6/5 Stars 🌟
This story was nothing short of breathtaking. If I could rate it 6 out of 5 stars, I absolutely would, because that’s how much I loved it. It’s a romance, yes, but also an emotional, soul-deep journey through grief, healing, and the kind of love that changes everything.
The chemistry between Gage and Harper is electric from the very beginning. Gage, the grumpy billionaire with emotional walls a mile high, completely stole my heart as he slowly let them crumble for the woman who truly saw him. But Harper…oh, Harper is the real star. Strong, independent, and full of quiet determination, she’s the kind of relatable heroine you root for with everything you have. She doesn’t need saving, but she opens herself up to love in a way that’s both brave and beautiful.
The writing is layered and emotionally rich, the story never once feeling rushed or forced. Just when you think everything is falling into place, a heartbreaking twist tests everything they’ve built. I found myself holding my breath, tearing up, and ultimately cheering for two people who fought hard to hold onto something real.
This was more than just a romance, it was a love story full of raw emotion, healing, and depth. A book I’ll carry with me for a long time. The story writing and flow of the storyline was impeccably done.
If you’re looking for something steamy, heartfelt, and unforgettable…. This is the book for you.

ARC Review

Saving Us by Krista Swanson is a billionaire romance and the first book in The Billionaire Brothers of NY Duology.

Gage Parker, heir to a billion-dollar empire, has focused on his career after a string of failed relationships. But everything changes when he meets Harper, a charming woman working at Fiona's Flower Shop. From the moment he sees her, something shifts inside him, and he can’t get her out of his mind. Determined to explore his feelings, Gage pursues Harper.

Harper has her own dreams of opening her own store, which keeps her too busy for relationships. But that’s not the only reason she’s been single. Gage leaves a lasting impression on her, and soon she finds herself falling hard for him. Yet, their insecurities from past experiences threaten to unravel what they’re building together.

Billionaire romance is one of my favorite tropes, and when you throw in a protective male lead, I’m hooked! This story has everything I love in a romance. It’s a love-at-first-sight story that progresses quickly, with much of the focus on their intense physical connection. However, there’s also a deeper emotional bond, as they help heal each other’s broken hearts. Their chemistry is undeniable, and my favorite moments were their dates—especially the double date with Gage's best friend.

If you're a romance reader, you won’t want to miss this!

“It’s not that I can’t live without you, Harper. It’s that I don’t want to.”

Starting off by saying I read Saving Us as a stand-alone, never having previously read any of Krista's other books.

Saving Us starts off strong, I was very invested and flying through the pages for at least the first 30 percent of the book. I loved our witty, guarded, natural beauty Harper. Her male interest Gage reminded me of Shrek...but like in a good way. Let's just say he has lots of layers, like an onion..haha!

The story line is adorable. Who doesn't love instant attraction, run of the mill beauty meets broody handsome billionaire beast?! I found myself swooning, launghing, and crying during these 370 pages. And I'm really hoping that you will to!

I rarely give a 5 star. I think I've only done so a few times! So I'm giving this book a 4! Nothing against it, I just typically read romantasy. So, reading an urban romance has just been a little bit of a change of pace for me.

Most thought provoking line: "The cars and people on the street below looked tiny from forty floors up, but they were bustling about, all going about their day, oblivious to the pain some people around them might be dealing with."

Favorite made me chuckle line: "But somehow, one specific d*ck was stuck on my brain."

Swoon worthy line: “A thousand times yes, in a thousand lives, yes."

This novel was a fabulous read! I loved how grumpy Gage is and Harper is the sunshine he needs.

No spoilers but there is a pretty epic flower shop scene.

Even with the quick start they remember that they still have deeply etched wounds and hang ups to work through.

This book has so many thing I love in a romance:
Grump/sunshine
A wealth gap that isn’t in your face! Business man and flower shop girl
Grand gestures
Communication shortly after the miscommunication!
Relationship baggage that needs to be over come.
No 3rd act breakup!

Can I also say I love a girly girl who likes pink! A character after my own heart! And her man picks pink as a color for big company event just because he loves her!

A MAJOR event in chapter 30!!! That ripped out my heart! I had to keep reminding myself “this is a HEA, it will all work itself out!”

Some favorite quotes:

“Even though you work with them every day, you still deserve to be given flowers.”

“I can’t wait to show you off to this entire room tonight. No one will look as beautiful as you,”

“There is not a part of your body that isn’t perfect. But it’s not just physical. Your intelligence, and drive, and the way you treat people, that makes up so much of what I love about you. That, combined with how you feel, and love. Your compassion is transforming me into the person I want to be.”

And she was. She was my goddess. Handed to me by God, or some higher power. To save me.

This was such a great read. I am so thankful that I was able to have the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book. Truthfully, I absorbed this book within a time span of 6 hours. I was completely immersed in the story. I found the main characters to be very relatable. They were written like people you could meet in real life which I appreciated. They had well thought out back stories that helped you feel a connection and care for them. This book was truly a rollercoaster of emotions but in a way that keeps you on your toes. The story touched on topics of grief, trauma, emotional abuse from past relationships, and learning how to heal from these experiences. The perspective on these topics was beautifully written in a manner that was sensitive and well informed. I personally was able to predict most of what was going to happen throughout the story, but this honestly is not a bad thing because the writing surrounding everything kept it all interesting and kept me wanting to continue with the read. It was also really easy to follow which was fantastic because I had not read the first book! This book is fleshed out enough to where everything can be understood without needed that background knowledge, though I am sure it would have simply added to the experience. I generally am more of a fan of fantasy so this was slightly different than what I usually tend to read but I definitely enjoyed it and I look forward to reading more from Krista Swanson, and I am going to be reading the previous book! Overall I give a 4.5/5, rounding up to 5 on here hehe. I only say 4.5 instead of 5 because I was able to tell most of the main plot points early on but again, this wasn’t a huge deal breaker for me and I still had a great time!

While running late for a meeting, Harper runs into two Brothers Gage and Chase. Gage doesn't have time for love. He is trying to keep his dad's business in the family and afloat. But after Running in to Harper, he can't seem to stay away. He keeps running into her. Gage is hot and Haper doesn't want a one night stand she is a relationship girl, but when they keep bumping into eachother things become out of their control. After Gage loses someone close it takes everything Haper had to keep him put of his head. Read more to see what happens. This book was very good. I loved Harper and Gage's story. It put me in my feels but I loved seeing the vulnerable side of Gage and Haper being such a strong female lead.

Saving us had me kicking my feet and giggling to sobbing my eyes out.
I enjoyed reading Gage and Harper’s love story and watching them grow. The character development was good and I find myself still thinking about these characters and what they continue to do in the future. Gage is the perfect book boyfriend. This spice 🌶️ is very good!!
This book has a gut wrenching twist that will rip your heart out. The grief representation is phenomenal. You feel like you’re part of the grief journey. I really enjoyed this book and the decrete cover is just beautiful!

The spice was SPICING in this book. Okay, now that I got that off my chest, Gage and Harper are so cute from their first (okay maybe not their first) but very early on interaction. While Gage is a strong MMC and very protective I absolutely love that Harper stands up for herself and doesn’t just give up what she wants in life because he’s a billionaire. I love this authors writing because it is very real world and at times pulls at your heart strings for many reasons.

Literally started the day I got it and I ate it up! Loved the dual pov. Gage is wonderful and harper was absolutely fantastic. They were adorable together and I liked how it wasn’t all rainbows they had to work through some stuff like a real relationship.

I need a second one asap!! I wanna know what is in store for them next and does Harper get her dream job!

Absolutely loved this book and the spice was 👩‍🍳 💋

Another arc read in the books! I wanna start by saying thank you Krista for choosing me as an arc reader!

Now onto my review!
This is book 1 in the BRU spinoff series. I haven’t read any other books in the BRU universe and still felt like I was able to keep up with the characters! (I will definitely be going back and reading the others soon now!)

Very rarely do books make me cry! I can probably count on 1 hand books that have made me cry in the last few years (happy or sad tears!) but this one did it! 😭 twice!

Gage and Harper are perfect😍 I love a man that can/will communicate what he’s feeling! Plus who doesn’t love a good billionaire romance!

Be ready with tissues around chapter 30 and on! 😭❤️

Some favorite quotes:

“A thousand times yes, in a thousand lives yes”

"The cars and people on the street below looked tiny from forty floors up, but they were bustling about, all going about their day, oblivious to the pain some people around them might be dealing with."

“It’s not that I can’t live without you Harper. It’s that I don’t want to”

This is a billionaire romance about two brothers, it gets hot pretty quickly into the book and I was instantly hooked! The main female character, Harper, works at a flower shop and wants to own her own someday!
Gage helps run a billion dollar company. He has had some relationship problems in the past and seems hesitant when it comes to starting one.

First I want to start off with that I have never ever been selected for anything, so to have this fly into my email and be chosen brought such joy to me, and even more joy once I started this book and couldn’t put it down!

Gage and Harpers story is everything you didn’t know you needed. If you love a strong male lead, with a broken heart from his past, but absolute compassion and tenderness with a beautiful strong independent female lead with a touch of a sass, class and a determination to grow , this is very much for you! Romantic, spicy, heart wrenching moments, and so many more, those are just a few to describe this beautiful masterpiece! The emotions through this read will go from hot/steamy, to laughing, along with some crying and pure joy throughout the entire book! It was hook line and sinker as soon as I started. Just a chapter or two in and it picks up immediately, and then you are hooked to continue on to fall in love with Gage and Harper, along with some other amazing characters throughout the read.

Gage is everything you ever want in a male lead character, confident and sure of himself, with moments of doubt and vulnerability, and sexy steamy scenes that make you wish he was the main male lead in your life! His past has been anything but kind to him, but the way he chooses to carry himself is intriguing and heartfelt. His success doesn’t make him pompous or stuck up, he remains so humble and it makes you fall more in love! His words and actions will have you swooning with every page turn!

Harper is the kind of girl I would be friends with! Her heart and empathy are one I truly admire, along with her strong will and determination to make all her dreams come true! Her sass and sense of humor will bring you to adore her more and more with every page. Having her own past issues brings out other sides to Harper you couldn’t imagine, or thought would be possible with how well she holds herself together. Her love for everything in her life shines through so bright it makes you want to chase all of your dreams and let nothing stop you from accomplishing them.

I don’t want to spoil anything for any of you, so my only advice going forward is buy the book and read it, I promise you won’t be disappointed in the slightest, especially if you’re a hopeless romantic like myself. These two characters are so different, a rich business man, and a woman working multiple jobs to create her dream. The way they end up entangled is even more captivating. The story brings you along with some twists and turns, but of course you always want that happy ending right? To find out if they got it, just jump right in!

Also wanted to add this, the way this author describes grief is so accurate and portrays what it feels to go through that kind of pain, and to have to continue forward while the rest of the world does it effortlessly, even though you feel like time continues to stand still. I related very much to that part of the story, and it helped me realize how far I’ve come on my own grief journey. She lays out all of lifes challenges beautifully throughout the whole book, in such an awe inspiring way. She makes it easy to handle the hurt that unfolds with how delicately she describes every triumph the characters find themselves going through and overcoming. All of this added to my love of her writing and this story. Enjoy!

📝My Review📝

In Krista Swanson’s Saving Us, it was a typical weekday morning for most, but for Harper today was the day that would lead her one step closer to her dreams. Unfortunately time got away from her and it was definitely not the day to be late. Due to working two jobs, a flower shop during the day and a club at night, Harper is living on minimal sleep just so she can afford her life in NYC. Not only does she work due to the high cost of living, she is also trying to save for her dream of owning her own flower shop.

Gage is a man on a mission, who prioritizes and lives for the family business, but is also guarded with barriers that have harden his heart due to a hurtful past. On his way to a business meeting with his brother, Gage abruptly meets a woman who charms her way into his grumpy heart. While the scrambling ray of sunshine is walking away, he and his brother realize that she is the individual that they were on their way to meet.

Although they are working professionally together, both Gage and Harper cannot deny the chemistry and desire for each other. Coming from two different worlds, will Gage and Harper be able to accept their differences and learn to communicate their wants and needs for each other? Or will they allow their differences and lack of communication to build barriers and destroy what they have?

Saving Us is a contemporary romance that gives a Cinderella meets Chuck Bass (Gossip Girl) relationship vibe. The MFC is sunshine and roses whereas the MMC is brooding with a hidden teddy bear heart. I will fully admit I am a sucker for Chuck Bass, so naturally I was really drawn to Gage and his storyline. Harper is spunky, strong, and creative that I could relate to her personality. She wasn’t afraid to go up against Gage and tell him what’s what.

Swanson did a marvelous job capturing the struggles of keeping independence but finding a way to compromise within a relationship. Furthermore, the plot twist that she included within the story was something I didn’t see coming until it happened. The characters’ reaction to the plot twist were realistic and helped shape the character development for each individual. One character I would have appreciated following more after the plot twist was Delia.
However that didn’t make or break my enjoyment factor while reading it.

In the end, I appreciated as a reader seeing the characters face a struggle that not only cuts your soul open, but the outcome is also something that many can relate to at some point in their lives. The truth behind Swanson’s words are striking and raw. With that said, please read the trigger warnings and be aware of your own reaction when reading. Definitely worth the read to experience the journey, but it can be triggering for some individuals

Overall, if you are into contemporary romance with billionaire grump and a strong sunshine woman trope, then this book is for you!

🤍Thanks to Krista Swanson for trusting me with their novel in return for my personal review🤍

ARC Review: Saving Us by Krista Swanson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

This book is absolutely a hands-down 5/5! From the very start, Saving Us pulls you in and doesn’t let go. The writing is beautiful and so deeply emotional, making it impossible not to get swept up in the story.

Though it’s part of the BRU series, Saving Us can easily be read as a standalone—I read it before any of the others. I immediately connected with Gage’s raw, profound hurt and felt a deep empathy for his grief. Harper has her own heavy past, but it was Gage’s pain that really resonated with me on a personal level.

Their love is palpable right from the start. Gage, a wealthy man running his father’s business, and Harper, balancing jobs at a flower shop and a club, come from opposite worlds. Neither was looking for love, yet they found it in each other. The chemistry and unwavering love between them was unforgettable.

Quotes like, “I realized that you are what I want. Fights and all. You’re worth every fight we might have, but I know I’m willing to fight for us.” and “It’s not that I can’t live without you, Harper. It’s that I don’t want to,” capture the depth of their bond perfectly.

********LIGHT SPOILERS BELOW THIS POINT: *********

For me, Gage’s journey through grief was especially moving. Having recently gone through a similar loss, I felt every ounce of his struggle. Swanson writes grief so authentically, with lines like, “Grief is a beast of horrific proportions. One day you might think you had it conquered, and the next it had you laid up in bed with a quart of ice cream.” This hit home, capturing the unpredictable, overwhelming nature of loss.

“He may have been fooled into thinking his grief had gone away. But it never goes away, especially not this early. It will subside with time. But then the pain gets packed into a remote section of our brains, and it pops out randomly, usually at the most inopportune moments. For the rest of your life.”

Despite Gage pushing people away, Harper’s unwavering support brought him back, showing how love can be the ultimate healing force. The way Gage held on to every word Harper said, storing them away as tokens of love, was such a beautiful touch. By the end, I found myself in happy tears—a rare occurrence for me!

Saving Us is a phenomenal read that explores love, grief, and healing. Highly recommend!

Sit down, grab your favorite blanket and cup of tea, turn on my cozy music on your tv and dive head first into this one! Overall, this book is just, good. It's happy, pseudo realistic, and gives the reader a great experience.

Positives:
- This one is written in past tense. I know this doesn't sound like such a big deal, but seriously, it is! So many romance books are written in present tense, which is great and all but I like it feeling more like a memory than anything else.
- Dual POV. I have found I almost always prefer multiple POV. Specifically, I love MMC POV. Seeing the way a MMC deals with circumstances is always fun.
- Well written. It's obvious that Krista Swanson is a seasoned writer and is very well versed in the art of writing. It comes across very well. I read a lot of Debut and Sophomore works so when I have the opportunity to read an author for the first time that isn't 'newer' and it's done well, it's a treat.

Negatives:
- There were times I found the story line moved a bit slow. Especially at the beginning. What I mean is that I felt like we were just on the cusp of a major moment in both the FMC and MMCs story for longer than necessary a couple different times. The story telling was good but it dragged a few times.
- I didn't like how the 'major climax issue' was put forth. I found myself reading those couple pages a few times to figure out where I missed key points and why I was made to 'just know' certain things happened. I appreciate the delicate nature of the topic and the need for it to be handled delicately. But it was almost too delicate. --Major Caveat -- I read a lot of dark romance with a lot of darker themes so this could be I am just used to things being thrown at me vs. it handled in a better manner. So this one can be taken with a grain of salt.

Overall:
I think this is a great read and I would have given it a full 5 stars if it hadn't been for my feeling of slow movement a few times. I would absolutely recommended this book and plan to recommended it to my Mother in Law ASAP. (I love her, she will love this)

I received an advanced copy of this book for my free and honest review.

Saving Us by Krista Swanson is a captivating billionaire romance that kicks off The Billionaire Brothers of NY Duology. The story revolves around Gage Parker, the heir to a billion-dollar empire, who has been immersed in his career following a series of unsuccessful relationships. However, everything changes when he encounters Harper, a delightful woman working at Fiona's Flower Shop. There's an immediate shift within Gage as he becomes fixated on Harper and unable to get her out of his mind. Driven to explore his newfound feelings, Gage sets out to pursue Harper.

Meanwhile, Harper is focused on realizing her dream of opening her own store, which leaves her with little time for romantic entanglements. Yet, it's not just her ambition that has kept her single. Gage's presence leaves an indelible mark on her, and before long, she finds herself falling deeply for him. However, their past insecurities threaten to unravel the bond they are building.

As a fan of billionaire romance, I found this story to be particularly engaging, especially with the inclusion of a protective male lead. The narrative encompasses all the elements I love in a romance - from a love-at-first-sight storyline that rapidly progresses to a strong emphasis on their intense physical connection. In addition, there's a deeper emotional bond as they aid in each other's emotional healing. Their chemistry is palpable, and some of my favorite moments were the captivating dates they shared, particularly the double date with Gage's best friend.

For fellow romance enthusiasts, this is a must-read!

Wow, Krista Swanson in introduced us to Gage in the second book in the Blue Ridge University series called “Surviving Lies” and he was fire in his steamy scenes. I loved his character and was looking forward to this book so much. I think Krista knew that Gage had to have his own story so she gave us the new series “Billionaire Brothers of New York”. Book one out 10/23/24 gives us more Gage and so much more!

Gage is a billionaire New Yorker who has had his heart broken one too many times to put his self out there for love. That is until he meets Harper or rather he runs into her, quite literally. Harper is hyper focused on owning her own flower shop. She learned young that if you want something you work for it in finding love was not on her to-do list. Fate intervened and Gage ends up meeting her multiple times. As the sparks fly Gage takes Harper to new heights. They build on their new relationship and find themselves facing old wounds. Harper never needed a night in shining armor and Gage learns that sometime the best way to love someone is to allow them to fight for themselves.

This book was a 4/5 Stars for me. It was full of angst and chemistry between these two characters. I love the way the storyline flowed and allowed the reader to really immerse ourselves in the characters thoughts and feelings. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who loves the following like I do.

Topics of Loss and Grief

This was my first Swanson novel, and a spinoff from her BRU series. Although this story was connected to a series it can still be read as a standalone.
This book follows Gage, a young billionaire who has been stung by past love, and Harper, a young ambitious florist. There is instant lust from the moment these characters run into each other, and I mean literally run into each other. Gage tries to fight it for all of 5 minutes before these pages get spicy.
Although it begins as insta-lust, these characters form a strong connection very quickly, yet it still feels quite natural.
My favourite parts of this story were the raw and believable emotions along with the characters ability to communicate, yay for no 3rd act breakup!!! There are plenty of immature reactions, however they communicate through each one.
I enjoyed the plot of this story, and definitely enjoyed the spice, the only downfall I had is that the story feels very rushed with a lot packed in. I felt some parts could stay rushed while other scenes could have been slowed down and given more detail, and no I’m not just talking about the spicy scenes!

Despite wanting some parts of the story to slow down or have more lead up, I still enjoyed this book and would read another Krista Swanson novel!

I received an ARC copy of this book for my honest review. I’d like to first thank the sweet author for giving me this opportunity and while this book wasn’t my cup of tea, I know many girlies loved it. In the yes, no, maybe category, I’ll give it a maybe for others if you like the tropes mentioned below.

Tropes:
Billionaire romance (who doesn’t love a rich guy)
Grumpy Sunshine
Spice level 4 🌶️
Good girl

Includes themes of trauma and death.
Premise: Grumpy billionaire, Gage, falls for flower shop girl who also is a club waitress, Harper. Told thru dual POV.

I struggled with the pacing of this book and like a little more of a slow burn. Additionally, there wasn’t much grumpy. The MMC went from grumpy to softy too quickly for me. Give me more curmudgeon! 🤣 I had a hard time connecting with either character and felt there could have been more character building. Also the word “baby” used in books gives me ick.

I really enjoyed the adult way Gage and Harper were able to discuss their differences (except when Harper took off her mom’s) and how the author addressed grief. I really enjoyed how the author wrapped up the story at the end which made me feel more connected to characters. Loved the NY setting and getting some Jersey Shore action. The spice was spicing so if you like it 🌶️, you will like this book.

The book is released on 10/23 and hope my review doesn’t prevent you from checking out this book or any other Krista Swanson books.

This was a very sweet and emotional story! Let me start by saying I’ve read both books in Krista’s Blue Ridge University Series and while I enjoyed them both, Saving Us is my favorite! And even though Saving Us is a spin off to the BRU series I didn’t feel like I needed to read the other two to understand this story.
Saving Us is a rollercoaster ride of emotions! I smiled a lot, laughed and cried! It has a great plot, well paced so it kept me interested from start to finish and it is nicely written.
Gage and Harper come from two different worlds. Gage being really well off and Harper having to work two jobs to try and make her dreams come true. I love a good grumpy sexy man and Gage is all kinds of hotness! The poor guy has been through a lot and is trying to work through his issues. Harper is so sweet and working so hard to make her dream of owner her own floral shop come true as she literally runs into Gage capturing his attention immediately in all the right and wrong ways!
Their first meeting had me snicker.
I loved watching the relationship develop and grow helping each other to heal. Especially after losing such a close friend in a horrible accident. When Gage literally tracked Harper down and lying to the security where she was staying just so he could see her because he thought he’d lost her forever was so swoon worthy! Thank you so much Krista! I really enjoyed Saving Us!

Saving Us is my first by this author. I was captivated by this grumpy billionaire with a permanent scowl on his face and the super happy and bright middle class worker with dreams of owning her own flower shop.

These two from different worlds bump into each other by chance and their chemistry was undeniable. It was love at first sight for Gage but his troubled and painful past stops him from diving in. Somehow, their lives are thrown together and it was hard to resist the temptation that was Harper.

These two sizzled right off the pages and seeing this well-to-do stoic business man turn to mush over Harper, was just so much fun. Having him fall apart showed such a vulnerable side to him that made him relatable. That even a distinguished man can have a sensitive side to him. And Harper brought him to his knees.

I was not prepared for the surprise twist towards the end and I'm saddened by it. I want to read it over again just so I can appreciate it more. That twist, though, added a strong foundation for Gage and Harper. It brought more depth to their relationship.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Every time I thought it was coming to an end, it didn't. The added twist really got me emotional and it added an extra level to this romance story. Well done.

Harper Wilson works in a flower shop by day and a server in a nightclub at night. She has dreams of owning her own flower shop one day. After losing her father at a young age, being that he introduced her to her love of flowers, she feels like by doing so it keeps her father’s memory with her.

Gage Parker is an heir to his family’s billionaire financial company. His mom left at a young age leaving his father to raise him and his brother Chase, only to push them to take over one day. Gage has focused on his career after a few failed relationships and not wanting another until he bumps into Harper and his life will forever be changed, for the better.

They both have no desire to be in a relationship however they both can’t fight the pull that keeps drawing them together and the strong connection to each other.

This is a Billionaire romance that has everything you love about them. It truly shows how a relationship can have such a strong bond that no words are needed to understand each other. It shows what true love should be and how even the toughest situations will never sever the bond that is built. When two broken souls meet and heal and become one soul it’s absolutely beautiful!

Gage: billionaire running his family’s financial firm.
Harper: works two jobs, one at a flower shop during the day and a club as a waitress at night.

They come from two different worlds but they seem to fit perfectly together. They both fall quickly for each other but Krista writes this story so that it seems Gage falls first and hard. Gage already has a reputation for not doing casual hook ups, so it’s no surprise when he falls for Harper. She’s this fun, cool, independent woman that he finds irresistible.

I liked how Gage started off as a grumpy character and as the story progresses we get to see his soft caring side. I initially was turned off by his obsessive response after their fight but as the backstory was revealed I understood it better.

Harper’s character also evolved through the book. She went from feeling like she had to do everything on her own to achieve her dream of owning her own flower shop, to being able to let Gage help in a way that didn’t take away her independence.

These two characters definitely balanced each other out and it was a story of growth and healing with some fun and sexy smut mixed in.

I had not read the BRU series where Gage is introduced before reading this advanced copy, but I will go back and read the others!

I was so not prepared to ugly cry….

Meet Harper, by day she works in a floral shop as an assistant and by night she works at a club as a server while saving money to open her own floral shop. Then there is the sexy yet broken Gage Parker, divorced and heartbroken, the oldest Parker son and billionaire executive of his families financial company. Will their pasts keep pushing them apart or will their shared burdens bring them together?

This book had me laughing, ugly crying, and loving the smut. I knew there would be heartbreak and struggles in the book, I was unprepared for the shared burden to hit so close to home. Krista did an amazing job of capturing exactly how that hurt Gage felt feels for real, it was honest and tangible grief. This was my first Krista Swanson book and I must say she is a fabulous writer!

Please check trigger warnings prior to reading, I did not learn from my happy mistake. I recommend this book 1 million percent if you like contemporary romance, need a good book to feel all the feels, or are just want to know what a neck tie, a pink rose, and Harper’s boss have todo with each other!

This book was honestly a breath of fresh air with realistic and healthy relationship development. I fear sometimes I read too much fantasy romance that has too many “fated mate” tropes or extra nonsense and this novel honestly was so refreshing. It’s so nice to read a book that sets realistic expectations that come along with a fresh relationship from two individuals that have a past. Everyone has a past and their issues, this book does a great job of displaying that, and healthy responses to your spouse having a history. Sometimes you don’t understand someone’s “triggers” or their reactions till you’re mature enough to sit down and have a conversation. I think the character development in this book was amazing because it really showed two people falling in love, learning each others flaws, and overcoming them together. This book definitely had some trauma and upsetting twists, but once again are realistic things that happen in life. Really great book and highly recommend it. I’m super excited to see if the sequel reveals a romance between the brother chase and gages assistant. Foreshadowing in this book was perfect in that sense.

This Book is without a doubt a must read! Saving Us made me feel every emotion and I love that when I read.
This is a billionaire romance, grumpy sunshine, a sweet flower shop girl, that takes place in New York. Saving Us has humor, spice, and trauma. I found myself giggling out loud, tearing up, and turning the pages with anticipation for what was to come next.
My favorite thing about this read is that it doesn't have miscommunication. Have you ever read a book, and you get so frustrated because the main characters go through the love, hate, love, hate drama just from not communicating. I feel like that can be used as just filler for a story. Saving Us does not have this. Yes, there are some obstacles the main characters have to work through, but they are relatable and real issues. That the characters actually communicate about and work through, sometimes with some hesitation.
Saving us is spicy, but not so spicy that it takes over the plot. The spice was appropriate when it was spicing. It was also realistic spice and allowed me to feel the sexual chemistry that the main characters shared.
Overall, this is a well written romance novel that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

🖤 NYC romance

Saving Us by Krista Swanson is a contemporary romance that kicks off The Billionaire Brothers of NY duology. The story centers around Gage, a grumpy, power-driven billionaire, and Harper, an optimistic florist with dreams of her own shop. Their paths cross unexpectedly, igniting a powerful chemistry that pushes Gage to confront his troubled past while drawing him irresistibly toward Harper.

I appreciate the emotional depth of Gage’s character, as Harper brings out his vulnerability, making the relationship more relatable and heartfelt. A surprising twist near the end adds unexpected emotional weight, strengthening the bond between Gage & Harper, it kept me on my toes. I particularly enjoyed the blend of emotional complexity, sizzling chemistry, and plot twists that made the story more than just a typical billionaire love affair .

This comes out on 10/23 I highly recommend picking this up and giving it a read!

I read Saving Us as a standalone and I could not put it down!!!!
Gage is heir to his father's billionaire company. I wouldn't say he's grumpy, but he does have a more serious persona. Harper seems like a fun, bubbly, girl, just working jobs to pay the bills. Harper and Gage literally bump into each other on the street only to find out Gage is a client that she's meeting that morning. Once they meet, they can't seem to stop thinking about each other. Gage is very apprehensive since he had just had his heart broken and was trying to move past what happened to him in his previous relationship. But he feels drawn to Harper and can't stay away. Together, they are intense (and spicy). I love how, even though he was cautious about getting into something with Harper because of his past, he was so willing to try with her and be so open with her. Their relationship gets tested a few times, but they work so well together to try to overcome obstacles.
This story was fast past and drew me in for more. It is well written and the characters have so much depth to them. This was a great story and I recommend giving it a read.
