On a cliff, high above the sea, lives a woman known as the owl witch. She is mysterious and often feared by local fisherman. What they don’t know is that she lives in lonely solitude. A strange visitor knocks on her door and she embarks on a venture after being summoned by sea folk.

The artwork in this book is stunning and paired with the story makes this book a masterpiece. It’s dark and magical. Children who love fairytales and folklore will love it. This is one we will keep on the shelf.

We read the hardcover in English. I’m rating it 4.5***** because I do wish it was longer with a less abrupt ending.

I love how the illustrator creates the world and chooses colors. I also love how she creates creatures and draws animals, but the graphic representation of the people in this book didn't appeal to me. Nevertheless, it's a very whimsical story that's fun to read.

This was a bit of a random read that pulled me in by the stunning cover. I was left smiling to myself after being transported into a beautifully illustrated, whimsical fable-esque story.

Very enjoyable indeed.
