Rate this book
Caro Brown’s life is chaotic. As an ex-West End actress with a famous family, dealing with paparazzi, fake friends and endless parties is par for the course. All that glitters isn’t gold though. Her friends are never there for her, her dates are selling stories, and she can’t stop thinking about the man she stormed out on a year ago.

Jeremy Hawksworth has spent the last year trying to put his life back together after his relationship with Caro went down in flames. While she parties with the Mayfair set, he keeps himself out of the limelight, throwing himself into his work.

When Caro loses her beloved grandfather, she’s shocked to discover he left her his Alpine chalet in his will. However, it comes with a caveat, one that forces her to rethink her lifestyle. When her path crosses with Jeremy again, it sets of a chain of events that makes him question everything he’s ever known.

Hey! I’m Laura Elise. I’m an indie author from South East England, where I live with my husband and son in a cute little village. I was the kid in the corner with a book for a lot of my childhood. Reading has always been an obsession of mine and so has writing! I love to travel and I incorporate cities, beaches and rural landscapes into my writing. I’m also a massive history geek so watch out for various historical details in my books. I’ve got a very wild taste in music and I create a playlist for every mood and each one of my books!

If I’m not reading or writing I’ll either be on the beach, having a swim in the sea, or on my sofa, doing something creative like embroidery or jewellery making.

This was one heck of a ride! A great mixture of sassy and cozy. Caro and Jeremy are “classy but naughty” and their chemistry is sizzling - this is a fade-to-black/mild spice story, but they are hot!

With a beautiful alpine scenery and sophisticated London life, Laura-Elise delivers lots of drama, with twists and turns along the way that will have you at the edge of your seat until the very end of the book. I laughed and gasped and at one point, I found myself pacing the room, incredulous of what was happening. But in the end, all is good in the snowy slopes.

A special mention to the girl gang - they were fantastic and supportive - Saskia couldn’t have been more subtle if she tried (IYKYK).

Thank you Laura-Elise for the opportunity to be both a Beta and ARC reader.

An Alpine Proposal is a super sweet, fun, and cozy romance.
Caro and Jeremy have such great chemistry and banter! She is a force of nature and he is the only one who knows exactly when to challenge her and when to comfort her. Technically, this is a closed door romance, but Caro and Jeremy's flirting and teasing is sooo entertaining and soooo hot! These two are funny, cute, sweet, hot, and basically perfect!
If you're looking for a super cozy, sweet, and fun romance, look no further! An Alpine Proposal is the perfect book for you!

ARC/BETA updated Review of An Alpine Proposal by Laura-Elise Bishop🩵🗻💍🥂🏠🇬🇧👗🎿📚💘

This book owns my heart. An Alpine Proposal is everything I want in a romance—sweet, funny, cozy, and full of the kind of love that feels meant to be. Caro and Jeremy? Absolute magic. Their chemistry crackles, their banter is perfection, and the way he sees her—knowing exactly when to challenge her and when to hold her close—had me swooning on every page.

Laura-Elise has built such a gorgeous world in this series, full of deep friendships, breathtaking settings, and characters who feel so real it hurts. Caro and Jeremy’s second chance had me on the edge of my seat, feeling every moment—the longing, the tension, the twists I never saw coming. And even though it’s a closed-door romance, their flirting and teasing? Off-the-charts hot.

I have not stopped thinking about this book since I first read it as a beta reader last year, and honestly? I don’t think I ever will stop thinking about it. It’s the kind of love story that stays with you forever.💘

‘Santé, my little viper.’ She grinned.
‘Santé. I don’t always bite.’
‘Shame.’

‘Now be a good boy and do as you’re told.’ He smiled. ‘I love it when you call me a good boy.’ ‘One of us has to be good, and it’ll never be me,’

Congratulations to you, Laura, on the release of your third book in the Wilder Hearts series! An Alpine Proposal on this chilly Valentine's Day seems very fitting.

Once again, Laura brings us dynamic characters on a quest for love amidst deep family connections and a healthy dose of inner turmoil. In An Alpine Proposal, Jeremy and Caro are desperate to be together, however Jeremy's father's disapproval casts a dark shadow over them both, leaving Jeremy feeling rudderless and Caro fed up.

I really felt for Jeremy. He's caught between what he wants and knows is right for him (Caro) and the knoweldge that choosing her will be the final knotch in the belt of shame from his father. He's a grown man, but that doesn't mean it's easy to break free from a toxic parent. I appreciated the complexity of that relationship, and I found myself rooting for Jeremy's romance AND self-love story.

Caro is a spitfire who loves fiercely and doesn't take any guff. It's hard for her to understand Jeremy's position, because her own family is so supportive---and she wants Jeremy's freedom, not just for her, but for him. Through tension and calamity, we see them both grow to better understand one other's point of view, and ultimately, the path back to each other.

Well done, Laura! I am excited to see what's next in this series of love, family, and ride-or-die friendships.

This novel has so much potential. There were moments where the scenery was beautifully described and I could envision the scene but I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I felt there was a lot of showing and not enough teling. Sometimes information and events were repeated which made it redundant. I wish the death of Caro’s grandfather came a bit later so we could’ve gotten to know him and see what his relationship with Caro was like because I didn’t have any sympathy for any of the characters when they lost him. I was constantly told they missed him and he was so amazing etc but I never got to see it, so I didn’t believe it.
I would’ve liked to see more depth between Caro’s relationship with her mom. (Again show vs tell)
It’s a second chance romance but I didn’t feel any of the tension or fighting to forgive between the main characters.
I didn’t understand why Tom needed a POV of his own. It took away from Caro and Jeremy’s relationship and I felt there was more depth in Caro and Tom’s scenes than in Caro’s and Jeremy’s which disappointed me because this novel is supposed to be about their second chance.
This book just wasn’t for me but it doesn’t mean it’s not for you.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I loved this story, it was full of ups and downs between the MMC and FMC - Jeremy and Caro. I also loved the friends group and Caro’s family too, they were brilliantly written and such a good support system for the main characters. The French aspect was such a good addition too, I don’t speak French so I thought this was cute and an addition that I’ve not seen in a romance before.

I loved the side plot of Tom too, and I got a bit worried at point, which I thought was such a good little plot twist, and how that turned out (no spoilers here!)

There was one really emotional bit, that I my heart dropped at too, and I had completely forgot that there was a happy ending! Such good writing there!!

The love between Jeremy and Caro was so intense, and I loved his POV and his inner struggles, it was angsty and my heart ached for him.

I loved how Caro’s family gave Jeremy the support and love he needed, even in the beginning. Honestly, such a wonderful story, I could go on and on but I would give away the book!! Loved it.

This is the third book in the wilder hearts series.
I have three points to make:

1. My first point is the wilder heart series - this series has to be one of my favourites! It is one of those that has you come back for more! since reading the Ivy House I have been begging for more and have never been disappointed! These books have by far become my comfort reads!
2. I read this book first as an Alpha reader. When it was just a little baby and was in some of the first drafts and watching this book grow and develop has been an absolute roller-coaster and I am so happy that it is finally something I am able to rave about. It is such a cosy read and such a book that makes you feel right at home and living amongst the characters.
3. And the biggest point of all is the characters - my god, they are just the most carefully written and well thought out - they throw you into their world and you end up happily living there for ages!
I cannot recommend this book enough!

A fun, light-hearted romance that follows Caro, reformed party princess heiress, and her ex-fiancé Jeremy around glamorous London parties and weekends in a gorgeous chalet in the Alps.

Caro and Jeremy attempt to rekindle their relationship when their paths cross but are met with plenty of challenges, including opposition from family and friends, an unexpected clause in a Will, and strangers who test their loyalty to each other.

An Alpine Proposal has heart, vivid characters, family drama and plenty of intrigue. I loved the settings, banter between Caro and Jeremy, lush descriptions of the opulent dwellings, and the mouth-watering cakes that were ever-present.

It was an enjoyable sweet romance, perfect for the holiday season but also for a rainy weekend rugged up inside. Just make sure you’re stocked up on tea and snacks!

I’ve just started this book and I’m not loving the writing style unfortunately. It feels flat, I’m not connecting with the characters, and the narration often tells instead of shows, which makes the story feel distant. The beginning is also rushed, and because we don’t know the characters yet or what they’ve been through, it skips over the emotional weight of those events. As a reader, you never really experience it, which makes it harder to connect with their feelings. Maybe this comes up later in the book, I don't know, but I was expecting it to appear at the beginning.

(I’m not far enough into the book to rate it or mark it as read.)

An amazing second chance romance; Caro and Jeremy were previously engaged, but the engagement ended when Jeremy refused to stand up to his father's hurtful words and actions towards Caro. Now we get to see what they make of their second chance. This story has everything; leads who are interesting and dynamic, steamy 'fade to black' excellence, and the supporting characters are fully developed and bring warmth and humor to the story.

Third in the Wilder Hearts series, can be read as a standalone.

I received an e-arc from the author, but my thoughts and recommendation are genuine.

What if you already met the perfect guy but he wasn't able to stand up for your relationship but now everything you ever wanted could come true....
I absolutely love this story!! Twists, turns, tension and second chances!! Caro and Jeremy's chemistry is really 🔥. Despite all their differences and difficulties you can't help but root for them.
Like with the other books in the series the settings are beautiful and the group of friends is incredible. Laura-Elise created such a beautiful world in this series. All of her characters are incredibly relatable yet strong AND vulnerable in their own way.
If you love steamy books with amazing and relatable characters, put "An Alpine Proposal" on your TBR!!
