Firefighter Tripp Truett is falling without a net, tumbling headfirst into a whole new kind of relationship with his enigmatic paramedic best friend, Leander. What was only meant to be mutual relief from their high-stress jobs is quickly developing into something more, but with all the missed signals and crossed wires, can these two ever figure out that they're so much closer to the same page than they think?
Ride along as Tripp and Lee navigate the razor-thin ledge between rescue and ruin to find themselves, each other, and what it really means to burn. Their scorchingly hot exploration of *enthusiastically* consensual domination and submission is a surprisingly tender, adrenaline-laced, modern queer love story that pushes the boundaries between friendship, love, lust, and Tripp’s dawning realization that with Lee, the space beyond his comfort zone is the safest place he’ll ever be.
Fire & the Extended Edition brings high-octane heat, consensual power dynamic exploration, queer-centered Igbtq+ representation, and Level 5 Spice--without sacrificing captivating character development and a plot-driven narrative storyline. Competently written from all angles, Fire & Ice pulls back the curtain on two different subcultures and psyches with both technical accuracy and heart. Whether novice or expert to either emergency services or the BD.SM Community, this steamy workplace romance offers a fresh, front-line perspective, as well as an immersive, accessible read for everyone from the vaguely-curious rookie to the thirty-year vet.
With brand-new, display-worthy cover art and over fifty pages of additional content in the form of a postscript to the original that cleverly flips Lee and Trip's comfortable dynamic on its head, the extended edition is a can't-miss collectible to treasure.
Releasing alongside extended edition ebook and audio versions. Audiobook read by award-winning narrator, Teddy Hamilton.
Someday I might get sick of kink awakening stories, but today is not that day. I love cinnamon roll obliviots. Lea and Tripp were fantastic.
This is probably one of the lowest angst books I’ve read and still enjoyed. I like how the BDSM elements were handled. It was an all around enjoyable read.
And apparently destiel fanfic originally. Definitely enjoyable.
Sadly DNF'ing at 75%. I really didn't dislike this book but omg it just kept *going and going and going and going...* I have 120 pages left and the conflict has been resolved and I just can't anymore. Love the concept, the writing was fine, the MC's were fun, there were just about 4x more words than I needed and I am finally calling it quits.
Wow. Better than I ever could imagine, incredible story, plot, and characters. Read like the best fanfic of my OTP (iykyk 👀). Read it all within 12 hours, enjoyed every one of these 690 pages and now I need a million more just like it
I’m a straight woman so I was a little hesitant about reading a M/M love story, especially the spicy BDSM variety. But holy moly, I’m sooo glad I did. I devoured it like a kid given free rein at the candy store! This is one of my favorite books I’ve read in the past few years. Tripp and Lee have such a beautiful love story. It struck a particularly close chord with me because I have close family in both the medical field and who are firefighters.
I know not everyone is accepting of the LGBTQ community. This book may be a tough pill to swallow if you aren’t accepting. I’m not a part of the community, however, I 100% accept love is love. To be honest, this is the second M/M story I’ve read this year. The first one I read is called For the Fans. It was also a definite 5-star read for me. I don’t think I could choose which one I loved more. If you can accept a same-sex relationship, run to wherever you purchase books and buy both of these books. You won’t be disappointed.
* chapter one of this book is a little slow but, push through. It is absolutely worth it. Happy reading
I won't go over the blurb as you can read in the description. 🧐🤔
* MM * Dom Sub * BD.SM * Spice + * Fire fighter/EMT * Audio * Bestfriends * Triggers
Let me begin by saying the world Robin Lynn pulled me into was so intriguing I was there for every page (long read), the world of a DOM (Leander) & Sub (Tripp) the love & passion the feels this story brought out will live rent-free free in my head for a long time. 😍🥰❤️
Thank you, Robin Lynn👏🏾💐 Narration Teddy Hamilton brilliant performance as always. Thank you🎧 Story 📚📚📚📚📚 Characters ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 Narration 👄👄👄👄👄 #FireAndIce #Novella #RobinLynn #Narrator #TeddyHamilton #Mm #BD.SM #ExtraSpoce #Triggers #Adult #GreatStart #Audiobooks
Fantastic MM romance with BDSM relationship. Tripp is a firefighter, and his best friend Lee is a Paramedic. I was concerned about how it started, like the romance part was over and they were going to dive into a Sub-Dom relationship, but it had great character building. I loved these two, their personalities and dynamic. I felt like the extended edition wasn't needed, but I understand the author wanting to put more out there. I made this 5 stars as I would definitely read it again. Tripp and Lee will live in my head rent free. Delicious 😋 Also, that cover is amazing and beautiful!
This book has the potential to be a six star read with some more editing. The story is fantastic. The characters also fantastic. I really hated the third person pov. Also this reads like maybe authors first book and they self published which reading the other comments I think is what happened. I think if a good editor got ahold of this book and refined it and converted it to first person pov it would be one of my favorite books I ever read.
I will give this book a 3/5. It is well put together and the plot flows. The main characters are Lee, a paramedic, and Tripp, a fireman. The two men are friends and decide to benefits to the equation as a stress relief from their busy jobs. BSDM is introduced into the relationship and things go well. But both men love each other but are too afraid to admit it. But things happen that will test the level of the devotion the men have towards each other.
Well, I was excited to read this book and maybe I do like it somewhere in its depths of long-winded internal monologues of our MCs. Nobody needs 5+ paragraphs of someone agonizing over the same feeling. It felt like reading journal writings of a teenager. By the time I got towards the 70% mark, I couldn't take it. I stuck around to find out if they stopped being so stupid. Once satisfied, I left. I don't expect it for any less frustrating to read through.
What I did like was the BDSM scenes. Best writing in the whole book. It was interesting and emotional.
Trip and Lee start as best friends, both working very intense jobs and under a lot of stress. They decide to try out a friend with benefitssituation. They both go in with feelings for the other but assume it is just one-sided. It does get frustrating at times because the angst for them to figure it out is intense. Their relationship is Dom/Sub and spicy as hell. This has a pretty good storyline and good character building with some amazing side characters as well.
Good, elaborated Destiel fanfic. it was real fun to find all these estereggs in the story. And the overly explained mindsets and inside thoughts paragraphs were not too much. These heavy scenes require some understanding from the reader. The insistant repetition of it all is necessary. This is not a monkey see monkey do kinda sx scenes.
Good, good, good! Firefighters, EMTs, angst, great spice, found family and idiots in love. This author is one of my favorites. Hopefully we get more than the two they have published already. I want more. Read this book for a sweet angst story with MCs you will adore and a hard fought HEA.
This is one of the best books I have read in along time. Love the dynamics of the two main characters. This book had me in every emotion. Beyond five stars.
This book was an emotional roller coaster. It was so spicy then so much miscommunication but it was so believable and then sad and happy and surprising and sad again and then so hopeful and spicy all the way through. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book. I also cried twice. Iykyk.
I enjoyed Tripp and Lee but the story did get a little wishy washy. 690 pages was just too much I ended up skimming quite a lot. It was a little repetitive and about half way through I wanted to bash their head together because come on the love was obvious.
Lee and Tripp are simply beautiful together. Overall I enjoyed the story and really liked the first responder side of the plot, added something real. But I have to admit, it’s rather long and at times repetitive. I listened to the audiobook, so Teddy helped with pushing through to the end.
I'm giving it 1 star just because I got to listen to Teddy Hamilton other than that it would be 0. I cannot find one thing I liked about this book, absolutely should have dnf but I'm the type of person that can't stand to do that.
Book was good and would have been even better if it was a lot shorter. I love that bdsm was carefully explained in this book and concent is $exy! it was taking over the book tho . 5 stars for Narration Teddy Hamilton is just magical
I absolutely loved this book. It was incredibly sexy and sensual, and the kink awakenings were so beautifully and respectfully written. Honestly, this is such a great representation of what BDSM should be: consent, consent, consent. Safe practices, tenderness when needed, care, deep listening, and zero judgment. I adored that aspect.
I did get a little frustrated at times with how clueless Lee and Tripp were about their feelings for each other—I wanted to shake them and yell, “Wake up already!” 😂 But that just shows how emotionally invested I was.
The only downside for me was that some parts dragged a little, especially when the focus shifted away from Lee and Tripp. I found myself skimming those sections, wishing the story would go back to them. It’s a 489 pages book but I feel it could have been a little less.
Still, if you’re into kink, BDSM, or emotional slow-burns with real heart and strong D/s dynamics—read this book. I can’t recommend it enough.🖤🖤🖤
Édit : I know some people did not like it because they say it was Destiel fan fic, but I did not watch that show and I don’t feel the book was bad because of it at all. Love every part of the story.
