth. I am glad to say that I think this book was really impressive how it approached several topics. The book didn't throw away head knowledge but simply worked to show how it should be paired with the heart knowledge. Do you TRULY believe the truth in the scriptures? Do you quote verses to help a friend in need but at the same time find yourself unable to cling to those same truths? That's just one of the types of situations discussed. While I think the book IS supposed to be a comfort, it DOES also make you think and really dig deep down to think about what you TRULY believe and what you need to be in prayer about. Definitely worth the read!

There are some good insights here. But it was hard to follow and seemed overly lengthy. The premise of the book that head knowledge is not enough is true. There should be a personal dimension to our faith. However, it is only in knowing His Word can we ever know the truth and turn in faith to it. God has reveal every thing about Himself in the Bible. So I wasn't sure what the author means to tell us.

This book is WELL written, to the point that I could understand the Bible I have a had time understanding the Bible, religion, etc. When I read this book, Naomi put it into words that I can relate to. I understood a lot because I am going through a lot of what she is talking about in this book so it helped me to understand what I am going through.

This is a Goodreads win review. This is a very good book for those who not know how to sense God's presence. I have not had that issue because I feel the Lord is always with me and watching over me, but some people do suffer with this problem.

Naomi Fata in her personal account titled "beyond Head Knowledge ... knowing Christ who satisfies our hearts" give the reader thoughts about his relationship with God by questions after each chapter. The book is good for new Christians, as well as long-time Christians.

This is a book for anyone who lives in a messy world. Sometimes our head becomes disconnected from our heart, and our faith becomes routine. Get a reality check, and be reminded of the God who loves us intimately. -Anna

Naomi Fata opens up an honest, heart-to-heart conversation in her new book "Beyond Head Knowledge" about apathy in the Christian life. Using practical yet commonly unsought suggestions, Beyond Head Knowledge will help readers live and lead enthusiastic, passionate lives for Jesus Christ. I recommend that Christians who have felt apathetic towards any religious practice or who feel weighed down read this book. May this book enrich your life and allow the cause of Christ to be carried out with diligence! - Anthony

In wanting to know God more deeply, I was drawn to Naomi's book that so lovingly led me to conviction where I needed to repent and learn to let God fully into every aspect of my life. Naomi touches on real issues that need to be answered with scripture and points us rightly to the One and Only who can satisfy our hearts, the Lord most high.

In reading this book I felt like I was reading a journal of my own journey of faith. In warm and personal language, Naomi speaks of her transition from head knowledge about God to heart knowledge of God. I appreciated her vulnerability and intentional purpose in directing the reader back to God Himself rather than formulas for personal transformation. There is just so much I identify with about her struggle to feel anything about God or faith even as she grew in her knowledge of the Bible. This book needs to be in the hands of both new and mature believers. So many walk this same journey, missing the abundant life to found in surrender to God and complete reliance on His Spirit. What a tragedy! The world needs to see Christians who know God in personal, deep intimacy. This is what Jesus died for. It is what He lives for right now as He calls us to abandon our lives to embrace His gospel. It’s a life or death matter as we seek to see God’s kingdom filled with people, each with a precious story and a transformed life! Thank you, Naomi, for sharing your story with us and challenging us to trade dull, lifeless, religious routine for a vibrant, life-giving walk with the Spirit of God every day. Run, don’t walk to get a copy of this book!
