Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill (Light Novel) #15

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill: Volume 15

Rate this book
Everything seems to be going so well for Mukohda in the wake of the Church of Rubanov incident. Not only has he managed to buy the magic stove of his dreams, he’s also stumbled into a surprise reunion with some old friends: the adventuring party Ark! The only thing that could possibly ruin the trip would be if, say, Fel revealed the location of a nearby, almost-untouched dungeon, and the members of Ark decided that they wanted to come along for the ride. But there’s no way that could happen, right?

Oh. Oh no.

And just like that, Mukohda’s off on another dungeon-crawling adventure that he’d really rather have no part in! Worse still, the thing about unexplored dungeons is that you never know what you'll find in them…and the discoveries awaiting the party in this one will blow any ideas they had about what a dungeon is supposed to be clear out of the water!

It's always fun to revisit this world, but i flip flop on how i feel about it some times, and it so happens this time round Mukhouda and his familiars came across as kinda annoying to me. Still, the adventures were fun, and the situations and banter are always tinged with humor. Still not bored of this series yet, but then again I just might, if it takes eons for the next book to come out again. There's only that many times one can reread this series.

These novels aren't novels anymore. They are made as advertisement for Japanese food and product. Why show us how a party work together without making your MC make any efforts to participate in hunting. Would it kill you to teach this useless MC how to defend himself and stop fearing monsters. At this point, I think Mukohda needs b@lls not just a backbone.

the addition of the adventuring party ark to the main cast for this volume really was a great move. this allowed readers to get a baseline on how a normal resident of this world is supposed to react to the kinds of monsters and rewards mukohda sees on the reg. since mukohda is a. and otherworlder and b. really only travelled with his familiars and not regular people, his, and thereby the reader's, perspective on how things work is severely skewed.
furthermore, the addition of ark to the main cast only goes to demonstrate just how much of a coward mukohda is. while ark might pass out on the spot at the sight of monsters only ever told of in fairy tales, they do fight against more normal monsters with prudence and determination, while mukohda is off to the side trembling like a leaf in a storm.
it's understandable that one of mukohda's main character trait is that he's timid. by all means, he's no brave warrior and no one is asking him to be one. but it's been 15 volumes and his cowardly act every time a monster comes into the scene has become tired and a total drag. he's got legendary AND godly defenses, so why do his legs start shaking every time he sees a monster that's not an a rank? i think it's time we finally saw some growth.

I love it when Mukohda face the usual alone 'life death' situation with companions. A whole group of adventurers. LOL.. he usually face it alone while his familiar trashed their target. Funny even though, they say he's so weak. But he didn't faint and lose consciousness like the adventurers. And him stashing huge ass leviathan bigger than the island inside his item box. I remember them discussing Leviathan several books before.
They are already raising the flag before. Is it Johan?
Johan challenging the familiars in this bookl
I won't be surprised if Johan gonna be having the surprise of his life after Mukohda and the happy gluttons came back from capital. I feel sorry for Willem though. for getting caught along. He fainted anyway early in the journey. I hope his hair stays healthy.

I do love this series. It’s certainly grown on me.

A light, fun, low stakes, ongoing series!

While I do have my problems with the series, it is one that I actively look forward to reading whenever the next volume releases.

Also in exciting news, season 2 of the anime has been green lit!

A solid B-grade, turn off your brain & read, series.

Amazing. I enjoyed how the familiars are being mischievous about their Battle hunger. Mokouda sure has it hard with them. I honestly can’t wait for the next volumes. So much adventure in this volume. I honestly can’t believe he is going to meet the king. Can’t wait to read how these events will unfold.

I like the sea theme. Japanese media love beach days as a trope. This was a fun one. I think Mukouda is the right person to wield such power. He just wants to eat good food, reminds me of how the ring tempted Samwise in return of the king.

Getting old

This series has turned into a story about 4 familiars and their human slave that they lead around by the nose. And it's getting old.

3.5 Stars:Final book for now....I LOVED it... until I encountered the CONS.

This one starts on the second floor of the dungeon. They encounter some fun monsters. When they are done, they go back home and get into all that was wrong with this volume, see cons.

Pros: Dungeon!, LOVED the Familiars little side adventure, which shows that Mukoda is not even necessary. Pirates & Undead, YES!

Cons: Mukoda's sick overprotectiveness towards Sui, Mukoda's oral diarrhea, Mukoda's petty doormat behavior, Mukoda's overreacting to EVERYTHING! (this is volume15, get over it dude!), Mukoda's constant internal monologues (If you need to say something SAY IT!) Stupid slaves constantly complaining about all that Mukoda gives them, Willem nasty manners (no need to be rude and yell, calm down dude, again, this is book 15!), ALL the royalty caste society BS. Royalty comes from people who use others and massacre many more to obtain power. I'm not sure about the fixation with royalty/presidential BS. All of them are there to bleed the middle/working class. Most of them are completely inept.

I know for a fact I will HATE the next book if it has to do with the capital and all the BS about royalty and "high" class society.....puke! They are still stupid human beings, only with money to cover or pay for silence to cover up their stupidity! However, I'm looking forward their adventures once they start using the teleportation stones, if they ever do! Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!

Great read. Too bad it's so short. Can't wait for the next issue!!!!

The story really is kicking up a notch. It's exciting leaving you at the edge of your seat yet always toned down with the slapstick humor.
