Hello Booker!!! 🥵

Karley is the Queen of cowboy romance books!! This was such a quick and thrilling read under 300 pages. I got cozy on the couch and read it in one sitting😆

I really enjoyed how fast pace everything was from beginning to end. Booker is this brooding possessive MMC who will do anything for the people he cares about( and I do mean ANYTHING). I loved how Brynne is this no BS kind of girl and the way she stood her ground and fought back with everything in her. The banter and tension between the MCs was SO DANG GOOD! I love a good grumpy/sassy trope and throw in so dark romance and I’m hooked 🥵

The spice and tension happens quickly and OH MY it did not disappoint! Booker in the skull mask…The scene at the haunted house… WOW.

3.5⭐️ This is one of those books where you just have to lean into the chaos or you’re not going to enjoy it. Lucky for me, that’s my specialty. I can go with the flow, and guess what? I enjoyed it.

We’re talking insta-love/insta-lust vibes here. It’s a short book, so things move fast, super fast paced, with spice kicking in almost immediately. Honestly, it was such a fun little read to kick off my fall TBR. You’ve got masked cowboys, a haunted house touch, and just the right amount of dark vibes.

Now, I’ll admit I didn’t love the MMC, which is why I landed on the rating I did. I like my MMCs grumpy af but he was kind of just a dick 😂 I kept asking myself, “But what’s the reason?” by the end of the book I definitely liked more.

I really enjoyed her writing, found the story entertaining, and thought it was the perfect little palate cleanser.

Y’all. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚 really went full throttle into her 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑪𝒐𝒘𝒃𝒐𝒚 𝑹𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑬𝒓𝒂 and she KILLED it! I absolutely love her Bell Buckle series and was so excited when she announced this book.

This book was dark, twisted and full of a ton of spice & kinks and I. Ate. It. Up. 🤭 Booker would do anything for Brynne. There are a lot of stories that are ‘dark romances’ where the MMC is mean to the FMC, this is not like that. Booker plays such a great villain and Brynne loved every single moment of it. He was also the embodiment of “touch her & d!e”.

this was too fucking good and i ate this shit up in one day. what the actual fuck. i wish i could read this all over again and meet these characters for the first time 😩 i really wanted to get into my cowboy romance era and KNEW this would put me in the best mood. first of all it’s dark romance but then you’re telling me these cowboys are masked and the mmc likes to share his woman with his friends ?? yeah i’m fucking SOLD 💥💳

booker, austin, and henley … GET OVER HERE YOU SEXY COWBOYS 🤲🏼 booker breaking into brynne’s motel room with a cowboy hat and mask on had me literally gushing 🦵🏼💦🦵🏼 but then when booker let his friends play with her … i never wanted to be an fmc so damn bad omg

after finding out that henley gambled the ranch away, booker and austin are out trying to find the person with the deed to the house and take back what’s theirs. when they ended up in a diner they stumble upon brynne who happens to be the ex-girlfriend of person they’re looking for. they find out that she just broke up with chase and doesn’t know where the deed is since she’s been living at the motel. booker, austin, and henley came up with the plan to have her stay at their ranch until they catch chase. but during her time there, she couldn’t help but be drawn to their darkness. especially booker’s. but booker isn’t one to let his attention waver from his home. he never had the time to care or be with anyone besides his best friends and looking over the ranch. he tried to push brynne away but even being in different rooms from each other in the same house, he still couldn’t stay away.

good lord how i wish this was a why choose romance 🫨 the way i would’ve actually passed out. but fuck did i love the group play and the alpha male energy given off booker 😮‍💨 that man was in charge from the moment you started this book until the end. the way he literally told his friends what to do to brynne had my legs TREMBLING !! austin and henley are so cute 🥹 i hope they get their own books !! i need to dive into austin’s mind and learn all about him. i also need to see why henley held himself back in this book. i feel like that man is a freakkkkk and i’m eat that up 🤤

DEVOURED. Absolutely devoured in like 2.5 sittings! Could’ve easily been one!

This book is super short so it definitely has some insta love to it but that’s not a deal breaker in the slightest because the plot was as thick as the spice and was prevalent throughout the book.

Our FMC has a crappy, gambling boyfriend and she ends up in the middle of a bad win for him and then as a leverage debt and along the way meets 3 best friends and it gets interesting.

The pace was PERFECT! I never wanted to stop reading. Totally bingable.

Not much character development for how short the book is except for our MMC! I loved watching his character grow!

And the spice was spicing! I also loved some aspects from the beginning being brought back around!

OH! And we’ve got a little twisty twist happening!

All around such an amazing read! It’s definitely not for everyone so check your trigger and content warnings!

Karley can just write it all! I absolutely devoured this story. It’s a quick, steamy, read and a good option if you’re looking to get into dark romance.

Booker and Brynne’s chemistry was off the charts. Booker is a rough around the edges cowboy and Brynne matched him tit for tat with her sassy personality. I felt with a story this fast paced, the spice was perfectly balanced. Cannot wait to get my hands on Austin and Henley’s books. 🖤

I got suckered in at the idea of a dark cowboy romance (especially since I've read a couple good ones in the past month or two), but this was a solid pass for me

Yes, I came for the cowboy smut, but I still look for tension between the characters to make it all feel believable, of which I felt none :/ Honestly, up to the point where I decided to call it quits, Brynne just behaved like a brat and Booker behaved like an asshole, with no real chemistry. I often enjoy a brat/dom dynamic, but there still needs to be a spark. The smut also came out of nowhere really fast and just felt forced and out of place, which is where I was like "Nope, pass!"

I wasn't really feeling the whole plotline of forcing Brynne to stay on the ranch to get back the deed from her ex, let alone forcing her to stay and wanting to put her to work. If Booker wanted her help, he should be kissing her ass, not making her do manual labor lol. But that's more of a minor issue for me with the book 😆

Overall, I feel like Brynne and Booker were written to be typical dark romance characters -- the bratty FMC forced onto her knees by the filthy-mouthed, arrogant MMC -- inserted crowd-pleaser dialogue, mostly on Booker's part, but left out all the things that make a book a romance, even for a darker one

When I got the opportunity to read this book early, I read the blurb and screamed in excitement. This book did not disappoint my expectations!!! I read this in one night, not even kidding. It’s a dark cowboy romance with a revenge plot, which is a first for me! Usually my cowboys are family men with a loyal dog, sometimes a single dad. I’ve never encountered a cowboy like Booker. He’s rough around the edges, and scary, but fiercely loyal and protective, especially about Brynne. This book was so good, the story was very fast paced and moved along to make it devour-able. The spicy scenes do seem to come out of no where, and there really is no slow burn, they just kinda start. I would have loved to have seen a little bit more banter, tension, back and forth, and growth before it seemed like both Brynne and Booker were completely obsessed with one another in their own way. Besides that, this book was great and I’m so glad I got to read it before release!

I really wanted to love this book. When I saw “Dark Cowboy Romance” I was immediately excited to read it. I’ve really liked all of Karley’s other books, but this one fell short for me. It’s a novella, which I wasn’t bothered by, but I felt like there was so much more to the story that we didn’t know because of how short the book was. I found myself wanting more information about the main characters, like their backgrounds, and more of their personalities and I felt like by the end, I didn’t know anything about them. I honestly don’t recall what Brynne even looks like or if it was mentioned in the story… Brynne’s ex-boyfriend put her in a vulnerable position and Brooker basically comes to save the day and tells her to come live with him and his buddies as collateral for her ex. He and his buddies own a ranch and live the morally grey life. Brynne agrees to come live with the men until they get what they want back. She barely even batted and eye at living with total strangers. Brooker wasn’t the type to bring random women home, but Brynne wasn’t like other women. They had amazing chemistry, and she liked to give him control and he liked to take it. The spicy scenes were the best part of this book. It was almost an insta-love deal. This book happens over only a few days and it seemed like they went from strangers to all in very quickly. There were parts I thought were great and parts that I wanted more of and I just wish it was a bit longer so I could have more information about the characters and their situations.

I rolled my eyes so hard, I’m surprised they didn’t fall out

The MMC’s came across so well rounded and they actually had a backstory and the FMC was written like an afterthought, purely there for the male gaze I’m afraid. No explanation into her circumstances, only that she’s a victim of another man but instantly trusting 3 guys she’s never met, make it make sense

The first real smut scene felt really awkward and fumbly because there was no trust built on mutual ground

If this was written as a full novel instead of a novella it would have been 5 stars. I just wanted more the whole time I was reading. The romance felt incredibly rushed and insta-lovey and the story progressed way too quickly. That also meant I couldn’t connect to any of the characters because everything moved way too fast. I do hope Karley writes more dark romance in the future because the plot was gripping and fun and the spice was steamy af!

The way I would "Run away" too IYKYK! Booker and Brynne are made for each other, IM OBSESSED!! I mean masked cowboys?! I'm SOLD!! Get your toys and partners ready for when you read this. Tmi? Probably but oh well.

Brynne just broke up with her boyfriend and is trying to get away and better her life, as much as she can anyways. What she doesn't know is that he has something that a certain masked cowboys want back.

Booker is demanding she move in with them until he gets what he wants but she's reluctant until she realizes she isn't safe and the masked cowboy isn't going to back down even if brynne fights him every step of the way....until she doesn't.

Im 99% sure this book has crack in it. Has to. I DEVOURED THIS. I have never really been a dark romance girly, but Karley absolutely changed my mind on that real quick.

Fictional cowboys are my kryptonite and when I saw this dark masked cowboy romance | ATE IT UP! I cannot adequately tell you how much I loved this book. I could not put it down

The banter and tension had me SCREAMING. I love the "its him and her (but also sometimes them) dynamic because the only thing better than one hot masked cowboy is THREE MASKED COWBOYS!! The fire scene actually took me out I think i fainted 🥵

This book is perfect for all the cowboy lovin girlies who want a little bit of darkness and depravity in between their spicy rom coms 😮‍💨

WELL HERE IT IS LADIES! Karley DELIVERED with this deliciously dark cowboy romance!! YEEEHAW

From page one, I was HOOKED. Booker and Brynne? They’re absolutely magnetic. Brynne is such a strong, witty queen and Booker—OMG, he’s dangerous, brooding, and so hauntingly irresistible it’s AMAZING.

We also meet Booker’s ride-or-die crew—Austin and Henley—and let me tell you, when these four get together, it is HOT 🔥🔥 But the heart of this book is all about Booker and Brynne’s relationship, and ohhh, it’s everything! 💞 She’s got an attitude, and he LOVES it. The way they grow as individuals is just beautiful. Brynne challenges him at every turn, and I was cheering her on the whole way. 👏

Booker might be tough, but even he couldn’t stop his feelings for her. And watching them learn to trust and love each other was beautiful. He softens in all the right ways, and she becomes even more of a badass. These two are dangerous but SO GOOD together!

Plus, the action and violence scenes? Karley made every moment feel like I was right there in the middle of it. This book? EXCELLENT from start to finish!

I had a great time with this one! The pacing was quick but I actually loved the dynamic storyline. I’m officially sold on dark cowboy romance 🫠

Booker and Brynne were HOT. While we don’t get a lot of vulnerable moments between them, which I of course would’ve liked to see more of (however, this is only 250 pages so I can’t expect too much), I actually really loved Booker’s growth! You see him slowly become more mindful and caring of Brynne which was super sweet. I loved Brynne’s sass and no nonsense attitude.

Loved the kink and dominance in this one. Again, just HOT 🥵 I had a grand ole time!

I NEED MORE

I absolutely loved this novella! It was quick, suspenseful, steamy, and even had some sweet parts added in 🫶🏼
I love the direction Karley went with this and I really, really hope we get more cowboys in our future!

Booker is… sheeeew! He’s hot, possessive, and a little mysterious! Just everything you could ask for in a dark cowboy romance! The mask? Hand necklaces? The sharing?! It was magical

I loved Brynne’s character too! I loved the sass she gave and loved watching her and Booker’s relationship transform! Their chemistry was so good!

Overall, this was just perfect in my opinion! A quick novella that will be sure to get you out of a slump! (And maybe have you blushing 🤭)

This was a RIDE! I have read very few dark romances, and I took a chance on this one because I absolutely adore Karley Brenna's other books. AND THIS WAS AWESOME! HOLY SHIT! Her writing is so strong, and this was HOT! We love a 'touch her and die' down bad bad boy, shoutout to Brooks for being terrifying and also somehow a cinnamon roll for his girl.

This is definitely a recommend, I loved it (and want to know, will there be more books in this world?!)

Wow. This book. I absolutely devoured this thing. A dark cowboy romance that isn’t toooooo dark. Just dark enough. If you like your cowboys a little dark then this book is for you. I loved the spice, the characters, the suspense, everything! I need the next book right now please.

This was literally one of the most unhinged books I’ve ever read… you just gonna go along with the ride and not talk it too seriously. Books are meant to be fun. I will say, she did get me with the plot twist, I did not see that one coming.

Definitely interested to read the other books in the series 🤠
