Will: Beckett Brothers Book 5: Part Two

Rate this book
The story continues in Part Two!

Will Beckett: Father, son, husband, brother, Army veteran, Special Ops genius, and friend. As well as, funny, laid back, loving, trustworthy, easygoing, gentle, caring, playful, and intuitive.

Widower.

One event changed Will’s entire being, his entire reality, and threw him onto a path that he had no idea how to maneuver. He became cold, angry, lost, hopeless, vengeful, and spiraled into a place so unrecognizable that he no longer knew himself anymore.

Ava Laine: Daughter, artist, friend, kind, beautiful, clever, sweet, reserved, cautious, creative, and always daydreaming of a magical world vividly brought to life in her mind.

Obsession.

One man, one chance encounter, one moment of violence, and Ava’s entire life was no longer her own. She was then controlled, contained, abused, scared, helpless, hopeless, and molded into a madman’s version of perfection.

Both of them were linked by a common enemy, a powerful threat, a helpless situation, and ultimately fate. Leaving them scrambling to piece their lives together, to understand a new reality, and to move on from the pain and torment that would forever alter their paths.

Paths that would cross for the first time and then splinter again.

Two people healing, overcoming, searching, wondering, fighting, growing, hesitant, and unsure of what the future will hold for them. One leaning on his family and learning to love himself again, while the other facing the unknown and intimidating world alone.

Their paths lead them toward one another again, in a much better and stronger way than before, but the journey won’t be any easier than it was before.

Only this time…it will be worth it.

This is the one. I have been reading D. Lynnette for a while now (if you know, you know) and this is the best. The build up of everything, getting to know characters over the last several books, it has all come together here and I am in love. From the first book in the series to this, her writing has grown. I laughed, cried, and fell in love with My Baby Will and Ava. They are perfect for each other and I am anxiously awaiting the conclusion.

ETA: I am not done. Everything about this couple gets my heart and just squeezes it! Ahh! We know they are in love long before either admits it to themselves. My Baby Will just cannot comprehend that it is happening and Miss Ava has nothing to compare it to, but we know. When they finally hug 🥹 When the finally dance 🥹 I did NOT expect it to go down the way it did when they FINALLY (AND I DO MEAN FINALLY, TWO BOOKS IN FOR ONE SMOOCH, LYN, YOU ARE CHALLENGING ME) smooch I did not think it would be My Baby Will who couldn't handle it. BUT it makes sense. People have been telling him this whole time he needs to watch out for himself but it is like he could do something about Ava's grief so that is what he focused on, not his own. Seeing her happy did heal him to a point but baby, you still got your own issues. I hope that his dorky ass is able to get it together quick. Also, Constance pissed me off once and now Rhett has about pissed me off so bad that I don't even want to be in the book with him. AS IF My Baby Will would do anything to hurt Ava in that way. AS IF. Where is Delaney cause somebody needs to give this mofo a reality check, and so quickly after she just gave ALL of the brothers a reality check. Put some respect on My Baby Will's name cause he would NEVER. NEVAAAAAAAAAA!

A continuation from Will Part 1…what happens after you get what you’ve always dreamed of? Once you’ve earned the freedom from the past? Once you’ve found the place you’re meant to be? How do you move forward in a world where every step forward is uncharted territory?

Questions, questions, and more questions plague Ava Laine and Will Beckett. For Ava, she is learning to reclaim her identity while navigating the world that could not be more unfamiliar to her. Basics of everyday life are new to her, not to mention the aftermath of what to do with Gabriel’s fortune, foundation, and legacy. It seems every time she makes progress there is something more to trip her up. Good thing she’s got someone on her side, someone who is starting to mean more and more to her with each new memory they make together.

For Will Beckett, he is continuing to make amends but finding benefits he didn’t imagine. For one who grew up way too fast, he’s learning to embrace the silliness and innocence that was lost too soon. For every moment he makes happen for Ava, he finds he may have needed to learn some important lessons too. But now, those moments are starting to mean more than he could have guessed.

For those who have followed the journey from the beginning, this is a great book of healing moments for two characters who have fought their way through levels of darkness many cannot imagine. We get to see them embrace that lightness and hope they’ve never had a chance to experience and it’s a heartwarming journey for all!

The Rise of a Book Boyfriend

As Part 2 of this story unfolds, we get an even deeper look at the story of Will and Ava and how they are healing and growing. The way we get to develop our crush on Will, as. Ava does, is nothing short of amazing and a testament to D Lynnette’s incredible story telling. This installment of The Shaw Creek Special Ops series also lets us see some of our favorite Becketts, Samuelsons, Perettis and Romanos, furthering our love and connection with these characters. Highly highly recommend this installment after diving into Will Part One :)

D Lynette does it again! Will part 2 is a perfect follow up to part one and the series as a whole. Will and Ava have the most complex backstories so it makes perfect sense for their story to need extra time to develop. In part one we learned how they both got torn down, in part two we see them start to build each other back up. It’s beautiful to see Ava blossom and to see Wills true personality. I can’t wait to see how their story continues!

Fantastic!

If you haven’t read this series then you should!! Seriously, what are you waiting for?

D. Lynette does a great job of transporting the reader into Shaw Creek where you’ll not only get hooked into the storyline but the characters as well! The place and the characters come to life and make you feel as if you were apart of their gang too.
