A British spy dressed in French soldier garb took a bullet for me only minutes after I accidentally traveled through time. What the…
Savanna Stevens couldn’t explain how she’d traveled through time and found herself on a Spanish beach surrounded by French soldiers. The rough men whispered superstitious fears of mermaids and entrapments. Since the gullible bunch mistakenly believes her to be a siren, she runs with the lie to stay un-dead. I guess her bright purple hair and unusual choice of clothing could send the wrong vibe. Not to mention, she had some newfound ability to entrap them with her song.
Did that bit of superpower have anything to do with her sudden change in eye color and her tripping through a mirror and time? No idea. All she knew was that she needed to return home but had no idea how. Plus, there was a war raging around her and one of the soldiers took a bullet for her. So, yeah, there’s that.
Would she be stuck in eighteen-hundred-whatever forever?
While undercover as a French soldier, British spy, Walter Hurst, hadn’t expected to come across a strange beauty on the Spanish shore whilst cannonballs echoed off the walls of the nearby burning homes. Nor did he expect to take a bullet for her. Yet, he’d make the same choice over again if it meant she’d remain at his side.
He lay for days on the verge of death, drifting in and out of consciousness and dreams of her. She, in turn, saved his life, that much he knew, but talk of time travel and strange songs made little sense.
Had he really promised to help her home safely? How would that be possible when he was on a mission for King and Country? And what about his heart that she would take with her when she left?
A Siren Through Time is the second book of a time travel six-book series. It is a closed-door/sweet romance set in war-ridden Spain. Triggers are a small number of mild cuss words, war-related death and violence, and a man attacking a female (nothing goes beyond kissing).
Ever since reading book 1 (a countess through time), I’ve been dying to read the other books from this series 😱
I’m not gonna lie: in the beginning, I had a hard time getting into the whole vibe of this story - I don’t know if it was because of the completely different starting point in comparison to the first book, but something was missing. The story seemed to speed up at a certain moment & got very interesting with some references to the previous book (which I absolutely loved 🥰).
This story had me on the verge of crying at times 🥲. Christine seems to know exactly how to portray her characters & how to make them relatable to the reader. It makes it so much easier to process the story, which made it possible for me to read the book in only 2 days.
Safe to say, I had a lot of fun & loved this one 🤍 BUT WHAT ABOUT THE OPEN ENDING??? I wanna know how it ends for Savanna & Walter, dangnabbit!!! 😭😭😂

-A Siren Through Time is the second book of a time travel six-book series. It is a closed-door/sweet romance set in war-ridden Spain. This story will have you feeling like you’ve transported to a time of war, love, and adventure! This story is weaved with sweet and fun romance. It has a wonderful blend of regency and modern romance intertwined within the pages! Watching characters, Savannah and Walter save each other and brave the war to come out alive was thrilling. This story does have some swearing and war related violence to be aware of, along the way, but not enough to distract from the whole story. This is a story of adventure that will have your attention. The beginning took me a good minute to understand but, by midway, I was engaged and pages flew faster. So hold on to the tide this story brings! 🙌🏻📚🙂
“All my life, I thought I possessed only a single whole heart, but now I know that it is not whole. There are pieces. You have a part of it beating with your own. They have woven together, never to part.”
-Content: small number of mild swear words, some war related deaths, and war related violence.
Where to even begin!! Oh my goodness this book is unlike anything I've read before!!! Absolutely incredible!! I couldn't get enough and then it ends and I want more! 😂
It's got time travel, fantasy meets regency romance, war, love against all odds, he saves her, she saves him, mistaken identity and sudden magical powers.
The FMC, Savanna is so fun and quirky, does not care what others think and loves to tease. The MMC, Walter is a gentleman serving in the army, prone to blush and cares deeply, and has his own sense of humor. Their love is the sweetest, cutest, funnest thing to read. I couldn't get enough.
Because of the time travel and the centuries time difference, the way she speaks is totally different and she says the oddest things, it's hilarious. His confusion and embarrassment at her forward and unusual ways is adorable, I kinda feel bad for him honestly. And she doesn't even try to hide it most of the time!
The plot is fast, exciting, full of action, humour, romance, and danger. There is some slower parts but it's never boring. It's one thing after another in this book, and for awhile nothing goes there way. I was hooked from the start and was constantly wondering what would happen next.
The ending!! It's got sad moments and some sweet moments, and it was beautiful but still so sad to see it end. Amazing Book, wonderful story, 10/10 recommend. Please read this book!
Content: No-Spice/kisses only, suggestive comments, war violence, blood, death, amputation, multiple times the FMC is attacked and it is suggested they want to take advantage of her but they are stopped before it goes past a threat or once a kiss, mild swear words
This wonderful time travel regency romance was so much fun to read and pulled on my heartstrings!
Savanna is enjoying her spring break from nursing school near the Gulf of Mexico, when a visit to an antique shop changes her life forever. She stumbles upon a beautiful bracelet and upon trying it on, watches as it disappears and leaves a gold tattoo embedded on her skin. Not only has the bracelet disappeared but Savanna’s once blue eyes are now gold, and somehow she has traveled through a mirror into a war ravaged Spain…in the midst of the Napoleonic wars. A chance encounter with an English spy, Walter, who has been pretending to be a French soldier, leaves Savanna feeling that much more than her own life is at stake, and that an Englishman just might have stolen her heart. Did I mention that Savanna can also manipulate anyone who hears her sing?
This story had me glued to its pages from the very beginning! I loved how sweet, strong, thoughtful, and caring Savanna was to all she crossed paths with, and my oh my! Her lovely relationship with Walter was one of the sweetest and most swoon worthy ever. Walter has quickly become one of my favorite hero’s of all time. I highly recommend this beautiful time travel story with many heart wrenching and lovely moments.
Romantic Content: Low Spice, Closed Door
TW: Death in War, Amputations, Drugging, Attempted Sexual Assault (Not Described), Mild Swearing Implied
Get ready to be transported to a time of war, love, and adventure! Savanna tries on a bracelet at a antique shop that allows her to touch a mirror to go back in time. Unfortunately for her, the mirror is shattered shortly after she goes through it leaving her trapped in war ridden Spain. How will she ever get home?
I felt sorry for Savanna being taken from everyone she loved and in a strange new place where she couldn’t just call someone for help. If you have been to a foreign country like I have you can relate somewhat to Savanna’s predicament. I love Savanna and how sassy she is! She is always trying to help others which I love. I also love how she doesn’t try to blend in, she just goes with the flow to try and survive a war she is completely unprepared for. It was interesting to read about war ridden Spain during the regency era.
The romance was sweet and fun! It was a perfect blend of regency and modern romance! The differences in affection between now and then make me laugh!
Overall I loved this book! It had a bit of swearing and war related violence, but the romance didn’t go beyond kissing.
Once again, I loved this story by Christine. It's a time traveling romance once again! For me, traveling through times of war was a rough read. But it was broken up with witty banter and lots of romantic moments. Walter is absolutely wonderful, and from the very beginning, when he risked his life for Savanna, I KNEW I would think he was amazing. Savanna is wonderful as well, the way she helps Walter back to health and all the families struggling from the war. She has a heart of gold.
She's time traveled into the middle of a war. The people worry that she's cursed, and when they go to shoot her Walter steps in the way, injuring himself. From keeping each other safe, warm, and being by each other's side over and over, they are bound to fall in love. But she's not from his time, and even if she was, she isn't close to his ranking. She has no future with Walter because she's from the future. Whereas he can't imagine his future void of Savanna, but how can this all work out?!
When I finished book 1, I didn't expect any other book to top it, but oh this book is marvellous.
The cheeky and confident Savannah paired with the ever so gentleman Walter was such a good pair. This closed door book has the swoon and all the feels.
Savannah cracks me up when she teases Walter and I love how protective Walter is.
I love Christine's writing style, it's so easy and flowy that I keep turning the pages, and getting immersed into the scene.
Where book 1 was sweet and heartfelt (not that this one isn't), this book set in the time period of the Napoleon war, has a lot of adventure in the first part of the book, where Savannah and Walter save each other and brave the war to come out alive.
The book also has a lot more magic and references to Book 1 (I almost squealed at that) and I honestly can't wait for Book 3.
I received an advance copy of the book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’m really enjoying this series! I love all the historical times we get to visit and people we get to meet. It’s always funny when the time travelers slip some modern thing in and baffle the minds of those around them, or make them blush 😉😂
This book was so much fun and I loved it more than the first book in the series. Snark, adventure, and romance! The characters go on quite the journey, literally and emotionally.
