The Mobster Who Controls Ft. Leawood Ramsey Leawood has been keeping an eye on Tate since he returned to town for one reason—Tate is his son. They’ve never met, but Ramsey has an attachment to the idea of him. When Ramsey makes the decision to take Tate under his wing as his successor, he quickly figures out how difficult it is to convince Tate to take orders.
The Criminal on the Run Carver “Tate” Smith is a thief. He steals to make ends meet and has no family left to turn to in times of crisis. After a road rage incident, he’s arrested. It’s behind bars that he meets Ramsey, who offers him an alternative—work for Ramsey and gain his freedom or rot in jail. Tate doesn’t trust Ramsey, even if the mob boss tells him that he’s a friend of Tate’s dead mother, and he’s not going to stick around to find out what Ramsey really wants.
Falling in Love is Dangerous Tate tries to escape, not once but twice; however, he learns that Ramsey isn’t the kind of person someone can leave. There’s something Ramsey isn’t telling him. Regardless of his suspicions, Tate also can’t help but be tempted by Ramsey. The mob boss is mysterious and lethal and knows how to play Tate’s body like a professional. What will happen when he finds out the life-changing truth that Ramsey is keeping from him?

I wanted him. I had the desire to make him submit. Break his spirit and make him malleable.
3.5 I am your Daddy and your father stars
Low-angst father/son incest mobster-style where only one of them knows they're related.
I was expecting some I'm your father drama, but since these two had never met before, everyone was on board the father/son incest train. Lots of kinky sex, bratty behavior, crime world danger, violence, blood, and other mobster daddy stuff.
Surely, he wouldn’t kill me with his dick in my mouth.
“Remember who you’re talking to—” I lowered my voice. “—boy.” Yeah, you're talking to your father!
“Good boy,” I murmured, leaning down to kiss his forehead. “Very good boy.”
Damn it. Am I gay? I came fast enough, so probably. 😅
“Please, Sir, please. Do you want me to call you something? Fuck, did you already say? I can’t remember. Do you want to be my daddy? Some guys like that, don’t they? Daddy,” I breathed out.
“Want to know another secret?" he asked with a dark, velvety chuckle that slid into a low groan.

Tate is rebellious, after he ends up in a police cell, Ramsey Leawood, the superior mob boss, makes sure he gets out. Tate is Ramsey’s, his to keep and knead. Even Tate doesn’t know it. Tate, full of fury, doesn’t want to spend a second in Ramsey’s presence. He’s alone in this world and will stay so.
Every time Tate escaped and ran, Ramsey or his bodyguards picked him up and brought him back to Ramsey’s home. Tate’s recalcitrance makes him even more enticing. On his knees, he looks so delectable! Ramsey got his hands full with this boy, his boy… his…! He will punish him or reward him, just as he deems.
Oh, and as a true mob boss should have, there are enemies!
It was an explosive read, consistently written, quite violent, rough, hot, full of possessiveness, all super entertaining. The taboo felt mild probably because of how convincing and intimidating Ramsey was, lol. Always a pleasure to read a story written by these authors!
Definitely enjoyed this one! Hot, spicy, murdery, funny, sweet….taboo!! I would have liked to have had Tate call Ramsey “Daddy” more but it was still really good.
Mafia, taboo, Father x son (he never knew his father since his mom left while pregnant), daddy/boy kink lite, medium burn, virgin MC, age gap, violence, gore, novella (73k words)
Because this was a medium burn, I had really wanted this to be longer. Ramsey trying to train Tate to be his heir and successor when Tate wants nothing to do with the world and is not cut out for it. Though when he has his fits of rage, that's when Ramsey sees the genetics come into play and that Tate can grow into the role.
The cousins/nephews (Ramsey's sister's kids) were very interesting and I wanted to see more of them after that one dinner scene. If they were to later support Tate, I'd like to see them bond as well. If only this was a series, we could spend more time on Tate growing into the role of heir. Or if the other cousins get a book each, that would be interesting too because they all have different personalities (and fathers).
Tl;dr: Enjoyed this smutty yummy taboo one but wished it were longer.
This book is a standalone in the world created by Ki and Meg. There is mention of characters from other books (New Gothenburg) but no interaction with those people. It’s an amazing read for those who like mafia reads with taboo elements.
This book tells the story of Tate and Ramsey, son and father, with no relationship until the point of the story. After Tate has been arrest by the police, Ramsey find him and decides to give Tate an opportunity to take control of his criminal syndicate. But Tate doesn’t like anyone telling him what to do. While both men deal with the growing feelings, one of Ramsey’s enemies bound and determined on destroying him and those close to him specially Tate. I really appreciate this book and the writing, as always Ki Brightly and MD Gregory are amazing authors and never disappoint, I love the New Gothenburg World. Also, I want a story on Coyle please.

This isn’t what I expected. While there is the dad son kink it’s more the taboo part rather than kink. Since Tate didn’t know Ramsey was his dad and since they had been separated all Tate’s life it somehow didn’t feel so taboo but rather age gap.
This is also mafia so there is violence but not that descriptive so I didn’t feel this book is really all that dark.
The story itself is fun. Tate is totally a brat and pushes everyone’s buttons and that keeps it interesting. Ramsey has been through all this behavior before so it’s entertaining to see how he handles Tate. As they build a relationship Tate starts to do some of the handling. I enjoyed this story and hope there are more with this group of characters.
This was a wild ride. Tate is a bad boy, always letting his temper get the best of him. He's put up an indifferent facade in order to protect himself but secretly he just wants someone to care and not abandon him. Ramsey is his father but had no part in raising him. When Tate comes back to his hometown he's in trouble and Ramsey bails him out but on the condition that he learn the ropes of the business, both legal and illegal. Tate reluctantly agrees but also fights Ramsey every step of the way. It's a thrilling game of dominance and submissiveness that they both enjoy. There's fast paced action, danger and drama they all find themselves immersed in. I really enjoyed getting to know Teagan and Coyle and also seeing them become a family of sorts together.
Although Tate and Ramsey are father and son they have never met before. When their worlds collide, everything gets turned upside down. I enjoyed Ramsey and Tate. The two work well together and there is no denying that these two are crazy. I liked getting to see the personal side of these characters. It was interesting to see the way their relationship takes shape. Their story is a taboo read and has some dark subject matter. The authors have done a great job with the mix of action and heat. Not only do the main characters shine but the supporting ones have a lot to say as well and I would love to return to this world to see more form them.

This book tells the story of Tate and Ramsey. After Tate has been picked up by the police, Ramsey finally gets his hands on him again and decides to give Tate a chance to take over his criminal empire. But Tate doesn’t like anyone telling him what to do, especially not someone who claims to have once known his mother.
Ramsey is used to getting his way and will stop at nothing to bring Tate to heel, including using Tate’s desire against him. Not even their blood relation can keep them apart.
Chaos erupts as Tate tries to escape and fight against the hold Ramsey has on him. Enter one of Ramsey’s enemies hell-bent on destroying him and those close to him, and bullets start flying while both men try to deal with their growing feelings for each other.
While this book has some dark themes, it’s not a dark read. There is some action and suspense, but mostly it’s just an easy and romantic/hot read. There’s a taboo element, so skip this one if you’re not into that.
This book is a standalone in the New Gothenburg world by Ki and Meg. There is mention of some characters from their other books, but no interaction with those people. It’s a great read for those who like darker themes, mafia reads, and taboo elements.
It’s no secret that I adore anything that M.D. Gregory and Ki Brightly write. The Chaos We Create was definitely no exception. It was so good. I loved Tate and Ramsey so much. It was interesting to see how Ramsey justified starting the relationship. Tate was so bratty too. I would love to see him and Conall hang out. What trouble could those two get up to? Lol
I hope we see more from this world. I would love to get a story about Coyle and the DA was interesting as well. What was up with his childhood BFF? So many interesting storylines that came from this one.
CW: taboo (read TWs)
I received an ARC from Booksprout for my honest review
Well Tate and Ramsey are certainly an interesting couple. While Ramsey knows the truth from the start he uses it to play headgames with Tate. He doesnt have any faith that his nephews will be able to run the family business, I think he planned all along to find Tate and teach him. Tate is a fighter hes fought his way through all his life and relies on no one but himself. Seeing him open up, becoming friendly with Ramsey staff, I love the almost sibling like relationship with Coyle, despite their intital dislike of each other.
This was a fun little taboo story. Definitely caught myself laughing and smiling a few times. Tate was a brat but he did feel a little erratic in his personality if I'm honest, he goes into a rage state that never really gets explained or helped. Sometimes his character feels a little inconsistent. The taboo elements while hot don't really effect the plot too much or lead to any trepidation or drama in the plot. Overall a fun read. on a side note I guess I don't read many stories where Texas is the local and it was a new experience lots of talk of hats, heat and Ride 'Em Cowboy vides lol.
This book has spice for sure! It’s taboo, but not as much as I expected. It’s definitely mentioned, but it isn’t a main plot point imo. It’s got murder and drama, mob bosses and Killough references. Gregory and Brightly do a wonderful job of linking all their books into the bigger world. Loved the side characters in this one, honestly more than either of the MCs. I especially am looking forward to more of Coyle.
Yes, this one is spicy hot and taboo, but I enjoyed how these two ended up together. Tate did not know Ramsey was his father. This added that extra element of what is he going to think, how will he react. Tate is a bratty thief who pretty much needs a Daddy these days. These two are dirty hot together but that is not all this story is about. There is mafia drama, violence and suspense throughout. I also really enjoyed all the people surrounding these two. Gives me hope for some more!
Ramsey, a mobster shows up in Tate's life telling him he's training Tate to take over his business. After sexually initiating him, he trains him in all the ways he wants him without letting Tate know he's his unknown Father. In this dark, taboo novel neither man is good, admirable or redeeming but they own each other possessively. In the midst of their selfishness and bloody power, they create chaos and mayhem, driven by passion and lust. It's dark, dirty and dangerous.
Ramsey and Tate were an interesting couple. Their relationship is taboo. Almost no one knows who they are to each other. Tate was forbidden fruit and Ramsey wanted him so he took him. I enjoyed this book and how they made things work. I enjoyed the way Ramsey kept Tate in line, even when Tate tried to get out of line.

This was hot, steamy, sweet and spicy. It was a really good forbidden, age gap, mobster read about Tate and Ramsay. While this is a father/son read they did not meet until Tate was an adult so it doesn't feel as forbidden as someone was raised by their dad, makes it more tolerable for some I think. There is some action/suspense but isn't a dark read.
4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars. I enjoyed Ramsay and Tate’s story although it wasn’t overly taboo (Father/Son)as Tate didn’t know about the connection but there was plenty of hot steamy scenes in this mobster age gap story and it is definitely worth a read if you don’t mind the taboo element of the story.
Another great taboo book from the dynamic duo. I love smut as much as the next perv—son *cough* person—but I also love books with a storyline to them. This has both in spades. Meat and potatoes and spice. Yummy all around.
Highly recommend.

I really do enjoy when these two come together to create great stories. I really enjoyed this book, I enjoyed watching Tate and Ramsey getting to know each other. I almost enjoyed the side chacters and hope to see some of them get their own book and these two make an appearance. Can’t wait to read more from them, love a book with a good plot and some spice 😉
I enjoyed the taboo subject matter of The Chaos We Create by Ki Brightly and MD Gregory. But throughout the story, they kept justifying why it was okay for the taboo. I thought that distracted from the plot and the romance. Otherwise, it was a really good story.
I was really, really looking forward to this book and it definitely did not disappoint. Tate and Ramsey’s story starts out with suspicion, secrets and distrust but that morphs into attraction and a whole lotta heat. Spicy, so incredibly well written and a very, very welcome surprise.
Read the warnings it is a taboo book, if you can’t stand the heat get out of the fire because it’s was nice and toasty in those pages. Loved every moment of it, the recklessness of one who needed to be taken in hand and the delightful events to lead to his trainings.
I read this book when it came out and genuinely idk how I forgot to review it😭😭
I usually dont read this type of books but i gave it a go and ngl i like it I really liked Tate he was such a fun character (I swear im gonna finish this review once my brain is back online sorry😭)
An engaging taboo read that features a mob boss who will do whatever it takes to keep his wayward son in line whilst building a relationship with him. This plot has action, passion, murder and cameo of previous characters. Definitely an excellent read.
