A night of passion between two strangers turns sour when one of them becomes the other's boss...

Savannah Davies doesn’t do one-night stands. Not in her real life, and definitely not on vacation. But there’s an exception to every rule, and Liam O’Rourke is that exception. After she saves his laptop from a wine spill, he spends the night thanking her in the most carnal of ways. A passion hot enough to burn the world sparks between them, consuming them whole, promising a future that isn’t possible. Because when Liam has to choose between his job and her, he stands her up.

She doesn’t expect to see him again.

Especially not at her company picnic.

Stealing her promotion.

Becoming her new boss.

Where once they brought out the best in each other, now all they see is the worst. Lust turns to hate as they fight to see who comes out on top, finally crashing together in a violent collision that changes everything. It’s not supposed to mean anything. They aren’t supposed to care. To want more. But they can’t deny they’re…

"Why! Why do I want you? I hate you. You stole my job! I should burn your world to the ground, but instead, I'm here! I'm here because all I can think about is you. I don't want to want you, but I do. I want you so bad I can't think straight. So no, don't stop. you wanna use me? Do it. Use me. Fuck me.

👠💻❤️‍🔥

So many highlighted quotes... but I wanted to choose one that (I think) gives a bit of a peak behind the curtain as to what Twisted in You entails. Usually, I would give my own brief synopsis, but I think the one Bre wrote really sums up what Savannah and Liam's story is about - in short a hate-to-love romance with a lot of hot sometimes a lil fucked up but I'm very much okay with it sex along the way.

Importantly, however, it's not filler sex, if you know what I mean. Despite the smut to "traditional plot" ratio leaning heavily in the favour of the former, each sex scene is essentially a vessel for character and relationship development (&/or regression depending on the scene), in the only way that these two characters can express it given their current state of mind.

Me personally? I ate every last bit of it up. While having a good idea as to what I was walking into, this went above and beyond my wildest expectations, in the best way possible. I'm just as obsessed with continuing these characters story as they are with each other, and I can't wait to see how their relationship continues to bend, twist, & maybe break, over the rest of the trilogy.

"What started out as passion in Oregon had turned into something dark and ugly, unpredictable and toxic. An addiction. Obsession.

Now, if the quotes or synopsis didn't give it away... the beginnings of Savannah and Liam's relationship is not healthy. This book explores a lot of darker themes (which is why we love fiction)!!! Bre provides a list of content warnings both in the intro of the book but also on her website. In the words of Bre, "always put yourself first!". I strongly recommend reading the CWs first before deciding whether or not you want to read this book 🫶🏻.

I do always like to be upfront about any biases I may hold (thanks to my day-to-day researcher mentality leaking into my book review brain), so I will say I have been reading Bre's works for years now, and haven't found one I haven't loved, so much so that I hand bound one of her favourite fics of mine. The running joke when I sent her a copy (a small token of my never ending love & praise for her writing) was that "I published her first", and now to see Twisted in You in this format, and with my hands itching to buy the physical copies (both the discreet and non discreet covers), makes me genuinely so happy for her. So, as you can imagine, when I got to the end of Twisted in You, feeling raw and craving more, I was definitely taken aback when I saw my name in the Acknowledgements... so much so I started crying at 1 in the morning 😘✌🏻. I feel equally unworthy, as well as so privileged to be able to continue to come along on her writing journey, no matter the format. All this to say that I knew going into this book I was going to love it, but it genuinely blew beyond my expectations. Bre, get out of my search history!!!!!

If you make the personal decision to read Twisted in You, I truly hope you love it as much as I do!

80% smut and 20% plot when I think about it. But at the same time, it doesn’t feel like it’s all smut either. Beautifully written. A page-turner for sure. Had a hard time going to bed every night when I was reading this and lost some sleep over it. I just had to read the next page… and the next one… and one more! It was a truly twisted book! In the best and darkest way possible. Thank you for allowing me to read this ARC.

1st off let me say that this book is in 3rd person, which is usually NOT my thing at all. I will DNF so fast because of that but from the very 1st chapter…I was hooked! I kept going because it was right of the bat intriguing and spicy! Like sooooo spicy you guys, Liam is a book bf for sure! I could only read a couple chapter before putting it down and needing break Hahahha
But with all that said, the plot was good too! It flowed really well and the office romance was new to me but I loved it! Truly amazing work. Hands down, LOVED this book!.

This is the first book in The Four Walls trilogy. Liam and Savannah’s story was amazing. I could not stop reading. The plot is so well written and filled with drama. The spice is hot as heck. I can’t wait to read the next book to see what happens next in their journey.

Very steamy book but plot wise it's a 3/5. The same scenes keep repeating and we were only at 40% of the book. You can skip to like 70% and it's still the same conflict between the main couple.

Loved every dark and twisted word of this book!

Yes, this is dark. Yes, there are things in this book that for some may go beyond dubious. Trigger warnings are there for a reason. Read them. Believe them. If you have no triggers, then just dive right in. Trust me, it’s well worth the wild ride!

As I was reading this book my initial feelings for this couple were toxic, obsessive, emotional roller coaster and all-consuming chaos. But the more I read, the more I realized Liam and Savannah were both damaged souls that through their own chaotic havoc could heal each other.

On the outside, Savannah is strong and fierce. She has a job and career she loves. She has career goals that are within her grasp and there is nothing that will stop her from obtaining them. But on the inside, she has scars based on her emotional youth. From her backstory you learn she fears never being enough. She can’t rely on anyone but herself. She soon realizes she needs Liam more than she needs air to breathe. In her head she knows she’s losing a part of herself, but she can’t make herself quit him. And even though she knows this relationship won’t work, can’t last – she throws herself into the chaos that is their relationship.

Liam, my beautiful, tortured Liam – when you look up dominate alpha male in the dictionary there will be a picture of Liam. He doesn’t give off touch her and die vibes – he screams them from the mountain tops and wears that banner like a badge of honor. But at the same time there is a vulnerable side to him that only Savannah brings out in him, and it scares him. He doesn’t let anyone close to him for fear they will see the real Liam. His scars are not only emotional but physical. He is over-the-top obsessed with Savannah. He wants to keep her close and the thought of him losing her is completely unacceptable.

I can’t say enough good things about this book or the author. I loved the characters, and the spice was top-notch. Liam didn’t have a dirty mouth – it was down-right filthy, and I gobbled up every word! I was drawn in from the first page and didn’t want this story to end. This book is written in third person POV. For me, sometimes it's hard to get into a book written that way. But Bre's writing was so good, it worked perfectly. Actually, I'm glad it was written this way. I felt every emotion, every bit of angst, every look, smile and touch. For me, a great book is one that makes me feel something long after I finish the last page. And this is that type of book for me. This is definitely a book I would read again and again.

This book is the first of a trilogy and while it doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, we leave Liam and Savannah happy for now. I am so invested in this couple and can’t wait to see what happens next!

Woooooooo------is it hot in here? First part sizzle then major bratty behavior and whining.

As always, communication is the key. It is the new aloe for soothing aches.

Isn't it better to face someone and find out who they are rather than running away and making assumptions? So frustrating. I know this is the prompt to push the story into the enemies-to-lovers trope but it still irritates me. Plus the host/hostess at the restaurant should have asked better leading questions. The MFC is a runner. Each time she ran or ignored actual info to keep complaining, I had to put the book down and breathe through my annoyance. He caused me to take some deep breaths also (not talking about the steamy scenes).

There were a few things he could have done not to play her game but I almost think ignoring her would have been better after sending screenshots of his texts to her then maybe she would have eventually listened. Of course the worse she gets, the worse he gets. Lock them in and make them actually talk. Get this self-inflicted snake-hit show on the road—spiraling relationship of push-pull.

Their chemistry is great but.....ARGH....

The book is well-written. The characters keep pissing me off. Book 2 in future. It is starting to get to the point where they are beginning to communicate!.

If I didn't love them so I wouldn't have been so irritated. Can't wait for them to begin healing and talking.

They both were irritating me because I know they will be so good for each other and I want to build towards that future - even if we have to take some twisted turns while they each deal with childhood trauma.

I’m a solid 50/50 on Twisted in You. I thought this was a great debut from the author, Bre Sylva, and that she is an excellent author. I liked Liam and Savannah together, to an extent. They were so perfect together, but so, so toxic. If you are even remotely, minutely triggered by domestic violence, stay away. I’m all for exploring darker themes, including dubcon/cnc, but I felt like the two MCs tripped over the line into abusive territory. One scene in particular, where Savannah was begging for Liam when she didn’t actually want the pain, broke my heart. When they couldn’t physically stop themselves from hurting one another, their justifications felt a lot like something an abuser would use to justify themselves. The MCs were equally abusive to each other, which is a nice (?) change of pace from a lot of dark romances, when it’s usually the MMC doing the stalking/obsessing/primal play/etc. I did love when Savannah and Liam had sweet moments between them, especially when Liam took on the caretaker role. I think more of that would have balanced out the dark nicely.

This book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, per se, but does have a HFN ending. I do not, and I cannot stress this enough, see how this could be a trilogy. No offense to the author, because I really do think she’s amazing with her debut, but I almost couldn’t wait for this book to be over. It was so. long. I know we don’t have full closure, but I don’t think I’d read another book about Savannah and Liam. I would, however, read another book by the author because I thought she wrote phenomenally.

This book started out great! I loved the characters and the scenes. I truly enjoyed the enemies to lovers route the plot was taking. The spicy moments in the workplace while trying not to get caught, taunting each other, and trying to navigate the surprises that come up and create a true relationship.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t give this book 5 stars for the following things:

The book was giving enemies to lovers but towards the end it became more of back and forth toxic relationship.

The sex scenes became a bit repetitive, same sex but different settings.

I did had to skip a couple of pages as the book was getting repetitive with the hating each other then loving each other, then hate sex, then hating each other. It felt like filler chapters. You could skip to the end of the book and the same conflict would be playing out.

Prior to meeting Samantha, something happened to Liam that left a scar on his stomach. It is such a huge deal to him that he HATES when Samantha asks about it or touches it. This was released earlier in the book and as of Chapter 46 the reader still doesn’t have a clue what happened. During some of the hate sex scenes that happens, Samantha intentionally touches the scar, knowing how much it makes him mad.

Overall, this book seems more like a toxic love story than a dark romance. There are dark themes but the main characters are really toxic towards each other almost bordering abuse. I absolutely love reading dark romance but this book did a okay job at it.

I was given this book as an ARC, it came with trigger warnings lots, and warnings of lots of spice. Boy did it deliver, the emotional roller coaster Bre takes you on, with leave you just as breathless as the MC’s in this book from grabbing tissues, to becoming wet and sweaty in a good way, if your into dark romance, than this book won’t disappoint you. It’s a lovers to enemies to lovers, to so much more, both characters come from broken homes, with an absentee parent, one abused through the system, and has the emotional scars, and physical scars to prove it. They heal each other only to wreak each other, back to healing each other, when they finally accept what this relationship means to them, and decide to risk it all it works. Liam is a Dominate Alpha Male, with a touch her and die attitude, but at the same time his warped attitude when it comes to dealing with his feelings for Savanna, how he takes it to far in there game of cat and mouse, and how Savanna lets him, will set off the trigger warnings.

Trigger warnings:
Sexual abuse
Questionable consent
Child abuse written off page
Parental rejection
Degradation
Stalking
Possiveness

For two people who are at the top of their professional careers, Liam & Savannah do a valiant job at hiding their vulnerabilities and fears from everyone; except each other. Bre Sylva’s debut book brings you characters who are flawed, volatile and at times impulsive beyond reason. I loved these characters, and I hated them as individuals and as a couple. They frustrated me, they overwhelmed me and they made me think, reconsider what a relationship should look like from the outside looking in. But isn’t that the sign of a gifted writer? One who draws you in and makes you feel what her characters are feeling. One who makes you look at things from a different perspective. One who writes a story that’s so consuming, you don’t want to put it down? The icing on this decadent cake? She sets up several characters and scenarios that you hope to see more of in the next book in her Four Walls trilogy.

If you enjoy characters who take your emotions on a wild ride and descriptive scenes you’ll find yourself re-reading more than once; then I highly recommend Twisted in You.

If you want a book with more spice than plot, this book is for you!

Honestly I did have to skip a few pages throughout because it did feel a tad repetitive with the MMC's arguing - don't get me wrong, I love a good enemies to lovers story but I missed absolutely nothing that contributed overall by skipping a couple of spicy hate fueled scenes.

I was impressed by the writing style and how it improved as the story continued, however the first few chapters felt very choppy and didn't flow very well in some scenes, but this did change drastically by the end of the book.

This was still a fun little low-commitment read as there wasn't really much of a plot so I wasn't jumping at the bit to pick this up and read it in one sitting - which isn't a bad thing! Sometimes its nice to have something more breezy, and I'm excited to see how the story does progress in the trilogy!

Love, love, LOVE  this book!!!

Savannah and Liam's story is one of incredible connection and chemistry twisted with miscommunication and misunderstanding. They'll frustrate you, along with each other, as they confront their own demons, misteps taken with each other, and a passion that is all consuming. From sweet and tender moments to the very darkest parts of their needs, you'll be rooting for these two as they battle themselves and each other to find their happy ending.

Bre is an amazing writer and takes you on a breathtaking ride with these two. While I 1000% recommend this book please be advised of the author's warning that it is a dark romance -- there is lashing out in various ways and dubious consent on both sides, as Liam and Savannah struggle with their feelings for each other.

Bre is an amazing writer and old fans of her fanfic as well as new readers will definitely enjoy this book.

Personally, this book was not exactly the genre for me, so please read CW, however fans of dark spicy erotic romance will surely enjoy this book.

I was hoping to get a little more background on Liam but maybe that will come in the next books. I also was not a huge fan of the insta-lust, and the reason it turned to hate didn't really work for me. The darker, hurtful parts were not for me but again this is clearly stated and may be others' cup of tea.

For me personally I did not like the nickname of the character Jizzy, however Arrow fans will enjoy the Easter eggs of the character names! Always exciting to see fanfic authors be able to publish original works so congratulations to the author!

I was kindly provided with an ARC of this book.

Solid 4.5 stars for an awesome debut!

I am so excited to see this book getting published! Partly because Bre is a darling person with so much talent it blows my mind. And partly because this story started out amazing and has morphed into something that is somehow even more amazing. I'm not sure how she did it, to be honest.

Bre's words are so easy to read and that's in a "fall into them and get pulled into the daydream" sort of way. She pulls you along on the path and you find yourself turning page after page and before you know it, the story is done and you're wondering when you can get your next hit.

Liam and Savannah are like magnets. They push and pull and sometimes, as a reader, you almost get whiplash from how quickly they flip from one to the other. But it's not unbelievable, the flip is organic to who they are as people and where the story is taking them. These are not easy, simple characters. They are complicated and interesting and their motivations are so clear and precise. You can't help but root for both of them even when their purposes are in opposition.

Have I mentioned I love complex characters and interesting character arcs?

The fact that this is only book one in a series has me super intrigued too because even though I've read another iteration of this story, I legitimately cannot tell you where this story is going next. I'm as on the edge of my seat as anyone else, but I need these two to have their happily ever after.

Bre, congratulations on a job well done. And, if you're considering picking this book up, I hope you all love this story and these characters. Mind the content warnings; they are there for a reason. But if you chose to go on this journey, you have a treat before you.

The writing itself was great. The author did a great job on her debut novel! However there was repetition in the plot that was not needed. By the second hate sex because you took my job scene I knew this was going to be a theme I just didn't realize how big of a one. By the end of the book Savannah and Liam were in more of a toxic relationship than a dark romance one. While he had the dark romance vibes working for him at first by the end it was more toxic than dark romance. We also still don't know how he got the scars. The spice was spicy but also could get repetitive at times.

I liked that this book did not have a plot, I went for this book for the spice and I absolutely loved it it took me about three weeks to finish and it was far by one of the best enemies to lovers books I have read. And it happens to be one of my favourite tropes.

This is my first time reading her work the story is in 3rd person and it made the story descriptions paint a clear picture of what was going on. And let me tell you the spice was something else It had me feeling all the emotions Sav and Liam were going through.

Having read this I had bookmarked all of the spicy chapters.

Wow! What an amazing first book from Bre. This book sent me on a ride and I enjoyed every page! The characters are well-developed, with complex personalities that draw you into their world. The plot is filled with unexpected twists and turns, making it difficult to put the book down. Her writing style is engaging and vividly descriptive. While some parts felt slightly predictable, the overall experience was thrilling and enjoyable. If you're a fan of suspenseful romance with a touch of mystery, this book is definitely worth a read!

This entire book is one amazing chokehold. It’s absolute gold. The storyline progresses perfectly without a hitch in the spice. I couldn’t put this book down to save my life once I started it. I was kept on my toes throughout the entire thing. Liam and Savannah were perfect, fighting each other and themselvese. Savannah’s drive and Liam’s possessiveness were incredible. I will absolutely be reading this book again patiently waiting for the next one to publish. I have found a new favorite book.

There is a lot to like about this book. Yes, it is steamy, yes, there is a lot of tension, and yes, there was a compelling dynamic between the 2 leads. But, for me, this felt like Liam was a manipulator rather than a dominant and Savannah was a bit of a doormat and not a submissive. Not a cliffhanger, but a HFN. I'm not sure if this will translate into another 2 books to complete a trilogy.

This is a dark romance that pulls you in from the beginning and holds you captive until the end. The storyline is intriguing, suspenseful, and dramatic with lots of components unfolding in the scenarios. The characters are well developed and have steamy magnetic chemistry together. They work to overcome challenges and barriers in order to try to reach an outcome that is beneficial for both. I highly recommend this book.
