When Lucy’s grandmother dies, she’s forced to move back to her father and stepmother’s house. It’s with this move that she finds out the horrible truth that her father’s business is about to go bankrupt and that she is the only one that can save it. The stakes are high; not only will she lose the prestige land she inherited from her grandmother, but she’ll also lose her freedom as she’s forced into an arranged marriage with the town playboy, Jason. With their marriage, Jason’s family can get the inherited land for a cheaper price, which will then be enough to save her father’s business. Will Lucy’s loyalty overpower her need to be free? You’ll just have to get the book to find out the answer.
Bound by Inheritance by The Elusive Authoress, is a novel that makes you realize that some people’s core existence is about money and that they would do anything possible to gain financial freedom, no matter who they hurt in the process.
There are so many positives in this novel for me, but I’ll only name a few. First and foremost, the author did exceptional work in planning and executing the plot. It was impossible to predict what would happen next, as the author did exceptional work on creating suspense and unexpected turns. Although there were a vast number of characters, they were well developed, making them authentic and relatable. Lastly, since romance is not my choice of genre, I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed this novel. Once you start, you find it difficult to put it down.
There’s nothing I dislike about this book. I found no profanity or erotic scenes.
My rating for this book is 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this novel to readers from the age of 16, readers who love young adult romances, and even those readers who don't; it will give you a whole new perspective on young adult romances.
