The board is set. The walls of Castle University, once my stronghold, now echo with the whispers of war. As the Queen, I've faced betrayal, navigated alliances, and survived attempts on my life. But nothing has prepared me for this.
My Kings, my protectors, are the only certainty in a world of chaos as an unseen enemy casts a shadow over our hard-won peace.
In the dark corridors of power, I tread a dangerous path. The whispers call me a monarch of manipulation, a mistress of the great game. But I am not just playing for power; I am fighting for our future.
As secrets unravel and loyalties are tested, my heart and my crown are on the line. But they underestimate me. I've turned gambits into triumphs and faced down so-called kings without flinching. Now, I must lead us through the ultimate test, where the only way out is through, and the only ending I will accept is the one where my Kings and I emerge unbroken.
For in this grand finale, it's not just a happily ever after at stake—it's a legacy that will echo through the ages. And I will claim it, whatever the cost. This is a dark academia reverse harem with plenty of TWs. This takes place in an entirely fictional world set in the UK. This is the third book of three in the Royals of Castle.

Series review 3.5⭐️ the relationship development was uneven throughout the entire series. Eliza had more of a relationship with the twins than Oliver and James. At one point I forgot James name because he seemed like so much of a side character. I couldn’t feel the connection with any of the characters. The plot lines kept changing too quickly without any real story development. I felt the reader witnessed an “outline” version of the story instead of the full depth of what the story could be. The brother, then the aunt, the bad professor, bad VC, the enemy school etc etc etc. Some things resolved unrealistically with a few sentences. No further looking into her mother’s death or really discussing that with her dad besides in one little sentence? Her dad a big mob boss never figured everything out that her aunt was doing? Or that she had a child? Things just didn’t make sense in the storylines. I think it would have been better if one or two storylines were developed over the series instead of each tiny one that was started and over with little details.

Gambit - book 3 in The Castle series and it kicked off right where book 2 ended with Eliza (FMC) missing. In that she showed why she truly is the Queen in this series. The knock on effect was that she stamped her own rule and implemented changes within The Castle. Family and Loyalty were a major factor in this last book. It was a brilliant finale to a cracking trilogy of books. I've loved Eliza and the guys from book 1 and although I'm sad it's the end it finished the way I'd hoped it would.
What an amazing third instalment. The Gambit packs a hell of a punch with its pace, suspense and thrilling plotline. The game is set and the call to arms is set. Can Eliza overcome this final challenge that threatens all she holds dear but also, the legacy intended for her? With twists, turns and moments that make your heart stop, this surely isn’t a game for the faint hearted.
This was absolutely everything! Intense, intriguing and deliciously dark, it had me gripped from beginning to end and wishing that I didn’t have to go do real life things so I could just read. It was pacy, it was intense, it shocked me and it left me gripped from beginning to end. This Twisted, dark, delicious, immersive and tantalising tale has taken me on the most epic reading journey that I actually miss. Eve has once again managed to consume my body and my soul with something so delicious that I wonder how she can top this but she always manages too. Read the trigger warnings! This is a must. Like I said, this isn’t for the faint hearted!
Eliza: the most badass woman with the biggest heart but the most incredible desire to protect. I adore her. I adore how she remained true to herself throughout despite all the challenges she’s faced. I love Eve’s ability to write such beautifully strong women. Again, the men were brooding, tantalising and deliciously dark but also, vulnerable, unafraid to be honest in their feelings whilst being the most dangerous beings. I loved them. I miss them already.
I cannot wait to see what Eve comes up with next because this was an absolute powerhouse.
The smut was definitely smutting in this series & it was the main reason I kept reading & made the read worth it. The characters & plot though not so much. There wasn't enough depth or emotional connection with any of the characters. They were just there, the only real background on any of them was the FMC bc the story was basically all about her. The story was overcomplicated & not enough all at the same time. It was good don't get me wrong but it wasn't great, it felt repetitive just one enemy after another & they were too easily dealt with. There was also a weird fascination with ghost peppers & the FMCs tattoo, like really they were mentioned constantly & it got old. 😅 I think it could've been a really amazing story if there would have just been one clear concise enemy working in the background trying to bring them down throughout the whole series, maybe some of the others either completely cut out all together or at the very least was a smaller fish in the bigger enemies barrel type situation. Bringing the story to one explosive twist ending would have been so much better, cut some of the other stuff out & use that energy into character build, emotional depth & more backstory into the guys, show me & make me feel them fall for the FMC. As it stands, they all just instantly fell in love for no rhyme or reason at the very first look of her. 😅 I love a good insta love story but this wasn't exactly it.
Still I really enjoyed the read, I had fun listening to it & discovering some things I'm questioning myself over now. 😆 As I said at the beginning the smut was definitely 🥵 & made the read worth it, it was wild, sexy, depraved & fun.
She makes you want to be her and they make you want to have them for yourself.
I wanted to give a 5 stars to this while series and I would of if the ending didn't just be so abrupt. I felt like we missed so much. Like what happened to the retribution or so call pay back from the VP. I would of liked more with Felix and what brought him up. Also what happened with Cian. He was with Victoria and we didn't even hear about him. It got confusing for me. But don't get me wrong I enjoyed all of it and the HEA it just felt abrupt to fast felt missing things is all. I loved her guys. I love when they want her from the start and they always planned on being with her. My favs were the twins but Rapheal took me 1st my top fav my #1. I wish she woumd of had a beat friend. Always love when the fmc has a just as bada@ss bff to stand by her too. Emogen i think the name was would of been great. Anyways I've read her other series and they are just as great. Start with Crush. Ruby is bad@ss FMC then read her sister's series. All RH as well. This author is amazing. Never fails to write the characters with Bad@ss images.
I’m confused… I felt like the first two books in the series were missing more background and world building. I also felt like things didn’t make sense: How did Eliza not know any of the guys or their families if her dad was the biggest bad guy, their families were in some sort of alliance, and she supposedly sat through all these mob meetings with her dad? How does her dad fail to mention that his “one night stand” before her mom was her mom’s twin?? Why did Eliza have to go to Oxford for two years instead of Castle like everyone else?
The final book almost felt like a completely different story. All potential threats are suddenly not really a thing anymore. Eliza is on a push to get good grades and spend her one year at Castle making mob kids more hardcore? She has all these internal monologues about her goals, but there’s nothing to explain why her goals are important. What does her dad even do? What will she be taking over? Why did Peters hate her so much?
The whole thing was just strange and took a sharp turn to randomville by the end. I’m definitely disappointed.

So - you know how some movie sequels feel like the makers are either out of ideas or have lots of ideas but none are good enough to carry a whole movie but they make it anyways because there are people who will want to see it after enjoying the first one?? Well - that is this book. A random mishmash of barely connected stories, each with little to no tension and zero character development, more loose ends than a pile of shoes, poorly written and shockingly vanilla sexy fun times.. I really shouldn’t be disappointed in the end of this really quite tame and derivative ‘dark’ story .. but if you’re reading this review you’re probably too far in to give up - if it helps you feel like you can stop now - she gets away from the kidnapper within a few pages with no real harm done…
Overall, I found this book the set of books to be very entertaining. It was hard to suspend disbelief for the super quick fall for your guys immediately trope like one of the men. it made sense cause he’s been watching her for a while. The other men hadn’t it didn’t sound like they didn’t grow up with each other. They weren’t terribly exposed to each other. It sounds like But immediately this woman who guards her heart is in love with all of them. I just couldn’t buy it and some of like the phrasing made it sound like the relationship had lasted a lot longer than it actually did so I found that to pull me out of the story of it
The Gambit: I love when a book starts off right where the last book left you hanging. This one is no exception. Our FMC is missing, but she has shown why she is the Queen. Eve pulled me right into this story, and I did not want this story to end. The Kings have to come to her rescue and that helps her wrap up her story. This story is VERY much darker than the rest of the series, but I could not put it down, Eve really pulls you into the world and makes you want a HEA, which she does deliver. I will forever LOVE reading Eve's books, her world building is so amazing and she makes you fall in love with the characters.

This trilogy is spicy and very violent. The University aged children of the top mafia families in the UK are all together in an elite school, Castle. The male offspring instantly fall in love with the sole female heir and a harem forms. The fmc's character is driven to succeed and please her father. The entire storyline is hard to believe and pretty pointless. Several fast spinning adventures occur that have no purpose or background. The premise is that this group must take control of the school and be leaders. Nothing in the storyline even touches reality. I skipped several chapters, especially in book 2 because they were just boring.
Omg I don’t think I could love Eliza any more ! She’s strong , a force to be challenged with , fierce and such a bad ass b*itch ! Her kings are just swoon worthy ! Each one of them brings something else to the table and an individual connection with Eliza
This book will have you shocked by the betrayal , proud of the kings to the point you just want to hug them when they nearly fell apart and just love all the plot twists in this one.
This is one series you need to read if you are into UK Mafia and learning how you become who you are within the organisation
To say this book wrapped everything up would be sadly put. As always Eve writes a story that captivated you from the start and held you hostage for the entire ride. As hard as it is to tell the characters good bye after all this time I am so happy to see the outcome of their story. Remember to check all your triggers as this is a continuation of the two previous books which proved to be dark… but in the best way possible.
Sit back, strap in and prepare to have your world rocked in an explosive wrap up of our newly addictive world. The spice is there’s, every ending is wrapped up nicely (well as nicely as Eve will alow it to be lol) and over all the story is just sucking you in from start to finish.
I don't know what to say about this last book of this trilogy. Bitter sweet comes close to what I am feeling. You are wrapped up into the series from book one, page one. You know it will come to an end, but you don't want it to. Eliza has been kidnapped. Her kings come to the rescue. This solidifies the bond for Eliza and her Kings. It doesn't stop there, though, because what mafia world would? I loved this story, and even though the ending is bitter sweet, it still wraps everything up. You will end the book satisfied... just like the Kings leave Eliza satisfied. 😉 😉
I absolutely loved this series!! This is the third and last book in The Kings of Castle series and I so wish it did not have to end. I will say this book was a little bit more on the darker side but to me it was perfect. Add in the steam and wow it was a heck of a ride. Absolutely loved Eliza and her guys. Storyline was phenomenal. Definitely a series that is going to stick with me for a little longer. Start to finish it was very very good. Highly recommend reading.
Eliza and her mens story has been absolutely incredible. I loved seeing the men band together to save Eliza and man was that intense! However this Queen did not get an easy end.
I absolutely loved the action packed and sexy read this book gave and this whole series was such a wild ride! Be prepared for twists and turns that will have your haw dropping to the floor!
Hands down one of my new favorite series by Eve and I cannot wait to read more of her mafia series!!
I think this is the perfect end to the trilogy. It still has the twists and turns that I have come to love from Eves books. But with the added bonus of tying everything up in a neat little bow. The 4 kings and their queen are not to be messed with and its about time everyone knows. This dark mafia trilogy has plenty of spice and banter amongst the characters whilst keeping a good story line! I fully reccomend to anyone who wants a completed RH Dark Mafia romance.
This trilogy was amazing, I am sad and happy that this series has come to a close. But this really wrapped everything up nicely with the story and characters. Eliza was taken and her Kings rescue her, and I loved that this was what helped solidify their relationships. Even though they're together, it doesn't mean anything will stop happening in the mafia world. The entire wrap up of their story was great, this may be my favorite series from Eve to date!
This is the final book in the series and I had high hopes for it. What I got was a let down. While it was good and it tied up all the loose ends, they were quick. I was left skimming over pages. When there was about 40 pages left of the book it just turned boring.
I gave it four stars because it was good, they got want they wanted in the end, but it was very anti-climactic. It’s like the author was rushing to end this story.
This series just gets better and darker and I am here for it! If your soul screams for something you would never ask for in real life - then this is the book and series for you. These characters are not afraid to ask for what their soul needs - and they deliver on the delicious details. Wow what a book! I am so in love with each and every character and I wish I was Eliza 🖤
You know by now that this series is dark - I hope you double checked those easter eggs to find that the author gave you because you're gonna need the warning.
I didn't want to put this one down, I feel sad to see the characters go but I have purchased the series as I know I'll be rereading this one many times.
Continues from Book 2. Eliza has gone missing. Due to what the Carver Twins done a few years ago has come back to bite them in the arse. Hughes don’t break. Someone from the outside at another University is making a move on Eliza and her Kings. Chancellor Peters is trying to get Eliza out of the University. So much more happens in this book. More tension and spicy scenes. This trilogy ends with a HEA. Loved this books. Eliza just grows with each book. She’s such a bad-ass. The guys are soft but they are also protective of Eliza.
This series keeps turning up the level of darkness and spice. It is one that has a trigger warning for good reason! I have loved Eliza's strength from the beginning and will stand by that as she has only gotten stronger. It's amazing to see her kings willing to do anything for her along with watching their bond grow. It is a page turning conclusion to Eliza and her Kings' trilogy.
OHHH my lanta that was a ride! and again Eve delivers me another smash! i love Eliza and all her men this was one epic ride it picks up from that stunning cliff hanger and we find out who takes our girl( not that they can hold her long) and how her men scrable to get her back and then that stunnign ending i love love love this! I didnt want it to end lol
Loved this series! Eliza was always such a badass and never let anything break her. Loved her Kings and how they always supported her. This book was a good wrap up to the series.
What a way to end this series! Eliza was such a fun character to follow along with, I love a strong FMC. And her guys? Top shelf. I’m sad to see the end to this story, but u loved the way it ended. ❤️ highly recommend if you love a good RH and a strong character dynamic!
The final book in this amazing series wraps everything up in a nice bloody bow just for me and you. Those pesky questions are answered, traitors are found and alliances are made. A new world is possible for the Queen. Absolutely loved this world
A story full of action, mystery and, of course, steamy scenes. Next generation Mafia making their place in the world known, taking no prisoners. Absolutely gripping series.
The Gambit, book three of the Kings of Castle series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Excellent wrap-up for this fast-paced thrill ride. Insane characters, plot, and violence, but the writer made it all work.
Eliza, Raphael, Tarqiun, Oliver, and James were going to graduate from the University so they were getting ready for the new king to continue their work. Eliza wanted to expand the business to grow and own a group of loyal soldiers for her cause.
This is one of my favorite books ever written, but mind you, it isn't for the faint of heart. There are triggers, so keep that in mind. Besides that I say the darker the better! This is exactly that. The story continues and we are finding out who kidnapped Eliza and how that affects her and her guys. Will they rescue her on time? How to deal with what comes next? Not only that but a war is brewing and who is your friend and who isn't? I loved this one!
