Enough is enough! The Church of Rubanov has violated Mukohda’s privacy one time too many—on top of their habit of trafficking their own people and subjugating the non-human races—and Demiurge, the God of All Creation, has finally decided that something must be done about them. What, specifically? Why, sending Mukohda and his familiars over to ruin their day in the most explosive manner possible, of course!
Bringing down a dictatorial, human-supremacist theocracy isn’t the only item on Mukohda’s itinerary, though. He also has shopping to do, and conveniently enough, the one town where he stands any chance of replacing his irreparably damaged magic stove happens to be just a short hop away from the Holy Kingdom of Rubanov’s capital. However, that may not be the last stop on their trip if his familiars have anything to say about it…
Finally a new entry, and finally the Rubanov empire is taken down, though I was hoping for more death and destruction. Also, Mukhouda finally gets a new magic stove, and our gang meets the members of Ark and ventures into a new, undiscovered dungeon. I always enjoy their dungeon dives and am sad that I will have to wait a long time for the next entry to read up on how it goes.
And at the very least, we know that Mukhouda is still very much a pushover, and his familiars are still just as selfish and demanding, but Mukhouda is starting to learn how to reign them in, even just a little.
OF COURSE subjugation of an entire religious order would be barely an appetizer, and nothing more than a light post-meal exercise. it's just that kind of story. although it was charming to see mukohda rush off to help when he thought his familiars were in danger. as much as he moans and whines about them, they are all a team and he will do more than just cook the tastiest food they've ever eaten for them. the adventuring party ark joins the fray and forms an alliance with mukohda and his to explore an unexplored dungeon. while i do miss iron will from the first volume, would love to have them meet mukohda again and be left speechless, it makes sense that we're partying up with higher ranked party to REALLY drive home the absolute absurd power levels mukohda is leashed to. feodora x mukohda endgame? it was nice touch that the aftermath of the holy empire subjugation was presented through the perspective of random, nameless citizen, with mukohda nor his familiars even being mentioned. really emphasises the fact that this part of the story isn't about him or his familiars but in fact the citizens of rubanov, the cruelties they've faced and what the future holds for them. truly the most earnest, grounded and emotional portion of the entire series, so far.
Am really loving these adventures! The food is absolutely amazing! It just sounds so good, it’s making me really want to try these foods one day! I am of Mexican descendant but I have tried Japanese food. I know some is not authentic but has come close enough. I do love the blends and seasonings Japan uses in most of its dishes, although some do have me questioning but I have always said before ruling out a dish I first try it out. I CANNOT wait for volume 15!!!!!!!!
Also am hoping the author doesn’t pair Feodora and the main character together. Am sorry I just really don’t like her. I really hope not to see more of her after this adventure.
I’m loving Gon and Sui!!!!! They are just the best! I love Dora and Fel but something about Gon and Sui I can’t help but admire!
I'm still amazed how much Mokouda and his familiars have help with their huntting. Donating money to the churches and the orphanages. But the biggest is destroying the fake church that uses its religion to harass and kill all nonhuman creatures. All of Mokouda's familiars have different personalities but the same goal to hunt. I can't wait to see when a potential wife candidate shows up.
Mukhoda and the gang head out to take down the head temple of the religious order that's been harassing them, and have some fun with side quests on their way back! Then he meets up with old friends for a dive into an unexplored dungeon, so all in all a very action packed volume with our favorite solitary chef!
