W.A. Senior establishes how Donaldson's serious intent and adult concerns, powerful mythopoesis, and manipulation of the conventions of epic fantasy add significantly to the field of contemporary fantasy fiction.
A critical review of Stephen R. Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. Nothing really new here. All his hypothesis' were already pretty much shared by myself. Nevertheless it was fun to revisit some of the themes in his books, which I haven't read in a few years. Also, this book included two interviews that Mr. Senior had with Donaldson. These were very insightful as to what Donaldson felt about his works. I'm glad I read it, as I'm a big fan of Donaldson's work.
