USA Today, Amazon All-Star and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Amy Vansant has her Pineapple Port crew enjoying a Christmas holiday weekend for six at a Victorian bed & breakfast owned by a feisty Australian lady and four giant Flemish rabbits. At the Outback Inn, all phones are stored in a time lock safe to be sure guests disconnect and unwind.
Sounds quaint, right?
I mean, except for the murder…
When the ex-owner is found dead beneath a pile of Victorian dolls, Charlotte is ready to pack up and leave if she has to drag the rest of them with her. Unfortunately, the storm outside won’t let them go—the place is in the middle of nowhere, they have no phones or vehicles, and in a bet between humans and Florida lightning storms, the smart money is on the lightning.
When the body of social media sensation Princess Christmas shows up next, it’s a race to solve the crime before slay bells ring a third time!
Sheriff Frank and Bob think they've won by begging out of the bed and breakfast trip. Too bad a Christmas decoration thief is working their way through Pineapple Port. When they join Seamus undercover in a nativity scene to catch the culprit, things don’t turn out as planned…

I enjoyed this book and even at one point my eight year old niece had me reading it out loud to her. Don't worry I stopped before the bodies started showing up. It's another fun adventure for the Pineapple Port gang that will have you chuckling. The only thing I would say was even though Darla and Mariska were present they didn't really get up to there usual chaos and I thought they were very quiet for them. Still a good read and I enjoyed them all being trapped together during a storm, in a very unusual bed & breakfast. Not a place I would want to visit but it made for a great setting for a mystery, especially with this set of characters. The mystery was good and kept me guessing with all the twists. I can't wait for the next book. When Mariska wins a Christmas holiday weekend at a Victorian bed & breakfast for six she invites Declan and Charlotte. They reluctantly tag along and get caught up in another murder investigation. The business has only just been sold and they are the first set of guests to stay under the new management but when the old owner is discovered dead under a pile of dolls things get even worse. A big snow storm hits and with no way for help to arrive or to contact them, Charlotte and Declan will have to find the killer themselves before anybody else gets hurt. But which guest of employee is a killer and why? They will have to uncover more than secret staircases to uncover this killer. I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I absolutely adored this book. It was nice to have Darla & Mariska take a back seat to all the action. I’m not convinced Mariska “won” the stay at this out of the way place in Florida. What could go wrong on a holiday to the B&B? Well, for one there are no electronic devices allowed in the guests possession during the stay. Most guests were unaware of this stipulation. Also adding to Charlotte’s uneasiness is the doll situation.
The side mystery of who in Pineapple Port is stealing Christmas decorations was a nice diversion and we see more of Bob and the Sherrif.
Again, the Pineapple Port gang resolve the situation and all is well.
I was given an advanced e-book copy and am not required to leave a positive review.
I haven’t read any of the rest of the series but it said this one could be as a standalone book so I thought I’d give it a try. I do think there are enough running jokes and so many different quirky characters that it would be greatly improved by reading the series in order. One of the main characters wins a weekend in a new “ specialty” hotel. What could possibly go wrong? The answer is everything! Cue the chaos! It was a fun read even though I often wished I had more of the backstory to reference. All in all I recommend it! My thanks to the publisher and author for the opportunity to read the arc of this. The opinions are mine alone.
Christmas in Florida Gets Even Better This is a funny episode in the Pineapple Port Mystery Series. In this tale, the entire crew goes for a complimentary weekend at a new bed and breakfast. Things go bad immediately. The group sets about trying to solve a murder engulfed in mystery while the entire inn has been unplugged. And then they lose power in a massive storm. Meanwhile Frank and his group are hunting down stolen Christmas Yard Ornaments and drinking expensive Irish Whiskey. The entire book is a blast that keeps you on your toes.
Great series, but I do recommend that you start at the beginning of this series. You won't regret it. This one was good and hard to put down. Couldn't figure out who the murderer was though. Surprised when it was revealed. But those scenes with Frank, Bob and Seamus were hilarious. When it was revealed who the thief was and why, you wanted to help the thief with his mission. Great story and very enjoyable.
Mariska wins a free trip to a B&B and invites Darla, Charlotte, Declan and Blade. When they arrived they had to lock up their phones for the weekend and while they were doing that a thunderstorm struck. When Charlotte and Declan go to their room they find a stack of dolls and later when one moves they find a rabbit and a dead body. With no phones and no way out Charlotte and Declan are called to investigate. Great story with many twists.
Charlotte, Declan, Blade, Darla and Mariska are really going to need a vacation after Mariska wins free weekend at a new B&B. While they are chasing after a murderer, in a storm without the use of modern technology, back in Pineapple Port Bob & Frank conduct their own investigation into missing Christmas display items.
A Trip to rest, think again. Ah give up the phones for unplugging. A rain storm that lasted three days. A good read. Two stories going on husbands were at home and Frank was trying to find the thief of holiday ornaments.. The Women were at a big house that was a bed and breakfast weekend and it was in now are in the country and owned by a Australian.
I absolutely love this series. It seems to get better with each book. The plot keeps you guessing and the characters are quirky. There is plenty of mystery, some romance, and a lot of humor. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
Hilarious series Declan and Charlotte are "seasoned" detectives solving all kinds of cases including murders. Great cast of characters and more to come. Always interesting animals to add to the mystery. Fast reading and totally entertaining. Highly recommend. #23
Such a great addition to the Pineapple Port Adventure
Amy Vansant delivered again! Frank and Bob's little mystery made me misty and Declan and Charlotte heading off in another Mariska's and Darla's "free weekend" was another good one!!
Charlotte and Declan are invited to spend the weekend at a new Bed and Breakfast place in the middle of nowhere Florida. There are some strange rules and stranger happenings. A great story.
Another fun entry in a big series. Set (generally) in a retirement community, though this one takes a vacation. Interesting characters, amusing dialogue, great descriptions of the area and buildings. Short, but cheap, and worth a read.
Now, the older gentlemen have to solve a mystery. While they have their hands full, Charlotte and company have a murder to investigate. There are dolls and rabbits in the mix. A really fun read.
The characters are well written. Their antics make me laugh out loud and I can imagine a retirement community being like this. I love how the author shows the love felt between the characters even while they drive each other crazy.
Scary dolls, murders, and no communication options give Charlotte, Declan, Mariska, Darla and Blade a weekend they don’t want. Meanwhile Frank and Bob track a decoration thief. All good fun, entertaining and as ever very enjoyable.
Win a free weekend at a remote Bed & Breakfast, what can go wrong? This riveting witty mystery and thriller kept me engaged. I highly recommend this book.
Another great chapter in the Pineapple Port series. A wonderful story full of great characters. I didn’t want it to end, great page turner. The Christmas time story was very enjoyable.
Pineapple Christmas is the 23rd book in the Pineapple Port Mystery Series. Charlotte and the gang head to a bed and breakfast that is Christmas themed. Everyone was hoping for a relaxing time but unfortunately someone is murdered. Without cell phones and being a long way from anyone, the crew must solve the crime on their own.
Loved the twists and turns in this one. It kept me guessing! I can’t wait until the next book.
This story was really cute and a nice break from the horror, chaos, murder and mayhem that I usually read. It was light and funny and easy following the 2 different story lines (a bed and breakfast murder and stolen Christmas decorations). I chuckled and I got emotional, which is what (I hope) the author was looking for. More Crazy Christmas than Happy Christmas, but I liked it! 😊
