And she left without a backward glance.
Making me crave her even more.

Imagine my shock when we unexpectedly met again, presenting the most unexpected problem—Addison Lark was forbidden.

Featuring ~ fast burn, billionaire, single dad, teacher/parent, forbidden, age gap, he falls first, no 3rd act breakup, steamage

Ridge (31) & Addison (24) meet when he’s at a strip club and she’s the stripper. It’s lust at first sight and it’s a Marni book so the burn is fast as usual. But then he finds out what her day job is and now it’s a forbidden relationship.

I, honestly, didn’t love the reason why she had to take on that second job. Like that’s way too much money to waste on that, even if you have the best parents in the world. I get she’s trying to do something nice, but that’s a whole lotta moolah that could be better spent in my opinion, like maybe just on your student loans. She was a great character, though, and being a teacher was a perfect fit for her personality.

Ridge is a great dad to an adorably well behaved girl named Daisy. He and the ex have a pretty good co-parenting relationship, which was nice. Addison and Daisy also get on well, so I loved that.

Overall, they were both super sweet, except for that 1 time he was a fool. I liked that he was all in right away and fell first. No 3rd act breakup and communication is always a plus for me, too.

Narration notes:
A fabulous job by both

Welp, I didn't expect the MMC's ex to appear so frequently in the book. Although she's not a bad person or a witch, I still don't like reading about the exes in a single dad romance. Like seriously, I really, really don't. The ex and the FMC even became friends.

Irl, this would've been an ideal scenario, but since this is fiction, I don't want the exes to be part of the story. And to top it all off, the ex factored in so many decisions between the MCs. So much so that they couldn't decide on some things without considering her opinion. 🤦‍♀️

Anyhoo, still thinking if I'm going to write a long review...

The Heartbreaker by Marni Mann

4.5/5 stars

The Heartbreaker is such a great book in the Spade Hotel series. It's hot, captivating and the main characters are just so, so sweet.

Ridge's father told him to love hard when he was dying. And the second Ridge lays his eyes on Addison, he loves her hard with everything he has. They meet unconventionally in a stripclub. Where Addison is a dancer. And when they book a private room Ridge is nothing but respectful and only wants to talk to her.
Until he invites her home and sparks fly.

Addison is struggling to pay off her student debt. She also arranged a wonderful vacation for her parents with her sister. But it cost so incredibly much. So her only option is to get cash quickly, and stripping is the only option that does that.

Ridge has a 6 year old daughter and he has a great co-parenting relationship with his ex. When he checks in on his daughter on the first day of school, he sees Addison. And his mouth drops. Addison has been ignoring him since they spend the night together. And now she is his daughter's teacher. And that is what kickstarts this story.

I love how unproblematic this love story is. There is no unnecessary cheating or other such problems. It's a story about two people who connect and love fiercely.

I love how close Ridge is with his family. And what a great father he is. I loved to read how loved his daughter Daisy is. And how Addison always puts Daisy first without any feelings of jealousy. This book has so much heart and so much tenderness. And even though it's sweet it is also scorchingly hot. The love scenes were beautifully written and it felt all the emotions with them.

Absolutely loved this addictive story. 4.5 big stars for this stunning book!

Book boyfriend 💕 😍😍 Omg Ridge is some hunk.
This story is sweet and romantic. He is definitely swoon worthy. Highly recommend this series.

Ridge meets Addison at a strip club... Ridge is the sweetest, most swoony hero yet of the author's. He takes one look, like all her heroes, and is head over heels. I love the relationship they develop, but what I think I love the most is the kind of dad Ridge is and the way Addison bonds with his daughter. Single parents can be touchy to write, but there's no way she wouldn't do it justice, and boy did she!

**Single dad
**Struggling girl
**Rich guy
**Perfect book boyfriend
**Chemistry 🌶🌶🌶

I really don't know how Marni does it, but she delivers every single time. I know that when I pick up a Marni book it's going to be a 5 star banger, and The Heartbreaker was no exception!

I have to say that, Ridge and Addison have to be one of the least problematic couples I have read in a long time. These two had very little drama and a whole lot of swoon worthy moments. Right off the bat I loved these two. In true Marni fashion, this book starts off with Ridge seeing Addison in the strip club and needing to get to know her. One thing leads to another and they spend a hot and heavy night together, only for Addison to not call him the next day. Why? Because she feels ashamed that they met in a strip club. But the real plot twist? Addison is Ridge's daughter's teacher! The way that I gasped!

I have to say Ridge is the most thoughtful MMC. This man would literally do anything for Addison. And boy did he do some big grand gestures that made me swoon! Like I'm jealous of Addison. And I kept asking myself, where can I meet myself a Ridge? Now Addison, I admire her. She is so prideful and such a strong woman. And the way that she loved Ridge's daughter, ugh so heartwarming.

I truly loved everything about this book. There is nothing bad to say about it. If you have not read a Marni Mann book, what are you even doing with your life? She is such an auto read author for me. She never misses. It Marni writes it, your girl is going to read it! So do yourself a favor and read The Heartbreaker!

You should most definitely add this one to your TBR if you like:
- Billionaire Romance
- Single Dad Romance
- Age Gap
- Forced Proximity

* I would like to say a huge thank you to Valentine PR and Marni Mann for allowing me to read The Heartbreaker as an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review.

Just couldn’t get into it (possible spoiler)

I really loved the Dalton series and the spades series started out pretty good but these last two books I just can’t seem to really get into. The MFC is a stripper, which is hard to really connect with that to begin with but then you add in why she’s doing it and it’s so dumb. She literally turned to stripping so that she can get her parents a vacation which cost $40,000?! It’s not even a real reason, I mean chip in for a vacation for 1/3 of that and you dont have to strip. Then the MMC could care less shes a stripper and his whole family thinks its great and the whole book was just very blah and no real story line. The big storyline of the whole book was that she was stripping to pay for her parents family vacation and then she happened to be his daughters teacher and when the ex finds out he’s with her its all cleared up in like a 20 minute convo and its sunshine and rainbows. I had such a hard time getting through this one and I actually skimmed through the second half of the book.

I don't understand the author's obsession to have the 6 yr old kid walk in on her father naked and in middle of fucking. Not once but twice with two diff women. Once on page and once as a recollection.

I don't have a kid and i do get that the book is fictional but this just gave me the biggest ick and very creepy vibes 🫢🫢🫢

Marni Mann writes really SPICY romances that you can devour in one sitting! 🌶️

I enjoy her books and find them amazing to relax with. She has a way of writing that makes you so obsessed with the characters and subjects that you can’t stop reading about them.

This story begins with Ridge Cole. He and his friends end up at a local stripclub and that’s were he was instantly attracted to Addison Lark.

She became a stripper to pay off multiple debts and after an adventurous evening, they have an one-night stand. After that weekend, Addison was having doubts to persuade anything more with Ridge but before she had the chance to talk to him, she sees him at her day-job where she is his daughter’s teacher..

Thank you to Valentine Pr, Marni Mann and the publisher for providing me with this copy. All opinions are my own.

The Heartbreaker is a steamy stand alone romance in the Spade Hotel series. Ridge would do anything for Addison and is constantly showing her they should be together. Addison is a fun character who is not afraid to get out of her comfort zone and always thinking of others. The scenes with Daisy, Ridge's daughter are my favorite. This is a fun romance that I did not want to put down. I recommend The Heartbreaker for romance fans.

I can always count on Marni for a great Billionaire romance. I've liked Ridge from his first introduction in the series so I'm glad to finally have his book! Ridge seems like the most loving dad to his little girl and I love that he puts her first in his crazy business world. Ridge and the boys were all out celebrating at a strip club when he saw Addison and just knew he needed to be around her and get to know her.

I really enjoyed Addison's character. I loved how hard working and independent she was. She was willing to take on extra work, in a job she never thought she would have, to gift her parents with an amazing anniversary present and pay down those pesky student loans (I feel your pain girl). Aside from her nights and weekends gig, Addison is a first grade teacher. Little did she know when she first met Ridge, she was going to be his daughter's teacher. Obviously, this complicates things.

This was a very enjoyable read and I really enjoyed the relationship Ridge and Addison formed. I also loved the relationship Addison formed with Daisy. These two were meant for each other and Addison was the missing piece to the family for Ridge and Daisy. I don't know how Marni does it, but she again rocked it with this one. Highly recommend! I can't wait to see what happens next with the last Cole brother!

Marni has done it again!

Another couple and another beautiful romance!

Ridge, my man! He is the dream!!!!!! A top book boyfriend in every way possible! Oh, Addison, you are the sweetest little cupcake there is.

In summary, their romance is low angst, but highest heat! The slight push and pull was understandable with their dynamic, but it made it so worthwhile once they stopped turtling iykyk!

Thank you Marni for the advanced copy.

Ridge Cole is so swoony, the ultimate girl dad! I loved the spice from the get go and how hard and fast he falls for Addy. This is single dad (with a healthy relationship with the mother), billionaire, age gap relationship. Ridge meets Addy at a strip club and then comes to find out she is his daughter’s new teacher. I loved Addy trying to resist Ridge but she just can’t and who can blame her? A must read!

Another swoony man from Marni, are we surprised? No. Are we in love? Absolutely 🤭

I started this book completely in my feels (wheeew that beginning) and I just knew it was going to hook me from then!

All of the characters were amazing. Ridge Cole is perfect. I love how much he cares for his daughter and always puts her first. I loved the coparenting between him and Jana and loved how they truly worked together for their sweet girl. Addy is phenomenal! I love that she worked hard at two jobs so she could do something sweet for her parents. It truly showed the heart she has and it was just beautiful!

Addy and Ridge together? Fireworks. Explosion. Chemistry beyond any other. 😜 I love love loved them together. I also loved that they always put Daisy first as well!

Overall, I loved it! Marni never fails to make me fall in love with new characters and never fails to bring the old characters back so you get a glimpse of them while reading! 💖

Listen, I am a Marni Mann fan but this book was just not for me. The dialogue between the characters was so cringy and too lovey. I love when the MMC says cute swoony things to the FMC but this was just over the top. It was like every page they were declaring how much they love each other and how much they mean to each other. I’ll read Rhett’s book (obviously) but this was definitely my least favorite in the series.

"Touching a body like yours would be a f*cking dream, and I'd love nothing more, but that's not my motive. I want to get to know you..."

Marni Mann writes good spice, but damn if she knows how to give us a man that knows what he wants and is pretty darn perfect all around.

If you've read the previous Spade Hotel books, you know that the Spade and Cole men see what they like and go after it. It's an immediate electric chemistry between them and their love interests and The Heartbreaker is no different. And if you haven't read this series yet, that's ok too. Start with this one and never look back. Because these men know how to please their women.

While out at a joint bachelor/bachelorette party at a strip club, Ridge notices a dancer and knows he must find her. He must talk to her and he must get to know her. Addison may be a dancer, but there's a reason she's dancing. This is not her normal 9-5 job and she wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't for dire need of money. When Ridge decides to leave the party, he spends it with Addison in a private room. But he wants more than that. More than a dance. He wants time. And boy, do they give it to each other.

Can I say that Ridge Cole is one of the most perfect heroes? For one, I'm a total sucker for a single dad. And when you put a Marni Mann spin on it, you know it's not only going to be well written, but it's going to be hot AF. Ridge is part of the Spade-Cole hotels. He's successful, rich, good looking and also a father to a very cute little girl, Daisy. He is the epitome of perfection. His words and actions and his relationships with his family and his ex prove that time and time again. One of my favorite things about his character was his relationship with Daisy's mother. Their relationship may not have worked out, but they put their daughter above everything else and really work at instilling her with good and strong qualities. Their co-parenting was some of the best I've read in a romance book. That made Ridge even more attractive in my eyes. Ridge is obviously an amazing dad that says and does all the right things, but when the woman he meets at the strip club turns out to be more than he thought, what will he do?

Addison was so much more than I thought she was going to be. We meet her as a dancer in a strip club, but her night job did not identify her. It's what happens when her day job intersects with her night job and her personal life that she has to figure out answers and what she is willing to give up to make everything work. I liked that her character was strong and did what she had to do to make it work, but I also was afraid that everything was going to come crashing down. She was just too good.

Marni Mann gave us another sizzling story with 2 characters that had an immediate connection. While timing may have been off for Addison, fate had other plans and these two had to battle the bit of forbidden and bad timing to make it work. Ridge was absolute perfection as the single dad that was open to love and Addison was such a good match for him. They had great chemistry and really balanced each other out. Daisy was a great addition to their story and I loved how she played into their relationship.

If you like your single dad romances like I do and mixing that up with an ultra hot billionaire, a forbidden age gap with an immediate connection, and low angst with no 3rd act breakup, The Heartbreaker is not to be missed.

- Forbidden Romance
- Single Dad

- Age Gap
- He Falls First
- Low Drama
- No Third Act Breakup

She's done it again, y'all! Marni Mann truly is one of the best billionaire romance writers, and she never disappoints. Does the perfect man exist? Yes. His name is Ridge Cole. This man is in a category of his own. He put on a masterclass about how to treat a woman. Ridge is attentive, caring, patient, thoughtful, protective, and has a huge heart. He is a great father to his daughter Daisy and has a successful co-parenting relationship with his ex. Daisy is the cutest little Swiftie ever! Addison is a teacher who is trying to do right by her family. I can't help but admire her for that.

I loved Ridge and Addison together. There was little drama and mature communication. Their story is a genuine swoony romance, and I loved every second of it. There are so many swoony moments in this book that made me melt. HE DROVE TO HER JUST FOR A KISS! I mean....come on! Ridge was all in with Addison at first sight and would do anything for her. I love a man that knows what he wants and makes things happen. I really enjoyed this heartwarming and spicy forbidden romance, and I can't wait for the next Cole brother.

Book 4 in the spare hotels series.
Narrated in dual by Connor Crais and Savannah Peachwood.

This was a sweet billionaire romance. Ridge Cole is a wealthy single dad to his daughter Daisy.
At a bachelor party one night, Ridge locks eyes with Addison a stripper at a local club and the moment he sees her he is determined to have her all to himself for the night.
When one thing leads to another other they spend most of the night together and he learns the reasons behind her job choice, that is till he runs into her at her OTHER job and things begin to get complicated.
Ridge and Addison build n adorable relationship, he’s extremely supportive of her in so many ways, he has a wonderful relationship with the mother of his daughter, he has a great family and he gladly opens Addison up to his world. His daughter is sweet and smart and I am always a sucker for a single dad. This story has very low angst and drama but makes up for it in spice.
Connor Crais and Savanah Peachwood do an amazing job narrating Ridge and Addison, giving ridge that extra confidence with Connors deep demanding voice, sensual but also extremely mature and caring. Addison is a bit naive for me in the story but Savannah was able to showcase all of those emotions, of feeling lost, trying to trust someone, and at the same time building her confidence to show her worth and prove the love she has for Ridge and his daughter no matter the circumstances.
