Back in high school, Atticus teased her as the local “witch.” Now October hides away from the judgement of her small town in the safety of her quirky shop, dreading his daily visits.
Until a tarot reading sets her on the path toward the man she knows must be her soulmate—Brent, the boy in the band who just showed back up in town.
Now she has to make a deal with Atticus, the one man she hates the most, to change her reputation and get in good with her dream guy.
As fate pushes them together, tension builds, and everything she thought she knew about herself, her small town, and the men in her life start to shift. She may be forced to reconsider her own judgements and leave the comfort of her seclusion.
Incantations of Love and Fate is a spicy enemies to lovers romantic comedy filled with hilarious laughs, witty banter, sizzling chemistry, one bed forced proximity, and cozy fall romcom vibes.
A cute short autumn read... ruined by how insufferable the MC is.
October is peak "not like other girls." She's not "normal." She's "weird" and "awkward." So the entire town hates her. Or at least she thinks they do because she is so preoccupied with being a judgmental shallow bitch who labels everyone boring and vanilla with disdain.
She perceives everything everyone says to her as an insult even when they are obviously trying to be her friend. She thinks no one likes having her around because she actively hates everyone but her mom and her old neighbor lady. Meanwhile, she sees Brent, the wannabe Rockstar's obvious bullying as him just being a "cute quirky artist."
She spends almost every day of her childhood, and apparently, her adult life too, hanging out with Atticus and knows zero things about him or his life. She really goes out of her way not to give a shit about anyone but herself. How can your mom be BFFs with the boy next door, be forced to spend all your time with them, and be completely in the dark about the major traumatic life events going on next door? Atticus' mom never talked to her best friend for emotional support?
Atticus and Evie were the saving grace in this book that kept me from DNFing. Even at the end of everything, Atticus deserved so much better than October.
This cute fall book had at page 1, the two main characters banter back and forth had me laughing so hard. I just knew it had to be him. My 12 year old even loved listening to it with me while we made dinner last night. Don't worry she didn't hear any of the 🌶️🥵 going down. The friendship's October made along the way we're so amazing to watch grow and I say watch because I felt like I was watching a movie while reading this book. Absolutely loved it, and am hoping for a spin off about Evie 😉💞 #unputdownable
⭐️⭐️⭐️ witting ⭐️ story 🌶️🌶️ Unnecessary side plots and unanswered plot lines. HATED the main character, super annoying, always assumes people are judging her but she is the most judgmental person in the book which is written solely from her POV. The spicy scenes are decent, but kinda gave me the ick the way he forced himself on her with no clear consent or discussion of protection. Only good things I can say about this book is that it has little to no spelling or grammatical errors and it’s short enough to read in an afternoon if you’re trying to meet your Goodreads goal.

October feels like she needs to change herself to find love. Atticus begrudingly agrees to help her. In the end, October realizes you can't force love, and the one you're meant for will love are all your quirks and oddities.
I loved October, but she was insufferable at times. October gets in her own way a lot. Like frustratingly so. She still thinks everyone hates her and thinks she's weird, and it's damaged her ability to build relationships. She judges people and never gets to know them.
She has gotten it in her head that Atticus's whole life purpose is to make her miserable. Everything he does, she interprets as him trying to make fun of her. He remembers something personal about her-- bait to tease her. He stops by her work every single day-- just to mock her profession. He tries to disuade her from persuing the musician-- he thinks she's not cool enough. She is blind to the man in front of her who is very clearly in love with her.
I desperately wanted Atticus's perspective. It was tough to sit by as October just made a fool of herself for Brent and missed Atticus right in front of her. I would have loved some breaks of just Atticus being frustrated that October doesn't notice him or his inner monologue when he sees her or his jealousy when she's gushing over Brent.
I found it really hard to decide what star rating to give this book. I settled on 3.5 stars in the end and as I’m a glass is half full girly I rounded it up to 4.
So, in general Incantations of love and fate is a well written easy to read book that really does give all the fall vibes. We have our FMC October, I absolutely love her name and her witchy vibe but I cannot stand her! I was really hoping I would come to like her in the end but I really didn’t. She acts like an immature teenager and not a 23 year old at all. She is super judgemental of everyone and blames everyone but herself for her own problems. Our MMC is Atticus and while I did prefer his character, my goodness he really needs to grow a back bone! He lets October walk all over him!
We all have different things we like and dislike when it comes to spice in books. I am someone that greatly prefers somewhat realistic spicy scenes and think it’s actually super important to have them in books. Reading that our FMC achieved the big O her first ever time having seggs because Atticus put one inch of his peen in her made me almost throw my kindle out the window!! We do (primarily) women and young girls a disservice writing scenes like this! So my biggest point of feedback for the authors next book would be to work on better and more realistic spicy scenes.
This is the first book I have read from this author. It was intriguing and told quite the story. I absolutely loved the characters, the banter between them and the chemistry. This was a warm spicy fall themed enjoyable book. Tarot Reading & Witchy Autumn Vibes Enemies to lovers Sizzling Chemistry Witty Banter One Bed Small Town October is socially awkward. Possibly because people think she is a witch, but she is just a woman that wants to find love. Atticus is a friend sort of. He is willing to help October get with who she believes is her soulmate. But what is going to be the cost for them both? There are some very intense moments between these two as you dig into October getting her soulmate to pay attention to her. These moments make you think that maybe the cards are wrong in what they are trying to tell her. But will fate step in before she loses everyone important to her? I absolutely loved this book. It was gripping right off the bat with characters that you could easily relate too. I could easily relate to October as some days I felt like I was in her shoes with my own life. She was written to be relatable and enjoyable. Amber drew me in with this storyline and characters and will definitely have me reading more of her books. Highly recommend reading this one especially on a cold fall day as it will warm your heart.

October is a witch in the small town she grew up in. She feels socially awkward and has a lot of self doubt since her years in school. A tarot reading sends her on a self growth journey she didn't quite expect.
October's growth is one of my favorite things with this book. Even though she has a lot to figure out about herself she is witty and fun and her banter with Atticus is really fun to read.
I wish Atticus had gotten a little more room and nuance. As the book progresses we get to know him better and understand how he acts but I still feel he is on a bit of a dodgy moral line at times. I still love him at the end!
The last part of the book could have been given more room. I loved the scene at the Halloween party and the resolution and I probably would have loved it even more if it had been more in depth.
This was a great, fast read and this will definitely stay in my Kindle library for future falls.
First off, the cover is EVERYTHING! Pumpkin spice latte me now.😜
It’s a steamy, witchyish, enemies to lovers rom- com with a little bit of heart thrown in. The story follows the FMC October ( squeal, I’m obsessed with this name! ) and MMC, Atticus. These two definitely know how to make a girl blush! They also have such fun banter, you will lol reading this one. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I really enjoyed October’s character and her growth journey. She was definitely a bit frustrating at times, but that comes from being socially awkward and guarded.I tend to connect with books where the main character has been an outcast, so this was my kind of a book. I do wish that we had a pov from Atticus, however I’ll take what I can get from him. He was such a sweetheart. This was an enjoyable page turner and cozy fall read that I was sad to see end.

I really loved this book, it was a nice mix of banter, spice, and plot. This wasnt a 5 star for me because I feel like the ending was rushed and left me wanting more closure and grovel from Atticus but I loved it none the less. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good October read, and bonus points for the FMC being named October!
I really enjoyed this book. It was a cute and easy fall read with a little bit of spice.
October’s development was awesome to read. Watching her slowly gain self confidence was cool to see. Atticus was such a sweetheart who really tried to be the best he could. I do wish we would have had more context and closure.
Overall, highly recommend.
I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced reader copy from this author. My thoughts and opinions are honest and voluntary.
I loved this story! October is socially awkward, and I felt like I could totally relate to her character. I didn't know what to make of Atticus, but the more I read, the more I was rooting for him. October goes through a lot of self-discovery and growth throughout, and I was so happy with the way everything turned out.

This is such a cute book. I was hooked from the start! Beautifully written and it weaved a spell that you couldn’t put it down! The banter was amazing! And the spice was perfect. A great fall read!!!
This was an overall cute story. I felt it started out really strong, but towards the middle and end it seemed like the storyline just went downhill a bit, and the editing needed a lot of work. Almost like by midway interest was lost on the book. I did like some of the characters but this was just an okay read for me. Nothing that really grabbed my attention and kept it, or made me thinking about it after it was over. If you’re looking for something festive and sweet, this can hit the mark, but overall for me it was just mediocre. I give all authors props for writing something to begin with, and I would like to read the other two books to see if maybe it was just this particular story that didn’t give me all the feels. Definitely a cute fall read if you’re looking for something short and sweet. But that’s really all it was with not a lot of depth. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
