Seven years into the war Hermione and Ginny are tired of being treated like crap after one to many betrayals from Harry and Ron, they decide to join the Death Eaters, changing the rules and the game in the process.
This one has A LOT of potential, that was sadly wasted. The plot starts with Hermione and Ginny being absolutely fed up with order, especially Kingsley, Harry, and Ron. So much so that they leave the order for good and become Death Eaters. Honestly the girls are unhinged and it was so refreshingly funny. But..... The story soon had no plot or flow. Alot of the chapters felt disconnected from each other. Like I wasn't reading the same story sometimes. Meh.... Sad to say.
The amount of eye rolls I did reading this book and it’s not because I was touching myself. So out of character and no character development for H and D. Like they haven’t seen each other in years and all of of sudden he’s not cutting his hair since H arrived cause he knew she was the one. GET OUT OF HERE !
This was an interesting take. I actually really liked it. Some of it i felt needed more explained, and I felt there were a few too many loose ends. I liked the plot and writing style. The sexual tension was good, and so was the spice. I overall enjoyed the read.

In theory, this was a good idea. It had some very interesting twists to the usual plot, but it just didn’t deliver. The characters were SO out of character that it was impossible to accept what was happening. It felt very awkward and rushed out.
No me importa, que piensen lo que quieran, a mi nadie me va a humillar enfrente de todos, VIVO POR DRAMIONE FICS. Estuvo divertido pq Ginny y Hermione están total y completamente delulu
4.5⭐ This book was freaking brilliant. It gave me everything I wanted and ugh the way I ate it all up like just yesyesyes. The characters are so beautifully written, the dynamic is amazing, all the relationships are exactly how I'd want them and the plot was just babe what woah like I did not know this was possible in a dramione fanfiction but hell yes did I enjoy it. And bro a friendship between Hermione and Tom freaking Riddle is something I didn't know I needed until today. Like they're so badass and so cool I love them 😩😩. I love it when Hermione and Ginny just show the world they're the boss it's the best thing ever. Overall I loved it and thank you so much to the author for writing this because I rarely ever get books which give me EXACTLY what I'm looking for. I'm afraid this book was very much my type 🤭🤭.
This was an Awesome Read! I saw a clip about Draco growing his hair out and it got me. I was kind of ify about reading this though, because I read that Harmione was a death eater but I decided to read it anyway. Ahhh! I really enjoyed it! Hermione and Ginny leaving the order to become a part of the opposing side was Everything! Ha! Those a holes should have treated them better, it was soooo their loss. The two girls are rebels without a cause, they are there to f shit up and have no remorse. I love that they were complete bad azzes. They had everyone in a chokehold, it was fabulous. The whole bit with Harmione managing Voldie was golden. Ron and harry were unlike anything I’ve read them to be yet. It was difficult to read them that bad, especially the trigger part. That was crazy. I went through an emotional roller coaster throughout this book, it did bring me to actual tears. The ending was good, I could have kept reading about these characters, I wasn’t ready for this fic to end.
Some of my favorite quotes:
“You are incredibly fucking annoying,” he growled.
“Your not boyfriend is watching, or should I say glaring.” Renauld breathed close to her ear.
she couldn’t be that girl. The girl who made all the moves and trailed around after a guy who didn’t want her as much as she wanted him.
“Touch her, and I will cut your hands off before I kill you.” Draco hissed.
“So tell me why, when it comes to you, I lose all sensibility? Tell me why I can’t control my thoughts or my feelings… constantly fighting the urge to bend you over the table and fuck you until your cumming all over me, to kill anyone who so much as looks at you the wrong way.
“Malfoy men stop cutting their hair when they, for all intents and purposes, are permanently off the market.”
It’s year seven of the war: Voldemort and Death Eaters simply Apparated away from the Battle of Hogwarts once Harry Potter came back to life because it turns out there were still four more undisclosed horcruxes. War is hell, life living in an Order safe house is hell, and Hermione and Ginny have had it with everyone second guessing them despite their battlefield expertise, patronizing them despite their strategic ingenuity, and disrespecting them despite their willingness to do whatever it takes to win a battle and save Order lives. Harry entirely gave up on Hermione when years ago she began throwing Avadas around the battlefield—initially to save Ginny’s life and then because she didn’t see the point of slowly bleeding the Order to death by refusing to make the killing strokes. In the years since, Hermione has become almost entirely an Order pariah, kept around only because of her obvious brilliance on the battlefield; she is incredibly resented while repeatedly relied upon to lead raids. Kingsley Shacklebolt plays both sides—using her while allowing the Order members to abuse her and shutting down any number of brilliant inventions she proposes that would grant the Order advantage after advantage; it’s infuriating—almost like they WANT to lose. After Hermione sets a Fiendfyre on a building full of Death Eaters, in the process killing Dean Thomas when he disobeys three direct orders to abandon the field, Ron goes berserk and snaps Hermione’s wand. Then Ginny catches Harry, her on-again, off-again boyfriend, screwing around on her. That’s the last straw, and the two witches bail in rage. While they're cooling their heels in some distant countryside, Hermione gives Ginny a magical ring she'd invented, which pair she wears herself; it's wrought from the dead metal of Ravenclaw’s diadem and has been keyed with their blood and, when worn in close proximity to its pair, rebound any spell aimed at it back onto the caster. The two decide to leave the Order for good. Rashly Ginny Apparates them into the middle of a favorite Death Eater pub, where they convince a gobsmacked and skeptical Draco, Theo, and Blaise to take them to Voldemort. When the Dark Lord sees Bellatrix’s and even his own Cruciatus curses rebound from the witches back onto themselves, he gives them a hearing: Hermione says she agrees Muggle are inferior but that anyone with any magical blood should be free to live a magical life, even half-bloods and Muggle-borns, and Tom needs to drop the blood-purity bull crap, which she knows he doesn’t even believe himself anyway, being a half-blood. She convinces him to let her and Ginny freelance in exchange for a magical vow to not double-cross him, lie to him, kill him, or seek to rule in his stead. They’re sent to live with the Slytherin besties in France in a chateau renovated by Astoria Greengrass, who is dying of a blood curse; her husband, Theo Nott, Pansy Parkinson and her partner Daphne Greengrass, Blaise Zabini, and Draco Malfoy round out the group. The household makes magical vows to not double-cross one another, and they slowly move from loathing and mutual suspicion to trust and eventually even admiration and appreciation for one another. Blaise and Ginny realize they were soulbonded in another life and fall in love and marry in this one. And the sexual tension between Draco and Hermione is so thick you can cut it with a knife, though each is too proud to be the first one to make a move; their housemates gleefully and openly bet on when they'll finally Do It. During a raid on an Order safehouse, they ransack Kingsley’s office, where they find a prophecy he has been hiding that clearly says Hermione will lead the wizarding world out of the dark into the light. They realize he’d hidden the prophecy and stifled Hermione for years because keeping the war going has kept him the number one savior in charge, and if she saves the day he will lose all clout and never be Minister for Magic. Meanwhile, Hermione has slooooowly been gaining Voldemort's trust and respect, and when she reperforms the embodiment spell that Peter Pettigrew had screwed up that night in the graveyard, giving Voldemort back his original (hot) human body and face and convinces him to drop the cheesy “Lord Voldemort” thing and go back to Tom Riddle, he's in the bag for Hermione and affectionately treats her like a daughter. Hermione wins the Slytherins' eternal devotion by tinkering with potions until she cures Astoria of her blood curse. Then, she consolidates Tom’s power among the Death Eaters, then in all of the UK, and then gets him established as Minister of Magic, and puts him on a path toward world domination with a charm offensive (he’s strictly forbidden to kill anyone) and getting the votes to drop the worldwide Statute of Secrecy dividing Muggles and magical folks. The Order stages a brutal attack on Diagon Alley in which Hermione is cursed and almost dies, and in the heat of battle Ron puts a body-binding curse on Ginny and abducts her back to the Order safe house, where Harry, with delusional, stalkers devotion, tells her they're meant to be together as he repeatedly rapes her. After the Slytherins spend a full day and a half working on Hermione to counteract the curse and bring her back to full-ish strength, they Apparate to Ginny and rescue her, grabbing Harry in the process. She then proceeds to decimate the Order, slowly revenge-murdering Harry and then capturing and torturing to death Kingsley and Ron. When Tom, in a savvy PR move, successfully restores and reopens Hogwarts for the first time after seven years, the Order officially disbands, seeing no reason to continue the bloodshed if Tom, whom they still loathe and mistrust, is taking steps to bring England out of war and rebuild. Hermione and Draco fall in love an have SO much sex, and Ginny and Blaise get pregnant with their first child.
It’s a hilarious and intriguing idea: Voldemort wins, but it’s actually okay because by this point the Order’s way worse than anything the super dysfunctional and personality-disordered Death Eaters are up to, Tom gets a glow-up, and Hermione gets revenge on all the men and boys who have been taking her for granted since book 1, all while she smokes cigs, throws knives, looks hot in tactical gear, and wisecracks with Ginny. She’s brash and frankly insane—really, basically a Muggle-born Bellatrix Lestrange, with an equally saucy sidekick, but without the boner for Tom and blood purity and with a lot more realpolitik.
But! The delivery is very bad. The writing itself is quite poor—incredibly clunky and error-ridden. Then it’s a weird tonal mishmash of earnest ("trust this story!") with over-the-top absurdist ("this story is entirely tongue-in-cheek!"), which doesn’t cohere. The massive plot zigzags aren’t earned (why does abandoning the Order mean they have to fight for Tom? It's not either-or), absolutely no reason is given for why Draco and Hermione are so rabid about each other (physical attraction isn't enough to establish they're soul mates), the Slytherins adore Hermione and Ginny way too quickly (their entire brutal past is ignored almost immediately), it’s wish fulfillment galore (their Provençal chateau comes with closets full of ball gowns for Hermione and Ginny), but WORST of all no reason is given for why Hermione suddenly thinks Muggles are inferior to magical people. And she “just doesn’t really read much anymore,” which. I don’t know her.
It just doesn’t make sense. I’m HERE for a story where years of warfare grind people down into the worst versions of themselves and we see really horrible versions of our favs; really I am. And I love an absurdist story where Voldemort is insecure and thirsty for constant reassurance while being kowed by Hermione's constant disrespect and alpha attitude. But this book didn't know what it wanted to be and insisted we take it completely seriously while also insisted that everything be read with a wink and a nudge. The story has to make sense with what we knew of the original characters, and I need way more convincing than I got that even a battle-weary Hermione who’s getting hit in the face with the impossible expectations born of misogyny would suddenly decide that because she’s sick of being surrounded by assholes the only answer is to declare that Muggles are inferior (her own parents!). I want this same plot skeleton but with an awful Ron and Harry I can believe, a conniving Kingsley who makes the menace feels real and not silly, and a reason to join the Death Eaters that coheres with who Hermione Granger is. We have been shown nothing about Harry's journey that would explain why he's a rapist; a cheating, whiny, hypocritical douchebag, sure., but he’s never been a narcissist and it doesn't make sense for him to be one now. Kinglsey's political ambitions are so thin and the trade he makes in exchange to maintain the perception of irreplaceableness and genius is paper thin. It’s all just incredibly unearned, leaving it incredibly unsatisfying and something of a slog to get through.
There were moments of hilarity and room for so much more—like McNair grossing everyone out with his necrophilia (how is that a LOL?? But the author successfully makes it such a LOL!), Bellatrix being so stubborn that she won’t let go of her wand to lift the curse when her Cruciatus rebounds off of Hermione back onto herself, Hermione realizing Tom’s tetchy and insecure because his flat snake face is so weird . . . Just irreverent and silly and so fun. But those moments were not enough to make this fic good, and the bad or just plain disappointing was so prevalent as to suffocate the promise. Too bad; I really wanted to like this.
The war has been going for 7 years. After years of fighting and losing people, Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley are the only two people in the Order that are willing to actually fight fire with fire. And everyone else treats them terribly because of it. They decide, after a particularly bad fight, that they're tired of being treated like they are. Which... same. So, without an fanfare, leave the Order and show up at a bar full of Death Eaters. They move in with our favorite Snakes. But Hermione has a different plan for world domination and she's going to use Voldemort to get it.
We don't rate fanfictions in this house because that is hella disrespectful to these authors that write for free in their free time. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
Well this was fun!
Ginny shrugged. “Honestly, as long as I have you, I don’t care.” Hermione bumped her shoulder to Ginny’s. “You will always have me, Gin.” /201
“We grow tired of our skills being undervalued and rejected. If your King Snakeman,” the several hisses of offence that sounded put a smile on both hers and Ginny’s faces, “would appreciate them more, then we will gladly provide them. Otherwise, we will be on our way.” /478
“Well, Voldie-can I call you Voldie?” Hermione started. “No,” the man snarled. “Well, Voldie, we have come–” “How dare you!” Voldemort hissed. /535
Blaise grinned back at her. “You misunderstand, dea del fuoco, it’s not a bad thing.” He winked at her, causing the redhead’s cheeks to tint. /643
“If you two are going to fuck, can you just point me in the right direction first?” Ginny huffed sarcastically with an unamused look on her face. Draco’s grin grew. “Not even in your dreams, Malfoy,” Hermione snarled. Ginny raised an eyebrow at her. “Oh, it would definitely happen in my dreams, Granger, and you would be begging for it.” /960
“What time will we be expected to report back to Voldster?” Ginny asked. Hermione scoffed at the nickname, and Draco choked on his drink. /2093
“Miss Granger, I wonder if I might be so bold as to steal you from your boyfriend for a quick dance?” “I'm not her boyfriend,” Draco snapped venomously before storming away toward the others in their group. Hermione rolled her eyes while Renauld looked at her in what was certainly bemused disbelief. /3213
“We’re off to kill the wizard, the awful wizard named Pots. Yes, we’re off to kill the wizard; I hope he screams a lot.” Everyone stared at him for a second before simultaneously bursting into fits of laughter. /4521
Hermione scoffed in disbelief. “Then what was with all the ‘grr, caveman rage, me jealous arrgh’ bullshit?” Draco shrugged and smirked smugly at her. “Foreplay?” Hermione laughed and shoved him away with a shake of her head. “Unbelievable.” /4616
“You better not fucking die.” She snapped sourly. Draco chuckled and pulled her closer, “I'll try my best, love.” /5363
The reform to his public reputation had not been an easy transition for him. He still had a natural inclination to just kill whoever argued with him, and the order to refrain had not been an easy one to follow for him. /6870

They’re sarcastic, sassy, powerful, fearless, mommies, TUDOOOOOO!!!! A Hermione é tão poderosa e inteligente que tem um FUCKING MIND PALACE!! (Sherlock fans, Iykyk) Mas mais importante que o Mother factor, a melhor parte foi mesmo a relação da Ginny e da Hermione. They always have each others backs in the most wholesome and iconic way🥹🥹🥹
Fuck o smut, give me Protective Father Figure Voldy. De resto, chefs kiss🤌🏼
Nunca vi uma Bashing Trope tão severa como nesta fic. Não havia um bocadinho por onde passar pano ao Kinsgley, ao Ron e ao Harry. I’m so glad they died horrible deaths🤭
Once again, eu vivo para a found family que o Draco tem e onde a Hermione e a Ginny se juntam. I want to protect them all. They’re all so precious 🫶🏼😭
Recomendaria isto a toda a gente, mas vocês bitches não lêem literatura clássica como esta 🫠
I really enjoyed Apostasy, especially because I absolutely loved Hermione and Ginny’s relationship. It was just so sweet, like incredibly sweet and amazing. Their bond actually reminded me of Ludovica and Chiara from Baby (the Netflix series). That same deep connection and sense of loyalty really came through, and it felt so genuine and comforting to read.
When they joined the Eaters and started forming friendships with Theo, Astoria, Pansy, Daphne, Blaise, and Draco, the story developed this funny and familiar atmosphere that made everything so entertaining. It was genuinely fun to see how the group dynamic evolved.
That said, I do feel like some parts needed more explanation or context, and at times things moved a little too quickly. I also wish there had been more Draco and Hermione content. It definitely felt more friendship-centered overall. But once Draco and Hermione’s relationship actually started, I really enjoyed it. It was sweet, funny, and made me laugh more than I expected.
And oh my god, I couldn’t believe I was actually rooting for Voldemort. He was incredible here. I loved how the author gave him a soft spot for Hermione and made him protective of her. That was such an unexpected but amazing twist. What the writer did with his character was brilliant.
I have to admit, I didn’t really enjoy the politics in the story, that part just isn’t for me, but aside from that, it was a fantastic read. The ending was especially sweet and truly warmed my heart.
AU Dramione unlike any other I’ve read. The people comparing it to Secrets and Masks? Did we read the same fic?
I usually hate it when the characters are so out of character, but Hermione and Ginny join the Death Eaters - so it’s kinda self explanatory that they would be out of character. Hermione and Ginny were savage and I am here for it. “You’re a killer, Draco. When you look at me, isn’t it like looking in the mirror?” However, I didn’t really enjoy how out of character Harry and Ron were. Like Harry would not do what he did to Ginny and Ron wouldn’t facilitate it.
Theo had me giggling so many times throughout. I love a goofball Theo. “We’re off to kill the wizard, the awful wizard named pots. Yes, we’re off to kill the wizard; I hope he screams a lot.”
Possessive Draco 🥵 “Touch her, and I will cut your hands off before I kill you”. Also, I absolutely ATE the tension between Hermione and Draco up ❤️
I enjoyed the plot, however I feel like things could have been explained a little better and the ending felt rather rushed. A nice little epilogue to round off the story would have been nice - like what is Draco and Hermione’s life like 5 years later? What’s Hermione’s role now Tom is in power? How are Pansy and Theo doing? Are wizards and muggles living together harmoniously? Is the wizarding world more accepting of homosexuality? Yanno, like give me a detailed HEA.
Technical rating: 4.2. Ok so this book started off so UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! Very dark, so not meant for all audiences. I have never read a Hermione going dark book. She and Ginny were straight boss ladies. The stuff they said shocked me in the best way and I loved it lol How they treated Voldemort??? Unmatched. Absolutely killing it. I felt like the love story between Draco and Hermione (no spoilers, it's a Dramione fanfic--what do you expect to happen?) It was mostly a Hermione and Ginny-centered story. Their friendship is everything. CANNOT believe the ay Ron and Harry were painted in this pic--different (especially Harry) from the normal, but very interesting take. Made so much for this story. The way Hermione plays everything is genius--the way she orchestrates things and makes it happen. Very determined and mastermind type of Hermione. Absolutely diabolical, ruthless, cut-throat Hermione and Ginny and I haven't read a book like it. I feel like at one point toward the end it might have gotten a touch slow in some aspects, and I wish the romance was a bit stronger. Very, very good book!
This was fun. The gore and spicy were good (nearly too much) but the friendships and found family made up for it.
Solid Dramione. I mean it’s Draco, he is top tier no matter what. And this Draco is in FINE form!
JKR is a trash person.
Review Breakdown: Characters: 4⭐️ perfect morally-grey Hermione (and Ginny! I love when she actually has a personality). The whole deatheater cast was great. Tom Riddle is weird. Plot: 3⭐️ haha world-domination but like in a good way? The whole bit over who smart Hermione is and how everyone should just listen to here was a bit much. I mean the prophecy? Meh. Setting: 3⭐️ I love the across Europe aspect. Themes: 4⭐️ Emotional Impact: 4⭐️ check the trigger warnings when it says to do so. This is where fanfic some authors do such a good job of making sure people know. Personal Enjoyment: 4⭐️ you had me at Draco, so I was going to have fun no matter what.
I heard this is a less emotional trauma version of Secrets and Mask. Still need to read that one.
I have to start arguing that the plot of the fanfic has incredible potential, YET still it was a horrible execution. After watching several reviews and comments that hyped me up on reading, I read it, being dissapointed wasn’t the only I was. The prophecy telling Hermione would be in control of a global deep state was actually interesting, but SERIOUSLY UNDERDEVELOPED and pushed aside by the end of the fic.
Characters are way out of character (IMO), cringy dialogs and expressions that would never be mouthed by characters themselves.
The political building was decent, showing layers of complexity managing deep state world domination. On the other hand, the romantic/friendship building seems rushed and unbased. (IMO) Draco and Hermione relationship appears out of NOWHERE and the so-recalled tension between them is UNEXISTING. NULE CONSTRUCTION OF RELATIONSHIP, wdym he told her she was his girlfriend and that was the end of the discussion. I WANNA SEE THE DEVELOPMENT, NOT JUST THREE SEX SCENES AND “I LOVE YOU”S AND THATS IT.
